SHORTLY AFTER FILLING GAS TANK, WHETHER STANDING OR AT CONSIDERABLE SPEED, CAR STALLS SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED (IE 65 MPH ON ROUTE 80) CAR WILL SHUDDER AND THEN RESTART ITSELF; AT SLOW SPEED DRIVER MUST RESTART MANUALLY BY SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AND USING IGNITION. IF PARKED AT IDLE, CAR WILL JUST STOP SEVERAL TIMES. OCCURS AT ALL LEVELS OF GAS TANK PRIOR TO REFILL. (I AM FORCED TO SELECT A DATE, BELOW, BUT IT HAS HAPPEN MANY TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED THE CAR.)
THE IGNITION IS HARD TO START
MY CAR WAS STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE TOW TRUCK HAD TO DRAG MY CAR OUT OF A PARKING SPACE BECAUSE IT IS REAR WHEEL DRIVE AND SHIFTER WAS LOCKED AND BROKEN.I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE GEAR SHIFTER ASSEMBLY COSTING OVER $500.00. I HAVE RECEIPTS AND BROKEN PARTS AND CHRYSLER ONLY HAS RECALLS FOR ONLY CERTAIN YEARS AND VIN. #. RIDICULOUS!
THE CAR HAS A TICKING NOISE FROM UNDER THE ENGINE AND IT WON'T GO ABOVE 25MPH. THE CAR ALSO SHUTS OFF IF IT'S IDOLING AFTER BEING DRIVEN.
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF OARK. DEALER RECOGNIZED THE K39 PART WAS RECALLED AND IN MY VEHICLE BUT THERE'S NO RECALL FOR MY VIN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, WARSAW CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2777 N DETROIT ST, WARSAW, IN 46582, (574) 306-0489) REPLACED THE FUEL TANK, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER DUE TO A POTENTIAL ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,397.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND SMOKING A CIGAR, THE CONTACT PERCEIVED AN ODOR OF BURNING PLASTIC. THE CONTACT PULLED OUT THE ASHTRAY AND SAW FLAMES. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COMMUNITY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF MARTINSVILLE (555 IN-37, MARTINSVILLE, IN 46151), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
I HAVE HAD CONSTANT ISSUES WITH THE CONTROL ARMS, TIE RODS, AND THE DOOR HANDLES ARE ALL BROKEN. I HAD TO REPLACE MY RADIATOR TWICE NOW. I LOVE MY CAR, BUT I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE COSTS THAT I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR. THE RADIATOR ISSUES HAVE COME WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. MY ENGINE DIED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I NEVER HAD ANY WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE MOTOR BLOWING. I HAVE REGULAR MAINTENANCE DONE TO MY CAR, BUT A NEW ENGINE, 2 RADIATORS, TIE RODS, AND CONTROL ARM REPAIRS/CHANGES SEEM TO BE THE CONTINUUM FOR MY CAR. THE DOOR HANDLES ARE COSMETIC AND HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I HAVE RECORDS FROM MY DEALERSHIP AND ANOTHER PLACE I ENTRUST WITH MY VEHICLE.
AFTER PUTTING GAS IN MY CAR GAS TANK THE ENTIRE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICAL WILL SMELL LIKE GAS FUMES. WHEN I PARK THE CAR IN MY GARAGE THE SMELL IS SO STRONG MY ENTIRE GARAGE WILL SMELL LIKE GAS. THIS HAS OCCURRED EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JUNE OF 2018.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GALEANA CHRYSLER JEEP KIA (180 GREYSTONE BLVD, COLUMBIA, SC 29210, (803) 779-7300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS DISLOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE UPON FILL-UP. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUT-OFF WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, WITHOUT WARNING WHENEVER THE FUEL TANK WAS AT FULL CAPACITY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FREEDOM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM BY ED MORSE (815 E CAMP WISDOM RD, DUNCANVILLE, TX 75116) WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE AND REFERRED HER BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
THE SHIFTER WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK WITH THE CAR RUNNING AND THE BRAKE APPLIED.
