My 2015 Chrysler 200S vehicle shuts OFF while driving. Mostly when I slow down to make a turn or come to a stop sign. Others have reported a shut down while driving on the highway. Battery, alternator, transmission, belts - have all been checked as okay. I found recall information about this being a real mfg problem but I've never received a recall notice about it. I've shut down while crossing a busy street and almost got hit. I'm afraid to get it on the highway now or drive it anywhere for fear of getting stranded or causing an accident.

The car just dangerously shuts off without warning while driving in traffic. The Battery is new, and all fluids are full. This is the second time, in less than a month, that this dangerous shutdown has happened. Both times being while the car is in motion. The first time this dangerous incident occurred, the car started back up. The airflow sensor, All sparks plugs & coil packs were changed & Throttle body cleaned. This time, the car will not crank back up.
Occupant Classification Module (OCM) or the Seat Cushion Foam (SCF) of the front passenger seat replaced instead of the both pieces together, which make up a complete calibrated set. The part was recalled I have the same type of car but my VIN is not showing up on the list. My airbag sensor goes off and I was advised that the above is what the issue is. My car for some reason doe snot come up as needing to be fixed but my car has this direct issue with the passenger side airbag. I was in accident on Nov.21,2021 it was a T bone the truck that hit me the airbag was deployed and mine didnt but my car was totaled damage there is a safety issue.I was doing about 25mph and the other vehicle about 45mph.
My vehicle has been recalled but I’m noticing problems with my transmission when in switching gears. Sometimes it shifts into neutral, my radio shuts off periodically and my seat fills a lot thinner then the passenger seat. My air bag sensors pops on as well as the gas cap sensor and I just replaced the gas cap 2 months ago.

I purchased this car a yr ago and have complained about the transmission since the beginning along with oil issues and power issues. They refused to fix it. The car downshifts and throws itself forward and it's almost caused numerous accidents. There's times the car will not go forward and when you hit the gas a little it revs and shoots forward. It's very unsafe and I can't even drive it. I'm paying for a car that's very unsafe
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and running, the gear shifter was stuck and would not shift into drive. Car says “engine warming, please wait to start” then it take at least 5 mins to actually start the car. My cars also been overheating since my software update for my recall.
Car automatically shuts off from sharp turn or hard stop
Car randomly stall and shuts downs when driving. Sometimes it will turn back on right away, sometimes it completely dies in the road and it has to be towed since everything shuts down. Unable to put it in neutral and push it, or roll up any windows. Before it happens traction control will flash very quickly, other times when it has completely died the power steering warning comes up quickly. I have taken it to the dealership but it doesn't throw a code so they keep telling me they can't do anything about it. There are many articles online about it, but nothing is being done as far as recalls.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the engine seemed to be struggling. When oil is low the car stalls and shuts off while in operation without warning. There is no "oil low" light or indicator provided to give a heads up. Also, my car stalled 2 months after an oil change without me reaching the 3000 mile mark.
I am receiving a sign stating “warming engine wait to start” the car does not start. When I apply gasoline it stalls to start. While driving the car shuts off in traffic. I’ve been to car shops who refer me to go to Chrysler because they can’t fix the problem stating “it is an electrical problem”. I’ve taken the car to Chrysler dealerships they continuously tell me otherwise. They’ve cleared codes and fix the last recall issue after this the car was okay for a few months now it continues to do the same thing. I’m am afraid that this could harm my passengers and I especially my child. I’ve literally turned while traffic was clear and safe to turn onto a main ride and my car shut off mid turn as traffic caught up. This has happened after fueling my vehicle. The only light that continues to appear is the battery light which I’ve had checked by many mechanics and technicians as well as the starter and alternator.
upon taking my chrysler 2015 200 limited 2.4L in-line into BAY AREA CHRYSLER dealership to figure out why my car wasnt running correctly they it on their diagnostic they said it needed a body control module which the dealership put a new one charged me 199.20 to put it in plus the $376.35 for the module that was ordered which I paid .when I picked up my car it was parked with the ignition on and walked off with the key fob.after paying for another 200 $ for a new key fob I was told the new part didnt work.so now the center stack which controls the radio the heater /air conditioner controls screen off on selecter knob and parking brake do not work so im wondering if the electrical recall or failure of the dealership to do their job

I was driving down the road and the car lost all power, I couldn't even turn on my hazard lights, wasn't sure of car was going to roll backwards if I got out, lucky no one hit me
The back of the seat does not stay secured in place. Heavy acceleration may cause the seat to recline on its own
PCM failed and my car went into limp mode all of a sudden while going down a very busy and fast paced road with limited visibility. This entire car should be recalled after all the serious safety issues I've seen from it.
