AFTER DRIVING FOR A FEW WEEKS, I NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL HARD SHIFT INTO 5TH GEAR AT TIMES. IT ALSO WILL SKIP 2ND GEAR WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP AND THE VEHICLE WITH SHUTTER WHEN SKIPPING THAT GEAR GOING FROM 3 STRAIGHT TO 1. THERE IS ALSO SOME HESITATION WHEN YOU HAVE TO GET ON THE GAS FROM THAT GEAR SKIP. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN UPDATE OR A TRANSMISSION FIX OF SOME KIND TO FIX THIS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARK BRAKE SWITCH LIGHT WAS ON WOULD NOT DISENGAGE THE CABLE WAS TAKE. OF BATTERY TO TRY TO RESET THE SETTINGS DIDN'T WORK! MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER I HAVE NOT RECEIVE LETTER ON NO RECALL
MY AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE HAS BEEN COMING ON SINCE APRIL HAD IT SERVICED THEN IT HAD TO BE SERVICED AGAIN IN JUNE. THE LIGHT HAS NOW COME ON AGAIN AS OF AUGUST 6,2016 NO ONE SEEMS TO TAKE THIS AS A SERIOUS MATTER MY AIRBAGS ARE DEACTIVATED AS TO WHAT THE DEALERSHIP WHO WORKED ON IT THE ISSUE IN APRIL EXPLAINED I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO HAVE THIS FIXED OR GIVE ME A NEW VEHICLE THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE TO FIX THE PROBLEM THREE TIMES BEFORE I AM ALLOWED TO GET A NEW VEHICLE SO NOW I AM RIDING IN A CAR WITHOUT ANY AIR BAGS AND PRAYING THAT I DON'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT WITH MY KIDS . THE INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED WHILE I AM DRIVING OR PARKING THE VEHICLE THE MESSAGE COMES ON TO SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM
BOUGHT THE CAR JULY 2015 AND BY OCT 2015 THE CAR OCCASIONALLY WOULD DOWNSHIFT WHILE IN MOTION. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND THE RECALL WAS ACONPLISHED AND THE COMPUTER WAS UPDATED. WITHIN A MONTH THE CAR WAS BACK TO DOWNSHIFTING AT ODD TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE CAR HAS REPEATLY BEEN IN 3 DIFFERENT CHRYSLER REPAIR SHOPS AND IT HAS ALWAYS GONE BACK TO DOWNSHIFTING WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING AT ODD TIMES. I DID GET IT WHILE IT WAS DOWNSHIFTED ON MY PHONE RECENTLY SO I HAVE A VIDEO. SINCE THE VIDEO THE ENGINEERS AT CHRYSLER HAD THE DEALER CHANGE A MODULAR IN THE COMPUTER AND THE DEALER PUT 200 MILES ON THE CAR AND ASSURED ME IT WAS FIXED. THE SAME DAY I PICKED THE CAR UP IT DOWNSHIFTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME TO BRING IT BACK IN. I JUST PICKED MY CAR UP FROM THE DEALER THIS MORNING AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINEERS TOLD THEM ONLY TO DRIVE MY CAR. SINCE IT DIDN'T DO IT IN THE 331 MILES THAT THEY DROVE IT THEY WERE TOLD TO GIVE ME MY CAR BACK AS REPAIRED. I TOOK THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD TO TAKE IT RIGHT BACK BECAUSE NOW MY PHONE CAN'T CONNECT WITH THE CAR AND MY RADIO ISN'T WORKING TOO. THEY SAY IT S THE RADIO SO THEY HAVE ORDERED A NEW ONE. I'M IN SALES AND MY CAR HAS 29,000 MILES AND I LOSE THE WARRANTY ON THE COMPUTER AR 35,000 MILES. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO I CONTACTED CHRYLSER AND WAS GIVEN A CASE WORKER AND CASE NUMBER,AND WAS TOLD BY THE CASE WORKER THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE 200S. THE RENTAL CAR AGENCY SAYS THERE ARE A LOT OF RENTALS BY DEALERS TRYING TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM WITH THE 200S. I WOULD SEND YOU THE VIDEO BUT WITH IT BEING ON THE PHONE I'M NOT SURE HOW.
