TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE SIDE AIR BAGS SUDDENLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT OCCURRING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT CALLED HIS INSURANCE COMPANY AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V118000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000.
AFTER SOME MAJOR MAINTENANCE WORK SUMMER OF 2018, CAR BEGAN TO SHOW MORE WORK NEEDED. SUMMER OF 2019 WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT CITY ROAD, POWER STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN & CONTROL CURVES AND, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PARKED THE CAR UNTIL ABLE TO REPAIR. MECHANIC REPAIRED POWER STEERING MODULE CAR SEEMED OK. AFTER ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT & POWER STEERING PROBLEMS AGAIN , NOW ENGINE POWER REDUCED WHILE DRIVING W/STABILITRAK WARNING & BACK UP CAM SOMETIMES WORKS. WHLE DRIVING , HARD TO TURN ON CURVES, CORNERS AND AT APPROPRIATE POSTED SPEEDS BC ENGINE SLOWS ON ITS OWN AND WONT GIVE ENOUGH POWER FOR FLATS OR HILLS. HEATING TAKES MUCH LONGER TO WARM CABIN AND WINDOW BUTTON SOMETIMES WONT WORK.
HIT A DEER DIDN'T DO NO DAMAGE TO THE CAR THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED BUT NOT ALL THE FRONT AIRBAGS JUST THE ONE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND PASSENGER SIDE DASH
IT'S DRIVABLE JUST I NOTICED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS LIKE DASHBOARD RADIO GO DIM OCCASIONALLY AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE MAYBE TAKE A HALF HOUR TO AN HOUR FOR THE LIGHTS TO GO REGULAR AND IF I HAVE THE RADIO AT HIGH VOLUME WHILE DRIVING AND I DECREASE SPEED THE VOLUME LOWERS ITSELF JUST A CONCERN THAT IT MAYBE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON BUT NO RECALLS FOR IT. *TR
PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND PUT VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF REMOVED KEY AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. AFTER GETTING TO FLAT GROUND WHERE IT WOULD NOT ROLL I TRIED TO RESTART IT AND IT WOULD NOT START. I COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER AT ALL EITHER. HAD A MECHANIC FRIEND LOOK AT IT AND HE MANUALLY PULLED THE LINKAGE FORWARD TO CLICK IT INTO PARK SO I COULD RESTART IT AND MOVE THE VEHICLE. EVERYTIME I STOP AND PUT IT IN PARK NOW IT HAS TO BE PULLED INTO PARK MANUALLY FROM UNDER THE HOOD. HAVE NOT HEARD YET WHAT THE PROBLEM ACTUALLY IS. HEARD 2009 VEHICLES HAD SAME ISSUE AND RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR IT. THIS IS DEFINATELY NOT A GOOD SITUATION. POTENTIALLY COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS.
THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS INTERMITTENTLY GOING INTO "LOW ENGINE" MODE, WARNING BLINKS FOR ONLY A SECOND THEN THE CAR WILL NOT GO MORE THAN 10 MILES AN HOUR. THIS IS QUITE DANGEROUS TO ME, MY FAMILY, AND OTHER DRIVERS- IMAGINE THIS HAPPENING ON THE FREEWAY? DOES THIS ISSUE NEED TO RESULT IN A DEATH BEFORE IT IS LOOKED INTO BY THE COMPANY? THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF GEARS- HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY WITH NO WARNING SIGNS WHATSOEVER. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN I GO ABOVE 40 MPH, THE THE RPMS GOES TO 9+OFF THE CHARTS AND I CANNOT GO INTO THE NEXT GEAR. SINCE IT HAPPENS ONLY RANDOMLY MECHANICS HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING ISSUE SINCE IT DOES NOT ALWAYS DO THIS FOR THEM. OUR LAST VISIT SUGGESTED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, BUT AT A PRICE THAT IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE CAR, THAT IS HARD TO STOMACH. LOTS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE AND CONSIDERING THE 2009 RECALL, MY TWO CENTS IS THE 2010 MODEL MOST OBVIOUSLY HAS SIMILAR MANUFACTURING ISSUES AND A DEEPER INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE. OTHER ISSUES, CAR LURCHES/JERKS WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE FROM PARK. PLEASE BACK YOUR COMPANY AND IN GOOD FAITH TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS AS SOME OF US WORK HARD FOR OUR MONEY, THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE RESULT OF SOMETHING ANYONE TAKES PRIDE IN!
