MY PASSENGER AIR BAG IS NOT WORKING IN MY 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. *TR
I HAVE A CHRYSLER 300 THAT WITHIN THE LAST 25,000.00 MILES HAS HAD THE SHIFTER FAIL TWICE. THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE INABILITY OF THE CAR TO BE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK TO ANY GEAR. I HAVE FOUND THIS ISSUE REPORTED ON NUMEROUS WEBSITES WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT MY FAILURE IS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE. CHRYSLER HAS REPAIRED THE SHIFTER BOTH TIMES ( ONCE UNDER WARRANTY AND ONCE OUT ) BUT I FEEL THAT THE PART AS BASIC AS A SHIFTER SHOULD NOT FAIL AND POSES A SAFETY ISSUE TO THE CONSUMER SINCE THE FAILURE COMPLETELY IMMOBILIZES THE CAR . *TR
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TRAVELING SOUTH ON I5 JUST MERGING INTO I99 JUST SOUTH OF BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIA WHEN THE CAR LURCHED TO A ALMOST TOTAL HALT. WE WERE ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. THIS OCCURRED ABOUT 6:00PM. WE DIDN'T ARRIVE HOME UNTIL AFTER 10:00PM HAVING BEEN TOWED OVER THE HILL TO SANTA CLARITA. NEEDLESS TO SAY HAVING OUR VEHICLE LOSE POWER LIKE THAT ON CROWDED FAST FREEWAY WAS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE ON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND THEN ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ALSO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND OTHER LOCAL MECHANICS BUT NO ONE COULD DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE MADE AN ILLEGAL LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG PARTIALLY DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED FRACTURED RIBS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BODY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
I HAD TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED AT 30,00 MILES. TOOK CAR FOR TIRES AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED STRUTS AND SHOCK. TOOK CARE TO HAVE STRUTS AND SHOCKS REPLACED AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TIRE RODS AND A BALL JOINTS FOR PASSENGER SIDE. DEALER SAID THE BALL JOINT HAD BEEN REDESIGNED AND I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH OR THE CAR COULD NOT BE ALIGNED. THEY WERE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE THE BALL JOINT FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE PASSENGER REAR WINDOW WILL NOT WORK. AND THE POWER SEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOES NOT WORK. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A CHRYSLER AGAIN. *TR
1. THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF REPORTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT LONG TERM AND SYSTEMIC OIL SLUDGE PROBLEMS CAUSING SUDDEN CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURES IN DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES USING THE 2.7L V6 ENGINE SPANNING FROM APPROX 1998-2005. MY WELL MAINTAINED 2005 CHRYSLER 300 ENGINE FAILED SUDDENLY AND DANGEROUSLY WHILE DRIVING. AND THIS WAS 1 MONTH AFTER PAYING THE CHRYSLER DEALER $850 TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT AT FACTORY SUGGESTED DATES. WITH ONLY 56,000 MILES AND OIL CHANGED EVERY 5000 MILES (OWNERS MANUAL SUGGESTS 7500) THE CHRYSLER DEALER INITIALLY WANTED OVER $2000 TO FIX AN UNEXPLAINED INTERNAL WATER PUMP LEAK, AND TIMING CHAIN FAILURE. ONLY AFTER HEATED DISCUSSION DID THEY BACK DOWN AND REPAIR IT FOR A $100 DEDUCTIBLE UNDER THE 7/70 DRIVEDRAIN WARRANTY. 2. THE FAILURE, HOW OFTEN IT OCCURS, ITS CONSEQUENCES. SIMPLY USING GOOGLE AND ENTERING "CHRYSLER 2.7L ENGINE FAILURE" LEADS TO HUNDREDS OF REPORTS OF SUSPECTED OIL SLUDGE (DUE TO POOR ENGINE DESIGN AND OIL NOT FLOWING PROPERLY) THAT CAUSES SUDDEN AND DANGEROUS UNEXPLAINED ENGINE FAILURE INVOLVING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. CHRYSLER AND ITS DEALERS FIRST ATTEMPT TO BLAME CUSTOMERS FOR NOT CHANGING THE OIL ENOUGH OR USING THE RIGHT OIL ETC. IN MY CASE MY DEALER SAID "...CHRYSLER IS BEING VERY QUIET ASKING US TO USE ALL NEW PARTS AND NOT GIVING US ALOT OF INFORMATION...". 3. WHAT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE; I.E, PARTS REPAIRED OR REPLACED (AND IF OLD PART IS AVAILABLE). MY DEALER SAID CHRYSLER TOLD THEM NOT TO TALK ABOUT IT AND TO USE NEW AND MODIFIED PARTS THEY GAVE THEM AND NOT TO USE ANY OF THE OLD PARTS. *TR
