TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TAILGATE, WHEN OPENED, WOULD AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,300.
AC DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, FREON LEAKINGOUT IN 2018. SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES IN 2018 ( A MINIMUM OF 3 TIMES) FOR THIS PROBLEM (BLOWING HOT AIR INSTEAD OF COLD) SUPPOSEDLY ADDRESSED BUT CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM IN 2019. SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM ACROSS THE BOARD. HELP
BACK HATCH DOES NOT STAY OPEN, WILL SUDDENLY FALL AND HIT YOU IN THE HEAD. OTHER 2012 HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE
2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE - IN SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS THE I WILL SMELL A STRANGE CHEMICAL ODER, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND BLACK SMOKE WILL COME FROM THE EXHAUST. THEN THE TRAVERSE WILL DRAMATICALLY REDUCE SPEED. THIS SEEM TO OCCUR ON HUMID OR DAYS WITH WET WEATHER. I WILL PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, WHEN I START IT UP AGAIN IT RESETS BUT THEIR IS SMOKE OR STEAM COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UPON LOOKING IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM WIRE HARNESS. MY SHOP CAN NOT EXPLAIN WHY THIS IS HAPPENING, BUT I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE QUICK DROP IN SPEED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE READ A LOT OF BLOGS ON THIS AND IT APPEARS TO BE A SIMILAR ISSUE AT EARLY MODELS THAT HAVE HAD RECALLS
THERE WERE MORE THAN A FEW OCCASIONS WERE I AM DRIVING AND MY CAR WILL INSTANTLY SLOW DOWN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND SOMETHING SAYING TRACTION CONTROL. I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THAT MEANS BUT WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY DEALERSHIP THE LIGHTS HAD WENT OFF AND THEY JUST LOOKED AT ME, SAYING THAT THEY CAN'T FIX SOMETHING THAT'S NOT THERE. IT'S SCARED ME BECAUSE IT DECREASES SPEED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE OTHER CARS OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING AND WE ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. I'M NERVOUS ABOUT MY CAR WHILE DRIVING IN THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE STREETS AS WELL AS HIGHWAY.
I'VE HAD THIS 2012 TRAVERSE FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. AT FIRST THE TRACTION CONTROL WOULD COME ON AFTER SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. REDUCED ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND TRUCK WILL PULL HARD AND BARELY EXCEED 40MPH. I PULL OVER, TURN OFF ENGINE FOR APPROXIMATELY A MINUTE. THEN RESTART ENGINE AND STABILITRAK WOULD GO OFF. NOW THE PROBLEM WILL OCCUR WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF IN MID TRAFFIC. IT ALSO COMES ON WHILE IN WARMING ENGINE IN THE MORNINGS. I HAVE TO TURN ENGINE OFF AND ON A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT GOES OFF.
SO BASICALLY LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IS STATING ALL OF THE SUDDEN WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE LIGHT COMES ON AND SAYS TRACTION CONTROL OFF/SERVICE STRABILA TRAC AND THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND YOU HAVE REDUCED ENGINE POWER. MY MECHANIC HAS HAD ME DRIVE STRAIGHT TO HIM EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE IF I TURN THE CAR OFF THE COMPUTER DOES NOT HOLD THE CODES. HE WAS GETTING A READING OF THE IGNITION COILS BEING BAD. WE HAVE REPLACED ALL SIX IGNITION COILS ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. TODAY 06/04/18 IT DID IT AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE AND NOBODY REALLY SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM SERIOUSLY OUT OF MONEY TO KEEP EXPERIMENTING WITH REPAIRS AT THIS POINT. GM REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND DO A RECALL. ALSO THESE CARS HAD AN AIRBAG RECALL AND I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD THEY FIXED THAT RECALL. MY AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON AND THEY TELL ME I HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG AT MY COST! WHY? SERIOUSLY LOOSING FAITH IN GM PRODUCTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, "REDUCE ENGINE POWER" AND "STABILITRAK" SUDDENLY APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. NEXT, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. FELDMAN CHEVROLET OF LIVONIA (32570 PLYMOUTH RD, LIVONIA, MI) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID. *DT*JB
