TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE UCONNECT SYSTEM FAILED. THE FAILURE OF THE UCONNECT SYSTEM CAUSED THE RADIO TO DISPLAY ALL WHITE ON THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM SCREEN. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V461000 (EQUIPMENT). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR REMEDIED; HOWEVER, THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER AND DUE TO THE GLARE FROM THE NAVIGATION SCREEN, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN CRASH WITH A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING THE STREET. DUE TO THE GLARE, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE PEDESTRIAN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE PEDESTRIAN DID NOT SUFFER ANY INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,200.
BEFORE REACHING 1000 MILES, I KNEW THAT THERE WERE TERRIBLE PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE: JERKING, HESITATING AND STALLING. THESE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS MAKE MY CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH ACCIDENTS AS A RESULT OF THESE DEFECTIVE PROBLEMS!!. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO OUR DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY CAR. BUT FOR SOME REASON THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN TO CHECK ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF SO MANY OF THE SAME ISSUES I WAS TOLD & ALSO STATED THAT IT WASN'T THEIR FAULT TO CHECK WITH CHRYSLER CORP?? SINCE THEN WAS ALMOST KILLED TWICE (MY WHOLE FAMILY)!! MERGING ONTO I-20 IN GEORGIA, GOING ABOUT 50 WHILE MERGING WHEN THERE WAS A TRACTOR TRAILER MOVING UP QUICKLY IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR I HIT THE GAS BUT NOTHING HAPPENED!!! I STARTED YELLING OH MY GOD MY KIDS SCREAMED DADDY MY WIFE SCREAMING THEN, THE CAR SHUTS OFF SO NOW IM WITHOUT POWER, THE TRUCK STARTED LAYING ON HIS HORN THEN THERE WAS BLUE SMOKE FROM THE TIRES OF THE TRUCK!! "TWICE" THIS HAS HAPPENED!!! OTHER INCIDENTS, WHILE PULLING UP TO A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT WHILE SLOWING TO STOP IT WOULD JERK THEN SPEED UP SOMETIMES THROWING ME INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC!! SOMETHING HAS TO HAPPEN!! THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP!!
WHILE DRIVING AT 30MPH THE 200C JERKED FORWARD AND COMPLETELY STOPPED. ALL LIGHTS ON THE GEAR CONTROL WERE LIT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED. THE SYSTEM SAID TO PULL OVER SAFELY AND TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WE WERE UNABLE TO DO ANY OF THIS BECAUSE THE CARE WAS STUCK IN DRIVE SO WE WERE UNABLE TO EVEN PUSH THE CAR TO A SAFE AREA. WE WAITED 20 MINUTES IN HOPE THAT THE CAR WOULD RESET ITSELF. UNFORTUNATELY IT DID NOT AND WE WERE ADVISED BY ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN ORDER TO RESET THE CAR. UNFORTUNATELY WE DID NOT HAVE A WRENCH IN THE CAR IN ORDER TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND WE HAD TO FLAG SOMEONE DOWN FOR A WRENCH. VERY SURPRISED THAT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE DID NOT COME OUT TO HELP WITH THE SITUATION. AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY AND WAITING ABOUT 1 MINUTE THE CAR RESET AND WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. SINCE THIS HAPPENED THE OTHER DAY WE NOW DRIVE WITH A WRENCH IN ORDER TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. WHEN I CALLED FOR SERVICE CHRYSLER SAID THAT THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY RECALLS FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE!!! THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE CARS WERE FLYING OFF OF THE EXPRESSWAY AND COULD HAVE REAR ENDED US. UNFORTUNATELY WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU ARE STUCK IN DRIVE AND YOU CAN'T EVEN PUSH THE CAR. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL UNTIL TODAY WHEN I HEARD FROM THEIR MANAGER. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE BUT TO BRING THE CAR IN AND THEY WOULD SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART A DAY LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE REMEDY WAS PERFORMED INCORRECTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,890.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE IT WAS REPLACED ONCE AND WENT AGAIN SO LESS THAN 20K MILES AND IT WENT THROUGH 2 TRANSMISSIONS. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE AND REFUSE TO DRIVE THE CAR AFTER THE LAST INCIDENT. A/C FROZE UP HAD TO REPLACE CARPET IN VEHICLE 2X I HAVE HAD A RENTAL CAR FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS WHILE IT WAS BEING REPAIRED. TRANSMISSION FAILED GOING UP HILL 70 MPH IN PA WITH SEMI-TRUCK BEHIND ME WHO ALMOST REAR ENDED ME THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND I LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING POWER STEERING. I SLOWED DOWN AT 15 MPH THE CAR WENT INTO PARK AND THE E-BRAKE WENT ON AND JERKED US ALL OVER THE CAR.
THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 5 TIMES. WHILE INCREASING OR DECREASING SPEED ON THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM USING THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IS DISABLED AND THE CAR SCREEN ALERTS THE DRIVER THAT ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IS UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS LOOKED AT THE CAR TWICE. THE SECOND TIME, THEY REPLACED THE COMPUTER MODULE FOR THE ACC. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS CAN HAPPEN ON HIGHWAY, ON CITY ROADS, WHILE GOING FAST, WHILE GOING SLOW. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS GOING STRAIGHT, NOT TURNING, AS IT IS UNSAFE TO ADJUST THE CONTROLS IN A TURN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE THAN FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JIM BROWNE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM TAMPA BAY, 10909 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612, (813) 452-5499) SEVERAL TIMES, BUT A PERMANENT SOLUTION WAS NOT PROVIDED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE KEPT STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER FOR OVER TWO MONTHS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE FAILURES WOULD RECUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2015 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FRONT PASSENGER TIRE ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS BROTHER WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE, WHEN ANOTHER MOTORIST SCRAPED/CLIPPED THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS SOME DAMAGE. BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED. *JB
2015 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO UNEXPLAINED SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHEN COASTING OR TRYING TO SLOW DOWN. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE FIRST PROBLEM HE ENCOUNTERED WITH THE VEHICLE, WAS A SQUEAKING BRAKE SYSTEM. AFTER TWO VISITS TO THE SHOP, THE RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THEN IT TOOK THREE TO FOUR TRIPS TO RESOLVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TRUNK LATCH THAT WOULD NOT RELEASE THE TRUNK LID. THEN IT TOOL A COUPLE OF OTHER TRIPS TO RESOLVE A PROBLEM WITH A YELLOW ENGINE EARNING LIGHT THAT CAME ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON. *JB

