DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ALSO, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED DUE TO CARBON BUILD UP. THE ENGINE VIBRATED UNTIL IT WOULD STALL, AND ALWAYS STALLED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. THE SERVICE DEALER DETERMINED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW IGNITION COIL AND CYLINDER HEADS.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND HESITATES WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THESE ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION. UPDATED 8/14/2006 - *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT CALLED REGARDING THE CONTINENTAL CONTITOURING TIRES. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE EXPLODED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY, AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT HAS THE TIRE AND PICTURES AVAILABLE. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS FAILURE OCCURRED. THE TIRES WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO BALANCE. THE TIRE MILEAGE WAS 16,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. *AK UPDATE 05/10/07*TR

A/C HAS NEVER RAN COLD SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, WE WENT TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE YEARS TO SEE IF IT WAS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE, BUT EACH TIME THE DEALER CLAIMED NO RECALL ON THE 2005 CHRYSLER 300C A/C SYSTEM, WE EVEN CHECKED THE WEB FOR RECALLS BUT WE FOUND NOTHING. I FOUND THE PROBLEM MYSELF IN JULY 2005, IT SEEMS THAT THIS VEHICLE CAME WITH BAD SCHRADER VALVES HIGH AND LOW, OVER THE YEARS I JUST ADDED FREON, BUT NOW THE LEAK IS SO BAD IT WON'T HOLD A CHARGE MORE THAN 5 DAYS, WENT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO CLAIMED THE A/C SYSTEM WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A FULL EVAC OF THE SYSTEM, REPLACEMENT OF THE BAD SCHRADER VALVES PLUS LABOR AND TAXES. WE CHOOSE NOT TO HAVE THE WORK DONE BECAUSE OF THE EXPENSE INVOLVED. OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH LOWER TIE ROD ENDS, THE TIE ROD ENDS THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE LOOK REALLY CHEAP AS WELL AS THE AFTER MARKET PARTS. WE HAD THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM WORKED ON TWICE, EACH TIME JUST BEFORE THE STABILITY LIGHT COME ON WE NOTICE THE DASH LIGHTS FLICKER CONSTANTLY, THE DASH LIGHTS HAS ALWAYS FLICKERED ON THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT CLAIMS REPLACING THE STABILITY PART IN THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, AS OF TODAY JUNE 20, 2012 THE DASH LIGHTS ARE FLICKERING AGAIN WHICH MEANS ANOTHER TRIP TO THE DEALER.
I CURRENTLY OWN AN 2005 CHRYSLER 300, WHICH IN TURN I AM NOW HAVING TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE ENGINE. MY CAR RECEIVES REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND IT GAVE ME NO SIGN OF FAILURE. I CONTACTED THE MANUF. FOR ASSISTANCE AND IT WAS A DEAD END, AS WELL AS THE OTHER CONSUMERS COMPLAINT ATTEMPTS. IN MY INVESTIGATION AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS THE OIL PUMP FOR A 2.7 IS TO SMALL FOR THE ENGINE, THEREFORE AS THE MILEAGE COMES TO OR EXCEEDS 60,000ML. THE ENGINE WILL CRASH. AS IN MY CASE I AM NOT THE FIRST OWNER THEREFORE I WAS TOLD BY THE MANUFACT. THAT THEY WOULDN'T GRANT ME ANY ASSISTANCE. IRONICALLY, CONSUMER ENGINES GIVE OUT AT THE TIME OF THERE EXCEEDED WARRANTY. *NM
A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C 4 DOOR, WAS TRAVELING NORTH BOUND ON A STATE HIGHWAY. THE HIGHWAY IS A 2-LANE ASPHALT ROADWAY, WITH A NORTHBOUND RIGHT CURVE AT THE COLLISION SITE. THERE IS A NEGATIVE SUPER-ELEVATION FROM WEST TO EAST. THE ROADWAY IS POSTED 55 MPH. DEFINITIVE MATHEMATICAL CALCULATIONS HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED. HOWEVER, IT IS BELIEVED THE CHRYSLER WAS TRAVELING NEAR THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT. THE CHRYSLER WAS OCCUPIED BY FOUR ADULTS, OVER 50 YEARS OF AGE. THE DRIVER, A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER, AND TWO REAR SEAT PASSENGERS. A 1997 FORD TAURUS WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON THE SAME STATE HIGHWAY, APPROACHING THE CHRYSLER 300C. THE FORD WAS OCCUPIED BY TWO MALES, AGE 16 AND 19. A DRIVER, AND A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. THE FORD WAS TRAVELING IN THE CURVE, WHICH IS A LEFT HAND CURVE SOUTH BOUND. THE FORD, BELIEVED TO BE IN EXCESS OF THE POSTED 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT, WENT INTO A COUNTER-CLOCKWISE YAW, CROSSED THE CENTERLINE, AND LATERALLY IMPACTED THE FRONT OF THE CHRYSLER 300C. THE OCCUPANTS OF THE FORD DIED IN THE CRASH. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT CRUSH TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FORD. THE B-PILLARS ARE APPROXIMATELY 21.5 INCHES APART, AS MEASURED INSIDE TO INSIDE. THE CHRYSLER 300C PASSENGER SIDE REAR OCCUPANT ALSO DIED IN THE CRASH. THERE IS EVIDENCE OF SEAT BELT USE BY THIS OCCUPANT. THE LATCH PLATE AND BUCKLE AT THE PASSENGER REAR SEATING POSITION OF THE CHRYSLER FAILED. THE BUCKLE IS PARTIALLY DISASSEMBLED, AND THE LATCH PLATE BROKE WHERE THE WEBBING FEEDS THROUGH THE LATCH PLATE. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THE PRE-TENSIONERS FIRED, OR LOCKED THE SEAT BELTS AT ANY POSITION. THERE IS DEFORMATION TO THE STEERING WHEEL AT THE SIX O'CLOCK POSITION. ALL SEAT BELTS MOVE FREELY WITHIN THE RETRACTORS. MY INVESTIGATION IS STILL ONGOING. I DO NOT WANT TO BE PREMATURE IN MAKING THIS COMPLAINT. THIS IS FOR A 2005 GEM (GLOBAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE) E4 - FAILURE OF WELD ON BRACKET OF THE LOWER, PASSENGER-SIDE, REAR CONTROL ARM. BRACKET WAS ONLY WELDED ON ONE SIDE TO THE REAR AXEL AND FAILED. THE OTHER SIDE BRACKET WAS WELDED CORRECTLY ON TWO SIDES AND CONFIRMED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. SUCH A CONDITION AT "SPEED" COULD HAVE PROVEN TO BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *JB

THE CAR I AM WRITING ABOUT IS A CHRYSLER 300C. THAT CAR IS NOT AN OPTION IN THE SELECTION. MY 300C IS EQUIPPED WITH FRONT AND SIDE AIR BAGS. WHEN THE CAR WAS HIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BY A GMC JIMMY THE FRONT BAGS DEPLOYED BUT THE SIDE ONES DID NOT. SHOULDN'T THE SIDE BAGS HAVE OPENED AS WELL? THAT IS MY CONCERN. *JB

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED ALL FOUR TIRES HAVE WORN PREMATURELY, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE SERVICED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, HOWEVER NO CAUSE WAS FOUND FOR THE PROBLEM. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE TIRE LINE IS 225/60R18. UPDATED 6/16/2006 - THE TIRE WERE ROTATED EVERY 6000 MILES. ALL FOUR RIMS WERE PITTING AND COMING APART. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURS UNDER ALL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR FRONT END ALIGNMENTS BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ON 07/19/06 AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. UPDATED 8/14/ 2006 - *NM
KNOWN PROBLEM OF HEAVY CORROSION AROUND OUTER RIM (LOCATION OF TIRE BEAD) OF CHROME CLAD ALUMINUM WHEELS ON CHRYSLER 300C VEHICLES. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM BUT CHRYSLER WOULD NOT COVER REPLACEMENT UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN CONTACTED AGAIN IN 2008, CHRYSLER SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER BECAUSE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THEY WERE ADVISED I HAD THE EXTENDED BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. THEY ADVISED THAT WAS NOT BUMPER TO BUMPER AND ONLY THE BASIC WARRANTY WOULD COVER REPLACEMENT. WHEN I ADVISED THAT THE INITIAL COMPLAINT WAS FILED WELL WITHIN THE BASIC WARRANTY PERIOD (19 MONTS, 18K MILES), THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE WHEELS UNDER WARRANTY. AS THE CORROSION PROGRESSES, MY CONCERN IS RIM FAILURE. *TR