THE AC EVAPORATOR HAS BEEN LEAKING FOR YEARS, AND IT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL REFILLS OF FREON TO LOCATE THE ISSUE. FREON IS BEING BLOWN INTO THE CABIN WHICH IS A TOXIC SUBSTANCE. WHILE DRIVING THE AIR VENTS BLOW OUT A FOG FROM THE LEAK. EVENTUALLY THE FREON RUNS OUT AND THE CABIN HEATS UP CAUSING DROWSINESS WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING LIKE A OLD, OLD TRACTOR. I WAS TOLD THE MOTOR KEEPS LOSING OIL PRESSURE KNOWN THAT TYPE ENGINE HAS PROBLEMS BUT YET NO RECALL. I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PAY FOR A NEW MOTOR AND INSTALLATION ON THIS. JUST GOT THAT FIXED AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION WENT ANOTHER EXPENSE ON MY PART. WHAT NEXT!! THIS CAR IS A LEMON LAW PROBLEM!! WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT? PLEASE HELP!! WHERES THE RECALLS?? THIS 2012 TRAVERSE IS SCARY TO DRIVE NOT KNOWN WHATS NEXT GOING TO HAPPEN ON THE ROAD. CANT GO ANYWHERE THAT INVOLVES DISTANCE.. I WAS STALLED IN THE INTERSECTIONS IN TOWN ON A BUSY STREET WITH LITTLE CHILDREN AND AN ELDERLY LADY.
MY STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN TRYING TO TURN RIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER GETTING IN THE CAR. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE, AND BOTH TIMES IT WAS RAINING. IT HAPPENS OUT OF NOWHERE. NO WARNINGS/LIGHTS COME ON. IT'S SCARY TO BE DRIVING WITH MY KIDS AND SLIDE PAST MY TURN BECAUSE MY STEERING WHEN WON'T TURN.
POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK AT LOW RPM. IT IS VERY HARD TO PARK CAR IN PARKING SPACES, AND ALSO VERY HARD TO MAKE TIGHT TURNS AT LOW SPEEDS. IT SEEMS AS IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. A HIGH PITCHED SQUEALING NOISE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHEN TURNING. THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD THE PROPER AMOUNT OF FLUID AND THE THE NOISE GOT LOUDER. THE RACK AND PINION HAD TOTAL FAILURE WHILE TRAVELING AT 55 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 70,000 MILES. WE HAD THE PUMP REPLACED ONCE BEFORE AT AROUND 40,000 MILES. ON THE 2ND REPLACEMENT, THE DEALER CHANGED THE PUMP NUMBER TO THE 'UPGRADED PART' THEY ALSO SAID, 'GM KNOWS ABOUT THE FAULTY PUMPS AND ARE REPLACING THEM WITH THIS NEWER PART.' THE DEALER REPORTED TO US THAT THE PUMP NEEDED REPLACED BECAUSE IF IT WASN'T, THE PUMP WOULD GO OUT DUE TO THE DAMAGE IT SUSTAINED. SO, WE DID THAT WITH THE RECOMMENDATION FROM GM AS WELL IN A PHONE CALL.
TAKATA RECALL. STABILITRACK AUTOMATICALLY GOES OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR INTERSTATE THE SMELL OF RAW GAS COMES THROUGH THE CABIN, VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND STARTS TO STALL. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN NOT JUST ONCE. I HAVE RESEARCHED COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND THERE ARE A TON OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS.
A 2012 TRAVERSE IN PRISTINE CONDITION THAT HAS UP TO DATE MAINTENANCE THROUGH THE DEALER WITH ONLY 41,000 MILES, NOW NEEDS REPLACEMENT OF STEERING RACK AND PINION AS WELL AS PRESSURE HOSE.
POWER STEERING FLUID STARTED LEAKING
MY STEERING LOCKS UP GOING AT SLOWER SPEEDS AND TURNING. MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE STEERING AS THE OTHER 2009-2013 CHEVY TRAVERSE STEERING . IT'S THE SAME PART, ISSUE AND VEHICLE AS THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO FIX THE STEERING UP TO 10 YEARS AND 150,000 MILES AND I AM BEING TOLD YOU HAVE NOT INCLUDED MY VIN # UNDER THIS WARENTY AND I NEED A VALID EXPLANATION WHY MY VIN ISN'T COVERED. IT'S THE SAME ISSUE, THE SAME PART AND THE CORRECT YEAR.
