DRIVE SHAFT IS LOOSE AND IS BANGING IN CAR. DEALER HAD BEEN UNABLE TO FIND PROBLEM AND TELLS THE CLUNKING NOISE IS UNKNOWN. I TOKE IT TO OUTSIDE MECANIAC AND HE SAYS I JOINTS HAVE PLAY BUT CHRYSLER DONOT MAKE UJOINTS FOR THE CAR IN RETURN YOU MUST BUY THE ENTIRE DRIVE SHAFT I BELIEVE THE DRIVE SHAFT HAS BEEN RUINED BECAUSE SOMETHING IS LOOSE LIKE THE BOLTS BUT THE DEALER SAYS IT'S NOT UNDER THE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE WITH THE SHIFT LEVER IN PARK, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY AND CRASHED INTO A METAL POST. THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR WAS DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS THOUGHT TO BE IN PARK, BUT THE SHIFT LEVER WAS ACTUALLY IN THE REVERSE POSITION THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,327. UPDATED 06/02/17*LJ VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON 4/05/2017. I PURCHASED THIS CHRYSLER 300 IN 2014 AND PAID CASH 25,000 AND ONLY HAVE 17,000 BECAUSE I FEAR FOR MY LIFE TO DRIVE IT. ON SEVERAL OCCASION MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED WHILE IN MOTION WITHOUT WARNING AND THE GEAR SLIPS FROM DRIVE TO PARK. WHILE EXITING MY VEHICLE AFTER I HAVE PARKED MY CAR SLIPS INTO DRIVE CAUSING ME TO STUMBLE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO AID ME BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WOULD STOP WITH WARNING. ONCE WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY MY CAR STOPPED WHILE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND WENT INTO PARK ON ITS OWN, I NOTIFIED THE TOWING COMPANY AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. WHILE AT A DEALERSHIP I WAS NOTIFIED OF A DEFECT AND THEY STATED THEY WOULD FIX IT. ON A SECOND OCCASION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY THE CAR CONTINUED TO PUT ITSELF IN PARK AND WHILE TRYING TO REVERSE MY CAR WENT INTO PARK. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I AGAIN CONTACTED A TOWING COMPANY WHERE THEY TOWED ME TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY AGAIN ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. AGAIN AFTER 2 YEARS I AM STILL FEARFUL TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I HAVE MADE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP TO NO AVAIL. MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO MOVE FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND VISE VERSA. PLEASE HELP I HAVE NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION, MY HUSBAND HAS RECENTLY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH PROSTATE CANCER AND I NEED THIS VEHICLE IN ORDER TO WORK AND TAKE HIM TO HIS DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT. AT THIS RATE WE WILL BOTH NEED DOCTORS IF I'M NOT DEAD FIRST. THIS IS MY FINAL ATTEMPT TO GET ASSISTANCE WITH VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP HAS MADE ATTEMPTS TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION, I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I AM COMPLETELY TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE EACH TIME I DRIVE.