TRANSMISSION HAS NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. HARD SHIFTING, HESITATIONS, AND LUNGING FORWARD ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. MY CAR HAS BEEN TO AN AUTHORIZED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIRS AND THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMES WHEN COMING TO A STOP THAT THE CAR WILL DOWNSHIFT ABRUPTLY, CAUSING MY CAR TO LUNGE FORWARD, I'VE ALMOST HIT CARS STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I DO HAVE SERVICE RECORDS FROM EACH TIME MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP, WHICH STARTED IN AUGUST OF 2016.
CAR LOST ALL POWER TO THE WHEELS UNDER FULL THROTTLE GOING UP A HILL. THE DASH BOARD LIGHT FOR A TEMPURATOR SENDER CAME ON FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND THE CAR WAS LOCKED OUT PUTTING IT INTO PARK. THE CAR ONLY WENT INTO THE "S" POSITION OF THE TRANSMISSION BUT STILL HAD NO POWER TO THE WHEELS. THE CAR WAS LOCKED OUT OF TURNING TO A ANY GEAR. I HAD TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART SEVERAL TIME UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION WAS FREE. FINALLY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER. THIS CAN ALL BE VERIFIED BY THE STATE POLICE WHO STOPPED TO HELP THE DEALER SAID IT WAS AS IF A COMPUTER RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE, THE CAR HAD TO BE REBOOTED!~. THATS FINE IF YOU'RE STANDING STILL; BUT NOT TRAVELING AT 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. IT WAS FORTUNATE THAT I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND COULD COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND IN THE LEFT LANE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAD NO POWER!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP, THE VEHICLE JERKED BEFORE HALTING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE JERKED BEFORE MOVING IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE ABOUT THE DIAGNOSIS AND WHAT WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
TOOK MY CAR INTO PRIVATE SHOP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT 11967 MILES ON 7/29/2013. WAS TOLD THAT BOTH OF MY FRONT CALIPERS ARE LEAKING. TOOK TO NEARBY DODGE DEALER SO I COULD GET TO WORK ON TIME. THE SERVICE WRITER BLEW EXCUSES AT ME. "WELL THAT IS NOT A LEAK." LOOKING RIGHT AT THE DRIVER SIDE CALIPER I SAID OK THEN WHAT IS SEAPING FROM THAT CALIPER. AND HE CONTINUED SAYING THAT THIS NOT SOMETHING THE DEALER HAS SEEN AS A PROBLEM. THEY ENDED UP NOT RELEASING THE CAR TO ME BECAUSE OF THE BRAKE CALIPERS. I HAVE A RENTAL NOW. SO DID I BUY A TIMEBOMB? I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2013 CHALLENGER RT WITH A VERY SOFT BRAKE PEDAL. CAN YOU HELP? I AM SCARED TO GET BACK IN THIS 200.
IN JUNE 2016 THE AWD LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY. A CALL TO THE SERVICE DEPT. SAID IT COULD BE A GLITCH IN THE COMPUTER, TURN IT OFF FOR A WHILE AND RESTART. THE AWD LIGHT CONTINUED TO LIGHT UP. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER CHIP PROBLEM (PTU MODULE WAS BAD) THAT TOOK 4 DAYS TWO FIX.TWO WEEKS LATER ON 7/18/16 AFTER NOTICING DARK SPOTS ON MY DRIVEWAY I TOOK THE CAR IN, THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A LEAK OF TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE BELL HOUSING CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION IN A 2 YEAR OLD CAR TO BE REPLACED. AN HOUR AGO, (7/28/18 9:30P) I WAS DRIVING 60 MILES AN HOUR ON THE GSP WHEN THE BATTERY LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON AND "SHIFT TO P" MESSAGE CAME ON IN THE DASH. THE "D" ON THE GEAR SHIFT PANEL STARTED FLASHING ABOUT A MIN LATER THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. I PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR. IT STARTED UP I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ON A DARK HIGHWAY WITH LOTS OF TRAFFIC. IT WAS A CATASTROPHE IN THE MAKING! THIS IS THE 3RD MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS NEW VEHICLE.
