LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR IN DASH CAME ON, SO I WAS GOING TO CHECK TIRE PRESSURES. WHILE TAKING OFF PLASTIC VALVE STEM COVER, THE METAL VALVE STEM BLEW OFF, RELEASING ALL THE AIR IN FRONT TIRE. I TOOK IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER TO HAVE IT REPAIRED.( $170.00 ) THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE, WHERE IT CORRODED AROUND VALVE STEM CAP AND BLEW OFF. GOOD THING I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. PULLED OVER AND SHUT OFF CAR. AND TRIED TO RESTART. ENGINE STARTED BUT WAS IN 'LIMP' MODE AND HAD CODES IN COMPUTER. HAD CAR TOWED TO MECHANIC AND THEY STATED CODES P0344 , P0340 & B1A35 PRESENT. ADVISED THAT MOTOR NOW HAS A KNOCK IN IT AND WOULD NEED AN ENTIRE REPLACEMENT.
