TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE HAD ABNORMAL WEAR AND WAS LEAKING. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V455000 (STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS) WAS REFERENCED FOR THE 2006 MODELS, WHICH WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 03-04-08 *BF
THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE STARTED ACTING ERRATIC AND NO FAIL TO ACCURATELY TELL ME HOW FAST THAT I AM GOING. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND GMAC HAS A RECALL ON THE SAME CLUSTER THAT IS USED ON SIMILAR VEHICLES. I OWN A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH 69,000 MILES ON IT. I USE THE VEHICLE TO TRAVEL BACK AND FORTH TO WORK TOTALING 100+ MILES PER DAY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TACHOMETER NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD STICK AT THE BOTTOM AND FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON , JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AT THE TIME. GARAGE FOUND LEAK IN FUEL TANK FILL NECK. GASOLINE SMELL. *TR
MY ODOMETER ONE DAY STOPPED WORKING AND THEN IT WOULD START WORKING AGAIN. A FEW DAYS LATER MY SPEEDOMETER STARTED MESSING UP. EVERY TIME IT WOULD DO THAT I WOULD HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TURN IT OFF AND START IT UP AGAIN. I WOULD HAVE TO KEEP DOING THIS UNTIL THE SPEEDOMETER WENT BACK TO WORKING. THIS WORKED FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND NOW MY SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK ALONG WITH MY ODOMETER AND THE REST OF MY GAUGES. THE ONLY GAUGE THAT DOES WORK IS MY GAS GAUGE. THIS IS A PROBLEM CHEVY HAS RECALLED ON OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT 2004 TRAILBLAZERS. THEY RECALLED 2004 CHEVY VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NOT TRAILBLAZERS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *TR
MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER'S SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER MALFUNCTIONED. EVERYONE I SPOKE TO, INCLUDING GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE REPAIRMAN, SEEMED TO KNOW IMMEDIATELY IT WAS A DEFECTIVE CLUSTER. THIS IS COVERED ON OTHER GM VEHICLES BUT NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. THERE ARE MANY CASES ONLINE WHERE IT IS OBVIOUS IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT/KNOWN PROBLEM. MY DAUGHTER RECEIVED A SPEEDING TICKET FOR GOING 49 IN A 40 WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWED SHE WAS WITHIN THE MPH LIMIT. IT WAS SHORTLY AFTER THAT WE REALIZED THE PROBLEM. MY SITUATION OCCURRED ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO AGO. YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING WITH A FRIEND WHO HAD THE SAME VEHICLE AND HE MENTIONED HIS SPEEDOMETER WAS ACTING UP. I TOLD HIM EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AND HE IS LOOKING INTO THE REPAIR. I FEEL THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD AND INCONVENIENCE AND SINCE SO MANY ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM GM SHOULD COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. *TR
DASHBOARD SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER METERS DO NOT WORK. EVERY ONCE AND AWHILE THE DIALS WILL COME ON, BUT MOST OF THE TIME THEY DO NOT WORK. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATES ITS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL CHARGE OVER 400.00 DOLLARS TO FIX PROBLEM. *TR
I OWN A '04 TRAILBLAZER AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE STARTED STICKING. THEN TEMP. GAUGE WAS STICKING , BATTERY GAUGE STUCK, AND SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN A YEAR AND DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE THE DASH CLUSTER. IF GM CAN ISSUE A RECALL ON THE OTHER VEHICLES SOMEBODY SHOULD FORCE THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THE TRAILBLAZERS ALSO. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT US THE CONSUMERS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER. HE WAS INFORMED THAT BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE INOPERABLE. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE, CHECKED THE FUSE PANEL, AND NOTICED THAT THE FUSE WAS STILL GOOD. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V527000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS). THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT OBLIGATED TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THEIR ESTABLISHMENT FOR INSPECTION. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,624 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,589.