I DRIVE A CHRYSLER 300C, WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR I FELT THE CAR VEERING TO THE RIGHT. WELL I HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND I ALSO NEEDED TO HAVE MY WHEEL ROTATED. WELL I DID THAT AND STILL I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. SO I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED ANOTHER WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND MY WHEELS NEEDED TO BE ROTATED I DID ALL OF THAT AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY HORN NOT BLOWING WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING. I FIND ALL OF THE ABOVE COMPLAINTS TO HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS TO MYSELF, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I AM TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM. I HAVE TRIED CALLING THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS AND HAVE YET A RECEIVE A RESPONSE. *JB
POWER SUN ROOF/MOON ROOF SEEMS TO BE SINKING INTO THE ROOF, WIND SOUND AT FREEWAY SPEED HAS DEVELOPED. *JB
GETTING READY TO GO TO A BASKETBALL GAME AND AT THE STOP SIGN YARDS FROM OUR HOME THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WENT BLACK THEN THE LIGHTS FLICKERED AND WENT BLACK AGAIN. THE CAR THEN STARTING SMOKING FROM BEHIND THE CAR DASH. WE MANAGED TO PUSH THE CAR BACK INTO THE CARPORT BUT WE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY A 2005 MODEL WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT. SO WE GOT ON THE INTERNET STARTED SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS AND CAME UPON A RECALL THAT INVOLVED ELECTRICAL WIRING PROBLEM THAT IF NOT FIXED IT COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DASH AND CAUSE A FIRE. AT THE TIME I HAD A SEVEN YEAR OLD IN THE CAR AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE IF WE HEADED OUT ANY FURTHER AND THEN THE CAR BROKE DOWN. *JB
CONTINENTAL OEM TIRES CUPPED AND AT WEAR INDICATOR AT 16,000 MILES. TIRES REGULARLY ROTATED. CONTINENTAL DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY NOR DID THEY OFFER ANY FORM OF ADJUSTMENT.*AK
2005 CHRYSLER 300 C HAS A DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF STALLING SINCE TAKING OWNERSHIP OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, CLEAN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBERS, AND REPLACE THE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR; PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. AFTER THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE OF STALLING I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. I TOOK A VIDEO OF THE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AS THE DEALERSHIP HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE SHOWN THE DEALERSHIP THE VIDEO OF THE STALL / NON-START ISSUE. VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 29,000 MILES. *JB
GOODYEAR INTEGRITY TIRES ON NEW CAR WORN TO BELT AT 19,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN 2 SEPARATE INCIDENTS WHERE MY CAR SPUN IN A CIRCLE TURNING IN AN INTERSECTION AT 10 MILES AN HOUR. *NM
TIRES ON CHRYSLER 300C NEED TO BE REPLACED AT 15,000 MILES. TIRE IS CONTINENTAL CONTITOURING CONTACT CH95. MAY BE SAFETY ISSUE AS CONSUMERS ARE NOT EXPECTING TO REPLACE TIRES SO EARLY. CONTINENTAL SAYS TIRES NOT COVERED UNTIL CONSUMER REPLACES THEM, AND CHRYSLER DID NOT DISCLOSE THESE ARE VERY HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 15,000-20,000 AND SAY THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING EITHER. THIS MAY ALSO BE A PROBLEM ON THE DODGE CHARGER AND MAGNUM ALSO. VERY PLEASED WITH THE CAR, BUT NOT WITH TIRE WEAR AND POSSIBILITY OF ACCIDENT RESULTING FROM PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT ALIGNMENT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ,WHERE A FRONT ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER OFFERED TO CHANGE SOME NON SPECIFIC BOLTS AND THE SHIM IN AN EFFORT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION, BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THIS WOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN ALIGNMENT SPECIALIST SHOP, WHERE IT WAS ALIGNED TO MEET FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. HOWEVER, A TEST DRIVE BY THE REPAIR SHOP PERSONNEL CONFIRMED THE CONTACT'S INITIAL COMPLAINT OF A RIGHT LEAD. AFTER THE TEST DRIVE THE REPAIR SHOP PERSONNEL ALERTED THE CONTACT OF A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NHTSA 10013692 REGARDING A REVISION OF THE ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE RIGHT LEAD PROBLEM. *AK