I HAVE 2005 CHRYSLER 300C, THE AIR BAG CONNECTION GOES BAD DUE TO AN AUTOMATIC TELESCOPING STEERING WHEEL, ITS A VERY EXPENSIVE FIX AND AN ENGINEERING FLAW NOT TO MENTION A SAFETY ISSUE, THIS PROBLEM APPEAR TO BE TO BE POPPING UP ON MANY 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD BECOME STUCK WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE CONTACT MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RELEASE THE GEAR SHIFTER BUT WAS ONLY ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY CHRYSLER 300, WHICH ARE BECOMING MORE COSTLY AND DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF MY PURCHASING A NEW CAR. FIRST, I WAS SUBJECT TO A RECALL REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION. NEXT, THE RACK AND PINION WENT OUT. THANKFULLY THAT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW I HAVE TO REPAIR THE OUTER TIE RODS WHEN I HAVE LESS THAN 75,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THIS REPAIR IS $500.00 ON TOP OF WHAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CAR PAYMENT AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE BRAKES RECENTLY HAD TO BE REPLACED (ANOTHER $350.00) AND I AM ALSO BEING PRESENTED WITH ISSUES PERTAINING TO THE OIL PAN (WHICH APPARENTLY IS MADE OF PLASTIC). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE VEHICLE HAS CONTINENTAL TIRES, SIZE P/225/60/R18. THE CONTACT NOTICED ABNORMAL TREAD WEAR ON THE TIRES. THE DEALER WOULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $785. THE CONTACT STILL HAS POSSESSION OF THE TIRES AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED ON ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300 PURCHASED USED IN 2008. HE STATED WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 75 MPH THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD EXPLODING NOISE AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THE ENGINE HAD FAILED. THE MECHANIC STATED THE ENGINE BLEW DUE TO LACK OF LUBRICATION, HOWEVER THERE WAS OIL IN THE ENGINE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGES WAS 57,000 AND CURRENT WAS 57,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FRONT RIGHT WHEEL MAKES LOUD BANGING SOUND. STARTED WHEN THE CAR HAD ABOUT 70,000 MILES ON IT. THEN CAME A HORRIBLE SQUEAKING SOUND. THIS OCCURS CONSTANTLY WHEN DRIVING AND ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL. I REPLACED THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING IN JUNE. THEY WERE COMPLETLEY GONE AND MADE THE WHEELS HAVE A LOT OF PLAY . THE NOISE WENT AWAY FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AND IS NOW BACK LOUDER THAN EVER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT PARKED HER VEHICLE, BUT IT FAILED TO RESTART. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, SHE CALLED AAA AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND NO MAINTENANCE WAS DONE TO THE ENGINE PRIOR TO THE DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS RECENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE, IN WHICH THERE WERE NO FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,815.
HEADLIGHTS GO OFF AND ON RANDOMLY AND BLINK FREQUENTLY INCLUDES INTERIOR LIGHTS. VERY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. NO HEADLIGHTS THEN THEY COME BACK ON. *TR
SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER CHRYSLER 300 OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD TO REPLACE PART AVG PRICE ABOUT 500.00 MY CAR HAS 24,000 MILES ON IT AND I DO HAVE MY OLD PART. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT HAD JUST FUELED THE VEHICLE. HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AND CONTINUED DRIVING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EACH TIME FUEL WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE FOURTH TIME OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT, BUT THEY REFUSED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 35,000.
