AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHEN IT TRIES TO SHIFT INTO 3RD OR 4TH GEAR, I READ THAT THERE WAS A REPORT ON THIS HAPPENING BUT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL AS FAR AS I KNOW, I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHO SAYS THEY NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAPER WORK FROM GM ABOUT DOING REPAIRS. MY QUESTION IS WILL GM REPAIR THIS CONDITION AT NO COST TO ME?
I'VE BEEN GETTING A RAW SMELL OF GAS WHILE DRIVING.
AFTER FUELING,WHEN DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY THE SMELL OF GAS FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE VERY STRONG DIFFICULTYSTARTING AND NOW WONT START AT ALL UPON FURTHER SELF INVESTAGATION FUEL IS COMIMING OUT ON TOP OF FUEL TANKSMALL HOLES SEEM TO EXIST WHERE FUEL IS COMING OUT HOW EVER I CANT GET IN FAR ENOUGH TO SEE THIS WAS DETERMINED BY FEELING AROUND ON THE FUEL TANK.
THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AT OUR HOME. MY HUSBAND WENT OUT TO START IT AND HE TURNED THE IGNITION KEY AND THE FRONT AIRBAGS EXPLODED ON BOTH SIDES. THE SALESMAN AT MCGRATH CHEVYLAND TOOK PHOTOS. THEY WERE TO GET AHOLD OF US THE EARLY PART OF THIS WEEK AND WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING.
LET ME BEGIN WITH STATING THAT MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER HAS HAD ITS SERVICE ENGINE SOON (SES) LIGHT ON FOR WELL OVER A YEAR DUE TO A LARGE EVAP LEAK (CODE P0455). AS A RESULT, I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO MECHANICS, HAD THE PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REPLACED TWICE, HAD A PLETHORA OF SMOKE TESTS AND ALL OTHER TESTS DONE, WITH NO RESOLVE. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM (DATED A YEAR BEFORE) JUST A COUPLE WEEKS AGO STATING THAT "SOME 2004 MODEL YEAR CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES MAY CONTAIN A FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE (ICV) THAT COULD FRACTURE.. A FRACTURED ICV COULD ALLOW FUEL VAPORS TO PASS THROUGH AND DROPLETS OF FUEL TO ACCUMULATE ON THE SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK". THE LETTER GOES ON TO DESCRIBE THAT GM WILL REPAIR THE ICV IF THE CONDITION OCCURS WITHIN 15 YEARS THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. MY TRAILBLAZER HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR 12 YEARS, HOWEVER I JUST PASSED 155,000 MILES. HAD I BEEN NOTIFIED AROUND THE TIME THE LETTER WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE, I COULD HAVE EASILY TAKEN MY TRAILBLAZER TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THIS REPAIR DONE WITH NO QUALMS. HOWEVER, BECAUSE I HAVE PASSED THE 150,000 MILE MARK, GM REFUSES TO COVER THIS REPAIR. THIS IS EXTREMELY UPSETTING CONSIDERING THE OBVIOUS SAFETY RISK PRESENTED WITH "DROPLETS OF FUEL ACCUMULATING ON THE SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK". WHEN SPEAKING TO A GM REPRESENTATIVE THIS MORNING, I WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND THIS WOULD BE AN OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSE. CONSIDERING THE SAFETY ISSUE, I WANT MY TRAILBLAZER TO BE REPAIRED AND COVERED BY GM AS IT SHOULD BE FOR ALL TRAILBLAZER AND ENVOY OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM.