MY CAR JERKS AND/OR HESITATES WHILE DRIVING. FROM A COMPLETE STOP POSITION MY CAR HAS SPUTTERED WITHOUT GOING ANY PLACE. I WOULD HAVE TO TURN OFF MY VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND TURN IT BACK ON SO I CAN GET IT TO GO. I HAVE A RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND YOU CAN HEAR IT CLEARLY COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. A BRAND NEW CAR AND IT HAS A LOT OF TRANNY ISSUES. THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC IS THE WORST DESIGN WITH MAJOR FLAWS. CHRYSLER DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS IT THROWS A CODE. 15 TIMES IN THE REPAIR SHOP AND IT IS STILL THERE WITH THE SAME ISSUE THAT NO TECH CAN FIGURE OUT. PLEASE SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THE BUYBACK PROGRAM THEY OFFER IS A SHAM DON'T BELIEVE THEM.

I WAS STOPPED AT STOP SIGN WHEN I TOOK FOOT OFF BRAKE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE IT COULDN'T GET TRACTION WITH BACK TIERS IT FELT LIKE THE BACK RIGHT TIRE LOCKED UP AND IT JERKED BACK AND FORTH UNTIL I TOOK FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR. I STOPPED BUT COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG. THIS HAPPENED ON 8-28-15. ON 8-29-15 WAS IN A DRIVE THRU AND WHEN CAR IS IN PARK AND I PUT IN DRIVE IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND FROM ENGINE AND CAR JERKS SOMEWHAT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I ACCELERATE IT HESITATES TO GO. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I AM ALMOST SCARED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE OF THE HESITATION TO GO, AND COULD CAUSE A WRECK IF THE TIRE THING HAPPENS AGAIN.

I FINANCED THE CHRYSLER 200 2015, USED ON 7/13/15. AROUND AUGUST 28TH, 2015 I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR STALLED WHILE IN MOTION IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. A MESSAGE APPEARED ON DASHBOARD: "ENGINE WARMING WAIT TO START", THE KNOB AND BREAK LOCKED I COULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE. THE MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD THEN CHANGED TO: "SHIFT TO P." AFTER PRESSING THE PUSH TO START BUTTON ON AND OFF I GOT THE CAR MOVING AND DECIDED TO HEAD TO THE DEALER CAUTIOUSLY, ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER IT HAPPENED ANOTHER 3 TIMES AND I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MOVE AGAIN AND GET IT IN THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD IT IN FOR A FEW DAYS AND TOLD ME THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. AN HOUR INTO DRIVING AFTER I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR STALLED AGAIN THIS TIME IT WAS DARK OUT AND I WAS ON A HIGHWAY (LUCKILY RIGHT LANE) THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON THIS TIME IT WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK. (POLICE WERE CALLED TOO). THIS PROBLEM WAS BLAMED ON THE R24 RECALL, A MONTH LATER I GOT THE CAR BACK WITH THE PART THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. THE CAR STALLED AGAIN ON 4/20/2016, SAME MESSAGE ON DASHBOARD THIS TIME IT WAS WHILE MOVING AND MAKING A TURN AND I ALMOST GOT HIT HEAD ON BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THEY TOOK THE CAR IN AGAIN, SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG THIS TIME, HAPPENED AGAIN IN JUNE,2016 THEY SAID AGAIN NOTHING WAS WRONG. IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THE END OF SEPT,2016 AND I GOT A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE S55 RECALL WHICH CAN CAUSE STALLING. THEY KEPT THE CAR IN DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD TO WAIT FOR PART FROM CHRYSLER. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS FIXED AND ON 11/6/2016 I PICKED UP THE CAR AND IT STALLED ABOUT 100FT AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOOK IT BACK IN, AND NOW THEY SAID AGAIN THAT IT IS FIXED AND FOR ME TO PICK IT UP. I AM TERRIFIED, IT IS AN UNSAFE, UNPREDICTABLE VEHICLE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE CHRYSLER FOR THE SAKE OF SAFETY. HELP ME.

