THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
CAR IS STUCK IN PARK. CANNOT MOVE SHIFT LEVER OUT OF PARK. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (MORE NOTABLY IN MOIST WEATHER, I.E. RAIN, MORNING DEW, AND HUMIDITY) MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO PULL OFF OR VEER ON TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SHOW ANY ERROR CODES, NOR DOES IT HAVE ANY STORED CODES FROM THE OCCASIONS THAT THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE HAS COME UP. THE DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA CLAIM THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE AND CANNOT ATTRIBUTE IT TO ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR. THEY ARE RELUCTANT TO PROVIDE ME ANY TYPE OF ADVICE BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO BE "SUBJECT TO LEMON LAWS" AND SO FOR THAT FACT I FEEL THAT CHRYSLER IS ATTEMPTING TO TURN A BLIND EYE TO A VERY REAL, VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLES. *TR

I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTIFICATION MY MAIL TWICE THIS YEAR ABOUT THE AIRBAG INFLATOR. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP MORE THAN ONCE ABOUT REPAIR AND HAVE WAITED MORE THAN SIX MONTHS WITHOUT RESULT. EACH TIME I CALL, I'M TOLD PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND I WILL BE CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVE. SIX MONTHS IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WAIT FOR A REPAIR OF A PART THAT COULD TAKE YOUR LIFE OR CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BODILY INJURY EACH TIME YOU MUST DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE. HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE INJURED BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE TO EXPEDITE THESE REPAIRS?
IN MOTION, STATIONARY, OR AT ANY TIME OR PLACE. CITY, HIGHWAY, AND TURNING THOSE ABS CONTROLS COME ON AND OFF. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD LIGHTS BEGIN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF, LOSE POWER SEEMS CAR IS GOING TO NOT PERFORM. HAS POWER THEN SOMETIMES NO POWER. ABS CONTROL MODULE,, ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, FEELS LIKE TRANSMISSION MOMENTARY NO POWER WHILE DRIVING, SEEMS TO SLIP INTO NEUTRAL THEN TO DRIVE. LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THESE CAR ACTIONS SERIOUSLY PUTS MEIN UNSAFE VEHICLE MY MOM, MY GRAND KIDS IN DANGER. AND IN DANGER. YOU NEVER KNOW WHILE DRIVING IF THESE DEFECTS WILL HAPPEN OR NOT. HAD TO FIX GEAR SHIFT, IT LOCKED IN PARK DUE TO PIN SLIPPING OUT. I WANT ALL AND EVERY SINGLE RECALL FIXED FOR FREE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG WHILE. STILL OCCURING.
THE CORROSION ON THE CARS' ALLOY WHEELS IS SUCH THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO ALWAYS CARRY A MANUAL TIRE PUMP SINCE THE CORROSION ALLOWS AIR TO ESCAPE FROM THE TIRE. I HAVE CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS COMMON WITH ALLOY WHEELS WHICH ARE NOW USED TO EFFECT A WEIGHT SAVINGS. ADDITIONALLY, THE LUG NUTS HAVE A METAL (STAINLESS STEEL) PRESSED OVER THE STEEL LUG NUT TO PRESENT A MORE PLEASING APPEARANCE. UNFORTUNATELY, WATER AND ROAD SALT MIGRATE BETWEEN THE TWO METALS AND CORROSION CAUSES THE PRESSED-ON METAL TO EXPAND TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT A TIRE SHOP HAD TO HAMMER AN OVERSIZE SOCKET ON THE LUG NUT TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE WHEEL FROM THE CAR. THIS MEANS THAT A MOTORIST WHO EXPERIENCED ENOUGH OF A AIR LOSS WOULD BE UNABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS-PROVIDED TOOL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER K39. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.