ON JUNE 11 2016 AT 5:00AM WHILE DRIVING MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, I USED MY HIGH BEAM TO RETURN HOME FROM BY PASS HIGHWAY 15MILES. ONCE HOME TRIED THE MANUAL SWITCH TO SEE IF LIGHTS WOULD COME ON . NO LOW BEAM BUT HIGH BEAM WORKED. COUPLE OF DAYS LATER AT DEALERSHIP THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I NOTICE ON OCCASION THE LOW BEAMS WERE NOT ON WHEN DRIVING WITH THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS WHEN I PULL BEHIND A CAR I WOULD SWITCH TO HIGH BEAM WHICH DID WORK. ON 18OCT 2016 TIME 7:45 THE LIGHTS LOW BEAM DID NOT COME ON WHEN STARTING MY TRUCK. I TRIED THE HIGH BEAM AND IT WORKED. HAD TO DRIVE 10 MILES ON CITY STREET TO GET HOME ON HIGH BEAM. AFTER GETTING HOME I PLAYED WITH SWITCH SWITCHING FROM MANUALLY TO RUNNING THE LOW BEAM CAME ON AFTE I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON WITH LIGHT ON THE MANUALLY POSITION. PLEASE HELP DEALER CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE OR DUPLICATE IT NEITHER CAN I.. I TRAVEL ALONE AND FEMALE I CAN'T HAVE THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE TO GET REPAIRED. ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, THE MOISTURE SENSITIVE WIPER SYSTEM DID NOT DETECT MOISTURE. AS A RESULT, THE WIPERS STARTED TO MALFUNCTION AND OPERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V046000 (VISIBILITY/WPIER). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DROPS TO ZERO CAUSING "CHECK GAUGES" LIGHT TO COME ON AND ENGINE TO STALL WHEN THE A/C IS RUNNING AND AM STOPPED AT A LIGHT IN THE CITY. THIS ONLY OCCURS ONCE DURING A TRIP OR ONCE A MONTH. UNDERSTAND THAT TRAILBLAZERS HAVE A HISTORY OF GAUGE PROBLEMS AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR ELECTRICAL WIRING/GAUGES.
WHEN TURNING THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF FROM THE RUN POSITION WHILE IN PARK, THE SWITCH SLIPS INTO THE ACCESSORIES POSITION WITH NO EFFORT TO TURN THE KEY. TRUCK WILL NOT TURN OFF OF ASSESORIY POSITION UNTIL I WIGGLE THE KEY FOR A WHILE. THE KEY CAN BE REMOVED AFTER TURNING OFF TRUCK BUT REMAINS ON ASSESORY. HAPPENS EVERY TIME. BEEN DOING THIS FOR A WEEK NOW.[8-03-16 TO PRESENT]
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A FUEL CAP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL HOSE HAD A TEAR AND THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN: 09V419000 ( FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 162,000.
3RD TIME REPLACING LOW BEAM LIGHT ONLY HIGH BEAM WORKS NOW LOW BEAM OUT AGAIN

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE DEALER FOR FOUR WEEKS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND NEEDED TO BE ORDERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS FILED REPORTS. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. UPDATED 08/16/16*LJ CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER BEHIND HIM NOTIFIED HIM THAT THE FIRE WAS COMING FRONT UNDERNEATH OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO SIGNAL OR INDICATION THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS TURN OFF WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. HIGH BEAM HEAD LIGHTS STILL WORK. TURN MOTOR OFF AND LET VEHICLE SET FOR A FEW MINUTES, THEN LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS WILL WORK AGAIN.
AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED THAT MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD BLINK. THEN ANOTHER TIME THEY KEEP CUTTING ON AND OFF. SO THE OTHER DAY AS I WAS DRIVING THEY CUT OFF AND WOULD NEVER CUT BACK ON EVEN WHEN I WOULD TURN THE KNOB FOR THEM TO CUT BACK ON. I WOULD HAVE TO CUT ON MY BRIGHT LIGHTS IN ORDER TO SEE.