CHRYSLER/DEALER FAILING TO HONOR RECALL R24/NHTSA 15V-470
I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY 2016 AND WAS TOLD IT WAS BOUGHT BACK BECAUSE OF A SENSOR AND HAD GONE THROUGH FULL INSPECTION AND WAS CLEARED FOR SALE. TWO DAYS LATER MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR HAD ACCELERATED FROM 60-92 ON IT'S OWN. THE DEALERSHIP PUTS NEW PARTS IN AND EVERY TWO WEEKS AFTER I GET MY CAR BACK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR IS ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN. CHRYSLER HAS A TEAM TALKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK AROUND 10 TIMES AND IS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. LAST WEEK IT ACCELERATED FROM 72 TO 97 ON THE FREEWAY WHILE MY 2 YEAR OLD SON WAS IN THE CAR. WE ALMOST HIT A SEMI. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW CHRYSLER IS ABLE TO KEEP CLOSING MY CASES AND TELLING ME THEY FIXED IT WHEN IT IS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I'VE GOOGLED ENGINE ISSUES ON THESE CARS AND FOUND MINE WASN'T THE ONLY ONE DOING THIS. I AM PAYING A LOT OF MONEY FOR AN UNSAFE CAR THAT KEEPS ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAITED FOR APPROXIMATELY A MINUTE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 2015 FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
MY AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN JUNE 2016. IT HAD BEEN REPORTED LATER THE SAME YEAR THE ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAG WARNING AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ISSUE, THERE HAS BEEN NO CONTACT NOR RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE. MY VEHICLE CAN BE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, THIS AIR BAG WARNING IS MAKING ME ANXIOUS FOR MY SAFETY. I UNDERSTAND THAT MY VIN# WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL, BUT HOW IS THAT MY ISSUE. I HAD THIS CAR FOR LESS THAN SIX MOS. IN 2016 IT IS NOW 2018. I THOUGHT THAT SURELY UPON CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICE IN 2016 AND FILING THE COMPLAINT THE ISSUE WOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED AND RESOLVED BY NOW, BUT TO MY DISMAY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AS LITTLE OF A CONCERN OR INQUIRY REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THIS PRODUCT.

PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS REMEDIED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,600.

CAR STALLS INTO NEUTRAL OR JUST DIES WHEN IN MOTION, THE AIRBAGS DO NOT WORK, THE MIDDLE CONSOLE WENT OUT IN 2016, THE CAR TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR STOPPED WORKING IN 2016, THE CAR RANDOMLY REVS INTO A HIGHER GEAR
DRIVING VEHICLE IT JUST POPS OUT OF GEAR AND WON'T MOVE. OFTEN SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND EMERGENCY BRAKE COMES UP. THE ENGINE DOESN'T DIE, BUT PRESSING THE GAS DOES NOTHING. I HAVE TO SHUT IT OFF AND SOMETIMES IT LETS ME PUT IT IN GEAR. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES FOR THIS, EACH TIME THEY SAY IT'S FIXED AND THERE'S NO RECALL. MY FAMILY'S LIFE HAS BEEN PUT AT RISK, WE WERE ON A BLIND CORNER DOING 35, AND IT JUST STOPS. TODAY, WENT TO LEAVE THE HOUSE AND IT WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR AFTER STARTING, THE SAME SERVICE MESSAGES CAME UP. WE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO LUCK. AT THIS TIME, DEALER JUST SAYS TRADE IT IN.. THEY HAVE MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND WE HAVE A LOANER, BUT I'M SCARED TO PUT MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR, IT KEEPS HAPPENING.