TRANMISSION JERK TO CHANGE GEAR THEN DROP INTO LOW GEAR ,STOP PULLING.
P10017 AND P0018- TIMING CHAINS GONE BAD
AFTER REACHING THE 100,000 MILE MARK, MY TRAVERSE RAN ROUGH, HAD SLOW ACCELERATION, AND SOMETIMES LOW POWER. THE MPG WENT DOWN DRASTICALLY FROM APRX 320 PER TANK TO BTWN 230-250. IT WAS WELL MAINTAINED WITH ROUTINE OIL CHANGES, RECENTLY WITH SYNTHETIC OIL DUE TO THE HIGH MILEAGE. I CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND AIR FILTER, WHICH HELPED FOR A SHORT TIME. IT BEGAN REVVING AT HIGH RPMS ON THE FREEWAY AND NOT SHIFTING. AFTER APRX FIVE MONTHS OF EXPERIENCING THE SYMPTOMS PERIODICALLY, THE ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON AND ALERTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM JUST OVER 108,000 MILES. THE CODE P0008 INDICATED A TIMING ISSUE, RESULTING FROM EITHER A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN OR BAD TENSIONER. THE LIGHT WAS OFF THE NEXT MORNING, BUT RETURNED LATER THE SAME DAY. I DID NOT DRIVE THE TRAVERSE FOR APRX TWO WEEKS IN FEAR OF THE TIMING CHAIN BREAKING. THE DAY I WAS TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, I ATTEMPTED TO START IT AND BLEW THE ENGINE. THE CHEVY MECHANIC CONFIRMED IT WAS A RESULT OF THE TIMING CHAIN. DOING RESEARCH, THERE ARE SEVERAL CASES OF THE 3.6L ENGINE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE TIMING CHAIN STRETCHING. I AM JUST THANKFUL I WAS NOT DRIVING AT THE TIME IT BROKE. I WANT TO KNOW WHY IT TOOK SO LONG FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AFTER EXPERIENCING THE SIGNS FOR MONTHS. CHEVY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2009 TRAVERSE AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 120,000 MILES. THEY NEED TO DO THE SAME THING WITH THE 2010'S AS WELL. THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL INDICATES THE TIMING CHAIN DOESN'T EVEN NEED TO BE CHECKED UNTIL 150,000.
THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT'S THE SAME CHAIN THAT WAS RECALLED ON THE 2009 TRAVERSE. THE ENGINE TAKES A WHILE TO ACCELERATE.
STABILITRAK CONTINUES TO POP UP AFFECTING SED ETC I HAVE ALREADY SPENT OVER $2000 REPLACING PARTS AND IT CONTINUES
RANDOMLY MY CAR WILL HAVE PROBLEMS SHIFTING GEARS USING GOING INTO 3RD GEAR AND THE RPM WILL SHOOT UP. ALSO WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE IT HESITATES AND THEN STARTS SPUTTERING. ONCE I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT IT STARTED SHIFTING NORMALLY BUT ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER IT STARTED AGAIN. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHEN I'M ON THE CITY STREETS OR ON THE INTERSTATE. I WONDER WHY THERE HAVENT BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS BECAUSE I SEE THERE'S OTHER OWNERS GOING THROUGH THIS AND I HAVE LESS THAN 101,000 MILES ON MY CAR.
THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT GOES ON THAT IT HAS BEEN TURNED OFF RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT HAD SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED BEFORE THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIMING CHAIN WAS REPLACED BUT APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES LATER THE FAILURE HAD REOCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER PATRIOT CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 40 AUTO PARK BLVD, LIMERICK PA, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY TIMING CHAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TRACTION CONTROL/STABILINK SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER WHILE ACCELERATING. THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE WHICH SLOWES THE VEHICLE DOWN. THIS HAPPENS EACH TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR ONTO HIGHWAYS WHERE OTHERS ARE TRAVELING AT FAST RATE OF SPEED. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB WHEN RESEARCHING 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE FOR PROBLEMS. THE VIN NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL BUT SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME AS VEHICLES THAT WERE RECALLED.
BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE TRACTION SYSTEM STALIBAK NEED HELP GETTING IT FIXED IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE.
TRIED TO CALL NHTSA NUMBER FOR ASSISTANCE. IT IS DISCONNECTED. NEED TO UPDATE COMPLAINT NUMBER 11205680. DATE OCCURRED IS INACCURATE AND WANT IT TO BE ACCURATE IF QUESTIONED BY REPRESENTATIVE. ACCIDENTALLY PUT APRIL 19TH AS TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM DATE. IT WAS ACTUALLY APRIL 25TH. PLEASE UPDATE.
POWER STEERING STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. AFTER IT STARTED HAPPENING I READ ONLINE THAT ALOT OF CUSTOMERS BEEN HAVING SAME IASUE.
2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE 130K MILES(TOLD IT IS IN KIL.) 2ND OWNER. ALL OIL CHANGES AND SERVICES DONE. 2 MAJOR ISSUES. SUV MADE LOUD NOISE AND LOST ALL CONTROL OF STEERING AND OTHER FUNCTIONS AND CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE ON A FREEWAY, GOING HIGH SPEEDS, WHILE TRAVELING WITH 3 CHILDREN. ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND BY 2 CARS. WAS TOLD BY GM SERVICE CENTER THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FELL OFF/MECHANICAL FAILURE DUE TO SKIPPING. OTHER COMPONENTS DAMAGED AND ALL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT FOR THE TIMING CHAIN TO FALL OFF. SEEMS TO BE A MECHANICAL DEFECT, NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. CALLED GM CS SEVERAL TIMES TO EXPLAIN RECENT ISSUES AND WORRY OF SAFETY AND RELIABILITY DUE TO MULTIPLE REPEATED TIMING CHAIN FAILURES ON SAME VEHICALS WITH SAME OWNERS ON 2010 AND NEWER TRAVERSE. TOLD BY CS NO WARRANTY NO RECALL SO CAN'T HELP. SERVICE MANAGER REQUESTED ASSISTANCE FROM GM FOR REPAIRS AND IT WAS DENIED. I CALLED GM AGAIN, WAS TOLD THEY WOULD COMMUNICATE WITH SERVICE CENTER AND CALL ME BACK LATER THIS WEEK. PRIOR THE POWER STEERING FAILED TWICE WITHIN MONTHS. REPAIRED POWER STEERING TWICE AS WELL AS POWER STEERING RACK. FIRST FAILURE WE ALMOST CRASHED WHILE ON A CIRCULAR ICY ON RAMP TO FREEWAY WITH 3 CHILDREN BECAUSE OF SUDDEN LOSS OF CONTROL. CALLED GM ABOUT POSSIBLE DEFECT AND CONCERNS FOR SAFETY. TOLD NO WARRANT NO RECALL. RECENTLY FOUND OUT THERE IS A SPECIAL PAYOUT FOR ISSUES. WAS TOLD WE COULD BE REIMBURSED. POSSIBLE UNDERLAYING UNDETECTED DEFECTS TO TIMING CHAIN AND POWER STEERING NEED TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE FATAL CRASHES OCCUR.
CHECK ENGINE IS ON. TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM AND THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING QUITE OFTEN WITH THE TRAVERSE. TIME FOR A RECALL
STABILITRAK IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY ALONG WITH TRACTION CONTROL. SEEMS TO BE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AS MANY OF THE WINDOWS, ALONG WITH OTHER ELECTRICAL LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR LOSES POWER. THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE AND THE TRACTION CONTROL SERVICE INDICATOR LIGHT AND STABILITRAK COMES ON, ALONG WITH THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT. WHEN THERE IS LOSS OF POWER THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECOND, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC.
MY TIMING CHAIN IS GOING BAD WITH ONLY 104,000 MILES. TO FIX WILL REQUIRE A NEW ENGINE.
TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SOME SORT OF ISSUE WHERE IT SHUTS OFF THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM AND ALSO TRIGGERS THE BRAKE ALARM AND SAYS SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE AND AFTER SHUTTING IT OFF FOR AWHILE AND RESTARTING IT, THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED. THE INCIDENCES HAVE OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AT RELATIVELY LOW SPEEDS AND SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STARTED FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT DAY AFTER SITTING ALL NIGHT.