PURCHASED THE CHRYSLER 300 JAN 2005 AND WITHIN A FEW MONTHS VEHICLE STARTED PULLING TO THE RIGHT. WE TOOK THE CAR IN 3 TIMES WITHIN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF HAVING IT AND THEY TRIED TO FIX, SAID THEY HAD AND WAS NOT. ON THE FINAL ATTEMPT, THEY TOLD US TO TAKE IT TO AN ALIGNMENT SHOP ON OUR OWN TO FIX, "WE TRIED." NOW, AFTER 3 YEARS DRIVING WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WE HAVE A NEW PROBLEM, THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE BROKE. WE WERE TOLD SORRY, ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WE HAVE TO PAY 1000.00 TO FIX. ANOTHER DEALER, SAID THEY WOULD CHARGE 800. II WAS TOLD THAT OUR CLUSTER WOULD BE SENT OUT AND REPLACED WITH A REFURBISHED ONE. SO WE DID NOT HAVE IT FIXED, WE DECIDED TO PURCHASE ONE ON OUR OWN (FROM A JUNK YARD OR REFURBISHED) AND NOW THE MILEAGE NEEDS TO BE RESET. BUT WERE TOLD THAT THEY COULD JUST RESET THE MILEAGE FOR 100 DOLLARS. TOOK THE CAR IN NOW BEING TOLD THAT WE CAN NOT DO THAT. SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IF THEY PUT IN A REFURBISHED ONE OR WE DID, IT STILL NEEDS TO BE RESET. IT SEEM TO ME, THEY STILL WANT THE MONEY TO FIX AND THAT'S AL THEY CARE ABOUT! WHEN IT SHOULD BE ONLY 100.00 TO FIX NOW. *TR
GEAR SHIFT ON 2005 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING MALFUNCTIONED. COULDN'T REMOVE FROM PARK POSITION AND AT TIMES HAD DIFFICULTY PUTTING CAR IN PARK. TRIED TO USE THE MANUAL TO RELEASE. INFORMATION IN MANUAL STATED BY DEPRESSING PINK BUTTON NEXT TO GEAR SHIFT WOULD RELEASE GEAR FROM PARK POSITION; BUT DID NOT WORK. MY HUSBAND IS A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN AND STATED THAT THE PINK BUTTON WAS NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING; BUT HE WAS ABLE TO RELEASE IT BY TAKING APART THE CONSOLE TO EXPOSE THE MAIN RELEASE SO THAT WE WOULD NOT INCURR A $150 TOWING COST. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO GANLEY/DODGE/CHRYSLER DEALER AND THE ENTIRE GEAR SHIFT HAD TO BE REPLACED; BUT THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY IT WENT BAD NOR WHY THIS PINK BUTTON WAS NOT CONNECTED NOR ABLE TO RELEASE. DEALER ALSO SAID THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THIS TYPE OF REPAIR AND THE COST WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILTY. COST OF REPAIR APPROXIMATELY $375 PLUS THE PART IS BACK ORDERED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE (3) DAYS. I WILL TAKE VACATION DAYS FROM WORK IN ORDER TO HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED AND WILL BE WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION. NEED TO KNOW IF THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFEAT SINCE THE INFOMATION IN THE MANUAL STATED PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW IN THE RELEASE BUT NOT EFFECTIVE AND WHETHER OR NOT I CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS AND IF I CAN SEND THE ORIGINAL PART BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER SO THAT A TECHNICIAN CAN HONESTLY ANALYZE IF THE PART WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY AND/OR WHY IT DID NOT PERFORM AS INDICATED IN THE MANUAL. WILL MISS TIME OFF FROM WORK AND NO LOANER WAS PROVIDED OR OFFERED. I UNDERSTAND THAT REPAIRS MUST BE MADE BUT SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT DONE BY THE OWNER SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACUTURER IF THIS TYPE OF REPAIR IS DUE TO THE PRODUCTION OF THE VEHICLE. TO SOME, THIS MAY BE INEXPENSIVE; BUT TO OTHERS WITH TODAY'S ECONOMIC SITUATION; THERE SHOULD BE NO NEED FOR A CONSUMER TO ENDURE AN ADDITIONAL EXPENSE "JUST BECAUSE" WITHOUT A JUSTIFIABLE EXPLANATION. YOUR RESPONSE TO THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
SECOND SHIFTER WAS INSTALLED 9-4-2008, MILEAGE WAS 37454. AT COST OF $508.00. THE CAR ALMOST IMMEDIATELY NEEDED THE BRAKE STEPPED ON NUMEROUS TIMES TO ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO RELEASE SO THE CAR COULD BE PLACED IN GEAR.9-19-2012 THE CAR WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO NAPLES DODGE, WHERE ANOTHER SHIFTER WAS INSTALLED AT A COST OF $560.00. THE SECOND UNIT WAS 4578029AC THE THIRD 68091343AA. A NEW CLIP HAS BEEN ADDED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WHICH HAS OCCURRED IN AVENGERS, SEBRINGS, ETC. RATHER THAN ASK FOR A RECALL. CHRYSLER IS HAVING CUSTOMERS PAY FOR THE REPAIRS, WHILE THEY NEEDED THREE DIFFERENT SHIFTER(CLIPS) TO REMEDY THEIR DEFECTIVE DESIGN. I HAVE WRITTEN THEM A LETTER STATING MY CONCERNS BUT THEY HAVE DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS PART OF A RECALL. WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY TOLD ME THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE BATCH. THEY STATED THAT THEY PICK A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF CARS TO BE PART OF THE RECALL BUT THAT THE OTHER ONES GET OMITTED. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER 17859460 AND WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER THEY HUNG UP ON ME. I DON'T FEEL THAT IT IS FAIR THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR THE PART AND LABOR BECAUSE CHRYSLER DECIDED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE BATCH. CHRYSLER WANTS ME TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PARTS SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE MONEY OFF OF ME BUT I FEEL THAT THEY NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SOMETHING THAT THEY ARE IN DEFAULT FOR. *TR
CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT. STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES/SHAKES AT HIGHER SPEEDS-WHEEL ALIGNMENT THAT DIDN'T CORRECT PROBLEM PASSENGER AIR BAG INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON AND OFF HEADLIGHTS COME ON AND OFF. LEFT COMPLETELY OFF NOW.-TOLD NEED NEW BALLAST BUT CANNOT AFFORD. *TR

THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE GEAR MALFUNCTION. 2005 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING - GEAR SIFT GETS STUCK IN PARK. HAVE HAD THE DEALER CHECK TO SEE IF THEY CAN DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM EVERYTIME IT GOES IN FOR SERVICE. HAVE HAD THIS FIXED ONCE OVER TWO YEARS AGO - DEALER STATED THAT THEY ADJUSTED THE LINKAGE. IT WORKED FINE FOR A WHILE HAVE SINCE MOVED TO ANOTHER CITY AND GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALER. NEW DEALER HAS BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM ONCE IN THEIR SHOP BUT AFTER THEY HAD THE INTERIOR APART HEY COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO DO IT AGAIN - SO IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. CAR HAS 61,000 MILES AND HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE 24,000. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. IT HAS 72,000 MILES ON IT. I HAD BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR UP TO 70,000 MILES. I HAVE QUITE A FEW PROBLEMS AND I KNOW I AM OVER THE "70,000" MILES, BUT ONLY BY 2,000 AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT HELP ME. THESE REPAIRS WILL COST $1800.00. I HAVE ALREADY PAID $400.00 AND THIS IS THE 7TH CHRYSLER WE HAVE BOUGHT SINCE 1985........WHERE IS THE OWNER LOYALTY? WHEN I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE, I CAN NEVER GET PASSED A SENIOR REP. YESTERDAY HE TOLD ME THERE WAS NO ONE. HIGHER......THEN GIVE ME THE CEO, HE'D LOVE TO HAVE THIS LITTLE COMPLAINT PASSED UP TO HIM! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL WAS NOT REACHING THE ENGINE FAST ENOUGH, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE. ALSO, THE THEFT AUTO LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS HALF FULL; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DEEMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD IN FACT RUN OUT OF FUEL. ONCE FUEL WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE STARTED IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THIS FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 54,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY STALL MOMENTS AFTER BEING REFUELED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED AFTER HAVING LESS THAN 1/2 A TANK OF GASOLINE, WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND ALSO WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE. LAST SUMMER I WAS DRIVING TOWARD MY GRANDSON'S BALLGAME. I SLOWED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. SUDDENLY, I LOST POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AND AIR CONDITIONING. HOWEVER, MY MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO CODE SHOWING ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS, PARTICULARLY FOR MY WIFE WHO WOULD PROBABLY PANIC OR NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FROM READING COMPLAINTS. AFTERWARDS, I HAD TO REPLACE AN O2 SENSOR FOR THE 3RD TIME AND THEN REPLACED THE EVAPORATOR ON THE AC. *TR