VEHICLE HAS STALLED AND LOSES ALL POWER AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. IT STAYS IN DRIVE. THE CAR WILL NOT RE-START AND IS STUCK IN DRIVE. YOU ARE UNABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER TO PUT IT IN PARK. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ONCE BEFORE IT WENT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEN AGAIN THE DAY AFTER IT WAS PICKED UP FROM BEING REPAIRED. SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THEY DID AN R08 RECALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I AM AFRAID THAT SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE INJURED OR KILLED WITH THIS CAR. CURRENTLY VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN. DEALERSHIP THINKS IT MAY BE ANOTHER RECALL R24 THAT CAME OUT THREE DAYS AGO BUT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. I NOW HAVE NO VEHICLE AT ALL AND DO NOT KNOW FOR HOW LONG!
ENGINE LIGHT HAD CAME ON AGAIN AS I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE WHEN IT HESITATED SLIGHTLY, SEVERAL TIMES ITS BEEN IN FOR "FUEL ISSUES" WHICH STARTED BACK IN OCT 14', BUT THIS TIME IT NEEDED AND TCM UPDATE. AFTER THIS WAS DONE IT CAME BACK WITH A CODE READING IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I'M GLAD MINE WAS JUST STARTING THE JERKING OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS, EVEN THOUGH NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, IT MAY HAVE BEEN FAR LONGER THEN THAT BUT ONLY OCCASIONALLY, IN REVERSE AND WHEN GETTING UP TO SPEED.THIS CAR HAS TOO MANY ISSUES AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE BECAUSE AT ANY MOMENT YOUR TRANSMISSION CAN DROP ON IT. FOR A NEW CAR THIS IS TOO MUCH AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO LOSE THEIR LIFE DRIVING THIS CAR IF IT CUTS OUT AT THE WRONG TIME.
NOTICED THAT MY FRONT BUMPER IS WARPING AWAY FROM THE HEADLIGHTS AND IS ALSO DAMAGING THE BODY PAINT AS A RESULT OF FLEXING WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS NOW THE 4TH ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASE TO GO ALONG WITH MY MULTIPLE REPAIRS FOR BRAKES, TRANSMISSION, AND ESIM (FUEL SYSTEM).
WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL IT WILL NOT HOLD SPEED GOING DOWN HILL - WILL SHIFT DOWN MORE THAN ONCE & WILL GO UP TO 60+ MILES PER HOUR. GOING OVER A SMALL HILL WILL SHIFT DOWN MORE THAN ONCE USUALLY - NOT ALL THE TIME. THIS HAS BEEN FLASHED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO CHANGE TO THE PROBLEM. WHEN FIRST STARTING THE CAR THE TACH STAYS VERY HIGH & WILL DECREASE AS YOU SHIFT INTO REVERSE, BUT NOT ENOUGH. HAVE TO HOLD YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE ALL THE TIME. WHEN LEAVING FROM A STOP SIGN THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT GO "IN" RIGHT AWAY - IT TAKES A BIT TO ACTUALLY "GO".. AS YOU'RE PULLING ONTO A HIGHWAY.

BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. AFTER THEY STOPPED WORKING AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH THE LIGHT TO SERVICE THE BRAKES CAME ON. NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD. ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE UCONNECT WORKING BUT THE BRAKES WERE A HUGE DEAL BREAKER.
ON A BUSY FOUR LANE AVENUE, MY CAR JUST STOPPED. WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD TO CALL POLICE AND THEY BLOCKED TRAFFIC MOVED OFF OF HIGHWAY. COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE COMPLAINING THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON.
I TYPED IN A COMPLAINT FOR THE 15TH AND 17TH BUT PUT THE WRONG VIN NUMBER.
ON 8/17/15, I BARELY MADE AROUND THE CORNER FROM MY WORK WHEN I CAME TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF. TOOK A FEW TIMES PRESSING THE BUTTON TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN BUT FINALLY STARTED AGAIN AND MADE IT HOME SAFELY. NEXT MORNING I DROVE TO THE END OF MY STREET AND STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND AGAIN MY CAR SHUT OFF AND THIS TIME TOOK 5 MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN.....I WAS TOLD TO BRING MY CAR IN TO BE CHECKED BY DEALERSHIP ON 8/20 ASKED IF THEY WOULD SUPPLY ME A LOANER CAR UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED AND THEY TOLD ME NO BECAUSE I DIDN'T PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. SINCE WHEN DO I NEED TO PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR A CAR THAT HAS A MANUFACTURED WARRANTY STILL ON??? I PURCHASED THE CAR IN MAY 2015 AND IT HAS BARELY 7000 MILES ON IT....I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR HOME TODAY AS I MADE SAFELY TO WORK HOWEVER I WORRY THAT IT MAY SHUT OFF AGAIN WHEN I AM IN AN INTERSECTION OR A HIGHWAY.