CAR HAS LOW IDLE APPROX 500RPM SHOULD BE AT LEAST 700 STALLS WHEN IN GEAR AT A RED LIGHT. POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM IF IT STALLS WHEN LIGHT TURNS GREEN COULD GET REAR ENDED. 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS ON INTERNET. CHRYSLER HAS KNOWN THIS PROBLEM FOR 10 YRS WITH THIS HEMI 5.7 MOTOR WITH NO IDLE ADJUSTMENT POSSIBLE. IDLE IS COMPUTER CONTROLLED AND DEARERSHIP CAN NOT ADJUST IT. VERY SIMPLE VERY CHEAP FIX. A COMPUTER PATCH TO ALLOW DEALERSHIP TO ADJUST IDLE. DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NO FIX FOR PROBLEM. TOLD TO CLEAN THROTTLE BODY I DID IDLE WENT DOWN. DANGEROUS AND STUPID ON CHRYSLER PART VERY POOR AND DANGEROUS CUST SERV.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C 5.7L STARTING STALLING AFTER FILLING THE TANK AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORST. MY CAR NOW STOPS WHILE IDLE, AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, AND HAS EVEN STOP WHILE MAKING A TURN INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHO HAS TRIED TO CHARGE ME LABOR TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM (THOUSANDS) BUT, ULTIMATELY CLAIM THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. AFTER RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THEIR ARE THOUSANDS OF OWNERS WITH MY MAKE AND MODEL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I ALSO FOUND THAT CHRYSLER'S SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE THE GAS TANK, WHICH THEY CLAIM SHOULD FIX THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE TANK UNDER THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE STALLING PROBLEM. AFTER DOING MORE RESEARCH I FOUND THAT CHRYSLER DID A RECALL ON THIS SAME STALLING ISSUE FOR THE PACIFICA MINI VAN, BUT DID NOT INCLUDE MY MAKE AND MODEL. THE ISSUES ARE FOUND IN 2005-2006 CHRYSLER 300C HEMI 5.7L ENGINES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE HAS GONE SO LONG WITHOUT A RECALL. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BY STALLING WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. MEANWHILE MY CAR STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.
DEPRESSED ACCELERATOR PEDAL LIGHTLY TO PROCEED THROUGH AN INTERSECTION.ROUGHLY 10 MPH INTO THE ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN THROUGH THE NEXT INTERSECTION CAUSING A 3 CAR ACCIDENT AND 4 PEOPLE INJURED.ALL VEHICLES INVOLVED WERE DISABLING DAMAGE WITH MINE BEING THE WORST, TOTAL LOSS.AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING INJURY TO PASSENGER AND I RESULTING IN SEIZURES TO PASSENGER FROM HEAD TRAUMA.THIS DEFECT OF THE VEHICLE HAS CAUSED A MAJOR FINANCIAL BURDEN ON ME AND MY FAMILY FROM THE DATE OF ACCIDENT AND WELL INTO THE FUTURE WITH MY INSURANCE RATES SINCE I HAVE BEEN DEEMED AT FAULLT DUE TO CAR ACCELERATING INSTEAD OF ALLOWING ME TO STOP. *TT *DT
MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF DRIVING IT HAS STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS BERATED AND ONCE EVEN THREATENED AS SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES COULD NOT PASS THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR SOMEONES LIFE
CAR WAS WORKING JUST FINE. PARKED IT AND CAME BACK TO IT TO LEAVE AND IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. NO WARNING, NO INDICATION OF A PROBLEM, AND NO LOOSE OR BROKEN GEAR SHIFT AND IN A SPLIT SECOND, HAS LEFT ME STRANDED. EVEN THOUGH THE K39 NOTIFICATION FROM CHRYSLER STATES THAT MY YEAR AND MAKE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED, THEY WON'T HONOR IT UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT IT ONLY COVERED 30,000 VEHICLES AND MY VIN WASN'T INCLUDED. I EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE TOO BUT THEY WON'T COVER IT.
AFTER FILL UP TANK THE CAR STALLS 3 TO 6 TIMES IN THE FIRST 5 MILES. COMPLETELY DEAD NO POWER STEERING NO NOTHING. WILL RESTART. THEN DO IT AGAIN.

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED AS THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OVERHEAT. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND, UPON OPENING THE HOOD, NOTICED FLUID LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. ALSO, WHEN IT RAINED, WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE ROOF. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, ALL THE DOORS SHOOK AS IF THEY WOULD OPEN. THE DEALER (ECONOMIC AUTO SALES, 2715 MARTIN LUTHER KING JR PKWY, DES MOINES, IA 50314, 515-279-0325) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED 'AS IS'. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.
I FILLED MY CAR UP AND WITHIN 5 MILES IT STALLED. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME IF I PULL SOME FLUID FROM THE TANK THE CAR WILL REMAIN RUNNING.