MY VEHICLE HAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND IS THROWING DTC CODE P0008 WHICH IS CAUSED BY PREMATURE WEAR OF THE TIMING CHAIN(S). THIS SEEMS TO BE A WELL KNOWN ISSUE AND IN FACT THE SAME ENGINE HAS A "SPECIAL WARRANTY" ON THE 2009 TRAVERSE AND SEVERAL OTHER LAMBDA PLATFORM VEHICLES PRIOR TO 2010. THIS IS THE SAME ENGINE. THE SPECIAL WARRANTY CURRENTLY IN PLACE ON THE OLDER MODELS IS 11340-C. THIS CONDITION COULD LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE ENGINE AND STRAND THE VEHICLE - POSSIBLY IN A DANGEROUS PLACE WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO MOVE IT.
LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING THOUGH INTERSECTION. P0008 SET. TIMING CHAIN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS 93000MI. GM CUSTOMER SATISFACTION #10287 FOR 10 YEARS / 120K MI APPLIES ONLY FOR 2009 MODEL YEAR BUT HAS SAME LLT ENGINE.
MY 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE WAS FINE UNTIL I MADE A U-TURN AND I HEARD A LOUD NOISE. TH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN AND IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND WOULD COST $300 TO FIX. I PAID AND HAD IT FIXED THEN NOW TWO YEARS LATER , I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND IT STARTED LOSING GAS AND SLOWING DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. I TOOK TO MECHANIC AND IT'S THE TIMING CHAIN AGAIN!!!!! I HEARD THERE MIGHT BE A RECALL???? I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX SO IT'S JUST SITING IN MY BACK YARD!!!!
JUST BOUGHT 2010 TRAVERSE W/204XXX MILES. POWER STEERING PUMP STARTED LEAKING AT 205XXX. VEHICLE WAS OPERATING FINE. NO LEAKS, NO NOISES OR VIBRATIONS OR ANYTHING. DRIVE 15 MILES FROM HOME 1 DAY AND AFTER EXITING HIGHWAY, I NOTICED STIFF STEERING AND WHINING/GROANING WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL. PROBLEM CAME ON SO QUICKLY. VEHICLE DIDN'T WANT TO TURN AND ALMOST WENT INTO THE DITCH WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER AND CHECKED UNDER HOOD AND UNDER VEHICLE AND NOTICED I WAS SUDDENLY LEAKING STEERING FLUID VERY QUICKLY FROM PUMP. TOOK TO LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD I HAVE A BAD STEERING PUMP. THEY RECOMMENDED I REPORT THIS ISSUE AS THEY NOTICED THAT THIS PUMP HAD BEEN REPLACED BEFORE AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ISSUES RELATING TO MY MODEL YEAR AND SIMILAR MODELS REGARDING FAULTY STEERING SYSTEMS. UPON MY RESEARCH, I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS BLOGS AND POSTS FROM OTHER OWNERS VERIFYING THIS ISSUE. MILEAGE ON OTHER MODELS WAS 8XXX AND UP. WITH KIDS IN MY VEHICLE ALL THE TIME, THIS MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS ABOUT CURRENT SAFETY REGULATIONS AND RECALLS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I SEEM TO BE AMONG NUMEROUS OWNERS HAVING THIS ISSUE REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE MILEAGE
I HAVE ANTIFREEZE IN THE ENGINE IT HAS BEEN LEAKING FLUID. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THE ANTIFREEZE IS IN THE ENGINE AND I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. I ALSO PUT A POWER STEERING PUMP IN BECAUSE THE CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES TURNING TWO YEARS INTO ME HAVING THE SUV. I BOUGHT THE SUV IN 2015. IT HAS BEEN INE ISSUE AFTER ANOTHER.
MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES. FIRST THE DVD PLAYER WENT OUT THEN THE AIR AND HEAT QUIT BLOWING, DURING THIS THE CAR WOULD OCCASIONALLY LOSE POWER COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING BUT COULD BE BUMPED BACK ON BY JAMMING ON THE GAS OR RESTARTING THE CAR. THE VEHICLE STARTED LOCKING IN MY KEY AND SETTING OFF THE ANTI THEFT ELECTRIC LOCKDOWN. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND SOME OF THE ISSUES STOPPED BRIEFLY (THE ANTI THEFT AND POWER LOSS) BUT THE BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED WITHIN A MONTH AND THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER START OR ALLOW THE BATTERY TO CHARGE VIA JUMP OR CHARGE PACK.