THE CONTACT SCHEDULED A SECOND APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR AUGUST 11, 2016 AND THE DEALER STATED AGAIN THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD SUPPLY THE PARTS TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. CAR WILL STALL WHILE COMING TO A STOP OR SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE OIL NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND THAT THE ENGINE WOULD AUTOMATICALLY "SHUT OFF" IF AN OIL CHANGE IS NEEDED. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR RECALLS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. IN JULY 2016 THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOCKED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR INTERSECTION . THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT STALLED ON US DUE TO A RECALL PART. JUST SO HAPPENED THE DEALERSHIP WE GO TO HAD JUST FIXED THE SAME RECALL ISSUE IN JUNE. IN SEPT 2016 THE VEHICLEVEHICLE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE. OCT VEHICLE WENT BACK INTO THE SHOP AND I PICKED IT UP TODAY FOR THE SAME PART AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP FOR 5 DAYS WITH NO REMEDY. HAVE TO MENTION THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE MY CAR BEFORE IT COULD BE RELEASED TO ME. FUNNY THING THEY GAVE IT BACK TO ME WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR BACK SO THEY CAN FIGURE OUT WHY THE ENGINE LIGHT US ON. I ASKED WHAT THEY DID TO MY VEHICLE BUT IT'S LIKE NO ONE KNOWS....I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT WITH MY VEHICLE. MY WIFE DRIVES OUR KIDS EVERYDAY AND FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD DUE TO IT CONSTANTLY STALLING.

THEY DISMOUNTED THE TIRE FROM THE WHEEL AND FOUND A STRESS CRACK IN THE WHEEL THAT WAS CAUSING THE TIRE TO GO FLAT. THIS WAS ON THE FRONT TIRE AND IF NOT FOR THE LOW TIRE INDICATOR LIGHT THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO HAVE HAD A WRECK. THE HEAD MECHANIC SAID THAT IT WAS NOT FROM ANY DAMAGE FROM HITTING ANYTHING. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT THIS AND WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER. I EVEN ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR OF THE LADY HANDLING MY CLAIM AND SHE WAS ALSO NOT TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. I FEEL THAT THE METAL USED IN MAKING THIS WHEEL IS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. I WORKED AS A FIREFIGHTER FOR OVER 22 YEARS AND HAVE SEEN MANY WRECK. I FEEL THAT THIS IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH THAT IF SOMEONE DOESN'T LOOK INTO THIS THAT IT COULD END UP CAUSING SEVERAL WRECKS AND WHICH COULD END UP CAUSING SOMEONE TO LOSE THEIR LIFE. FROM THE TIME I DROVE IT HOME, THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION BEHAVING ERRATICALLY, SURGING OR RACING IDLE AND LURCHING FROM A STOPPED AND/OR SLOW MPH. IT HAS ALSO BEHAVED AS THOUGH ITS SUDDENLY IN IDLE ONLY ONE TO JUMP BACK INTO GEAR. IT'S BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE TCM RECALL AND THAT HASN'T REMEDIED THE PROBLEM. THEN A NEW SAFETY RECALL WAS RELEASED AND THERE IS NO DATE ON WHEN THE MOST RECENT ISSUES WILL BE FIXED. I SAW THAT MY VEHICLE WAS POTENTIALLY LISTED UNDER THE CONSENT AGREEMENT'S BUY-BACK OPTION FOR OWNERS. WHEN I SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS A BUY-BACK PROGRAM AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT WITHIN THE CONSENT AGREEMENT. I REQUESTED ANOTHER DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO OTHER DEPARTMENT. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR AND WAS FLATLY DENIED BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHO HAD A SPEECH IMPEDIMENT.