AFTER FILLING GAS TANK ( FULL) THE CAR STALLS FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF MILES. THEN STOP SHORTLY AFTER. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2005-2006 MODELS WITH THE 5.7 AND 6.1 LITER ENGINES, BUT NOT FOR THE 3.5 LITER THAT I OWN EVEN THOUGH I HAVE FOUND THROUGH THE CHRYSLER FORUMS THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MANY OF THESE MODEL ( 2005-20006) CHRYSLER GAVE A LIFE TIME WARRANTY TO THE 5.7 AND 6.1 LITER MODELS , BUT NOT MINE. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS THE SAME DANGEROUS PROBLEM AS THOSE VEHICLES.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NOWHERE, I NOTICED THAT MY COOLANT INDICATOR LEVER HAD NOT MOVED. A FEW MILES LATER, IT STARTED RUNNING ROUGH SO I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND THEN IT STARTED SMOKING SO BAD I THOUGHT IT WOULD CATCH FIRE! I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO OPEN THE HOOD BECAUSE I WAS SO AFRAID! THANKFULLY FOR A FDOT OFFICER WHO DID OPEN IT AND STAYED WITH ME IN POURING RAIN UNTIL A TOW TRUCK CAME! AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TIMING BELT BROKE NOT GIVING ME ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER AND RESULTED IN MY ENGINE FAILURE. THEY STATED I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE AT A COST OF OVER $7000!!! I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED HOW THIS ALL HAPPENED! NO WARNING! NO WAY TO HAVE KNOWN THERE WAS AN ISSUE OR THAT THE CAR WAS OVERHEATING! CHRYSLER SHOULD BE ASHAMED!
GEAR SHIFT IS STUCK IN PARK, WILL NOT MOVE, NOT EVEN THE OVER RIDE BUTTON
A WEEK AGO I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR STALLED OUT AND DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND ALL I COULD DO WAS TO LET IT COME TO A STOP AFTER TRYING TO STEER IT FAILED. CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL, IT ONLY MADE A SLIGHT NOISE WHEN TRYING TO TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT WENT TOTALLY DEAD. HAD IT TOWED HOME AND CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC. WAS TOLD THAT MY SPARK PLUGS WERE BURNED OUT AND THE OIL PUMP FAILED, THENHAD SPARK PLUGS REPLACED, THATS WHEN IT STARTED AND STOPPED FOR GOOD. THAT'S WHEN I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE OIL PUMP AND HE TRIED TURNING THE FRONT PART OF THE MOTOR IT WOULD NOT TURN, HE THEN TOLD ME I NEED A MOTOR. I'VE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF MY CAR AND HAVE PROOF. I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO THE CHRYSLER 300'S. I'M LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T GET HURT OR IN A BAD WRECK. IS CHRYSLER GOING TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS PROBLEM OR WAIT TILL SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I'M JUST ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE IT REPAIRED OR REPLACED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW, NOW I'M STRANDED AND CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY A CAR. THEY NEED TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND WAS ABOUT TO GET ONTO THE FREEWAY. I ALSO BEEN HAVING COOLANT LEAKING AND CAR RAN HOT SEVERAL TIMES, COULDN'T FIND WHERE THE COOLANT LEAK WAS, HAD TO CHECK EVERY OTHER DAY AND ADD MORE COOLANT. NO COOLANT WAS ON THE GROUND UNDER THE CAR. BECAME HARD TO START AND HAD ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FREEWAY SEVERAL TIMES AND HAD TO WAIT FOR IT TO COOL OFF BEFORE CHECKING AND ADDING MORE COOLANT, AND WAITED AWHILE LONGER BEFORE STARTING IT TO DRIVE HOME. CHR CHRYSLER NEED TO BUY THIS CAR BACK. IT'S BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, LOOKS NEW, HAS NO DENTS AND NO RUST, INSIDE IS CLEAN, NO DAMAGE, ONLY LITTLE WEAR. I'M THE ONLY OWNER.
2006 CHRYSTLER 300C 5.7L HEMI WILL RANDOMLY DIE WHEN SITTING IDLE, AND WHILE IN MID DRIVE. THIS HAPPENS ON A HIGHWAY AT 75MPH OR IN TOWN AT 30MPH OR AT A STOP LIGHT 0MPH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO EVERYONE IN AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE WILL STALL CAUSING IT EITHER A.)DIE OR B.) LUNGE FORWARD AND POSSIBLY HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE.