TIMING CHAIN AS WELL AS CATALYTIC CONVERTER COMPLETELY DESTROYED AFTER THE TIMING CHAIN WAS INSTALLED BY A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP LESS THAN 1 YEAR GO. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON VEHICLE WENT INTO SAFETY MODE AND NOW WILL NOT START. CHEVROLET WILL NOT HELP COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 48000 MILES
I WAS PARKED THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I STARTED DRIVING THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO 10 MPH. WHEN I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEMB IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF TRAVERSE OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WHY HAVE THEY NOT RECALLED. FOR THIS ISSUE

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MALL CHEVROLET (75 HADDONFIELD RD, CHERRY HILL, NJ 08002, (856) 254-2370) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TIMING BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED [XXX], BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE TWO CHILDREN SEATED IN THE THIRD ROW OF THE VEHICLE HIT THEIR HEADS ON THE SEAT BACK OF THE MIDDLE ROW SEATS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS SOUGHT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V375000 (SEAT BELTS) OR 14V266000 (SEAT BELTS. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WHEN DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE CAR AND FLASHED THE WORDS: TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE STABILITY, REAR PARK ASSIST OFF, ENGINE POWER BEING REDUCED. THE VEHICLE WENT FROM 70 MPH TO ABOUT 25 MPH. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY THE OTHER VEHICLES AS THIS HAPPENED. THE SEATBELT HAS ALSO NOT BEEN LATCHING FULLY AND THIS MORNING THE AIRBAG SENSOR CAME ON AND SAID CHECK THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. BUT THEN WENT OFF AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS, WHILE I WAS STATIONARY.THIS IS CLEARLY HAZARDOUS AND MAKES DRIVING TO WORK AND TO MY CHILDREN'S THINGS IMPOSSIBLE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. NOW I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH AND WHAT MOST PEOPLE BELIEVED AND MECHANICS WAS THAT IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR BEING DIRTY, WE HAD THIS CLEANED LAST YEAR. THIS ALSO SEEMED TO ONLY OCCUR AFTER THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE GOES BELOW 30 DEGREES. PEOPLE ALSO HAVE FOUND THAT IT MAY BE THE ENGINE MODULE SYSTEM THAT WAS SERVICED OR SOMETIMES THE CATALYST CONVERTER. BUT EVEN AFTER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THESE THINGS SERVICED THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ORDEAL I HAVE AND THAT'S AFTER HAVING 3 OR MORE MECHANICAL REPAIRS WITH NO CLUE ON WHAT IS ACTUALLY CAUSING THE PROBLEM.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR TWO YEARS IN MY TRAVERSE AND MY LOCAL MECHANIC DOESN'T KNOW WHY. FOR ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME, WHEN FILLING THE TANK WE HAVE TO TURN ALL ELECTRONICS OFF AND THEN AFTER THE FILL WE HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL AND COAX IT INTO STARTING. AGAIN, LOCAL MECHANIC DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO THAT WON'T COST A FORTUNE, SO ADVISED TO CONTINUE DRIVING IF WHAT WE DO WORKS. FOR THE LAST MONTH OR SO THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON PERIODICALLY AND THEN THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT ALSO COMES ON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IT IS REALLY COLD. AT FIRST NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED, BUT THE LAST THREE TIMES WE DID LOSE POWER. I WENT DOWN TO 40MPH WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THEN AT 21 BELOW LAST NIGHT WE COULDN'T GO OVER 10-15 MPH. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF FOR A WHILE IT NORMALLY RE-SETS WHICH IT DID LAST NIGHT AND WE FINALLY MADE IT HOME. THIS ENGINE POWER REDUCTION AND STABILITRAK ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS ON.
TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM PROBLEMS. DRIVERS SEAT BELT NOT LATCHING COMPLETELY.