MY 2005 300 HAS HAD MULTI-PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN 2005. 1ST THE WATER OUT HOUSING HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH IT, THE GEAR SHIFTER ASSEMBLY HAS GONE OUT ON IT AT ONLY 25K, THAT WAS NOT ALLOWING ME TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO ANY GEAR. THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH JUST WENT OUT TODAY, I'M SO SICK OF THIS CAR AND MOST OF ALL SICK OF CHRYSLER NOT ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THIS. SOME OF THESE ISSUES POSE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND WILL CAUSE A TRAGIC ACCIDENT IF NOT ADDRESSED PROMPTLY AND REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER. *TR
THE CAR STALLS OUT AT SLOW SPEEDS AND THIS IS OCCURRING SHORTLY AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK OR WHEN THE TANK IS ALMOST EMPTY. IF YOU DO A GOOGLE SEARCH ON "300C STALLING" YOU WILL LITERALLY SEE 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. THE FIX SEEMS TO BE "REPLACE THE GAS TANK" ACCORDING TO THE DEALER/CHRYSLER. IF THIS IS THE CASE AND IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE, WHY ISN'T CHRYSLER REPLACING EVERYONE'S TANKS. I'VE BEEN IN SEVERAL SITUATIONS THAT WERE NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS ENTERING/EXITING A PARKING LOT INTO BUSY TRAFFIC OR MERGING ONTO A FREEWAY WHERE THE CAR STALLED AND I LOST ALL POWER TO THE STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I OWNED THE CAR (WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW) BUT AT THE TIME I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS JUST BASIC VAPOR LOCK. AS IT TURNS OUT, THAT'S NOT THE CASE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS YOU CAN IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF YOU TRY TO ENTER TRAFFIC FROM A PARKING LOT OR TRY TO MERGE ONTO A FREEWAY FROM AN ONRAMP AND THE CAR STALLS OUT. CHRYSLER ISN'T STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, IT SEEMS ONLY THE ORIGINAL OR EARLY MODELS OF THE VEHICLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND LIKELY ALL OF THEM ARE OUT OF WARRANTY SO THERE'S NO RECOURSE TO THE CONSUMER EXCEPT TO SPEND THE MONEY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN THE CAR GOES FROM AN IDLE (OR SLOW MOVING SPEED - 15/25 MPH) TO WHEN YOU ACCELERATE (SPEED AT WHICH YOU ACCELERATE TO IS NOT A FACTOR). PLEASE ADVISE/HELP. *TR

PURCHASED USED 300 TOURING CHRYSLER ON APRIL 2005 WITH ABOUT 25000 MILES ALREADY WE NOTICE EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED OUR VEHICLE IT HAS MADE A LOUD BANG NOISE EVERYTIME WE GO ON REVERSE AND IT SEEMS IT LAGS BEFORE GETTING IN GEAR AND LATELY IT WAS STARTING TO MAKE THAT BANG NOISE GOING FORWARD MOSTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FAST, WE WERE THINKING OF TAKING IT IN BUT HAVE BEEN PUTTING IT OFF DUE TO OUR WORK SCHEDULES, WELL THIS 23RD OF DECEMBER 2005 WHILE GOING TO A FRIENDS B-DAY PARTY THE WHOLE BACK AXLE BROKE OFF WE WERE IN A RED LIGHT AS IT TURN GREEN I ACCELERATED AND WE FELT THE CAR DROP COMPLETELY ON THE REAR AT FIRST I THOUGHT I BLEW OUT THE TIRES OR SOMETHING BUT AS WE PULLED TO THE SIDE WE NOTICE THE TIRES WERE WAY INSIDE THE FENDERS. WHEN I MET THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER THE NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING WE BOTH NOTICE THE AXLES COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF FROM THE CHASSIS AT THAT POINT I THANKED GOD THAT IT DID NOT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I HAD MY CHILDREN WITH ME, ON THE WAY TO THE BABYSITTER. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN THE DEPRESSED POSITION WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WAS SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE CHASSIS OF BOTH VEHICLES. HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE DID NOT DEPLOY. IT WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. ALSO, THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE MOVING STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SERVICE DEALER WHERE THE TIRES WERE ROTATED. SHORTLY AFTER THE TIRE ROTATION, THE TREAD BECAME COMPLETELY WORN. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THE SUSPENSION WAS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.