I PURCHASED MY 2014 CHRYSLER 300C BRAND NEW FROM A CHRYSLER DODGE AND JEEP CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP. SINCE THE FIRST DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS. FIRST STARTED WITH THE REAR WINDOW SHADE MALFUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING AND FRONT DRIVER SEAT WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD OR REVERSE THE SAME DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR, DEALER SAID THEY WOULD FIX. TOOK MORE THAN TWO TRIPS TO DEALER TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. NEXT AT AROUND 6000 MILES I HAD CYLINDERS MISFIRE WHILE DRIVING, TOOK ME MORE THAN 3 TRIPS TO DIFFERENT DEALERS TO GET PROBLEM RESOLVED. THEY DID NOT TELL ME WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM, JUST FIXED IT. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I HAD ALOT OF SMOKE AND BURNT SMELL COMING FROM MY ENGIN WHILE DRIVING, DEALER SAID A GASKET WAS MISSING. I HAD AIR COMING THROUGH DRIVER FRONT AND REAR DOORS. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER TO GET FIXED, SUPPOSIBLY THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT TO THIS DATE I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH AIR COMING THROUGH DOORS AS I'M DRIVING, NOW THE WORSE PROBLEMS ARE HAPPENING.ON MID 2016 THE RACK AND PINION GAVE OUT. ON SEPTEMBER OF 2016 ALL MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STARTED TO GO HAYWIRE, WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES, GAUGES GOING UP AND DOWN, TRANSMISSION SHIFTING BY ITSELF, LIGHTS ON AND OFF ETC, THIS HAPPEND WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, WE PULLED OVER TURNED OFF THE CAR, TURNED IT BACK ON STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO TURN. TOOK TO DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS POWER STEERING PUMP. SO THEY REPLACED. ABOUT A MONTH LATER MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR ACCELERATED TO HI RATE OF SPEED BY ITSELF. AFTER SHE GAINED CONTROL SHE DROVE HOME. NOW 2 DAYS AGO WE HAD THE SAME ELECTRICAL HAYWIRE MALFUNCTION, THIS TIME AS ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL THINGS THAT HAPPENED AS LAST TIME THE CAR ACCELERATED BY ITSELF, WE PULLED OVER TO GAS STATION, TRIED TO TURN ON AND CAR WAS DEAD, HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ETC LIGHT ON.THIS CAR HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS FOR MY FAMILY.
BACK LEFT INDICATOR BLINKS ABOUT FOUR TIMES THEN ACTS AS IF LAMP IS BLOWN. TURN CAR OFF AND START LATER INDICATOR WORKS BUT THEN AFTER 4 BLINKS IS OUT AGAIN. REPLACED LAMP. SYSTEM STILL HAS ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. SEAT BELTS SHOULDER HARNESS IN ALL BACK SEATS INERTIA LOCKS DO NOT OPERATE IN EMERGENCY STOPS. MY CHILDREN FLEW FORWARD WITH THEIR CAR SEATS WHEN A CAR RAN A STOP SIGN AND I LOCKED THE BREAKS TO AVOID A COLLISION.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
PASSENGER AIRBG SIGNAL RANDOMLY GOES ON AND OFF WHETHER A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT OR NOT. SERVICE TRANSMISSION SOON SIGNAL GOES ON AND OFF SINCE 28,000. BACKUP CAMERA REPLACED BUT STILL DOESNT WORK EVERY TIME. BEEN IN SHOP 6 TIMES IN LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. IN THERE NOW BECAUSE I COMPLAINED TO CHRYSLER.
MY CAR GOT INTO AN AUTO ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WE WERE TRAVELING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, WEATHER WAS RAINY, ON NB I 5 JUST PASSING MILE POST 22 IN WOODLAND WASHINGTON STATE.
WHEN DRIVING OR NOT DRIVING SUN ROOF WILL NOT GO CLOSE I HAVE TO PUSH BUTTON A FEW TIMES OR WAIT A FEW MINUTES, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON WHEN STARTING CAR OR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WHEN BRAKING POPPING SOUND COMES FROM LEFT SIDE OF CAR AND A LITTLE SLIDING, PAINT PEELING OFF BACK BUMPER. PURCHASED USED 2014 CHRYSLER 300S ON 9/28/16 AFTER DRIVING THE CAR AT NIGHT FOUND THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND WHEN TURNING THE CAR RIGHT OR LEFT ALMOST NO LIGHT. WE LIVE IN A RURAL PART OF SOUTH EASTERN WISCONSIN AND HAVE A LOT OF DEER AND THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND ASKED ABOUT ANY RECALLS ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT SEE ANY THAT WERE LISTED. I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BUT IT ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED .
DRIVING MY 2014 CHRYSLER 300 AT NIGHT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE. THE HEADLIGHTS GIVE YOU NO SIDE LIGHT AND THE LOW BEAM IS VERY DIM. THE PROJECTED LIGHT BEAM IS MISADJUSTED AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. LIGHTING IS TO DIM, CANNOT SEE THE ROAD VERY WELL AT NIGHT AND THERE IS NO SIDE VISION AT ALL DUE TO THE DIMNESS OF THE LIGHTS. IF AN ANIMAL WERE TO JUMP IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT BEE SEEN UNTIL IT WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CAR. IF SOMEONE IS WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD GETTING READY TO CROSS THE STREET AND THE CAR IS GETTING READY TO TURN ONTO THAT STREET, THE PEDESTRIAN WOULD NOT BE SEEN AT ALL!

I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACED AND STILL HAVE A REALLY BAD SHAKING AND VIBRATION IN THE CAR
I GOT INTO MY CAR WHICH WAS PARKED INSIDE MY HOUSE GARAGE. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND MOVED ABOUT 1 TO 2 FEET BACK - BUT HAD TO STOP THE CAR AS MY BROTHER WANTED TO GET INTO THE CAR. I PUT THE CAR IN "PARK". AS HE WAS GETTING INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR I STARTED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AS I WANTED TO GET A TOWEL ON MY GARAGE SHELF. HOWEVER, BEFORE MY BROTHER COULD CLOSE THE DOOR THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS OUT OF THE GARAGE. I WAS ALREADY OUT OF THE CAR WHEN IT WAS MOVING BACKWARDS SO I COULD NOT GET BACK INTO THE DRIVER'S SEAT -SO INSTEAD I REACH DOWN AND PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH MY HAND. BUT IT WAS TOO LATE. THE PASSENGER DOOR GOT CAUGHT ON THE GARAGE WALL AND WAS BENT BACKWARDS. THE PASSENGER DOOR IS NOW DAMAGED, BENT IN TWO PLACES AND DOES NOT CLOSED CORRECTLY.

THE FAILURE RECURRED EACH TIME THE IGNITION WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE INDICATOR SENSOR FROM THE INTAKE VALVE AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG IMPACT SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE INDICATOR SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR SENSOR WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
"STEERING WHEEL" THE LEATHER WRAPPED STEERING WHEEL OF CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP AND RAM VEHICLES HAS A POOR QUALITY OF LEATHER WHICH CRACKS AND DISINTEGRATES OVER TIME, THE VEHICLE NOTED IN THIS COMPLAINT AT LESS THAN 30,000 MILES SHOWED THE MATERIAL DEFECT. IT HAS BEEN A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE TO WHICH FCA-CHRYSLER REFUSES TO RESPOND TOO. THE ISSUE IS THAT OVER TIME AS THE MATERIAL CONTINUES TO DETERIORATE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BREAK APART CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSES ISSUES WITH THE ABILITY TO CORRECTLY HOLD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL AMONG OTHER THINGS. THE LEATHER USED IT WAS CONFIRMED BY A REPRESENTATIVE FOR FCA-CHRYSLER IN THE ORLANDO FLORIDA REGION THAT THIS OCCURS EVEN ON VEHICLES SHE OWNS AND OTHERS SHE HAS INSPECTED AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A REMEDY.

ON JULY 17 2016 I DROVE IN A CAR WASH PARKING LOT.I STOPPED AND SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND I WAS IN THE MOTION TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. BUT THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE AND MOVED SEVERAL FEET IN REVERSE HITTING A STEEL POST IN THE GROUND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE REAR OF MY CAR. THE TRANSMISSION WHEN FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL TO REVERSE BUT NOT INTO PARK. THERE WERE TWO PEOPLE STANDING NEAR MY CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IF THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN BEHIND MY CAR IT HAVE BEEN A POSSIBLE SERIOUS INJURY . SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

VEHICLE FUEL PUMP FAILED AT 17,000 MILES DUE, APPARENTLY, TO ETHANOL CONTENT IN GASOLINE. CHRYSLER MARKETED THIS MODEL DURING THE 2014 YEAR AS A FLEX-FUEL VEHICLE (FFV). EVIDENTLY THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE (AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS) ARE NOT ACTUALLY INTENDED TO BE FLEX-FUEL DESPITE CHRYSLER'S PRIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS AND THERE IS NO WARNING WHATSOEVER THAT THESE VEHICLES MAY NOT BE OPERATED ON A MIXTURE OF GAS-ETHANOL. THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE IF THE FUEL PUMP WERE TO FAIL DURING OPERATION ON THE ROAD.

