ON JULY 26 THE FUEL TANK BROKE AND THE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT ALSO ON MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IT WAS TWO DAYS BEFORE I HAD IT FOR 30 DAYS I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T DO NOTHING WE PAID ABOUT $2800.00 DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED YOU COULD SMELL THE GAS INSIDE THE CAR I WAS VERY WORRIED BEING THAT IT WAS HARMFUL TO MY KIDS AND I LET THE DEALER KNOW THAT AND THEN A WEEK LATER WE GOT A RECALL LETTER FROM CHEVY ABOUT THE PROBLEM THE DEALER NEVER GAVE US THE CAR FAX REPORT LIKE IT STATES IN THERE DEALER FRONT DOOR I WOULD LIKE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS . *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED 50 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER BECAME INOPERABLE AND WOULD OFTEN BECOME STUCK AT ZERO. IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD OFTEN DISPLAY 100 MPH WHEN THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING LESS THAN 50 MPH. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 73,000.
WENT ON VACATION AND ON THE WAY BACK MY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING AND THE GAS GAUGE GET HOME DO SOME SEARCHING ON THE TRAILVOY WEB SITE COME TO FIND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM PEOPLE ARE HAVING NOTHING LIKE A 4 HOUR TRIP HOME TAKING 7 HOURS CAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING OR HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE CALL THE DEALER THEY TELL ME IT WILL COST 500+ TECH TIME TO REPLACE I WAS LIKE WHAT THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM USE SHOULD RECALL THIS AND THE SERVICES WRITER AGREED ABOUT THAT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
WAS DRIVING AND HAPPEN TO LOOK DOWN AT HOW FAST I WAS GOING AND IT READ 80 MPH A FEW DAYS LATER IT WAS WORKING AGAIN AND THE FOLLOWING WEEK BOTH THE RPM AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS GOING CRAZY. *TR
SPEEDOMETER HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. STARTED OUT INTERMITTENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. ALL OF THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURES WERE CONTRIBUTED TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE FIRST TIME I WAS IN A CAR WASH AND HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE. I LOOKED BACK AND COULD SEE THE UPPER TAILGATE MOLDING FLOPPING IN THE WIND OF THE CAR WASH DRYER BEING HELD ON BY ONLY THE BRAKE WIRES. AT THAT TIME IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. 2ND REPLACEMENT ABOUT 3 YEARS LATER SAME THING. NOW RECENTLY I NOTICED AGAIN THAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SCREW ATTACHMENT ON THE MOLDING HAS BROKEN AWAY AGAIN AND IT'S MY RESPONSIBILITY TO SHELL OUT THE $500+ TO HAVE IT REPLACED AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A GM DEALER IT IS PROBABLY CAUSED BY OUR WISCONSIN WINTERS WITH ACCUMULATION OF ICE & SNOW BUILD UP GETTING UNDER THE MOLDING AND ALSO WINDS USED TO DRYING VEHICLES IN CAR WASHES. CHEAP PLASTIC FOR THE MOUNTING SCREW TO GO THROUGH TO ATTACH IT TO THE VEHICLE. *TR
2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER INSTRUMENTATION PANEL CLUSTER OUT SPEEDOMETER GAS OIL PRESSURE BATTERY AND RPM. 2 SPEEDING TICKETS. SPEEDO WAS OFF BY 40 AT THE TIME,NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. NO GAS ON FREEWAY. AND BATTERY OUT CAUSED A CRASH. CHEVY DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO HELP ALTHOUGH THERE IS A RECALL FOR OTHER CHEVY PRODUCTS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. CHEVY SERVICE DEPARTMENT OFFERS NOTHING AND REFUSES TO HELP OR ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING WRONG. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP FORCE GM TO RECALL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER STICKS. THIS PROBLEM STARTED LAST SUMMER (2008). I HAD NOTICED IT HAPPENING AFTER USING THE CRUISE CONTROL. I THOUGHT IT WAS RELATED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL AND STOPPED USING THE CRUISE AND IT WOULD STILL STICK. FOND OUT IT IS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE SPEEDOMETER USED TO RESET ITSELF AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. NOW WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON IT WILL READ AROUND 100 MPH AND MOVE UP PAST THE 120 MPH. