CAR STALLS AFTER FILLING FUEL TANK. THE STALLING ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW. ONLINE FORUMS DESCRIBE A KNOWN FUEL TANK GAS FUME EVAC SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. ONLY KNOWN FIX IS REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE GAS TANK. IF TANK IS FILLED ONLY 3/4'S FULL, THE STALLING DOES NOT OCCUR. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL THE DEFECTIVE GAS FUME EVAC SYSTEM AND REPLACE THE FUEL TANKS. CARS STALLING IN TRAFFIC IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. PLEASE HELP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO ENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE STOPPED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE FUEL TANK HAD LESS THEN A QUARTER OF A TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IN THE FUEL TANK, THE O RING AND THE FASTENER PACKAGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
UPON FILLING UP THE CAR WITH GAS, THE CAR STALLED LESS THAN 500FT FROM THE GAS STATION. THE CAR RESTARTED AND I DROVE 1/16TH OF A MILE AND AS I WAS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 39300 MILES ON IT.
TAKATA RECALL LAST SEPTEMBER I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIR BAGS ON MY CHRYSLER 300. THE NOTICE SAID THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED AS SOON AS PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO TAKE MY CAR TO A CHRYSLER DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER NOTICE. WHEN CAN I EXPECT THIS DEFECT TO BE REPAIRED?
MY CAR RECENTLY HAD AN OIL CHANGE . WE HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE WITH THEM . MY OIL IS ALWAYS CHECKED ON WITH THE COOLANT AS WELL . WELL NOW MY CAR HAS THIS HORRIBLE TICKING COMING FROM THE VALVE TRAIN. MY CAR STILL RUNS BUT DRIVE VERY ROUGH .

THE CONTACT, WHO WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION K39 RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

I HAVE READ MULTIPLE POSTS THAT FIT EXACTLY THE SAME DESCRIPTION TO WHAT HAPPENED RECENTLY WITH OUR 2006 CHRYSLER 300C 5.7L HEMI AWD - SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE OUR EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF OUR 300, REGULAR SERVICES ETC AND HAVE KEPT EVERY SINGLE DOCUMENTATION SINCE PURCHASED. RECENTLY, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AT 70-75 MPH ON I-95 - ENGINE COMPLETELY CONKED OUT AND STARTED STEAMING. TOWED IT TO THE MECHANIC. ORIGINALLY THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS JUST A CRACK/LEAK IN THE RADIATOR, WHICH WOULD COST $750. THEY WENT AHEAD AND FIXED THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, 2 HOURS LATER WE GET A CALL SAYING THERE WAS A SEVERE CRACK IN THE ENGINE THAT HAS CAUSED A MAJOR LEAK INTERNALLY. NOW AT THE MERCY OF THE MECHANIC, AS WE OWE THEM $750 FOR THEIR MISDIAGNOSIS. NEW DIAGNOSIS - NEED A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT THAT WOULD COST APPROX $8000-$8500. ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS WHEN YOU TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION KBB VALUE IS BETWEEN $9,000-$10,000. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH IT SEEMS A NEW 300 ENGINE WOULD BE BETWEEN $4,000-$5,500 AND LABOR IS APPROX $1,800-$2,500. SO I GUESS IT ISN'T A BAD DEAL FOR MECHANICS WHO CAN POSSIBLY FIX IT THEMSELVES. HOWEVER, AS USUAL THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS ALWAYS SEEM TO GET SCREWED BY CHRYSLER. WORST PART ABOUT IT IS 4 MONTHS AGO WE PURCHASED A NEW 300. MAYBE THIS WAS ONE OF THE REASONS THEY REVAMPED THE ENTIRE ENGINE OF THE NEWER CHRYSLER 300 MODEL RANGE???

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A TUNE UP AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE13016 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGES 506,000.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAITED SEVERAL MONTHS AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

