Dealership I bought this car from 5 days ago, mckluski chevy in Cincinnati Ohio stated it would be another week before i could buy the car as there was a recall on the tires and they were putting new ones on. They did not put new ones on cleared the recall without fixing it. I paid $100 locally just to have them plugged to hold air and was told they are not safe and need replaced due to tread and dry rot. All valve steps and beads were leaking and had to be replaced as well.
Goodyear Fortera HL tires for my 2017 Chevrolet Traverse LT / Tire Size: P255/65R18 started showing considerable wear at 25K miles. Cracking side walls. Not griping road even with the smallest amount of moisture on the road. (California) Causing the SUV to slide out of control at 20 miles an hour. At 34k and less then 3 years old the tires had to be replaced.
P255/65R18 DOT 4BXM ARDR0617 GOODYEAR FORTERA HL EDITION ALL FOUR TIRES ARE DRY ROTTED UNTIL A UNSAFE CONT. KEEP HAVING TIRE PRESSURE ALARMS, TOOK THE CAR TO WALMART TO CHECK FOR FLATS.
I PURCHASED A 2017 CHEVY TRAVERSE IN 2018, WITH IT'S ORIGINAL FACTORY GOODYEAR FORTERA P255/65R18 109S DOT 4RXM ARDR 2916 TIRES. ON 4/29/20 THE LOW TIRE LIGHT CAME ON AND I DISCOVERED A SCREW WAS IN THE TIRE. I WENT TO DISCOUNT TIRE TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THE GUY THERE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER WAS CRACKING AND SPLITTING FROM THE RIM. HE SAID THOSE SPECIFIC GOODYEAR TIRES ARE TO BE GOOD FOR 65,000 MILES. THE CHEVY TRAVERSE ONLY HAS 36,120 MILES ON IT, 9,000 MORE THAN WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. I NOW HAVE TO PURCHASE FOUR NEW TIRES BECAUSE THE CURRENT ONES ARE BEGINNING TO SPIT AND CRACK WHICH COULD LEAD TO A BLOW OUT. MY WIFE MAINLY DRIVES THE TRAVERSE WITH OUR 2 DAUGHTERS TO AND FROM SCHOOL AND DAYCARE. I WILL PROVIDE A PICTURE WHERE YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE SPLIT BELOW THE RIM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR FORTERA HL TIRES, SIZE: P255/65R18. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT WAS ALERTED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE APPEARED DRY ROTTED. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED CRACKS AND BLISTERS ON THE INTERIOR OF THE TIRE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED AS CERTIFIED USED TIRES. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
CONSISTANLTY LOSING TIRE PRESSURE, SINCE DATE OF PURCHASE. I HAVE TO ADD AIR TO TIRES ON A MONTHLY BASIS...