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR APPROX 2 MONTHS. MY MECHANIC SAID IT NEEDS A NEW INSTRUMENT PANEL. I JUST RESEARCHED ON INTERNET AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT IF SOMEONE DOES NOT REALIZE THEIR SPEED WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER STARTS STICKING. I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPLACED AS I CANNOT AFFORD IT. I JUST GAUGE MY SPEED BY OTHER CARS OR BY THE TIME IT TAKES TO GO 5 OR 10 MILES WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY. NOT GOOD. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AND THE DASH CLUSTER IS CONSTANTLY SHOWING INCORRECT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AND STARTED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD AROUND 80,000. MILES ON IT. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SHOW 55 AT A STAND STILL, AND THE TACHOMETER DOES WHATEVER IT WANTS, NEITHER DO AS THEY SHOULD. THE PROBLEM IS ALMOST A CONSTANT, IT WILL WORK CORRECTLY FOR A FEW MILES, THEN GOES SILLY AGAIN. *TR
CURRENTLY OWN A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT WAS REPAIRED DUE TO NHTSA ACTION # EA04021. VERY SOON AFTER THE REPAIR TO THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS WAS COMPLETED, REAR BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED ON BOTH SIDES SIMULTANEOUSLY. DEALER INDICATES THAT THE LEFT REAR BRAKE CIRCUIT BOARD HAS "MELTED." *TR

THE DEALERSHIP THAT WE BOUGHT OUR CAR FROM DIDN'T WANT TO FIX OUR PROBLEM BEING THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE AND EXTRA 1500 DOLLARS TO BUY AN EXTRA WARRANTY FOR THE CAR ABOUT THREE WEEKS LATER AFTER TAKING IT OFF THE LOT AT A STORE THE CAR DIDN'T COME BACK ON SO WE CALLED AND ASKED A MECHANIC WHAT COULD BE WRONG AND THEY LET US KNOW THAT IT COULD BE THE FUEL PUMP OR SOME THING TO DO WITH THE FUEL LINES SO WE TOOK IT IN TO GET CHECKED AND IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUEL TANK SO WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD TALK TO THE MANAGER AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO SO THEN ABOUT TWO HOURS LATER THEY CALLED BACK SAYING THAT THEY COULDN'T DO NOTHING BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT WE DIDN'T BUY THE EXTRA 1500 DOLLAR WARRANTY SO I TOLD THEM THAT IT WASN'T EVEN THIRTY DAY AFTER WE TOOK THE CAR OFF THE LOT AND ALL THEY COULD SAY IS THAT THEY WERE SORRY WE DIDN'T GET A (CAR FAX REPORT) LIKE IT SAYS ION A DISPLAY ON THE DEALERSHIP ENTRANCE DOOR WE DIDN'T GET NOTHING THEY EXPECTED US TO GIVE THEM 1500DOLLARS DOWN PAYMENT AND WE HAD TO USE THAT MONEY TO FIX THE CAR AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN CARE. *TR
2004 TRAILBLAZER LS, 65,000 MILES, NOTICED STRONG GAS ODOR AROUND THE FUEL FILLER DOOR. MECHANIC JUST CALLED AND SAID THE NECK ON THE FUEL TANK WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING. REPAIR COST $800+ TO REPLACE PLASTIC GAS TANK. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS APPEAR A SAFETY MANUFACTURER DEFECT. *TR
IN 2008, ONE DAY I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE OIL GAUGE INDICATOR DID NOT REGISTER. THAT DAY I CONTINUED DRIVING WITHOUT THE GAUGE OPERATING. LATER THAT WEEK I TOOK IT A MECHANIC, WHO INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. HE SUSPECTED THAT IT WAS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I DID NOT TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MAJOR. HOWEVER, IN LATER MONTHS THE TACHOMETER FAILED. IN 2010 I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND FOUND MANY ACCOUNTS OF FAILURE BY OTHERS. I ALSO WANT TO MENTION THAT THE GAS GAUGE HAS FAILED ON OCCASION. CURRENTLY, MY TACHOMETER AND OIL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. I ALONG WITH OTHER DRIVERS WANT CHEVROLET TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAILURE OF THEIR PRODUCT, WHICH THEY KNOW DOES NOT OPERATE AS IT SHOULD.