SPEEDODOMETER AND RPM CLUSTERS MALFUNCTIONS,WHY
FAILURE OF INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON 2004 CHEV TRAILBLAZER. THE TACH WENT BAD AT 52,500 MILES AND MY SPEEDOMETER FAILED ABOUT 4,000 MILES AFTER THAT. IT IS STUCK AT 120 MILES PER HOUR EVEN WHEN THE UNIT IS PARKED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER ONTO THE HIGHWAY ON JANUARY 4, 2008 AND THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO. AFTER WE STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT JUMPED UP AND DOWN AND THEN STEADIED AROUND 50 MPH EVEN THOUGH WE HAD TO BE TRAVELING FASTER THAN THAT TO KEEP UP WITH THE TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE. NOW WHEN IT IDLES, THE SPEEDOMETER INTERMITTENTLY CATCHES. BUD WOLF CHEVROLET SAID ON MONDAY, JANUARY 7TH, THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM FREE OF CHARGE AS THE TRAILBLAZERS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS A NUMBER OF OTHER GM SUV'S AND TRUCKS. (THEY FIXED 5 TRAILBLAZERS IN THE PAST MONTH THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SPEEDOMETER). HOWEVER, I LEARNED THAT THEY WERE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR TODAY. WHEN I CALLED OTHER DEALERS, AND CHEVROLET'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, MANY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS ARE UNHAPPY BECAUSE THEY ARE EITHER HAVING TO PAY $500 FOR THE REPAIR OR DRIVE THEIR VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY SPEEDOMETER BECAUSE THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
SPEEDOMETER IN VEHICLE HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WHEN PARKED THE SPEEDOMETER IS INDICATING SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 50 AND 90 MPH WHEN DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER WILL TRAVEL SPORADICALLY UP FROM ITS START POINT UNTIL IT REACHES ITS MAX LOCATION. WHEN SLOWING OR STOPPING THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SOMETIMES TRAVEL BACK TOWARDS ITS START POINT, SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT. I DO CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE THAT GM SHOULD ADDRESS. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET HAS REVEALED 100'S OF OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM IN TRAILBLAZERS, AS WELL AS WITH GMC YUKON'S, SIERRA PICK UPS, CHEVY TAHOE'S, AVALANCHE'S, AND SILVERADO'S. THERE HAS BEEN AN EXTENSION OF THE WARRANTY ON SEVERAL MODELS TO REPAIR THIS DEFECTIVE GAUGE CLUSTER, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE TRAILBLAZER HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS EXTENSION. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED IT STILL REGISTERS 15 - 20 MPH. I HAVE READ REPORTS OF THIS PROBLEM ALL OVER THE INTERNET BUT GM IS NOT ISSUING A RECALL OR SERVICE BULLETIN THAT ANYONE WILL ADMIT TO. OVERALL THIS TRUCK HAS SERVED MY FAMILY WELL, BUT THIS IS MY WIFE'S TRUCK (OUR MAIN VEHICLE) AND I NEED EVERYTHING TO WORK PROPERLY. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE SHE TRAVELS WITH OUR CHILDREN AND WE NEED A VERY DEPENDABLE VEHICLE. IF THIS WAS AN ISOLATED PROBLEM I COULD UNDERSTAND THE REPAIR AT MY EXPENSE, BUT REPORT OF THIS PROBLEM ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. GM SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.*CN
SPEEDOMETER IS INCORRECT. IT WILL START OFF FINE BUT AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 10 MIN THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WILL START FALLING TO 0 AT A SLOW PACE. *TR
"SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT WOULD FLASH ON THEN IMMEDIATELY OFF, TRUCK WOULD FEEL LIKE IT MOMENTARILY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. RECENTLY THE FUSES FOR ALL THE GAUGES HAVE BEEN BLOWING OUT REPETITIVELY. THE SPEEDOMETER DOES IT MORE THAN THE OTHERS. HAVE REPLACED THEM SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS. CHEVY WAS HELPFULLY "GUESSING" AT FIRST BUT FINALLY TOLD US THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TOWARDS THE END OF OUR 3 YEAR WARRANTY. WE HAVEN'T TAKEN IT BACK TO THEM FOR THE ONGOING PROBLEMS. *TR
I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THE TAC AND SPEEDOMETER GO HAYWIRE AND THEN GO DEAD WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I BROUGHT IT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A FAULTY GAUGE CLUSTER THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM ALREADY RECALLED IN OTHER GM VEHICLES. THE SERVICE TECH WAS ABLE TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY CABLE AND RESET THE GAUGES BUT THEY STILL AREN'T FIXED. I HAVE BEEN READING MULTITUDES OF COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT MADE A STOP AND NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER READ 100 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL GAUGE DIAL FAILED. SHE DOES NOT KNOW IF THE GAS TANK IS FULL OR EMPTY. SHE WILL TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,100.