I BOUGHT A NEW CHRYSLER 300C IN THE SPRING OF 2005. AFTER 13,000 MILES, I AM TOLD THE TIRES ARE BAD AND I AM BEING TOLD I HAVE TO BUY FOUR MORE TIRES. I AM NOT AWARE THAT THEY ARE HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES AND AM BEING TOLD THAT CONTINENTAL WILL NOT COVER THE NEW TIRES. *JB
I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C HEMI. THREE MONTHS AGO, I PUT UNLEADED 87 OCTANE GASOLINE IN THE TANK. I DROVE A FEW BLOCKS AND THE ENGINE STOPPED SUDDENLY IN MID-DRIVE. I HAD A DIFFICULT TIME RESTARTING THE CAR AND WHEN I DID, IT TOOK A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULD ENGAGE IN GEAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK, AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE ENGINE COMPUTERS HAVE TO REAJUST TO THE LOWER OCTANE. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE ONLY PUT MID-OCTANE (89 OCTANE). WHENEVER I ALLOW THE TANK TO BE LOWER THAN A QUARTER OF A TANK AND I REFILL WITH 89 IT STILL STALLS IN MID-DRIVE AND HARD TO START WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT ENGAGING IMMEDIATELY. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CAR WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WHICH COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. *JB
CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN PARK. WHEN THE DRIVER TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THE CAR DID NOT MOVE AND HE WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE CAR. AFTER THE DRIVER EXITED THE CAR AND HAD TAKEN A FEW STEPS, THE CAR STARTED TO REVERSE. THE DRIVER WENT BACK TO THE CAR AND HIS HAND GOT CAUGHT IN BETWEEN THE CAR DOOR AND A HOUSE. ANOTHER PERSON GOT INTO THE CAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE TO PULL FORWARD AND RELEASE THE DRIVER'S HAND. ON NOV 9, 2005 I DROVE INTO MY DRIVE WAY AND STARTED TURNING TO PULL INTO THE GARAGE. MY 2005C WITH HEMI SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD HITTING MY DAUGHTER'S 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. HER CAR HAD DAMAGE ON THE REAR BUMPER AND IT WAS KNOCKED ABOUT 15 OR 20 FEET. THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS TORN UP. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY BUT, THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT. 2005 300 LIMITED HAS A THROTTLE AND ENGINE PROBLEMS. *TS WHEN THE CONSUMER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE HE TOLD THE SALESPERSON ABOUT THE VEHICLE ROUGH IDLE. THE SALESPERSON SAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 1000 MILES TO WORK THE BUGS OUT OF THE ENGINE. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK HE WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK AND THE PROBLEM WOULD BE FIXED UNDER THE VEHICLES WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AT 1700 MILES. THE DEALER FLASHED THE COMPUTER BUT THE ROUGH IDLE WAS STILL PRESENT. THE FLASH CREATED A HIGH IDLE, LUNGING AND POPPING SOUND WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE VEHICLE ALSO SHOOK WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN OVER 30 MPH THE THROTTLE WOULD NOT EASE DOWN WHEN THE CONSUMER FOOT WAS REMOVED FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN 2101105 REVA FOR THE TRANSMISSION. . THE BULLETIN WAS SENT OUT ON APRIL 23, 2005. THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE DESIGN OF THE TRANSMISSION. *AK