WHILE DRIVING ON A 50 MPH ROAD IN MY 2012 TRAVERSE THE CAR SUDDENLY SLOWED. THE MESSAGES "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED", "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL", AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK" CAME ON. THE SUDDEN DECELERATION FOR APPARENTLY NO REASON WAS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AS WELL. I STARTED THE CAR AND DROVE IT 10 MINUTES LATER, WITH THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRING.
CAR LOSES POWER AND WILL NOT START. ADVANCE AUTO DIAGNOSTIC TIMING CHAIN
MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AND AFTER 2 SERVICE CALL THE DEALER DETERMINE THAT I WOULD NEED A NEW AIRBAG INSTALLED.
"TAKATA RECALL" WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME I HAD MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND THE TRACTION CONTROL DISENGAGED AND THE SAME TIME. IT ALSO REDUCED ENGINE POWER (IT ALSO SAID IT WAS ON THE DASH BOARD) HOWEVER WITH NO WARNING STARTED TO SLOW TOO QUICKLY WHILE I WAS DRIBING DOWN STREET WHICH SPEED LIMIT IS 50 MPH. AS I HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND ME WHO HAD TO SWITCH QUICKLY TO NEXT LANE. ONCE I MADE IT HOME I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND THEIR HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM... I NEVER SEEN SO MANY OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME MANUFACTURER... I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND ARE MOSTLY WITH ME WHEN I'M ON THE ROAD. LUCKILY I LEFT THEM HOME THIS TIME. AND NO ONE GOT HURT. HOWEVER, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN...I STRONGLY BELIEVE IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN ON MY WAY TO WORK DURING RUSH HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. I WOULD HAVE HAD A DIFFERENT OUTCOME. PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS A.S.A.P.
THE VEHICLE HAS 86K MILES AND IS 6 YEARS OLD. OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS WE HAVE NOTICED A SIMILAR ISSUE AS OTHERS I HAVE READ ABOUT. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT GOES ON....THE DOORS LOCK/UNLOCK....AND THE ENGINE ESSENTIALLY DECELERATES FROM 60+ DOWN TO 30-40 MPH QUICKLY. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE THROTTLE BODY MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. WE ARE GOING TO TRY THAT AND IF THAT WORKS, GREAT. IF IT DOESN'T, NOT GOING TO GET ANOTHER CHEVY. THIS IS DANGEROUS...AND COULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
WHEN TURNING ONTO A ROAD, FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLES STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED, REQUIRING IMMEDIATE REVERSE TO AVOID COLLISION OR NOT END UP OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IF A VEHICLE WAS BEHIND US PREVENTING REVERSE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE CABLE THAT CONNECTED THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT TO THE FLOORBOARD DISINTEGRATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS HELD ON BY A FEW THREADS OF STEEL. SVG MOTORS IN GREENVILLE, OHIO AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
P0017, P0018, P0019, P0068, P0089, P0106, P228C 2012 TRAVERSE ALL OF THESE CODE ARE ON THE SCANNER. THE VEHICLE WILL SLOW TO JUST ABOUT A STOP GOING DOWN THE ROAD. LOTS OF LIGHTS COME UP ON THE DASH, TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAC, THE CAR IS IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WILL NOT TURN OVER. GM IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I HAVE CALLED, CONSIDERING THAT THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE ENGINES IN THE TRAVERSE MODELS. CAR ONLY HAS 83K MILES ON IT AND GETS OIL CHANGES JUST ABOUT EVERY 3000 MILES. FROM MICHIGAN
THE STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE POWER REDUCES.WHEN I TOOK TO THE MECHANIC NOTHING SHOWS ON THE COMPUTER AS WRONG OR HAS BEEN WRONG. WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING THE CRUISE CONTROL WONT WORK AND I HAD TO PUSH REALLY HARD ON GAS PEDAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SO FAR
WHILE DRIVING UP AN INCLINE THE CAR SUDDENLY WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEED. IT COULDN'T MAINTAIN SPEED ABOVE 40-45 MPH. THIS OCCURRED ON A FREEWAY WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OVER. I WAS ABLE TO BRING IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED SEVERAL ENGINE CODES (POO18 & POO19) AND RECOMMENDED TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AS THIS REPAIR WAS BEYOND THEIR CAPABILITIES. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER WHERE IS WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STRETCHED TIMING CHAINS, TIMING OFF BY 2 TEETH, SHOES & GUIDES WORN OUT, & 2 ACTUATORS WILL NOT PARK. INVOICE FOR REPAIRS WERE FOR $4461.57. THE VEHICLE IS 6 YEARS OLD AND HAD APPROXIMATELY 87K MILES WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. DUE TO CAR BEING PURCHASED USED, EXPIRED WARRANTY , MANUFACTURER REFUSED REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS DESPITE HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ENGINE MODEL.