ELECTRICAL FIRE STARTED IN DRIVER DOOR WHILE TRUCK WAS PARKED AND NOT RUNNING. IT WAS A TOTAL LOSS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL AND A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD, NECK, AND KNEE INJURIES. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED SHOULDER, NECK, KNEE, AND ANKLE INJURIES. BOTH INJURIES REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
DRIVING ON HWY 178 AT ABOUT 9 PM AND THE FRONT HEAD LIGHTS AND TURNED COMPLETELY OFF. I MOVED LIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF AND MY LIGHT WOULD NOT GO BACK NO ON.....ALSO WHILE DRIVING THE KERN CANYON HWY 178 TAKING THE CURVES MY INGINE SHUT OFF AND STEERING AND BRAKES LOCKED UP THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MILE SPEED.
MY VEHICLE IS IN THE GM SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM NUMBER 07099 AND IS UNDER THE GM SPL COVERAGE PGM UPDATE 14423. I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE ICV COULD FRACTURE AND CREATE AN 'ENGINE SERVICE SOON' LIGHT. THAT LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED IN FEBRUARY. I TOOK IT IN, IT'S THE ICV. THEY SAID THEY'D REPLACE THE FUEL TANK AS SOON AS THEY COULD GET PARTS. THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT -- AND SAY IT COULD BE MAY OR JUNE. MEANWHILE THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT COULD BE ON FOR ICV -- OR IT COULD BE ANOTHER PROBLEM. WITH DRIPPING FUEL OUT IN THE OPEN, IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD -CAN'T BE USED ON A TRIP AND CAN'T BE SOLD/TRADED AS IT'S DEFECTIVE.
GAS LEAKING AT FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AT 15 DEGREES F. SMELL OF GAS FUMES IN TRUCK LEAD ME TO INVESTIGATE PROBLEM. CAR WAS NOT MOVING. USED REMOTE START ON COLD DAY, GOT IN TRUCK AND SMELL FUMES @ 10AM SATURDAY MORNING. FULL DAYLIGHT, SAW GAS COMMING FROM SEAL OF PART, FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.
THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2004. SINCE THAT TIME THE WATER PUMP HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE YIELDING A TOTAL OF THREE WATER PUMPS. AS OF THIS WRITING THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SOLELY USED FOR PRIVATE USE NOT COMMERCIAL USE. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 85,000 MILES ON IT. THREE WATER PUMPS IN 85000 MILES IS WRONG AS THERE IS NO LONGEVITY TO THE PART. THE PROBLEM WAS NOTICED IN MOTION AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION DAMAGE IF NOT STOPPED IIMMEADIATELY.
I WAS RECENTLY IN A CAR ACCIDENT DUE TO BAD WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS. LEAVING WORK DRIVING INTERSTATE I89 9STATE NORTHBOUND. CAME UPON BLACK ICE MY CAR FISHTAILED OUT OF CONTROL ; TRYING TO GAIN CONTROL BACK BEFORE I KNEW IT I WAS HEADING TORDS A GUARD RAIL. I WAS ONLY DRIVING 50 TO 55MPH. BEYOND THE GUARD RAIL I DO NOT REMEMBER. I SUFFERED UPPERBODY AND HEAD INJURY AND MY FRONT AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. OTHERS ARE TELLING ME AND MY HUSBAND TO LOOK INTO THIS AS MY AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. CAN YOU HELP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. AFTER PLUGGING IN A TIRE INFLATOR INTO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER PORT, THE VEHICLE FILLED WITH BLACK SMOKE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY REMOVED THE TIRE INFLATOR FROM THE PORT AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE FROM SMOKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BOX, WIRING HARNESS, AND VARIOUS OTHER INTERNAL COMPONENTS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
WHILE TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON 192 IN OSCEOLA COUNTY BETWEEN NARCOOSSEE ROAD AND NOVA ROAD THERE WERE SEVERAL BARRICADES 4 TO 5 INCHES IN THE TRAFFIC LANE. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE WITH THE BARRICADES OVER THE YELLOW LINE ON THE LEFT-HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS TOOK PLACE AT APPROXIMATELY 8:15 AM WHILE TAKING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOO, DURING THE MORNING TIME TRAFFIC. MY VEHICLE STRUCK A LARGE ROUND ORANGE BARRICADE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO MANEUVER AND AVOIDANCE HOWEVER I WAS TRAVELING NEXT TO A SEMI AND WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. AS A RESULT MY VEHICLE NOW HAS A SCRATCH ON THE LEFT SIDE. I THEN CALLED DOT TO REPORT THE DAMAGES AND TO HAVE THE SITE INVESTIGATED FOR FUTURE INCIDENCES. THE COMPANY CONDUCTING THE CONSTRUCTION WORK IS JR DAVIS CONSTRUCTION. THERE IS NOT A PULL OFF ZONE OR A PLACE I FELT SAFE STOPPING TO DIRECTLY SPEAK WITH AN INDIVIDUAL IN CHARGE. I TRAVEL THIS ROAD SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND HAVE NEVER SEEN THE BARREL BARRICADES IN THE ROAD AS THEY WERE THIS MORNING.