SPEEDOMETER STARTED TO FLUTTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. SPEEDOMETER COMPLETELY BROKEN NOW. UNABLE TO TELL HOW FAST CAR IS GOING NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET. CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE SEVERAL OTHER SUVS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY ONLY FIX CERTAIN SUVS. THEY WILL NOT FIX TRAILBLAZERS OR RECALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER WHICH IS THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE ONLY RECALLING SOME OF THE OTHER SUVS INCLUDING YUKONS AND AVALANCHES. *TR
STARTING JUNE 17, 2008, THE LOW BEAMS ON MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER LT GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY - THE HIGH BEAMS, FOG LIGHTS, HAZARD LIGHTS, AND TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS STILL WORK - ONLY LOW BEAMS CAUSING PROBLEMS. I KEEP MY LIGHTS SETTING IN THE POSTION THAT THEY COME ON WHEN I START MY CAR. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY FACTOR. THE LIGHTS WILL GO OUT SUDDENLY. I CAN ONLY DOCUMENT ONE TIME THAT THEY WENT OUT DURING THE DAY TIME, BUT HAVE DOCUMENTED SEVEN (7) TIMES THAT THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AT NIGHT. THE NEXT SPACE ON THIS FORM ASKS FOR THE APPROXIMATE INCIDENT DATE - I PUT DOWN THE FIRST TIME. AS STATED ABOVE THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVEN TIMES AT NIGHT AND AT LEAST ONE TIME DURING THE DAY. I CAN ONLY TELL DURING THE DAY TIME IF I AM STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE AND I ONLY HAVE 2 TRAFFIC SIGNALS BETWEEN MY HOME AND WORK. I TOOK MY CAR TO SANDY SANSING CHEVROLET, PENSACOLA, FLORIDA, ON JUNE 23, 2008, THEY SAID THEY CHECKED MY CAR FOR THREE HOURS BUT COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT IN WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT. UNFORTUNATELY, THE ONLY TIME I COULD TELL THEY HAD GONE OUT DURING THE DAY TIME, I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND BEFORE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. (MY 16 YEAR OLD GRANDSON WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND CAN VERIFY THAT THIS HAPPENED. IN FACT HE AND ANOTHER GRANDSON WAS IN THE CAR ON THE NIGHT OF JULY 1, 2008, WHEN THE LOW BEAMS WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE BASEBALL GAME. *TR
FUEL LEAKAGE CAUSED BY COROSION AT FUEL PUMP OUTLET PIPE. GAS PUMPED ONTO GROUND UNDER VEHICLE. MECHANIC REPLACED SENDING/FILTER UNIT COST $610.00 PLUS 5 GALLONS OF GAS LOST. *TR
ON THE AFTERNOON OF 6/16/08, ME IN MY FAMILY WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON I95 IN NORTH CAROLINA GOING TOWARD OUR DESTINATION IN BALTIMORE MD., WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CLICK US AND CAUSE MY SISTER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE CRASHING INTO THE GUARDRAIL. MY TWO AUNTS AND MYSELF WERE EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE, BOTH MY AUNTS DIE INSTANTLY. MY MOTHER, SISTERS AND MYSELF SURVIVED BUT HAD SEVERAL INJURIES. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE DOORS THAT WERE INITIALLY LOCKED; BUT SOMEHOW THE REAR DOORS (MIDDLE) OPEN DURING IMPACT CAUSING MY AUNTS IN MYSELF TO BE THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE. BE ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS A GREEN TRAILBLAZER (EXTENDED CAB). *TR

I PURCHASED A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT V6, AND MY GAUGES FLUCTUATE SO MUCH THAT I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST I'M GOING, IF I REALLY NEED GAS, IF MY ENGINE IS RUNNING HOT OR NOT...I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I STARTED TO RENT CARS WHEN I NEEDED TO TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN, BECAUSE I WAS CONCERN ABOUT MAKING IT TO MY DESTINATION AS WELL AS COMING BACK HOME SAFELY. I HAVE BEEN SO UPSET AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. I START LOOKING FOR A COMPANY/GROUP TO HEAR MY CRY...AS I SURFED THE INTERNET, I FOUND SEVERAL INTERESTING STORIES SIMILAR TO MY COMPLAINT AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER GM PRODUCT ANYMORE, BECAUSE AS A CONSUMER, I DESERVE TO HAVE A PROBLEM FIXED/SOLVED IF I PURCHASE A PRODUCT OR SERVICE FROM AN ORGANIZATION. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT NO ONE GETS HURT OR KILLED AS A RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES. AROUND 50K MILES THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS ASKED IF I HAD RECENTLY GOT GAS, WHEN I REPLIED YES, HE TOLD ME TO TIGHTEN THE GAS CAP AND THE LIGHT WOULD GO IF IN A FEW DAYS. THE LIGHT DID GO OFF BUT THE MECHANIC NEVER DOCUMENTED ANYTHING ABOUT MY VISIT. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THINKING THAT IT WAS THE SAME SITUATION I TIGHTENED THE GAS CAP AND DID NOT GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE TO GET IT CHECKED OUT AND THE RESULT WAS A MALFUNCTION IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. OFTEN TIMES I SMELL GAS VAPORS ESPECIALLY AFTER FUELING. RECENTLY I WAS PARKED ON A HILL AND GAS WAS DRIPPING FROM MY TANK. LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ACT AS IF THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. *TR
MY SEAT BELT REMINDER LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE NOR DOES IT CHIME WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR SEAT BELT ON LIKE THE OWNERS MANUAL SAYS IT SUPPOSE TO DO. *TR
DEFECTIVE INSTRUMENT PANEL, ALL GAUGES MALFUNCTION SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, FUEL, WATER TEMPERATURE, OIL PRESSURE AND VOLTS. *TR
BOTH ISSUES OCCUR DAILY: APPARENT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS...VEHICLE CANNOT SEEM TO "GET IN GEAR" WHEN CRUISING ANYWHERE FROM 40 - 70 MPH. IT BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN GEARS - NOT NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. MULTIPLE TRIPS TO 2 DIFFERENT GM DEALERS HAS EXPOSED NO PROBLEMS, AS THEY "CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM". THEY MUST NOT HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR AT THOSE SPEEDS AS IT DOES IT RELIGIOUSLY. LIKE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS LISTED HERE, AND THROUGHOUT SEARCHES DONE FOR 2004 TRAILBLAZER ISSUES, MY TACHOMETER & SPEEDOMETER ARE FAULTY. THEY DO NOT WORK PROPERLY... AT ANY TIME MAY SHOW 8000 RPMS OR 100+ MPH WHEN SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT, OR RESTING AT 0 RPMS AND 0 MPH WHEN CRUISING ON A HIGHWAY. THIS IS DANGEROUS, AND GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP FOR MODELS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL - MY FAMILY HAS ALWAYS BEEN OWNERS OF GM VEHICLES...BUT WILL BE NO MORE. *TR
RPM GAUGE FAILED, THEN THE OIL GAUGE AND NOW THE BATTERY GAUGE. WHY WON'T THEY HAVE A FORMAL RECALL AND CHEVROLET PAY FOR IT? THEY DID HAVE A BULLETIN BUT THE TRAILBLAZER WAS NOT INCLUDED. I WOULD LIKE THEM TO PAY FOR IT? *TR
HEADLIGHTS DIM AND FLICKER AT RANDOM TIMES, MOSTLY AT START UP. DEALER HAS REPLACED ALTERNATOR TWICE AND PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND HAS SINCE RECURRED. *TR

2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER, SPEEDOMETER WILL SHOW A FASTER SPEED THAN YOU MOVING OR WILL GO TO 0 WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. THE TACH HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED NOW. I HEARD THAT THEY HAD THE SAME ISSUE ON PICK-UPS AND THEY WERE RECALLED. *TR
PURCHASED MY TRAILBLAZER BRAND NEW IN 2004 AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN MAY OF 2007 THE SPEEDOMETER HAS STOPPED WORKING THE BATTERY AND OIL GAUGES ARE NOT READING AND THE RPM GAUGES WORKS AT RANDOM. I TAKEN THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IR WOULD BE $400 TO REPAIR AND IT NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY WORK. I'M ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT WORKING AT RANDOM. THEY WILL WORK BUT CUT OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING AT NIGHT. I FEEL BOTH ISSUES NEED TO HAVE A MASS RECALL ON ALL 2002-2007 TRAILBLAZERS. *TR
MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER ONLY HAD 59,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN NOT WORKING. WE TOOK OUR CAR ON WEDNESDAY 5/14 TO SUPERIOR CHEVROLET IN CINCINNATI OH BECAUSE ON TUESDAY EVENING THE TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE IT WAS STARTING TO SLIP AND NOT DRIVING CORRECTLY. THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED US ON THURSDAY 5/15 TO SAY THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE WARRANTY REPRESENTATIVE TO COME OUT AND GIVE APPROVAL BEFORE IT COULD BE REPAIRED. ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON, WE WERE ADVISED THE CLAIM WAS DENIED BECAUSE THERE WAS WATER IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT WAS DUE TO A GM DEFECT WITH THE DIP STICK - THE WAY IT WAS POSITIONED ALLOWED WATER TO GET INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND RUST, SO THE WARRANTY WAS NULL AND VOID. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE SPOKE W/HIS GM REP AND THEY WOULD AGREE TO "DO US A FAVOR" AND SPLIT THE COST OF THE NEW TRANSMISSION - $1200 STILL OUT OF POCKET FOR US. WHEN WE PUSHED BACK AND ASKED WHY WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING, THEY REFUSED TO ANSWER - JUST TOLD US TO FIGHT IT WITH OUR WARRANTY COMPANY. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING ONLINE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIGHT THIS AND PREVENT OTHER PEOPLE FROM SUFFERING AS WELL. I SEE THROUGH SOME INTERNET SEARCHING THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. I ALSO HAVE A 2004 TRAILBLAZER THAT THE GAUGES STOPPED WORKING. IT STARTED OUT WITH MISS-READING THE SPEED, AS IN READING HIGHER THAN THE ACTUAL SPEED. LIKE GOING 120 MPH WHEN REALLY GOING 25 MPH. NOW IT IS CURRENTLY STUCK WITH THE NEEDLE POINTING STRAIGHT AT NEUTRAL. THEN JUST LAST WEEK. MY LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. THE NEXT TIME I STARTED THE TRUCK IT WAS UP TO 1/2 A TANK AND AS I DROVE IT WENT TO 3/4 THEN 10 MILES LATER IT SLOWLY DROPPED BACK TO 1/4 THEN THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THEN BACK TO A 1/4 OF TANK. ISSUE ORIGINALLY OCCURRING IN 2008. SPEEDOMETER FAILED...FIRST GETTING STUCK THEN NOT RETURNING TO ZERO. WHEN TURNING VEHICLE ON AGAIN, SPEEDOMETER WOULD SPORADICALLY WORK, THEN GET STUCK, THEN STAY ON ZERO. BROUGHT TO 2 CHEVY DEALERSHIPS WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY (PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY ON DATE OF PURCHASE) AND WAS TOLD "THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED", SO NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT, AS WELL AS "SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT" GOING ON FOR PERIODS OF TIME ....AGAIN CHECKED BY GM DEALERSHIPS AND OTHER MECHANICS BUT NOTHING FOUND. HERE WE ARE IN 2012, I RECENTLY STARTED DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AGAIN AS MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING IT AND APPARENTLY DIDN'T MIND THE SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING AT TIMES, BUT, WITH HIS UNEXPECTED DEATH IN NOVEMBER, AND MY SON AWAY AT COLLEGE, I HAD PLANNED TO GIVE THE VEHICLE TO MY SON TO TAKE TO COLLEGE, BUT NO SPEEDOMETER IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM. AS I AM RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I AM SEEING MANY CONSUMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN A RECALL BY GM. THERE ARE CLAIMS OF OTHER MECHANICS BEING ABLE TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE AT A PRETTY HEFTY COST. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THREE TIMES WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH AND A HALF I OWNED THE USED 04 TRAILBLAZER. IT SEEMS COMMON FROM WHAT MOST PEOPLE POSTED ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ANYWHERE FROM 35 - 55K MILES. THE GAS TANK WOULD CONSTANTLY RELEASE AN ODOR AND I WOULD GET DIZZY EVERY TIME I DROVE THE TRUCK. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST A LEAK IN THE GAS CAP AND THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED (ONE WEEK LATER), THE S.E..LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE NECK OF THE TANK AND THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I PICKED IT UP TODAY AFTER IT WAS REPLACED AND TOTALED TO $1,430. GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HOPEFULLY THE LETTER THAT I HAVE WRITTEN TO THEM WILL SOLVE THIS ISSUE AND THAT I WILL EITHER BE REIMBURSED OR COMPENSATED SOMEHOW FOR LOST WORK AND INTEREST PAID ON THIS BILL. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEB 2008. I OPENED THE HATCH FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WHEN I LIFTED THE HATCH, I BEGAN TO HEAR A LOT OF BREAKING AND BOLTS FLYING. I GOT IT TO CLOSE SECURELY AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. THEN ONE DAY, I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK AND THE BACK HATCH BEGAN TO SHAKE. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS IN WHICH THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