I OWN A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WHICH STARTED GIVING ME PROBLEMS ALMOST AS SOON AS THE WARRANTY WAS OVER. MOST OF THE GAUGES (SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, BATTERY INDICATOR, ETC...) IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ARE NOT FUNCTIONING OR FUNCTION ONLY SPORADICALLY AND ERRATICALLY. ALSO THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY. I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE AND THAT GM EVEN SUED (AND WON) THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MANUFACTURER. HOWEVER NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED ON TRAILBLAZERS, MEANWHILE OTHER GM VEHICLES (I.E. CHEVY SILVERADO) THAT USES THE SAME INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THEREBY HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN RECALLED. GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO EXHIBIT THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED TO EVERY VEHICLE THEY BUILT WHICH USED THIS FAULTY AND FAILURE PRONE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALL GAUGES FLUCTUATE CONSTANTLY OR STOP WORKING AT TIMES. YOU NEVER KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING OR IF THE CAR HAS APPROPRIATE FLUIDS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I HAVE FOUND VIA THE INTERNET THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I AM THE FIRST AND ONLY OWNER OF A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. AROUND 25,000 MILES, SES LIGHT CAME ON, GOT SERVICED UNDER WARRANTY WITH A BURNED OUT O2 SENSOR AS THE CAUSE. AT 30, 000 MILES, THE SES LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (OUT OF WARRANTY) AND PAID $80 FOR DIAGNOSTICS. SERVICE REP CAME BACK SAYING VEHICLE WAS FINE, CODES WERE IN THE COMPUTER'S HISTORY AND NO PROBLEMS EXIST. TWO DAYS LATER, SES LIGHT POPS BACK UP. DUE TO THE WEATHER, I GARAGED MY TRAILBLAZER AND BEGAN TO SMELL FUEL INSIDE MY HOUSE, AND WAS EVEN STRONGER IN THE GARAGE. RAW FUEL WAS LEAKING OUT FROM UNDER THE GAS TANK, AND PARTS WERE DOUSED. I CALL GM, EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM AND BASICALLY WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS/SPECIAL REPAIRS ETC. ON 2004 MODELS. THEY DID CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND WILL HAVE A REP CALL ME BACK. *TR
2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER JUMPS, REGISTERS INCORRECTLY IE: 30MPH WHEN GOING 65MPG, OR DOESN'T WORK AT ALL, WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
IN DECEMBER OF 2007 THE SPEEDOMETER IN '04 TRAILBLAZER WITH 45,000 MILES STOPPED WORKING. IT WORKS ON OCCASION, BUT IS NORMALLY STUCK. I FOUND THIS IS DUE TO FAULTY GAGE CLUSTERS AND IS COMMON ON TRAILBLAZERS. A RECALL WAS RECENTLY MADE ON FULL SIZE CHEVY MODELS WITH THE SAME ISSUE, SO I ASK THAT THE RECALL INCLUDE THE TRAILBLAZER MODEL. THE SPEEDOMETER IS A VITAL INSTRUMENT AND IS NEEDED FOR SAFE DRIVING. I SPENT $75 FOR AN ANALYSIS AND WAS STATED THE WHOLE GAGE CLUSTER WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR $600 AS THE STEPPER MOTORS IN THESE MODELS ARE FAULTY. *TR