I just bought it. I put my foot down on the pedal a c the car acts like there's no power than jerks the car forward. And going down hills the acceleration sticks and rpms shoot high than jerk down
I tried talking to Chrysler but they were no help. They have had a power failure recall but I was told that based on my vin number, didnt affect my vehicle. Intermittent power steering failure. I replaced the battery, I replace the rack and pinion and it’s still doing the same thing. $2300 down the drain. You can be driving and loose the ability to steer the vehicle. There are tons of complaints about this and they all say the same. They have replaced major parts and the issue persist. When speaking to crysler over the phone, they said that the replacement of the rack and pinion would fix the issue. Thats not true. https://www.200forums.com/threads/power-steering-failure.30529/ https://www.carproblemzoo.com/chrysler/200/power-steering-failed-problems.php https://www.carproblemzoo.com/chrysler/200/steering-rack-and-pinion-problems.phphttps://www.aboutautomobile.com/Consumer-Complaint/2015/Chrysler/200/Steering There is alot more. I have been dealing with this since August. I dont know what else to do or where to turn but this is a major safety issue and it needs to be made public and addressed .
Electric dial transmission selector wont go into park. The recall was for the six cylinder but this is a four cylinder with the same problem.
When the vehicle accelerates, the gear shift is harsh and very scary to the point it feels like the car is gonna fall apart. When decelerating, the same thing a occurs. At one point the whole car shifted to the side while attempting to accelerate or decelerate. When making a turn and mainly a U-turn, the steering feels like it's harsh and feels like it will break if it was turned too far or too hard accidentally. The gear shifting/transmission does not shift very smoothly at all times. Its scary when it switches gears. Both accelerating and decelerating in the middle of the highway whether going from 60mph to 70 mph feel or 60mph going down to 40mph. I'm sure it was steering and gear shifting issue because I felt it myself. It sure could be engine problem on the top of that as well. Thank you!
My car is not shifting correctly after the recent recall for a software update. My engine light came on the very next day. The problem happens mostly on the highway as I try to accelerate. My car runs between 3500-4500 RPMs on the highway unless I am going downhill. I have to keep letting off the gas in order for the car to shift. I am not entering the highway at a safe speed because my car will not go. I am afraid this is going to cause a wreck. I am not sure if this is along the same problem, but my remote start stopped working correctly at the same time. I can start it with the remote, but it will only stay on for about 10 seconds, this is also NOT due to being low on gas. I called the dealer about this issue but they want to charge $150 to even look at the car.
Issue #1) 2015 Chrysler 200 looses power and goes dead in the middle of the road. Shift gear to park light comes on as it goes dead. Vehicle has done this repeatedly. I've replaced battery, the keyfob battery, and had the oil changed. Issue#2) The passenger airbag alarm is indicating problems with the airbag. Issue #3) Vehicle is an automatic, but exhibits stalling when shifting at sporadic and intermittent times since purchase date. #Summary - It is highly likely the repairs from the Chrysler 200 recalls were either never performed or the VIN to the Chrysler 200 I drive was not included in the recalls. Please help resolve this as soon as possible.
Car will cut off while driving after sharp turns. Lights on dashboard will start to flash and then “Shift vehicle to park” message will appear. No service light appears when car is started
Body control module wasnt working took it to the dealership did a diagnostic and it said body control module needed replaced we paid to buy this part and to have it put in and it still didnt work i have the receipts for this the dealership then wanted us to pay for more dignostics and parts and still isnt working there is a recall on this just want my car to be fixed and running properly and be safe on the road.still a problem with the vehicles high communication which tells me if its not communicateing the part to the vehicle theres a problem in the electrical . there should be nothing going wrong the car is only 7 years old .I have been trying to get to the bottom of this the dealership Grand Bay Area jeep chrysler has been of no help what so ever .2 recalls already campain #15V470000 recall #R24 And campaign #14 V480000 RECALL#P43. And on7/23 for an exploytation of the software and the antilocking brake system is not working properly. This whole situation is not good I desperatly need help all of these problems are safety issues
My car completely cut off while I was driving. I have no check lights on. New battery was put in last year.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle started overheating, the transmission was slipping, and then the vehicle lost motive power. There were warning no lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle would jerk and would appear to start to stall. The contact would often have to pull over to restart the vehicle and regain proper function. The failure occurred approximately 7-8 times total. There was a notification that the key fob was not detected when in use. The contact stated that after being in an idle position then accelerating the vehicle lags acceleration. Right, when the vehicle reaches the desired speed then it would start to jerk. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the key fob battery, updated software on the PCM and TCM however the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,779.
