The rear lower brake lights stopped working. Only the top center brake light will work. This is the second time in about a month and a half that this has happened. The first time the dealer replaced the brake light switch located on the brake pedal. This time I have been told that the main fuse block has to be replaced. If this is not fixed, this will cause other system's to malfunction including the ABS, transmission not shifting properly (this happened the first time). I had about 3 or 4 different warning messages the first time this happened. These fuse blocks are on national back order. Unknown when I will be able to get the part. In the meantime, I have a vehicle that I cannot drive due to safety problems. I have done some research and found that GM has major problems with these fuse blocks. This problem is caused by a poor design of the fuse block by GM.

I have contact the dealership regarding the recal and they dont have the piece to be able to fix the air bag and that they will call me when they get a piece. It’s been a whole month since this recal notice was sent to me. The sales associate stated it was a probability that my car was within the defective bunch but their unable to know with certainty. They expect me to keep driving this vehicle risking my two 3 year old toddler’s life on a probability. The probability of my car being within the defective ones is a 50% chance but it’s a chance im not willing to take. Nobody is able to give me a solution. Im not risking my children’s life because of a manufacturer’s error. I need a solution ASAP or I will have to take legal action because this is ridiculous. They don’t care because it isn’t their life nor their children at risk. They are leaving it to fate and God that my vehicle isn’t defective and I just have to cross my fingers every time I leave my home wondering if I’ll return. This isn’t meant to be dramatic, but put yourself in my place a mother of small children that are at risk every time they get into my vehicle trusting the air bag will safe my life but apparently it could kill me.
I called GM about my recall under 23V334. I spoke to GM customer care and my local dealer and both quoted me 5-10yrs for my vehicle to be fixed.

Received recall N232404980 regarding driver side airbag defect that may cause injury or death if the airbag is deployed and the inflator ruptures. Currently, parts are not available to repair the airbag and eliminate the safety hazard. Also, there is no estimated date when the repair parts will be available. There is no "stop use" of the vehicle. However, I was cautioned by the local dealer service department to avoid getting into an accident that will cause the airbag to deploy. (???) GM has no temporary fix or "work around" to minimize this safety hazard for those vehicles that remain in service (e.g. disable the airbag to prevent deployment, loaner vehicle or vehicle rental reimbursement). Is this GM's way of telling me that driving my vehicle at this time puts me at higher risk than normal???

Was notified of Safety recall in June of 2023 for "In these vehicles, the front-driver airbag inflator may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that may result in inflator rupture during deployment. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants".