THE FAILURE INVOLVES THE ELECTRO-MECHANICAL DEVICE THAT SHIFTS THE CAR INTO FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE. THE FOUR-WHEEL IS ENGAGED BY SELECTING 4WD WITH A DASHBOARD SELECTOR SWITCH. THE SWITCH WILL SHOW A LIGHTED INDICATOR MOVING FROM 2WD TO THE 4WD. THIS INDICATION IS FAULTY. WHILE DRIVING TOWARDS A SNOW COVERED MOUNTAIN ROAD WITH SEVERAL SHARP TURNS GOING UP THE MOUNTAIN THE VEHICLES SELECTOR SWITCH WAS MOVED TO THE 4WD POSITION AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWN IT WAS ENGAGE IN THE 4WD MODE. HOWEVER THE INDICATION WAS FAULTY AND THE VEHICLE WAS ACTUALLY ONLY IN 2WD. THE SELECTOR SWITCH ENGAGES AN ACTUATOR THAT CAUSES A FORK TO MOVE THE GEARS IN THE FRONT TRANSFER CASE INTO OR OUT OF 4WD. THE RESULT OF THE FALSE INDICATION OF THE VEHICLE BEING IN 4WD WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY IN 2WD CAUSE THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE TO BREAK TRACTION AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO START INTO A SPIN WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE LEAVING THE ROAD AND DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT THE VEHICLE GAVE A FALSE INDICATION OF BEING IN 4WD WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY IN 2WD. *TR
2004 TRAILBLAZER ,SES LIGHT ON ..CODE..SECONDARY AIR PUMP FAILURE. I REPAIRED $600.00 + NEEDED TO DO SO TO PASS EMISSIONS AND GET NEW PLATES. 2 YRS LATER ,SAME CODE,SAME ACTION REQUIRED TO RE-NEW PLATES. *TR
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE SITTING IN MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER. NO ROCKS WERE THROWN AT THE TRUCK. BASED ON INTERNET RESEARCH IT SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH GM SUV'S. I CALLED THE DEALER TODAY (12/17/07) AND THE SERVICE MANAGER DENIED HAVING ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM. GM/DEALER DENYING ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE RECURRING AS WELL. *TR
CHEVY 2004 TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER FAILS, RESULTING IN INCORRECT READINGS ON THE SPEEDOMETER AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES. *TR
WHEN EXTERIOR TEMPS ARE APPROXIMATELY 25*F OR BELOW, SPEEDOMETER IS COMPLETELY INOP OR READS EXTREMELY LOW (20-30MPH?) AND WHEN AT A STOP THE SPEEDOMETER WILL DROP WELL BELOW "0"MPH. INSTEAD OF A SMOOTH, FLUID MOVEMENT, NEEDLE IS VERY JERKY AND LAGS. AS THE TRUCK WARMS UP THE SYMPTOMS WILL GRADUALLY DISAPPEAR. IN WARMER OUTSIDE TEMPS, THE SPEEDOMETER APPEARS TO WORK NORMALLY. *TR
AT APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES I NOTICED MY SPEEDOMETER CLICKING AT 5MPH INTERVALS. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED WHEN I WAS PULLED OVER GOING 10MPH OVER THE SPEED LIMIT WHEN IT APPEARED I WAS GOING THE POSTED SPEED. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE WHEN MY SPEEDOMETER STARTED STICKING, AND FINALLY ROTATING ALL THE WAY PASSED TOP SPEED BACK TO ZERO. THIS MALFUNCTION SPREAD TO MY TACHOMETER WHERE IT SHOWS I AM TRAVELING AT MORE THAN MORE THAN 11,000 RPMS AT CRUISING SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN MY GAS GAUGE BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. THE READING PUT ME AT NEARLY 200% CAPACITY, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL I HAD. SO I BEGAN USING MY ODOMETER TO GAUGE MY FUEL UNTIL I NOTICED MY ODOMETER READING 2-4 TENTHS OF A MILE EVERY 1/10. I HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED 2 SPEEDING TICKETS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I AM STRANDED OUT OF GAS. I SEE THERE ARE PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE NO IDEA OF ANY RELATED DEATHS OR INJURIES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, BUT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A GM DEFECT NOT RELATED TO REGULAR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MANUFACTURER. TRAILBLAZER REFUSED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY ON THE TRAVEL TRAILER. THE DASH LIGHTS OCCASIONALLY FLICKERED, THEN CAME BACK ON STRONG. GM DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. A LOCAL MECHANIC SIMPLY TOOK THE COVER OFF THE ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION BOX AT THE FRONT RIGHT OF THE ENGINE, THEN PUSHED ALL THE WIRES DEEPER INTO THEIR CONTACT SOCKETS. THAT RESOLVED THE PROBLEMS, AT LEAST UNTIL NOW. NOW THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN, AND IT SAYS IT IS FOR THE PRESSURE SYSTEM. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT READS AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN YOU ARE TRAVELING, OFTEN GOING PAST THE 120 MPH LIMIT ON THE SPEEDOMETER FACE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT LOOKED AT THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE DIAL WAS ON ZERO. THE TACHOMETER WAS OVER 7,000 AND THE OIL GAUGE WAS OVER EIGHTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND HE STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT WORKING. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS THIRTY MILES OFF, THE RPM WAS STUCK AT 4,000, AND THE FUEL TANK VARIED FROM FULL TO HALF. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH CHEVROLET AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 53,253.

WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER WILL GET STUCK AND THEN IT WILL NOT GO BACK TO 0 WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL ALSO AT TIMES SHOW THAT I AM GOING 120MPH+ AND I AM BARELY MOVING OR STOPPED. THE ONLY WAY TO GET BACK TO 0 MPH (IF IT WORKS) IS TO TURN THE TRAILBLAZER ON AND OFF UNTIL IT GOES BACK TO 0. VEHICLE HAS 50,000 MILE'S. I CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THIS HAPPENING. *TR

I OWN A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. IN NOV 2007, THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER STARTED ACTING ERRATICALLY. THE TACHOMETER WOULD SEEM TO STICK AND THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD REGISTER EITHER GROSSLY OVER OR UNDER MY CURRENT SPEED. IT STICKS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AFTER A DECELERATION. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO RESET ONLY AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE ON OR OFF SEVERAL TIMES CONSECUTIVELY. I HAVE BEEN GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT SPEEDS OF 70+ (WITHIN LEGAL SPEED) AND THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SHOW -5 MPH. ALSO, I HAVE BEEN GOING APPROX. 60MPH AND THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS 90+MPH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT IN NOV 2007 AND AT THE TIME, THEIR INSTRUMENTS COULDN'T DETECT A PROBLEM MILEAGE AT TIME OF FAILURE APPROX. 104,000 (HAD A 100,000 WARRANTY). THEY CHARGED A $100 DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO TELL ME THEY DIDN'T SEE A PROBLEM. CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROX. 134,000. I HAVE NOT HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED. *TR
UPON ATTEMPTING TO HAVE MY TIRE SERVICED AT A LOCAL FIRESTONE SERVICE CENTER I WAS INFORMED BY MANAGER THERE THAT ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES ON MY VEHICLE WERE DEFECTIVE, TREAD COULD SEPARATE FROM TIRE, AND THAT THEY WOULD THEREFORE NOT PERFORM ANY SERVICE. ALL TIRES SHOW CRACKING AT BASE OF TREAD WHERE IT MEATS THE SIDEWALL ALL THE WAY AROUND EACH TIRE. THESE TIRES ARE ORIGINAL TIRES PURCHASED ON NEW GM '04 TRAILBLAZER IN FEBRUARY OF THAT YEAR.