When coming to a stop or accelerating from a complete stop either turning or straight, the engine stalls without warning & there is no power steering or momentum to safely pull over. I have been stuck with hazards at neighborhood stop signs, in stopped traffic after the light turns green, freeway on-ramps, in the center of small & large intersections blocking traffic, on railroad tracks, & more. It can take up to 3 tries for the engine to restart. Obviously, this is extremely unsafe, & I do not believe that I should be stuck in an intersection because a newer car with such low miles dies every day, often several times a day. In addition, the transmission is very jerky & the engine does not run smoothly once it restarts. That also happens occasionally upon the first start of the day. I do not understand why my vehicle was not included in the recall for this exact issue.
My car went into neutral by itself. Won’t shift into drive The car isn’t on the recall list by VIN but it is having issues that are listed in the recalls. The airbag light is on as well. I’ve never gotten into an accident since I’ve had the vehicle.
The uconnect/radio is off and it is available for inspection. In some extreme cases, a malfunctioning radio could potentially interfere with other critical vehicle functions, creating a safety hazard. Also it interferes with my A/C & only blows hot air when it chooses to work. It hasn’t been expected by the manufacturer, it’s only been expected audio tech & mechanics & stated they can’t detect the problem. There was no warning signs just a complete shut off & never turned on again
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving 75 mph, the hood inadvertently opened without warning. The contact immediately pulled over and noticed that the striker latch had detached from the hood and remained in the socket attached to the engine. The contact tied down the hood with material in his truck and then drove to a hardware store where he bought a metal chain and some clamps to temporarily hold the hood in place until he reached his destination. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where they informed him that they were unaware of such failures. The dealer referred him to an independent body shop for the repair of the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
I just purchased vehicle on 6/4/21 for my daughter. I gave her the car yesterday 6/10/21 today is 6/11/21 She was driving vehicle pulling out onto busy road and entire vehicle shut off would not start 30 min of sitting waiting for AAA which costs money to send them and car starts up what the heck death trap
Chrysler 200 (2015) engine shuts down with no notice. I have to literally stop, put the car in park and restart the ignition in the middle of the road to get the car moving again. Mostly when deacceleration (turning a corner/slowing down for a traffic stop, going over a bump, etc.). The electrical system just shuts off. Notice that the temperature outside is usually warm. Seems to do better in cooler weather. The car does not get hot (temperature gauge has been tested). Oil is full and gets regular changes. It is Extremely Dangerous. Many times throughout this month I have almost been hit. Angry people cuss you out for stopping in the middle of traffic. Not only does it cause me high anxiety but the safety of myself and my grandchild is at risk. I am afraid to drive it but have no other means of transportation. Message displays: Put gear in park, restart engine. No engine light comes on so the mechanics are unable to diagnosis issue. It has been put on the code reader but not codes appear. Midas said it was the Power Distribution Center Electrical Connector (R24) . That they couldn't fix it but that it should be under warranty but it wasn't for my VIN # . Prior ( a week or so before) the airbag alert illuminated on the dash (2 different times) but went off after I adjusted my seat. At one time after I started having problems my low light beam indicator said my bulb was out but then went off and my low light still worked (not burnt out). Now my control in the middle of my dash work.
After getting a tune-up, the car now runs worse than it did before, the car idles with a very intense vibration, I took it to a local mechanic who informed me that this model has a recall on the Electronic throttle control and for me to take the car back to where I had the tune-up done. I have an appointment on Monday the 13.
There were no warning lamps but my transmission shift very hard and is very jerky. Also my parking break keeps engaging on its own. Im afraid that im going to be driving and it will engage itsself. It hasnt happened while driving yet but it had many times while setting still and in gear

The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys where it was diagnosed that the ignition coil and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in a recall associated with the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000. Consumer called in March or May 2020 and asked if there was a recall on the vehicle because it was stalling and cutting off and was informed that there wasn't.
BOUGHT MY CAR A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS AGO FROM A LOCAL PRE OWNED CAR DEALERSHIP, SOON AFTER MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, THEIR MECHANIC WOULDN'T FIX IT WITHOUT TRYING TO CHARGE ME EVEN THOUGH I'M SUPPOSED TO HAVE A 4 YEAR WARRANTY. IT'S STILL NOT FIXED AFTER TWO YEARS, I JUST CAN'T AFFORD IT, AND NOW I'M FINDING OUT THERE WAS A RECALL PREVIOUSLY FOR THE ISSUE AND I DON'T THINK IT WAS EVER FIXED BUT THEY SAID IT WAS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO, IT'S EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND I CAN'T AFFORD ANY KIND OF REPAIR, I'VE BEEN ABSOLUTELY DUPED BY THIS DEALERSHIP AND IM FRIGHTENED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY LOVED ONES WHEN I DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP COULD KILL MY LOVED ONES AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.