AFTER MY CAR HAD BEEN SITTING AT WORK FOR ABOUT 10 HOURS, I FOUND THAT I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK. THE SHIFTER WAS LOCKED UP, AND WOULD NOT MOVE INTO GEAR. I GOOGLED THE ISSUE, AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN UNDER DESIGNED PLASTIC PIECE IN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY LOCATED UNDER THE SHIFT KNOB THAT WAS KNOWN TO BREAK AND CAUSE THIS ISSUE. I HAD TO TEAR APART MY CENTER CONSOLE AND USE A SCREW DRIVER TO MANUALLY PULL ON A CABLE IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE SHIFTER AND ALLOW ME TO GET OUT OF PARK. HAD I NOT HAD THE CORRECT TOOLS IN MY VEHICLE, I WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK. I HAD THE PART REPLACED, BUT EXPERIENCED A SECOND OCCURRENCE ABOUT 4 MONTHS LATER. THIS TIME I FOUND THAT MY CAR WAS STUCK IN GEAR. I WAS FREELY ABLE TO MOVE BETWEEN DRIVE, NEUTRAL, AND REVERSE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER INTO PARK. TO ADD TO THE HEAD ACHE, BECAUSE THE TOURING EDITION HAS A SLAP STICK FUNCTION (SIMILAR TO A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR), PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN GEAR DOES NOT CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO LOCK UP. THIS FACT, COMPOUNDED BY THE FACT THAT THE PARKING BRAKE DID NOT SUPPLY SUFFICIENT STOPPING POWER TO HOLD THE CAR AT A STANDSTILL ON EVEN A MILD GRADE SLOPE, I WAS UNABLE TO SECURE THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AWAY UNLESS ON A COMPLETELY FLAT SURFACE. I HAD TO PLACE WOOD BLOCKS UNDER THE WHEELS TO AVOID THE CAR FROM ROLLING AWAY. *TR
I SWITCHED MY CAR OFF TO PUMP GAS. WHEN I GOT INTO MY CAR TO TURN IN THE CAR MY KEY THE MOTOR WOULDN'T TURN OVER. ITS LIKE MY CAR JUST POWERED OFF. MY KEY WAS VERY LOOSE OUT IN THE IGNITION AND IT WASN'T MAKING CLICK SOUNDS LIKE IT NORMALLY DID AFTER YOU SWITCH THE KEY OUT OF THE LOCK POSITION. MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID MY IGNITION HOUSING WAS SHATTERED. MY CAR WAS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE THE ENTIRE DAY. CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP HAVE BEEN HAVING RECALLS ON THE IGNITION SWITCHES. I THINK THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. *TR

AIR BAG LIGHT WILL TURN ON AND OFF RANDOMLY WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR PARKED
CAR STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, ALL DASH LIGHTS LIT UP, GAUGES QUIT, CLIMATE CONTROL STOPPED, RESTARTED AND AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 500 FEET ALL RETURNED TO NORMAL??? *TR
DRIVING 60 MILES PER HOUR ON A HOUSTON,TEXAS CROWDED AND BUSY FREEWAY. MY CHRYSLER 300 CAUGHT ON FIRE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THICK BLACK SMOKE AND A STRONG SMELL OF BURNING OF BURNING PLASTIC. THE CAR CAUSED CARS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON A 5 LANE FREEWAY BECAUSE OF THE THICK SMOKE. MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED SO LOSS OF STEERING,BRAKES BECAME MUSHY. RIGHT BEFORE THE LOUD BOOM FIRE AND SMOKE. THE CHECK ENGINE DISPLAYED AND THEN THE OTHER LIGHTS IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SOUND OF A POP THEN BOOM OF SMOKE ALL WITHIN APPROX 5 SECONDS. IT HAPPENED REALLY FAST. I HAVE NO SPECIAL EQUIPMENT. NO REWIRING OF STEREO EQUIPMENT OR ANY OTHER KIND OF REWIRING. ALL FACTORY PARTS. *TR