A SMELL OF BURNING WIRE IN THE PASSENGER CABIN. A YELLOW LIGHT CANE ON THE DASH . THE PASSENGER CABIN FILLED UP WITH SMOKE. THE CAR QUIT RUNNING ON THE ROAD. THE TRUNK HAD POPPED OPEN. THAT CABIN WAS FULL OF SMOKE. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER 300 C HAS WARP FRONT ROTORS. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THE NET AND AM FINDING OUT THAT THIS IS NOT A SINGLE CASE. THE AUTO PARTS STORE REP STATED TO ME THAT HE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE ORDER NEW ROTORS. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE DEALER WAS NEVER ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THERE WAS REALLY NO EVENTS TO THIS FAILURE, IT'S JUST SOMETHING THAT 2005 CHRYSLER 300'S ARE KNOWN FOR. ONE DAY, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON IN MY CAR AND I TRIED TAKING OFF THE FUSE TO SEE IF IT WAS GOOD, WHICH IT WAS, BUT NOTHING CHANGED. I READ ONLINE VARIOUS FORUMS AND APPARENTLY THE 2005 300'S ARE KNOWN FOR THAT TO GO OFF BECAUSE THE HARNESS IN THE STEERING MODULE IS TOO SHORT AND UNPLUGS OR GOES BAD. WE HAD TO REPLACE THAT MODULE WHICH COST $33.00 PLUS LABOR FROM A MECHANIC WHICH WAS ANOTHER $100. THE DEALERSHIP WANTED $250, AND THE PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. *TR
THE VEHICLE WILL FREQUENTLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT WILL COMPLETELY LOSE POWER. IT ALSO STALLS, THE GEAR SHIFT HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THE FACT THAT IT CUT OFF ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN TODAY AT 75MPH!! VERY DANGEROUS!! CAR STOP WHEN I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 1/4 OF TANK OF GAS AND WHEN I FILL IT UP, WHEN I PROCEED TO DRIVE OFF THE CAR STOPS IN DRIVE AND WILL NOT START BACK UP FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE AND SOMETIMES IT STOPS WILL DRIVING IN THE D GEAR EVERYTHING CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. *TR

THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. RECENTLY, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE WHEN ACTIVATED AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,715.
WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WAS FINE. HOWEVER I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK.. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME ABOUT THE PINK LITTLE THING INSIDE THE GEAR CONSOLE AND THAT DIDN'T' WORK EITHER. FINALLY HAD THE CAR TOWED AND HAD TO PAY FOR THE SHIFT REPLACEMENT ABOUT $400.00 WITH NO EXPLANATION ON WHY OR WHAT HAPPENED. *TR

AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY AIR BAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THEY REPLACED THE AIR BAG FOR $690.00. A WEEK OR SO LATER THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE AIRBAG SENSOR, TO THE TUNE OF $263.00. *TR
WHILE BACKING UP AND TURNING OUT OF DRIVE WAY, FEELS HESITATION AND NOISE COMING FROM REAR AXLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE PLASTIC HOOK IN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY FRACTURED AND AS A RESULT, THE SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS HIT IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AND THE AIRBAG(S) FAILED TO COME OUT. THE CONSEQUENCES EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND I SUSTAINED AN INJURY. SO FAR THE VEHICLE IS STILL BEING EVALUATED FOR REPAIRS, BUT NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED ON THE VEHICLE INVOLVED IN THE CRASH. *TR

THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE ON OCTOBER 26, 2018. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING FINE UNTIL THREE WEEKS AGO. THE DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE ANOTHER $125 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE CONTACT REFUSED AND WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE AFTER BEING SHOWN HOW TO SHIFT BY MANUALLY BYPASSING THE NORMAL SHIFTING OF GEARS. THE CONTACT WAS SHOWN THE MANUAL BYPASS METHOD BY A FRIEND WHO HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH A SIMILAR VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,700.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS GETTING THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO COMPLETELY UNLOCK AND OPEN EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. OCCASIONALLY THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD DO THE SAME. I HAVE EVEN HAD THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR BEHAVE THIS WAY. I AM WRITING NOW, BECAUSE THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ALMOST NEVER UNLOCKS AND OPENS ANYMORE. WITH BOTH BACK DOORS NOT UNLOCKING AND OPENING, IT CONCERNS ME GREATLY THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD SHOULD I NEED TO IMMEDIATELY GAIN ACCESS FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE REAR PASSENGERS NEED TO GET OUT FROM THE INSIDE. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE DOORS TO OPEN IS TO PULL UP EXTREMELY HARD ON THE DOOR LOCK POSTS. *TR
HEADLIGHTS WILL INTERMITTENTLY MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES ONE HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT, SOMETIMES BOTH WILL GO OUT. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR BOTH LIGHTS. MANY OTHER OWNERS WITH THE HID HEADLIGHT OPTION ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. RANDOMLY LOSING HEADLIGHTS IS DEFINITELY DANGEROUS! *TR