2006 CHRYSLER 300C DIES SEVERAL TIMES AFTER REFUELING, WHICH OBVIOUSLY DISABLES THE POWER STEERING. THIS WILL HAPPEN UP TO 10 TIMES AND THEN THE CAR WILL RUN PROPERLY UNTIL THE NEXT REFUELING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 18 MONTHS.
AFTER FILLING THE GAS THE CAR WILL SPUTTER AND STALL. I ALWAYS USE 91-93 OCTANE FUEL FROM THE KROGER FUEL STATIONS, AND WHEN LEAVING THE LAST FEW TIMES I'VE HAD PROBLEMS GETTING UP TO SPEED WITHOUT THE CAR GETTING TO SPEED OR STALLING. IT WILL RESTART NORMALLY PRETTY EASILY OTHER THAN YESTERDAY WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT, IT KEPT STALLING COMING HOME, SHE PARKED IT, AND THE NEXT MORNING IT REFUSED TO START. IT TOOK A WHILE BUT AFTER STARTING AND RUNNING IT A BIT, IT'S RUNNING FINE. VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY IN FOR CHECKUP AT 78900 MILES (80K CHECKUP) AND HAS JUST OVER 80K ON IT NOW. I'M AN ADULT DISABLED DRIVER, IT GETS DRIVEN JUST NOT FAR AT ANY GIVEN TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO PERRY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2340 NATIONAL CITY, CA 91950, (619) 477-1234), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING INSPECTED AT MASSEY YARDLEY JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (777 SR 7, PLANTATION, FL), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WATER PUMP HAD A LEAK AND THE CYLINDER HEAD, WATER PUMP, TIMING CHAIN COVER, AND GASKETS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND CLEANED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY COVER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS), AND ANY CLAIMS WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE THIRD PARTY INSURANCE COMPANY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,200.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT SHUTS OFF OR STALLS AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. IT HAS TRIED TO STALL WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH, STALLED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ETC. CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. WE TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND THE CAR DID NOT STALL WHILE IT WAS THERE SO THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE NEXT DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. TO STALL WHILE TURNING ACROSS TRAFFIC IS UNSAFE. PARTS REPLACED SO FAR: GAS TANK (RECALL) GAS PUMP ACCELERATOR PEDAL DIAGNOSIS: APPARENT INTERMITTENT CONNECTION AT THE PCM. LAST REPAIR ATTEMPT(11/29/17) THE TECHNICIAN REPAIRED THE CONNECTION BY ALIGNING THE PINS (APPARENTLY SOME HAD PUSHED THROUGH THE BOARD) & CLEANING THE CONNECTION. IT HAS WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS SINCE THEN, BUT IS FAILING AGAIN. THE TECHNICIAN NOW SAYS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE), POSSIBLY DUE TO BROKEN SOLDER JOINTS ON THE BOARD THAT CANNOT BE REPAIRED. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO PCMS AVAILABLE FROM DEALERS AND THERE ARE 67 UNITS ON BACKORDER IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS . . . MANY WITH SIMILAR FAILURE MODES. FROM THE REPAIR SHOP: "DIAGNOSED AND TRACED MULTIPLE FAULTS TO COMMUNICATION LOSS AT POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. REMOVED UNIT FROM HOLDER AND WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING IF THE UNIT IT TAPPED OR SHAKEN THE ENGINE WILL STUMBLE OR STALL. - CONTACTED COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP AND THIS IS VERY COMMON ISSUE FOR SEVERAL CHRYSLER IN LAST MONTH OR SO . THE MAIN PROCESSOR GETS LOOSE ON CIRCUIT BOARD BUT THE CONTACTS ARE SO TINY REPAIR IS NOT POSSIBLE. NO LOCAL DEALERS HAVE UNIT AND THERE ARE 67 ON BACK ORDER IN LAST WEEKS."

IT WAS DARK WHEN THIS LAST HAPPENED AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL OVER TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS. I WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF LOSING ALL POWER. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED AS I DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED 4 MORE TIMES. THIS MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK IT DID IT AGAIN TURNED OFF ON FREEWAY ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AT 70 MPH. I SEE ONLINE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF SAME ISSUE. I CALLED THE CHRYSELR DEALER AND THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LISTEN TO THE ISSUE BUT OFFERED A $1800 FIX, SAME FIX THAT IS RECORDED ONLINE THAT DOESNT WORK