WHEN DRIVING MY CAR THERE WAS NO INDICATION FROM THE PANEL THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM; CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF MOTOR OVER HEATED, CAR DOES NOT RUN AT ALL. THE PANEL OF THE CAR DID NOT SHOW ANYTHING AT ALL CAR COULD HAVE EASILY CAUGHT ON FIRE WITH ME LOCKED IN IT FAILURE OF THE SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTER LOCK LEVER WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED THE VEHICLE WAS SEIZED IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTERLOCK SHIFT LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE SHIFTED IN GEAR. I WAS IN A PARKED STATUS AND COULD NOT PULL THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. AAA WAS CALLED AND THEY COULD NOT TOW ME BECAUSE THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE TOWED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET IT ON THE FLATBED. AAA DISPATCHED ANOTHER TRUCK WITH A DOLLY AND AN ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN WHO WAS ABLE TO PULL THE GEAR LEVER WHILE PRESSING DOWN ON THE BRAKES TO RELEASE A PLASTIC PIN ON THE LINKAGE CABLE THAT WAS KEEPING THE LEAVER FROM MOVING. *TR
I PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE AND WHEN I TRIED TO BACK OUT THE CAR, THE GEAR WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE MANUAL SAID TO REMOVE AND THE SMALL STORAGE BIN AND PRESS THE PINK TAB. NOTHING HAPPENED. I CALLED AAA TOWING AND THEY CAME OUT. HE REMOVED THE ENTIRE TOP PORTION AROUND THE GEAR SHIFT AND SAID TO RELEASE THE GEAR SHIFT USE YOUR FINGER ALONG THE CABLE AND PUSH THE FIRST THING YOU FEEL. IT WORKED AND EACH TIME I REMOVE FROM PARK, I HAVE TO RUN MY FINGER ALONG THE CABLE AND PUSH THE BUTTON. HE SAID THAT A PINK $14 PART IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY QUOTED ME $450 TO REPAIR. I CALLED MY AUTO SHOP IN LA QUINTA AND THEY QUOTED $120. EVERYONE SAID THAT THIS OCCURS ALL THE TIME ON THE CHRYSLER 300. *TR

MY CARS ELECTRIC CONTROL THROTTLE WARNING SIGNAL CAME ON. MY CAR WAS GOING AROUND A CURVE ON A SUNNY DAY AND THE ABS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND ALSO THE WARNING LIGHT FOR NO TRACTION AND I HAVE NEW TIRES. THE IGNITION SOMETIMES FAULT WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO START THE CAR. *TR
ON YESTERDAY I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AFTER PICKING UP MY SEVEN YEAR OLD SON FROM SCHOOL PUT MY CAR INTO PARK AND THE EXHAUST FAN EXPLORED. THE BLADES HIT THE RADIATOR SO HARD IT PUT A HOLE IN IT. THE FLUID FROM THE RADIATOR POURED OUT ONTO THE DRIVE. ALL I COULD DO WAS SIT AND THANK GOD IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THE DAY BEFORE BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE SHIFT LOCK IN THIS SAME CAR AS IT WAS STRUCK IN PARK. WHAT'S NEXT????? HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THESE TWO PROBLEMS BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED. CLEARLY THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH ALL THESE CARS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, THE SHIFTER COULD NOT BE SWITCHED OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE INTERLOCK SHIFT LATCH FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
PARKED AND LOCKED VEHICLE IN PUBLIC LOT. WHEN LEAVING CAR STARTED BUT WAS LOCKED IN PARK. DETERMINED PROBLEM TO BE A FAULTY PINK TAB IN SHIFTER. *TR
HAD TO MOVE CAR OFF BLOCK DUE TO STREET REPAIRS BEGINNING. WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE IT TO WORK, CAR WILL NOT GO OUT OF PARK POSITION. ALSO, IN 2009, I TOOK CAR TO DEALER ON KIRKWOOD HWY IN WILMINGTON, DE. I TOLD THEM THAT WHEN THE CAR GOES ABOVE 60 MPH, THE ESC LIGHT COMES ON, CAR SLOWS DOWN TO AN EXACT STOP. THIS HAPPENS...AS YOU GUESS IT....IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. DEALER SAYS THEY HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IT, IN MY CAR AND THROUGH ANY COMPLAINTS. *TR