VEHICLE IS REGISTERED IN MONTANA, ONE OF THE STATES LISTED IN RECALL #12V151000, RE: WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECOMING INOPERABLE IN COLD WEATHER. CHECK SHOWS MY VEHICLE IS NOT SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL, BUT MY PROBLEM MATCHES IT EXACTLY. CONDITIONS, -12DEG AND LIGHT SNOW. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IDLING ABOUT 10 MIN WITH DEFROSTER ON. I BRUSHED OFF WINDSHIELD AND CLEARED COME ICE THAT HAD COLLECTED ON THE WIPER BLADES AND AT THE BASE OF THE WIPER ARMS. WHEN I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND TURNED ON THE WIPERS, THE ARMS WOULD NOT MOVE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED 6 MONTHS AGO, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. I BELIEVE THE ONLY PRIOR OWNER WAS ALSO IN MONTANA.
USED MY AUTO START ON 12/24/2017 PARKED AT A HOTEL VISITING FAMILY, WHEN GOT IN VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT ON. HAD IT CHECKED ON 12/26/2017 AND INFORMED TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. ESTIMATE GIVEN OF $3400 AT A CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALERSHIP. NOTIFIED GM CUSTOMER CARE AFTER BACK AND FORTH E-MAILS NOTIFIED ME THEY WOULDN'T DO ANY COST ASSISTANCE AS WARRANTY IS UP.
THE TAIL GATE LIFT ASSIST NO LONGER WORKS, TO LIFT IT I'M LIFTING THE WHOLE WEIGHT OF THE TAILGATE. IT WON'T STAY OPEN, SO I HAVE TO HOLD IT UP WHILE TRYING TO PUT SOMETHING IN THE BACK. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS FOR THE TRAVERSE, BUT MY VIN DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE INCLUDED.
THE CAR STUTTERED WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE AND FIRST GEAR. SHE BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED SHUTTERING IMMEDIATELY. SHE THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT STARTED SHUTTERING VIOLENTLY AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE AT 10 MILES PER HOUR. EVEN AT THAT SPEED IT WAS STILL SHUTTERING. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE QUOTED THAT THE CLUTCH PLATES AND VALVES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $4400. THIS ISSUE COULD BECOME A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE IF THOSE PLATES DECIDE TO GO BAD WHILE AT ANY SPEED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED TWICE. DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, A LOUD CLUNK WAS HEARD, THE VEHICLE JERKED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED, CHECK STABILITRAX AND TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGES APPEARED AND STABILITRAX DISABLED, SPEEDOMETER REMAINED FROZEN AT SPEED THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. WHILE DRIVING TO SAFE LOCATION TO STOP, VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE STUCK IN A SPECIFIC GEAR THAT IS LOWER THAN NORMAL FOR FREEWAY DRIVING, RPMS WERE MUCH HIGHER THAN NORMAL. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STANDSTILL, VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE NO POWER (PROBABLY DUE TO ACCELERATING FROM 0 MPH IN A HIGHER GEAR). I TOOK VEHICLE TO BOWMAN CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER FOR ATTENTION AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE INCIDENT THOUGH THEY DID STATE THAT THEY SEE ERROR CODES IN THE SYSTEM FOR LOSS OF COMMUNICATION. AFTER TESTING AND TROUBLESHOOTING FOR UP TO 2 WEEKS, SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ERROR BUT DURING THEIR TESTING THEY FOUND THE BATTERY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE SERVICE CENTER STATES THAT A BATTERY REPLACEMENT MAY OR MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I MADE A CASE (#[XXX]) WITH CHEVROLET BUT THE ADVISER RECEIVED INFORMATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT WAS FALSE AND STATED THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER HE COULD DO. THE INFORMATION HE RECEIVED FROM THE DEALER IS THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR ME TO AUTHORIZE CHARGES FOR ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSIS. I DID AUTHORIZE BOWMAN CHEVROLET TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. MY CONCERN IS THAT I AM NOW TAKING BACK A CAR THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND ALLOWING MY WIFE TO DRIVE, AND DAUGHTER TO RIDE IN, THIS VEHICLE THAT HAS A KNOWN ISSUE. LUCKILY FOR US THE ISSUE OCCURRED AT NIGHT WHEN THERE WAS NO ONE ON THE ROADS BUT IF IT OCCURRED DURING RUSH HOUR IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. LOUD NOISE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. VEHICLE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS A TAKATA PROBLEM BECAUSE I WAS INFORMED THAT TAKATA WENT BANKRUPT. ON NOVEMBER 1, 2017 I TOOK MY SUV INTO GEORGE NAHAS CHEVROLET DEALER DUE TO MY PROBLEM . I INFORMED THEM THAT MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AND OFF. I THOUGHT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM BECAUSE I CAN REACH UNDER MY SEAT AND MOVE THE WIRES AND THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. THEY CHARGE ME $199.90 FOR A DIAG AND LATER INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A POOR CONNECTION. I DROVE THE CAR AND A FEW DAYS LATER THE LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN. I TOOK MY CAR IN AGAIN AND I THOUGHT THEY FIXED IT THIS TIME BUT AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER THE LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN. BACK AGAIN TO NAHAS CHEVROLET AND THIS TIME AFTER WAITING HOURS THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG AND IT WILL COST ME $1,037.90. I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. I DECIDED NOT TO PAY $1,037.90 BECAUSE THE CAR WAS A 2012. I ASKED THE MANAGER TO REFUND MY $199.90 BECAUSE AFTER THE FIRST REPAIR IT WASN'T FIX AND THEN AFTER THE SECOND ATTEMPT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. AFTER THE 3RD TIME I MET WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, MY CONVERSATION WITH HIM WAS SINCE NATAKA WENT BANKRUPT NO OTHER NOTIFICATIONS WOULD BE GIVEN. IN MY OPINION NOW CHEVY OR THE DEALER NOW CARRIES THE RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND MY PROBLEM AND AGREE WITH ME THAT THE DEALER HAS TO FIX MY PROBLEM.
"TAKATA RECALL" WENT TO START MY CAR AND THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON. I TOOK MY CAR IN 3 TIMES AND FINALLY THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW AIRBAG. SINCE THERE HAS BEEN MANY RECALLS PERTAINING TO AIRBAGS I INFORMED THE DEALER THAT IT COULD BE A POSSIBILITY IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE YEAR AND MAKE OF MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE COST FOR THE NEW AIR BAG WAS OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS THERE WAS NO WAY THAT I WAS GOING TO SPEND THAT KIND MONEY WHEN THERE HAS BEEN SO MANY RECALLS. I FEEL SINCE TAKATA WENT BANKRUPT I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE SINCE THEY CONTRACTED TAKATA AN OUTSOURCE COMPANY.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
MY 2012 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE WITH 72,000 MILES IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AS MANY OTHER CHEVROLET VEHICLES REGARDING V6 TIMING CHAIN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH CODE P0016 P0017. SINCE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN DECEMBER OF 2011, I'M OVER THE 5 YEAR PORTION OF THE WARRANTY AND THE 2012 TRAVERSE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE TO 10 YEARS / 120,000 MILES. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO BE MADE TO RECALL VEHICLES THEY MADE WITH THIS ISSUE.