THE MANUFACTURER EXCLUDED THE VEHICLE FROM AN EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGN AND RECOMMENDED HAVING A DEALER DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I CAME OUTSIDE ONE MORNING TURNED THE CAR ON AND IT STARTED BUT WOULDN'T STAY ON TOWED IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD MY TIMING CHAIN WAS NO GOOD

HAD THE TIMING CHAIN REPLACED ONCE WE ONLY HAVE 80000 MILES ON TRUCK AND LIGHT IS ON A AGAIN GOOD MAINTENANCE AND GOOD QUILTY OIL OIL ONLY IN VEHICLE. ENGINE LIGHT CAME CODES SAY TIMING CHINE.
DRIVERS SIDE 2ND ROW SEAT BELT DOES NOT ALWAYS STAY LATCHED. AT 100,000 MI POWER STEERING PUMP WENT, MONTH LATER LOST CONTROL OF STEERING, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE RACK. 15 MONTHS LATER THE SEALS IN THE RACK HAVE BLOWN OUT AGAIN. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE SAFETY ISSUE! THE DEALER DID NOT SEE AN ISSUE AS HE LISTED 3 OTHER MAKES THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. AT $1400 PER REPAIR THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE! ALSO INFORMED ONE FRONT STRUT HAS NO OIL AND THE OTHER IS LEAKING. MY CHEVROLET TRAVERSE IS A MONEY PIT. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT ON AN INCLINE WILL CONTINUE TO COAST BACKWARDS UNTIL YOU EITHER BREAK OR GIVE IT GAS, THIS IS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF DURING TIME THAT THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR WHILE MOVING. WORN TIMING CHAINS; TIMING CHAINS AND GUIDES REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF OLD CHAINS WHICH WERE STILL USED ON THE TRAVERSE BUILT IN APRIL 2010. CHEVROLET HAS MANY DOCUMENTED BLOGS OF THESE TIMING CHAINS BEING BAD BUT STILL USED THEM IN THEIR BUILDS.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO CHEVEY DEALER IN SOMERSET KY TO HAVE CODE PULLED. WAS TOLD THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED REPLACED. WAS TOLD THIS WAS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM BUT AFTER RESEARCHING FOUND OUT IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THIS VEHICLE. OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE HAS ALSO BEEN AIR GOING OUT AND AIRBAG PROBLEMS. VERY FRUSTRATING TO HAVE TO REPAIR SO MUCH ON A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 100,000 MILES ON IT YET.
VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I GOT OFF THE EXIT THE CAR STARTED MAKING A WEIRD NOISE . I TRIED MAKING A RIGHT AND THE CAR JERKED AND ALMOST FLIPPED OVER IT'S THE THIRD TIME IT DOES THIS . THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. I TRIED FIXING THE ISSUE ALL THREE TIMES AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING .
VEHICLE HAS 140,000 MILES ON IT AND MY AIR BAG LIGHT AS WELL AS "SERVICE AIR BAG" SHOWING UP IN MY INDICATOR IS ON CONSTANT. MY MECHANIC IS STATING THIS FALLS UNDER AN EXISTING RECALL #15536, BUT YET MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THAT SPECIFIC RECALL SO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO REPAIR THIS. MY MECHANIC STATES THE CONNECTOR UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS THE ISSUE. THIS LIGHT INITIALLY STARTED AS JUST FLASHING ON OCCASION, NOW IT IS ON SOLID, NEVER GOES OFF. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT IN MY VEHICLE. NO REASON AS TO WHY THIS WOULD ALL OF A SUDDEN BECOME AN ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO JAMES CHEVROLET OF JOHNSTOWN (108 S COMRIE AVENUE, JOHNSTOWN, NY 12095) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE HAD BEEN REPLACED BY A DIFFERENT DEALER (KENT CHEVROLET/CADILLAC INC, 1413 HIGHWAY 62 E, MOUNTAIN HOME, AR 72653) ON AUGUST 21, 2016. IT STOP RUNNING WHILE DRIVING AND KEYS GET STUCK IN THE IGNITION MULTIPLE TIMES . ACCELERATES ITSELF OR FAILS TO PICK UP THE SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD MANY FIXED AND THEY GO RIGHT IN THE SAME PROBLEM.

THE MIDDLE BENCH SEAT BELTS WONT CLICK INTO THE BUCKLE PROPERLY, IT BECOMES LOOSE ON ITS OWN. PUTTING IN DANGER MY CHILDREN BECAUSE THEIR CAR SEATS CAN'T BE BUCKLED IN PROPERLY.