I DROPPED OFF MY CAR TO HAVE NEW TIRES PUT ON IT. THE SHOP CALLED ME BACK AND SAID IT MAY LEAK AIR IF THEY PUT THE ORIGINAL ALUMINUM STEM BACK IN THEY DON'T CARRY CHRYSLER PARTS SO THEY SUGGESTED USING A RUBBER STEM. THEY SAID I CAN PURCHASE ONE FROM AUTO STORE AND HAVE THE DEALER OR ANOTHER SHOP INSTALL IT. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR THE TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SENSOR) WAS NOT READING ONE OF THE TIRES. THEY SAID IF IT DOESN'T WORK BY THE MORNING TO BRING IT BACK IN. I BROUGHT IT BACK AND RECEIVED A CALL 4 HRS LATER STATING THEY HAD PULLED THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSOR OUT OF THE TIRE THE DAY BEFORE AND LEFT IT IN MY CUP HOLDER. THEY STATED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO THAT I NEED TO TAKE IT SOMEWHERE TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE SENSOR WORKS AND WORKED WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN. I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS ILLEGAL TO REMOVE A MANDATORY SAFETY DEVICE AND GIVE ME THE CAR BACK AND TELL ME TO HAVE ANOTHER PLACE TAKE CARE OF IT. 49 USC 30122(B). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAD DRIVEN MY CAR HOME FROM WORK, I WAS ON THE STREET I LIVE ON AND WAITING FOR AN AMBULANCE TO CLEAR THE ENTRANCE TO MY DRIVE WAY SO I COULD PARK. I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AT THE DIRECTION OF THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM, ONCE THE EMERGENCY VEHICLE HAD CLEARED THE ENTRANCE I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT MY CAR BACK IN TO DRIVE, OR REVERSE. IT WAS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO MOVE MY VEHICLE FROM THE ROAD IN ORDER NOT TO BLOCK TRAFFIC, I WAS ALSO SLIGHTLY IN THE LANE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE EMERGENCY VEHICLES AT THE TIME (I LIVE IN AN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY, IT IS NORMAL FOR THE EMERGENCY VEHICLES TO BE PRESENT ON AND AROUND THE PROPERTY AND THEY OFTEN DIRECT OTHER VEHICLES OUTSIDE OF THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC.) AFTER THIS INCIDENT I FOUND CHRYSLER HAD RECALLED SEVERAL VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR AS MINE. HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ON THE LIST, EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE, CHRYSLER CLAIMED THIS TO BE COINCIDENTAL. HAD MY VEHICLE BEEN HIT WHILE BLOCKING TRAFFIC, WOULD CHRYSLER THEN FIX THIS ISSUE? WOULD THE GOVERNMENT REQUIRE THEM TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IF SOMEONE DOES GET HURT? WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PRODUCT THAT HAS CLEARLY HAD THE SAME DEFECT THEY ALREADY KNOW EXISTS? I AM APPALLED THAT THEY CAN KNOWINGLY HAVE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND CLAIM IT TO BE COINCIDENTAL. ON TOP OF THAT, THEY PROFIT FROM SELLING THE REPLACEMENT PART, THE LABOR AND THEY DON'T COVER THE TOWING EXPENSE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. CAR STUCK PARK. FOUND INSTRUCTIONS IN MANUAL TO RELEASE BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEM OVERRIDE BY PRESSING THE PINK TAB. THAT DID NOT WORK. USED A STREW DRIVER TO MANUALLY MOVE THE GEAR OUT OF PARK. WENT TO GARAGE AND ASKED THAT THE PINK TAB BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS COMMON ON CHRYSLERS AND THAT THE ENTIRE GEAR SHIFT HAD TO BE REPLACED. IS THERE A RECALL? *TR
I HAVE OWNED TWO CHRYSLER 300'S BOTH BEING THE MODEL YEAR 2007 AND BOTH HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE GEAR SHIFT GETTING STUCK IN PARK. LEAVING TO TAKE MY SON TO SUMMER SCHOOL THIS MORNING AND COULD NOT GET MY CAR OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. HAD TO BREAK INTO THE CENTER CONSOLE AND USE A SCREWDRIVER TO GET THE CAR IN DRIVE. "UNFORTUNATELY" I KNEW HOW TO DO THIS BECAUSE THE 2007 MODEL THAT I OWNED THREE YEARS AGO DID THE EXACT SAME THING. I HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PUT MY PARKING BRAKE DOWN WHEN EVER I PARK MY CAR BECAUSE IF I PLACE IT IN PARK I WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL OF THE STEPS AGAIN TO UNLOCK IT. COOLING FAN SEPARATED FROM ITS ASSEMBLY WHILE PULLING OUT ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY FROM MY NEIGHBORHOOD. THE FAN SHATTERED AND TORE INTO MY RADIATOR CREATING A MAJOR ANTIFREEZE DUMP OUT OF THE RESERVOIR. THOUGHT