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE GAUGE INDICATORS ALL SPIKE AND DO NOT ACCURATELY REPRESENT WHAT IS GOING ON. FOR EXAMPLE IT DOES NOT SHOW HOW FAST I'M GOING OR HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD.

DASH CLUSTER, READS BELOW 0 OR OVER 100MPH AT TIMES, SOMETIMES STICKS AT 5 OR 10MPH. SOMETIMES BURIES SPEEDOMETER AND TACH, ALL DASH LIGHTS COME ON AND CAR WILL SHUT DOWN AT SPEEDS OVER 60MPH. THIS SOULD BE RECALLED! HAVE READ OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS ON ALL CAR FORUMS AND COMPLAINT SITES AND OTHER GOOGLE INQUIRIES AS WELL.DIDN'T.
RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM REGARDING POTENTIAL PROBLEM WITH FUEL TANK INLET VALVE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER LEN STOLER, INC IN WESTMINSTER MD IN DECEMBER. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FUEL TANK INLET VALVE FRACTURE. ON DEC 3RD 2015 FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED AND INSPECTION DONE. SUBSEQUENT TO SERVICE WHEN FUEL WAS PLACED IN VEHICLE GAS POURED OUT ON PAVEMENT. PRIOR TO THAT SERVICE THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE ONLY THE SMELL OF FUEL IN THE INTERIOR AND A FEW DROPS OF FUEL NOTED. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER AND PROBLEM NOW DIAGNOSED AS INLET PIPE FRACTURE. WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SERVICE, DESPITE SERVICE DEPT HAVING NOT MENTIONED THIS WHEN FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED AND VEHICLE INSPECTED AND LEFT DEALER IN UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITION. PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD DRIVE IT AND HAVE WORK DONE LATER. SINCE THIS PART IS CONNECTED TO FUEL TANK SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTICED WHEN FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED AND WORK DONE AT THAT TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK CODE AT THE EVAPORATION SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,300.

ON NOVEMBER 19, 2015, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHEVROLET, P.O. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE 1-800-222-1020 PHONE NUMBER INCLUDED IN THE LETTER AND THE GENTLEMEN I SPOKE WITH CALLED MY NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALER, NIMNICHT CHEVROLET, JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, AND ASKED THEM TO CALL ME TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE SITUATION INVESTIGATED. THEY DID NOT CALL ME AND THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM CHEVROLET CALLED BACK TO CONFIRM THAT I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH NIMNICHT AND I INFORMED HIM THEY HAD NOT CALLED. HE IMMEDIATELY CALLED THEM BACK AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT SET UP FOR ME, WHICH WAS NOT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, AT 8:00 A.M. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN, WHICH HAS ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS LISTED, I.E. GASOLINE SMELL, SES LIGHT ON SOLID FOR A WHILE, THEN BEGINS BLINKING, AND WILL GO BACK TO SOLID, TERRIBLE GAS MILEAGE AND WHEN SITTING STILL WITH ENGINE RUNNING, ENGINE ACTS AS IF IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF. WITHIN TEN MINUTES OF MY ARRIVING AT THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE MY MILEAGE WAS OVER 150,000. THE DATE I RECEIVED THE LETTER, THE MILEAGE WAS 151,872 AND BY THE TIME I GOT AN APPOINTMENT, IT WAS 152,000 PLUS. AFTER LETTING ME SIT IN THEIR WAITING ROOM, AND MY ASKING THEM TO PLEASE CALL CHEVROLET TO SEE IF SOME TYPE OF EXCEPTION COULD BE MADE, THE LADY CAME BACK AND OFFERED ME A "REAL DEAL" OF $903.00 TO REPAIR IT. SHE TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO CALL CHEVROLET ON A CUSTOMER'S BEHALF. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT, IF THE LETTER WERE MAILED TO ME ON NOVEMBER 1, THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS THAN 150,000 MILES. I FEEL THEY SHOULD HAVE TO REPAIR IT. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.

IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, AND FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
GM ISSUED SPECIAL COVERAGE PROGRAM 14423 TO REPAIR LEAKING GAS TANK AND THERE ARE NO PAIRS AVAILABLE. LETTER WAS ISSUED IN NOV 2015, RECEIVED DEC 2015, WENT TO LOVE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP JAN 2016 PARTS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL JULY 2016. THIS IS UNSAFE AND UNACCEPTABLE.
I OWN A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND JUST LIKE THE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS MINE HAS A DEFECTIVE GAS TANK FILLER ON THE TOP OF THE TANK. IT'S A KNOWN BAD PART FEOM THE FACTORY. MINE HAS HAD A HOLE FOR A WHILE NOW. IT CAN LITERALLY LEAK OVER 10 GALLONS OF GAS A DAY IF YOU FILL THE TANK TO FULL. EVEN IF YOU DON'T THE SMELL OF GAS IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE OF IT. IT RUNS LIKE CRAP BECAUSE OF IT. WHAT'S MORE DANGEROUS THAN SPILLING GAS EVERYWHERE YOU GO!? SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD CHEVY PAY FOR THE REPAIRS ON THERE 2004 TRAILBLAZER. LOOK IT SHOULDN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR VIN# IS OR HOW MANY MILES AT THIS POINT (I JUST HIT 150,000) THE GAS TANKS ON THESE VEHICLES ARE FAULTY, THEY'RE DANGEROUS, THEY'RE EXSPENSIVE. I SURELY DONT HAVE $800-$1500 LAYING AROUND TO FIX A PART THAT IS KNOWN AND PROVEN TO BE BAD. WE ALL KNOW TBEY ARE BAD, CHEVROLET KNOWS IT, THE NHTSA KNOWS IT. THE KICKER IS YOU CANT EVEN FIND USED GAS TANKS FOR THESE THINGS TO SAVE MONEY. EVERY SINGLE ONE IS JUNK OR ALREADY REPLACED ONE THAT WAS JUNK. IT IS COMPLETELY CRAZY THAT THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES WHERE NEVER PROBABLY TAKEN CARE OF IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE WITH THE GAS TANKS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE ON THE GEAR SHIFT MECHANISM AND WAS NOT ABLE TO VIEW WHAT GEAR THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE BATTERY, THE SEAT BELT AND THE BRAKES WARNING LIGHTS RANDOMLY ILLUMINATED AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE INLET CHECK VALVE IS FRACTURED AND CHEVY WILL NOT DO ANY REPAIRS DUE TO THE MILEAGE BEING OVER 150000
I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. THE SHIFTER HANDLE MOVED FREELY BUT WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. MY VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK. LUCKILY, THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN MY GARAGE AT LUNCHTIME HEADED BACK TO WORK. WHEN I SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET ABOUT WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE, I SAW THAT OTHER GM VEHICLES HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR A BROKEN SHIFTER CABLE. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER AND EXPLAINED MY PROBLEM, HE SAID THAT IT WAS PROBABLY A BROKEN SHIFTER CABLE AND THAT HE HAD TOWED OTHER TRAILBLAZERS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT THE VEHICLES HAD BEEN PART OF A RECALL YEARS AGO. I HAD NOT FOUND A RECALL FOR MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE, BUT THAT OTHER GM VEHICLES HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THAT REASON IS WHY I AM FILING THIS REPORT. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE REPAIRED AND WILL UPLOAD THE REPAIR INVOICE.
IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND WAS LOCKED TO "ON" POSITION. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A LOCAL SERVICE STATION WHERE THEY INSTALLED A REPLACED THE KEY CYLINDER FOR THE COST OF $345. I BELIEVE THIS MAY BE RELATED TO THE EARLIER RECALL OF OTHER GM MODELS RECALLED DUE TO IGNITION ISSUES. I DID NOT CONTACT THE DEALER AS I NEEDED TO GET IT REPAIRED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
I BELIEVE THE PERSON THAT SOLD US THE TRAILBLAZER KNEW IT WAS A LEMON AND WE BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH FINANCE COMPANY AND PROFESSIONAL FINANCIAL SERVICES IS A SHADY COMPANY ALONE WITH NATHANS AUTO SALES. I HAVE TWO DISABLES CHILDREN AND THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE THEIR TRANSPORTATION TO SURGERIES THERAPY AND SCHOOL. IT STAYS BROKEN DOWN ALL THE TOME WITHIN A YEAR IT HAS BEEN WORKED ON 15 TIMES ALSO THE LINKAGE TO THEM SHIFTIER IS BROKEN. I CAN'T AFFORD TO PA FOR A CAR INSURANCE AND WORK ON THIS VEHICLE EVERY WEEK. SAVANNAH TIRE IS A RIP OFF TOO THEY CANNOT DO ENGINE JUST CHANGE OIL. LEMON LA AND CRAPPY MECHANIC WORK.
THE METALLIC FUEL PUMP LINES LOCATED ON TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP CORRODED THROUGH, LEAKING GAS ONTO THE GROUND WHENEVER THE ENGINE WAS ON. THIS VEHICLE HAS 155,000 MILES ON IT AND IS NOW 11 YEARS OLD. TO QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED, THE CAR HAD TO BE LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD OR AND HAVE LESS THAN 125,000 MILES. THE RECALL PERIOD FOR THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE OLDER VEHICLES.
ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 1, 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:55PM MY MOTHER WAS INVOLVED IN A 1 CAR ACCIDENT ON BAUM RD LOCATED IN TALLAHASSEE, FL. SHE WAS THE ONLY PASSENGER DETERMINED TO BE IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. ACCORDING TO THE CRASH REPORT, D1 (DRIVER ONE) WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON BAUM RD GOING THE NORMAL POSTED SPEED OF 55MPH, WHEN SHE VEERED TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE RD AND SUDDENLY TURNED RIGHT VEERING OF THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE RD AND STRIKING SEVERAL TREES ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND FRONT END. D1 WAS WEARING HER SEATBELT AND MANAGED TO EXIT OUT THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW BEFORE COMING TO HER FINAL RESTING PLACE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE RD. WHEN I WENT TO RETRIEVE MY MOTHERS THINGS FROM HER TRAILBLAZER, I NOTICED THAT NO AIR BAGS HAD DEPLOYED. AND AS FAST AS MY MOM WAS GOING AND THE TYPE OF IMPACT & DAMAGE HER SUV SUSTAINED, I WOULD THINK AND HOPE THE AIRBAGS WOULD DEPLOY IN THIS TYPE OF ACCIDENT, THUS PREVENTING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. MY MOM WAS NOT SO LUCKY, AND MYSELF AND MY FAMILY HAVE ENDURED GREAT PAIN FROM LOOSING HER SO SUDDENLY.
