TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL REMEDY FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE OPENED THE LIFTGATE TO PUT SOMETHING IN THE VEHICLE AND THE LIFTGATE FELL DOWN AND STRUCK HER IN THE HEAD. THE LIFTGATE CONTINUED TO FORCE DOWN ON THE CONTACT, TRAPPING HER AND CONTINUOUSLY PUSHING ON HER BACK. AN EYEWITNESS OBSERVED THE FAILURE AND HELPED TO PULL THE LIFTGATE OFF OF THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION, BUT SUSTAINED BRUISING ON THE BACK AND SORENESS FROM HER HEAD AND NECK. THE LOCAL DEALER (WASHINGTON CHEVROLET, 1 RAYMOND BLVD, WASHINGTON, PA, 15301) WAS CONTACTED AT 724-222-2800 AND INFORMED HER THAT IT WOULD COST HER TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED AGAIN. DUE TO THE COST, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBERS: 8-3387134924 AND 8-3450670027. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED WHAT THE DEALER STATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,700.