CAR BEGAN MISFIRING AT 35100 MILES. AFTER EXTENSIVE REPAIRS NOW THE IDLE FLUTTERS AND ENGINE HAS SHUT OFF IN TRAFFIC

2006 CHRYSLER 300. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REPLACEMENT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR HOUSING RECALL. *SMD
I WENT TO USE MY CAR AND I COULD NOT GET IT OUT OF PARK. THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. I CHECK ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THE PINK PLASTIC PART INSIDE THE SHIFT BASE HAS A SMALL PLASTIC HOOK THE BRAKES OFF AND THE SPRING COME OFF IN SIDE AND YOU CAN NOT GET YOUR OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO GO TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER SHIP AND ASK THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THE GUY SAID THAT CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT WAS NOT DOING A RECALL ON THE PROBLEM. SO I HAD TO BUY THE PART AND FIX IT MY SELF. MY CAR WAS DOWN FOR 2 DAYS. I COULD NOT HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK TO GET IT ON THE TOW TRUCK.
WHEN REFUELING OUR VEHICLE, USING THE CORRECT GRADE OF GAS, NOT TOPPING OFF THE TANK AND ALLOWING THE FUEL PUMP NOZZLE TO SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN FILLED, WE ARE EXPERIENCING LIFE THREATENING EPISODES OF STALLING OUT WHEN ENTERING TRAFFIC FROM A GAS STATION, OR IDLING IN TRAFFIC, TURNING CORNERS, AND ENTERING RAMPS TO THE HIGHWAY IT WILL STALL AND CHOKE WHEN WE TRY TO START IT BACK UP. WE WAIT APPROXIMATELY 3-5 MINUTES BEFORE ATTEMPTING A RESTART WITHOUT ENGAGING THE GAS PEDAL. BUT STILL NOTHING HAPPENS. WHEN IT SHUTS OFF WE FORCIBLY HAVE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE YOU LOSE POWER TO YOUR BRAKES, STEERING, ETC. AND JUST PRAY THAT NOBODY GETS INJURED. DURING THE STALL OUT THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS SHOWN ON THE DASHBOARD. ONCE WE FINALLY GET IT TO HOLD A START, WE MUST AT HIGH IDLE DRIVE FAST AS POSSIBLE, GETTING OFF THE MAIN ROAD/HIGHWAY/CITY STREET TO IMMEDIATELY GARAGE THE CAR. THEN WE HAVE TO HAVE IT RUN WITH THE GARAGE DOOR OPEN FOR AT LEAST 2.0 HOURS. AND THEN WE CAUTIOUSLY DRIVE IT WITH ME FOLLOWING MY HUSBAND TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T STALL OUT AGAIN. ONCE WE GET PASS THIS STALLING-OUT PERIOD THE CAR BEHAVES PROPERLY, AND WE HAVE NO FURTHER ISSUES UNTIL WE REFUEL AGAIN ON A WEEKLY BASIS. WE ONLY HAVE THIS REFUELING ISSUE WHEN FILLING THE CAR. IT INDEED IS A PROBLEM THAT THE CHRYSLER GROUP LLC DISCUSSED IN THE LETTER WE RECEIVED MAY 8, 2014, IN THE 2ND PARAGRAPH "THE AFFECTED VEHICLE POPULATION MAY EXPERIENCE A CONDITION WHERE THE FUEL SHUT-OFF FLOAT, IN THE MULTIFUNCTION CONTROL VALVE STICKS, WHICH MAY RESULT IN THE VEHICLE STALLING AFTER REFUELING. THIS STATEMENT FOR US IS DEFINITELY OUR PROBLEM. AND WE ARE PLANNING TO ADDRESS IT WITH THE DEALERSHIP ASAP. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY WEEK. THE LAST TIME WAS OCTOBER 30TH 2015. WE HAVE NOW ONLY FILLED IT TO THE 3/4 MARK AND IT HAS STOPPED STALLING OUT TEMPORARILY.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY AND I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. I REALIZE THERE IS A RECALL ALREADY IN PLACE TO FIX, BUT I AM BEING INFORMED BY MY DEALERSHIP AND BY MY CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE REP REP THAT MY AIRBAG CAN NOT BE REPAIRED UNTIL DECEMBER 2016 THAT IS OVER A YEAR FROM NOW AND 19 MONTHS FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL OF MAY 29, 2015 AIRBAG RECALL NUMBER 15V-313 THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A BIG RECALL, BUT MY ISSUE IS THAT DEALERSHIPS ARE ONLY FIXING ONE CAR A WEEK PER (CHRYSLER) REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY PARTS ARE SENT TO DEALERS. IF THIS TRULY A "SAFETY RECALL" HOW IS THAT ALLOWED TO HAPPEN? I HAVE ALL DATES AND TIMES OF WHO I HAVE SPOKEN TO AT CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP.

THREE OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
I WAS PICKING MY SON UP FROM SCHOOL, WHEN I TRY TO START THE CAR. THE CAR WOULDN'T KICK OVER, THE ENGINE WAS SHAKING AND RUNNING EXTREMELY ROUGH ONCE I DID GET IT STARTED, TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, A VALVE WENT THROUGH THE ENGINE BLOCK CAUSING TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. A NEW ENGINE BLOCK WAS NEEDED (JASPERS) AT THE COST OF OVER $6000. I CONTACTED CHRYSLERS COOPERATE OFFICE, AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE'S NO RECALL ON THE ENGINE, AND BEING THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, I WAS JUST STUCK WITH A USELESS CAR WITH A BLOWN ENGINE. I THINK THAT THIS IS SO PITIFUL FOR A MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY TO STICK ALL OF THESE CHRYSLER/DODGE OWNERS WITH VEHICLES WITH KNOWN ENGINE PROBLEMS!. JUST LOOK ON THIS SITE, OR JUST GOOGLE CHRYSLER 300/C & DODGE ENGINE PROBLEMS, YOU'LL FIND 100'S, IF NOT 1000'S OF CHRYSLER/DODGE OWNERS WITH THE SAME TYPE OF ENGINE FAILURE. SHAME ON CHRYSLER!. I KNOW THAT PUTTING A RECALL ON ALL OF THESE ENGINES WOULD BE A VERY COSTLY THING TO DO, HOWEVER IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO!....SHAME ON CHRYSLER!. TOOK VEHICLE TO BARBER SHOP ANTI SKID LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT A WET OR SLICK RD CONDITION..TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT .PULLED INTO GARAGE PARKING CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND SHUT OFF. WOULD NOT CRANK..THE MECHANIC OPENED THE VEHICLE UP TIMING CHAIN WAS INTACT ,FOUND THE CAMSHAFT BROKE.

APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES LATER, A PEDESTRIAN ALERTED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS SMOKE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. SOON AFTER, THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.

CALLED CHRYSLER (1-800-CHRYSLER) ABOUT VEHICLE STALLING AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK AFTER VEHICLE REPEATEDLY STALLED AFTER FILLING UP. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C AWD W/ 5.7L HEMI V8. GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWED NHTSA ACTION #PE13016 EXTENDING GAS TANK WARRANTY OF ALL 2006 HEMI-ENGINED 300'S. CHRYSLER REP ON THE PHONE TOLD ME NO SUCH WARRANTY EXISTED AFTER CHECKING WITH SUPERVISOR. HAD TO CALL LOCAL DEALERSHIP (GURNEE DODGE) WHO WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT YES SAID WARRANTY DOES EXIST AND THEY WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING THAT CHRYSLER LIED TO ME. CAR FIRST STALLED ON TRAIN TRACKS NEAR MY HOUSE, AND THE GATES ON THE CROSSING STARTED TO CLOSE JUST AS I GOT THE CAR TO CLEAR THE CROSSING! SCARED THE WITS OUT OF ME!

CAR WILL RESTART AND STALL AGAIN AND AGAIN IF/WHEN I MAKE A TURN TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT UNTIL SUCH TIME AS LEVEL OF GASOLINE IN TANK FAILS BELOW THE FULL MARK. THIS IS A PROBLEM ON A LONG TRIP AS IT REQUIES NUMEROUS EXTRA STOPS FOR GAS AND STALLING AS I ENTER ROADWAY OR HIGHWAY IS DANGEROUS FOR ME AND SURROUNDING TRAFFIC/TRAVELERS.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 STALLS AT RANDOM TIMES. IT HAS STALLED WHILE I'M DRIVING OVER 45MPH, AROUND A CURVE, STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND DRIVING SLOWLY THROUGH A PARKING LOT. IT DOESN'T JUST STALL, IT STALLS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. WHEN IT STALLED THIS MORNING AROUND A CURVE, I HAD GREAT DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING THE STEERING SO THAT I DIDN'T GO INTO THE DITCH OR INTO AN ONCOMING VEHICLE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ MANY DISCUSSIONS ONLINE ABOUT THE CHRYSLER 300 VEHICLES STALLING, AND HAVING NO INDICATION FROM DASH LIGHTING THAT IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. TECHNICIANS CANNOT FIND ANY APPARENT REASON FOR THE STALLS BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SHOW UP AS CODE WHEN CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR 4 WEEKS AND HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR AT ALL.
TURNED IGNITION, CAR STARTS RIGHT UP, THEN STALLS. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS CAR BECOMES DRIVE-ABLE BUT STALLS WHILE DRIVING, STOPPING AND TURNING. AT THIS POINT STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND TURNING BECOMES DIFFICULT WHICH IS SCARY WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS PERIODICALLY, SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL DRIVE OKAY AND THEN STARTS STALLING. HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM IN 2013, TOOK TO DEALER AND HAD TO HAVE GAS TANK REPLACED AT A COST OF $1300.00 DOLLARS.

I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK, DROVE APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES AND CAME TO A STOP SIGN. AT THE STOP I EXPERIENCED A ERRATIC IDLE FOLLOWED BY MY CAR SHUTTING OFF. I STARED IT BACK UP AND FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS IT STILL AND A VERY ERRATIC IDLE. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE STREET BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS.
THE PASSENGER SEATBELT INDICATOR LIGHT FAILS TO EXTINGUISH IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER IS SEATED WITH THE BELT IS SECURELY CLICKED. IF I WIGGLE THE LATCH, SOMETIMES IT WILL GO OUT, BUT I WONDER WHAT EFFECT THIS HAS ON THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM IF THE BELT IS INDICATED AS UNFASTENED. IT SEEMS THE SEATBELTS SHOULD BE WARRANTED FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE AND ANYTHING NECESSARY TO PROTECT PASSENGERS SHOULD HAVE NO TOLERANCE FOR ERRATIC OPERATION.

I HAVE REPLACED THE COMPUTER, THROTTLE BODY, AND SEVERAL COIL PACKS. WHILE EACH REPAIR HELPED THE CAR WILL STILL STALL. VERY FRUSTRATING!

I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS MODEL AND CHRYSLER HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES ON THE FUEL TANK TO LIFETIME BUT FOR SOME REASON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE DOESN'T FALL UNDER THIS CIRCUMSTANCE DESPITE IT BEING THE EXACT SAME YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL LISTED ON THE DOCUMENTS.