MY FUEL TANK HAS A HOLE IN IT. I HAVE FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA AND ALSO WITH GM. AN NHTSA WORKER HELPED ME A LOT AND WHEN I CALLED GM AND CHEVY BACK I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH ME. I HAVE TRIED TO GET IT FIXED BUT NO ONE IS ABLE TO HELP. I HAVE TRIED MANY PLACES FOR USED FUEL TANKS BUT EVERYONE SAYS THAT THE ENVOYS AND TRAILBLAZERS THAT THEY HAVE ALL HAVE THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. I CANNOT GET ANY HELP FROM GM OR CHEVY.

DURING HIGH SPEEDS (INTERSTATE/LONG-DISTANCE DRIVING) THERE IS A VIBRATING NOISE ON MY WINDSHIELD. THIS STARTED YEARS AGO; AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE NOISE WAS MY ANTENNA. I CHECKED IT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SECURE AND IT WAS, SO I DISMISSED THE NOISE. I DON'T DO A LOT OF LONG-DISTANCE OR INTERSTATE DRIVING, SO IT WAS A WHILE BEFORE I HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN. EVER SINCE I HAVE DISMISSED IT AS WIND NOISE AT HIGH SPEEDS. DURING MY INTERNET RESEARCH OF A RECENT MECHANICAL PROBLEM, I CAME ACROSS INFORMATION FOR IMPROPER WINDSHIELD MOUNTING AND LIFT GATE GLASS MOUNTING ON OTHER GM VEHICLES. ALTHOUGH I DID NOT FIND RECALL INFORMATION FOR MY MAKE/MODEL/YEAR, I AM FILING THIS REPORT BECAUSE OF WINDSHIELD NOISE AND POTENTIAL WINDSHIELD AND LIFT GATE GLASS FAILURE ON MY VEHICLE. NOW THAT I KNOW ABOUT THIS POSSIBLE DEFECT, I WILL TRY TO AVOID INTERSTATE DRIVING OR TRY TO DRIVE 60 MPH OR BELOW. I RECENTLY HAD TO TRAVEL FOR A FUNERAL 5 HOURS AWAY BUT RENTED A VEHICLE INSTEAD OF DRIVING MY OWN. IN THE REPORT DATE, I HAVE INSERTED THE DATE OF THE LAST INTERSTATE TRAVEL THAT WAS MADE IN MY VEHICLE.

DRIVING I-85 NORTH BOUND ON THE MORNING ON 6/15/2015 HEADED TO WORK WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT CAUSING MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER TO CROSS OVER INTO ANOTHER LANE THEN BACK INTO THE LANE I WAS IN, SPIN UNCONTROLLABLE, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SPINNING AND THEN THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT DOWN, STEERING WHEEL LOCKS, THE CAR COMES TO A STOP AND SLAMS INTO A GUARD RAIL WHERE I AM FACING SOUTH BOUND TRAFFIC, NONE OF MY AIR BAGS DEPLOY, I HAVE A NECK AND BACK INJURY THAT TO THIS DAY I AM STILL BEING TREATED FOR AND MY PASSENGER WHO WAS A COWORKER RIDING TO WORK WITH ME THAT MORNING ALSO HAD A BACK INJURY. MY VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY INSURANCE COMPANY COULD NOT BE REPAIRED, LOST TIME FROM WORK, STILL HAVE MEDICAL BILLS, OCCURRING, ALTHOUGH I HAVE FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE BUT BECAUSE IT WAS A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT LOSS WAGES. JUST HAD THESE TIRES PUT ON MY TRUCK ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, HEARD ABOUT PEOPLE PASSING THESE BAD TIRES ON AS NEW TIRES , DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS THE CASE OR NOT. DON'T KNOW WHY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, DON'T KNOW WHY STEERING WHEEL SPIN THEN LOCKED UP, THANK GOD IT WAS NOT WORSE! STATE TROOPER SAID IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE FROM THE WAY I LANDED.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FILTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED THE FILLER INLET WAS ALSO CRACKED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL PUMP, THE FUEL FILTER, AND THE HOSE WERE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE FUEL TANK FILLER INLET WAS NOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,869.