I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND HOWEVER THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND ME. THERE WAS NOT ANY AUDIBLE WARNING INDICATORS OR DASH LIGHTS WARNINGS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS FAN FAILURE IN WHICH THE A/C CONTINUED BLOWING COLD AIR. WITHIN 3 MIN OF FAILURE AS I SET AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE COOLING TEMP LIGHT CAME ON. I VEERED OFF AND PULLED INTO JIFFY LUBE AND FOUND OUT I HAD A ANTIFREEZE LEAK DUE TO LOOKING AT A POOL OF RED LIQUID ON THE GROUND...THE MECHANICS POURED WATER INTO THE RESERVOIR AND WE ALL NOTICED WATER POURING RIGHT OUT....AS WE LET THE CAR COOL WE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART VEHICLE AND THE IGNITION WOULDN'T TURN ON. ....HAD MY CHRYSLER TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY QUOTED A $8000 FIX WHICH INCLUDED $4000 OF IT FOR A REFURBISHED ENGINE DUE TO CYLINDER HEAD DAMAGE...THE DAMAGE ALL HAPPENED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF FAILURE.....DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THERE IS A 2006- 2008 DODGE CHARGER, DODGE MAGNUM, AND CHRYSLER 300 RECALL "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION L08 ENGINE COOLING FAN JUNE 2011". RECALL STATES THAT THE COOLING FAN FAILS AND COMES OFF IN HOT CLIMATE TEMPERATURE STATES. THIS WAS THE SAME EXACT FAILURE I HAD EXPERIENCED AND WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER I WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE MY SALES CODE HAD TO BE SALES CODE XDL OR XDK...SAME EXACT SITUATION HAPPENED TO MANY OTHERS INCLUDING ONE A FEW WEEKS BEFORE MINE IN WHICH CUSTOMER WAS DENIED. CHRYSLER WAS CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE HAD 2 CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS HANG UP IN MY GIRLFRIEND'S FACE AS SHE WAS EXPLAINING TO THE REPS HOW THIS FAILURE WAS THE SAME EXACT FAILURE. I STARTED UP THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS A WEIRD NOISE COMING FROM UP UNDER THE HOOD. I THOUGHT IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE VEHICLE BESIDE ME SO I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND THE NOISE STOPPED. I STARTED MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN. SO I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR, RAISED THE HOOD AND OBSERVED COOLANT ON THE VEHICLE'S FRAME AND ON THE GROUND. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY FOUND THAT ONE OF THE TWO COOLING FANS SEPARATED AND PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS. I LEARNED OF A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE WITH MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE BUT CHRYSLER IS REFUSING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS STATING THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE SPECIFICALLY STIPULATED IN THE RECALL OCCURRED TO MY VEHICLE. *TR

THE FAN BROKE AND FLEW INTO THE RADIATOR, PUNCTURING IT. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO LOSE POWER AND DIE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THANKFULLY, I HAD JUST TURNED ONTO A STREET AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IF IT HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. HEARD LOUD NOISE WHEN NEARING HOME. WAS INSIDE HOME PARK. CAR SEEMED OKAY SO CONTINUED COUPLE BLOCKS TO DRIVEWAY. PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AND SAW SOME SMOKE COMING OUT OF HOOD. HAD MY SON LOOK UNDER HOOD TO FIND COOLING FANS COME APART. VISIBLE DAMAGE TO RADIATOR. CALLED DEALER AND THEY TOWED CAR TO THEIR FACILITY. MANAGER CALLED THIS MORNING TO VERIFY DAMAGE, HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE BUT THEY WOULD NOT FULLY COVER COST FROM CHRYSLER REPAIR DEPARTMENT, DIFFERENCE OF ABOUT $350.00. I FEEL THAT THIS A COST THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD ABSORB AS I FEEL THAT IT WAS DEFECT OF CHRYSLER COMPONENTS. *TR
