THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

I PURCHASED A 2005 CHRYSLER 300 IN 2012. THE CAR CAME WITH 4 COOPER TIRES, CS4-265R17. IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 I NOTICED A WOBBLE WHEN DRIVING THE CAR. SO I TOOK THE CAR TO BE SERVICED (BALANCE/ROTATION/ALIGNMENT). AFTER ALL THIS WORK THE CAR STILL WOBBLED. SO MECHANIC TOOK OFF EACH TIRE TO INVESTIGATE. WHICH HE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE BANDS IN THE TIRE HAVE SEPARATED. I PURCHASED A NEW TIRE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO RISK THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD. *TR
ALL 4 TIRES ARE DISINTEGRATING FROM THE INSIDE OUT ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC. THEY LOOK GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT HE SAID THEY ARE UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND TO TAKE BACK TO COSTCO FOR EXCHANGE. THEY ARE ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD WITH LESS THEN 30000 MILES OUT OF 90000 WARRANTY. BRAND IS MICHELIN HYDROEDGE, WHICH IS NOT LISTED IN DESCRIPTIONS. DON'T HAVE DOT # AS CAR IS AT THE MECHANIC. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO MOISTURE RETENTION UNDER A DECORATIVE COVER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,400.
GOT READY TO TAKE KIDS TO THE DOCTOR AND THE TIRE WAS FLAT. MANAGED TO GET THE TIRE AIRED UP WITH COMPRESSOR AT HOUSE AND TOOK TO A MECHANIC TO CHECK TO SEE IF THE TIRE WAS PUNCTURED. TURNS OUT NO PUNCTURE. DECIDED TO REPLACE TIRE IN CASE OF "DRYROT", WHEN TIRE WAS TAKEN OFF, THE RIM WAS CRACKED. HAD TO BUY ANOTHER RIM. 2 MONTHS LATER, ANOTHER RIM DID THE SAME THING. NOW WE'VE HAD A THIRD RIM CRACK. THESE ARE THE STANDARD FACTORY RIMS THAT THE VEHICLE ROLLED OF THE PRODUCTION FLOOR WITH. *TR
DURING A ROUTINE TIRE ROTATION I WAS ADVISED THAT THE SEAL BETWEEN THE TIRE AND WHEEL WAS FAILING ON ALL 4 WHEELS AS A RESULT OF CORROSION OCCURRING ON THE MAG TYPE WHEEL. THE FAILURE WAS TEMPORARILY REPAIRED BY SANDING THE WHEEL AND RESEALING. COMMENT WAS MADE THAT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED. IT IS LIKELY THIS WILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR AS DUE TO BRINE SOLUTION AND ROAD SALT USED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. THE PERSON DOING THE ROTATION STATED THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS VEHICLE WITH THIS TYPE OF WHEEL. *TR

THE DEALER WOULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $785. THE CONTACT STILL HAS POSSESSION OF THE TIRES AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THESE TIRES ARE RATED FOR 60000 MILES SO I ONLY OBTAINED 1/3 RD OG THEIR LIFE RATING. CONTENINTAL OFFERED ME A 35% DISCOUNT OFF OF THE PURCHASE OF NEW SET OF THEIR TIRES. UNACCEPTABLE TO ME.
MY WIFE'S 2005 CHRYSLER 300 AWD PULLS TO THE RIGHT. DEALER SERVICE CENTER TOLD ME ALL TIRES HAVE ABNORMAL WEAR THAT WAS CALLED CUPPING, AND THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BE ROTATED THEY ARE IN THE BEST POSITION. ALSO, AN ALIGNMENT CANNOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE OF THE WEAR, BUT ALL TIRES SHOULD BE REPLACED AND QUOTED A GOODYEAR TIRE PRICE OF $650. THE TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL CH95 WITH SEALER. I LEASED A 2005 300 C IN DECEMBER 2005. CURRENTLY, AS OF JANUARY 2007, I HAVE 14000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT IS PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND IT SHAKES AT 65 MPH. THEY SAY I NEED FOUR NEW TIRES AND THE TIRES ARE WORN DOWN COMPLETELY. THESE ARE CONTINENTAL SELF SEALING TIRES. CAR HAS ONLY 24,000 MILES WITH VERY LIMITED DRIVING DUE TO AN EXTENDED ILLNESS. TIRES WERE ROTATED EVERY 6,000 MILES. TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL. THE DEALER HAS SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, HOWEVER MY FRONT END STEERING ARM WAS SAID TO BE DEFECTIVE AND IS BEING REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. WHATS THE PROBLEM, THE CAR OR THE TIRES?

THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE EXPLODED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY, AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT HAS THE TIRE AND PICTURES AVAILABLE. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS FAILURE OCCURRED. THE TIRES WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO BALANCE. KNOWN PROBLEM OF HEAVY CORROSION AROUND OUTER RIM (LOCATION OF TIRE BEAD) OF CHROME CLAD ALUMINUM WHEELS ON CHRYSLER 300C VEHICLES. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM BUT CHRYSLER WOULD NOT COVER REPLACEMENT UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN CONTACTED AGAIN IN 2008, CHRYSLER SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER BECAUSE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THEY WERE ADVISED I HAD THE EXTENDED BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. THEY ADVISED THAT WAS NOT BUMPER TO BUMPER AND ONLY THE BASIC WARRANTY WOULD COVER REPLACEMENT. WHEN I ADVISED THAT THE INITIAL COMPLAINT WAS FILED WELL WITHIN THE BASIC WARRANTY PERIOD (19 MONTS, 18K MILES), THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE WHEELS UNDER WARRANTY. AS THE CORROSION PROGRESSES, MY CONCERN IS RIM FAILURE. *TR