THE FIRST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED 10/11/17 ON I-40. MY CAR STARTED "JERKING" AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR DECELERATED TO APPROX 35 MPH. THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. A NTFCN CAME ON THAT ALL OF MY ASSISTS WERE OFF (PARKING, ALL WHEEL DRIVE, TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITRACK). A NTC ALSO APPEARED THAT SAID TO SERVICE STABILITRAK. WHEN I GO TO PRESS MY BRAKE THERE IS A NOISE IN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT "JUMPS" WHEN I GO TO PRESS IT. WE HAVE TAKEN IT AND HAD IT PUT ON THE COMPUTER BUT NO CODES APPEAR SAYING THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY SAY THE SENSORS ARE FINE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES NOW. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR. I AM TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR ANYMORE. IT IS TOO DANGEROUS. I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE IT. NO DEALER IS GOING TO TAKE A FAULTY CAR AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY POPS UP WITH A SERVICE STABILITRAK/TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE THEN HAS REDUCE POWER AND ISSUES ACCELERATING. THE SAME ISSUE OCCUR AT STOP LIGHTS AND THE CAR WILL SOMETIME SHUT OFF AN TAKE MULTIPLE TURNOVERS TO RESTART. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL THEN RANDOMLY GO AWAY AND THE CAR START DRIVING NORMALLY AGAIN UNTIL IT RE-OCCURS.WE HAVE ALREADY SPENT OVER 1200 DOLLARS TRYING TO FIX THE ISSUE TO NO AVAIL. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH THE LAST TIME LISTED BELOW.

I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPT FROM THE DEALER THAT THE ISSUE WAS A PART FELL INTO THE PISTON. MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY IS 5 YEAR 100,000 MILES, WE HAVE 90,000 MILES AND OUR 5 YEAR ISN'T UP UNITL NOV 15, 2017. DEALER SERVICE MADE US PROVIDE 3 RECEIPTS FROM THE MAINTENANCE SHOP, THEN REQUIRED RECEIPTS UP TIL 2015 WHEN WE LAST USED THE DEALER SERVICE. BECAUSE THE RECEIPTS ALL DID NOT LIST THE VIN # OR LICENSE PLATE THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO CONTACT THE MAINTENANCE SHOP YOURSELF TO CONFIRM THE CAR THAT WAS SERVICED WAS THE CAR IN QUESTION. THEY REFUSED AND REFUSE TO HONOR THE 5 YEAR, 100,000 MILE DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP, WE NEED THIS CAR FOR TRANSPORTING OUR CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL, ETC

THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING MY SON TO DAYCARE AND MY SON TO WORK THE CHECK BATTERY SYSTEMS LIGHT CAME ON. I KNOW FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE THAT THE CAR IS ABOUT TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. AS EXPECTED A FEW MILES UP THE ROAD THE TRACTION LIGHT, ABS LIGHT AND OTHER LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY, THE HAZARD LIGHTS WILL NOT EVEN TURN ON. AS I STATED BEFORE THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT I HAVE AS THIS PROBLEM IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF YEARS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TO BE CHECKED BUT THE ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO LOOK FOR DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. THESE CARS ARE BUILT TO HOLD FAMILIES. THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN FOR NO REASON AND WITHOUT MUCH WARNING IS PUTTING LIVES AT RISK. THE CHEVY TRAVERSE IS A POPULAR CAR FOR FAMILIES BECAUSE OF THE SPACE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER FAMILIES HAVING THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM. PLEASE DON'T WAIT UNTIL IT BECOMES DEADLY TO TAKE ACTION.
AFTER PULLING ONTO A HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATING TO 60 MPH, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2012 CHEVY TRAVERSE CAME ON INCLUDING TRACTION CONTROL, BATTERY, ENGINE LIGHT ETC CAME ON AND MY VEHICLE LOST POWER WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF MY ENGINE AND WAITED 5-10 MINUTES, WHEN I RESTARTED MY ENGINE, THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE STILL ON. I PULLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE STILL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FASTER THAN 30 MPH SO I MADE A U-TURN IN THE HIGHWAY, RETURNED TO MY HOME, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO UP MY DRIVEWAY. I ROLLED BACK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND AGAIN WAITED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, MADE A LOOP IN THE HIGHWAY AND FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GO UP MY DRIVEWAY TO RETURN HOME. FYI - I CALLED WWW.SAFECARS.GOV AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THE 2012 CHEVY TRAVERSE, AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT'S REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE 196 COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. I HAVE FIVE GRANDKIDS AND A DISABLED HUSBAND WHO I HAVE TO DRIVE 80 MILES TO THE DR 2-3 DAYS A WEEK. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY TO FIX THIS VEHICLE AND I RECEIVED ABSOLUTELY ZERO SYMPATHY FROM THE LADY WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE. I GET THAT SHE DOES NOT DO THE RECALLS BUT AS A PERSON WHO NEEDS MY CAR AND WHO IS EXPERIENCING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, SHE COULD OFFER NO ADVICE AND DID NOT COMPLETE A COMPLAINT ON MY BEHALF. IT WAS OBVIOUS IT WAS NOT HER PROBLEM BECAUSE SHE KEPT REPEATING THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY.... POOR TRAINING AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I HAVE WORKED IN GOVERNMENT FOR 20+ YEARS AND I KNOW HOW TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS WHO ARE UPSET FOR GOOD REASON, EVEN IF I CANNOT GIVE THEM THE RESPONSE THEY ARE SEEKING, THEY HANG UP THE PHONE FEELING LIKE THEY WERE HEARD.
IT IS A KNOWN PROPLEM THAT GM MAKES FUEL PUMPS WITH FUEL SENSORS THAT FAIL RANDOMLY AND OFTEN. I KNOW ONE PERSON WHO HAS REPLACED IT FOUR TIMES. OURS HAS FAILED.. THE FUEL GAUGE NOW DOESN'T WORK, AND SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL REJECT FUEL. MY WIFE HAS BEEN STRANDED WITH OUR CHILDREN IN ONE HUNDRED DEGREE WEATHER BECAUSE OF THIS. THE DEALER WANTS A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE IT, BECAUSE THEY INSIST ON REPLACING THE WHOLE PUMP AND DROPPING THE FUEL TANK TO DO IT.
POWER STEERING HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES (NOW MAY HAVE TO BE A FOURTH), ONCE PRIOR TO MY OWNERSHIP (WAS DEEMED CERTIFIED BY A CHEVY DEALER AT TIME OF PURCHASE HOWEVER I BELIEVE THIS WAS FRAUDULENT). MECHANIC SAID (AT FIRST REPLACEMENT) POWER STEERING FROM MY PURCHASE WAS AFTER MANUFACTURERED PARTS. THIS MEANS WHEN I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 27,000 MILES IN 2012, POWER STEERING PUMP HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT ON I-70 ONCE GO 75 MPH. THE VEHICLE MAKES NOISES WHEN TURNING. NOW AGAIN, LEAKING STEERING FLUID AND ENGINE FLUID. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL, ETC... I CALLED GM AND THEY CLAIM THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE STEERING HOWEVER IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS YEAR AND MODEL HAVING POWER STEERING PUMP, RACK AND PINION COMPLAINTS. I HAD ALSO BEEN TOLD BY A LEXUS DEALER/SERVICE IN 2014 THAT IT NEEDED A RACK AND PINION OR POWER STEERING PUMP. GM DEALERSHIP LATER DETERMINED IT WAS POWER STEERING PUMP. HOW MANY POWER STEERING PUMPS DO I HAVE TO PUT ON THIS CAR? I CONTACTED GM, THEY CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY DESPITE OTHER VINS/YEARS HAVING THESE EXACT ISSUES. CLEARLY, THERE IS SOMETHING DEFECTIVE IN THESE SUBS THAT WOULD CAUSE SO MANY POWER STEERING PUMPS TO FAIL. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE ANYONE TAKES THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND DEFECTIVE CAR SERIOUS?

WHILE DRIVING, TRACTION CONTROL AUTOMATICALLY WENT OFF, THEN AUTOMATICALLY WENT BACK ON. HAPPENED AS I WAS EXITING A PARKING LOT ONTO A BUSY ROAD. WENT OFF AGAIN, THEN IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TURN, CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAKE IT INTO THE NEXT PARKING LOT. GRADUALLY RAMPED UP TO ABOUT 20 MPH. TRACTION CONTROL AUTOMATICALLY CAME "ON" BUT SO DID THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. LET THE CAR SIT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND IT WOULD DRIVE (BUT I DID NOT GET OVER 40 MPH OR FURTHER THAN AROUND THE BLOCK). CHECK ENGINE STILL ON. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT ON THE INTERSTATE AS HAD BEEN ABOUT 15 MINUTES EARLIER.