I WAS AT A COMPLETE REST APPROXIMATELY 5-10 FT BEHIND A SEMI TRACKER TRAILER TRUCK WHEN A VEHICLE TRAVELING AT A RATE OF 55 MPH REAR ENDING MY STOPPED VEHICLE. THE IMPACT WAS SO GREAT IT FORCED AND PUSHED THE FRONT-END OF MY VEHICLE DIRECTLY INTO THE REAREND OF THE STATIONARY SEMI TRUCK. THE ACCIDENT RESULTED IN MYSELF, THE DRIVER, AND THE PASSENGER (BOTH OF US SEAT BELTED) TO SUSTAIN CONCUSSIONS, SEVERE CERVICAL STRAINS, UPPER AND LOWER BACK INJURIES, HIP CONTUSIONS AND FACIAL LACERATIONS. AS THIS SERIOUS AND VERY VIOLENT THREE VEHICLE OCCURRED THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. UNDER THESE LIFE THREATENING CIRCUMSTANCES IF THE AIR BAGS HAD PROPERLY DEPLOYED OUR INJURIES MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SO SEVERE.

DURING THE TOWING, THE CAR WAS DAMAGED IN THE FRONT END AND NOW RATTLES ON THE LEFT FRONT WHEN THE CAR HITS A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED AND THE DAMAGE REPAIRED SINCE THE DAMAGE AFFECTS THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. IN ADDITION, THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM CAUSED THE CAR TO BE SCRATCHED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND COST ME A GREAT DEAL OF TIME AND MONEY. ON NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GEAR THE TRANSMISSION IS IN. I PARK THE CAR AND THINK IT IS IN PARK ONLY TO FIND OUT IT IS IN REVERSE.AS I AM STEPPING OUT OF THE CAR IT STARTS TO BACK UP. I WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WITH OUR 11 YEAR-OLD CHILD BEHIND ME AND 9 YEAR-OLD CHILD SEATED BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT. ALL 3 OF US WERE WEARING SEAT BELTS. MY HUSBAND WALKED ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND DOWN THE BLOCK. I WAS TEXTING SOMEONE ON MY CELLPHONE WHEN MY 11 YEAR-OLD EXCLAIMED THAT THE CAR WAS MOVING. WITHOUT LOOKING UP FROM MY PHONE, I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT IT WAS PROBABLY THE ILLUSION OF A CAR PULLING INTO OR OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT BESIDE US. SHE SCREAMED, "NO THE CAR IS DEFINITELY MOVING!" THE CAR WAS ACCELERATING BACKYWARDS. I MADE EVERY EFFORT TO MOVE THE GEARSHIFT, GRAB THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIT THE BRAKES BUT DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE LARGE CONSOLE I COULD NOT SWING MY LEG OVER TO REACH THE BRAKE. THE CAR MOVED IN REVERSE ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND STRUCK AN UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE LOT. THANKFULLY, THE CAR DID NOT STRIKE ANY PEDESTRIANS OR OCCUPIED VEHICLES, AS THIS WAS A BUSY PARKING LOT. OUR CHRYSLER ENDURED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WHILE THE DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS MINOR. MY CHILDREN AND I WERE EXTREMELY UPSET. WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL THAT NO ONE WAS PHYSICALLY INJURED BUT WE WERE ALL QUITE SHAKEN BY THE OUT OF CONTROL CAR. THE IMPACT WAS SUCH THAT IT MAKE A LOUD "THUD" SOUND WHEN IT COLLIDED WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE AND JOLTED US A BIT. WE WERE COMPLETELY SHOCKED THAT THE CAR SEEMINGLY ON IT'S OWN WENT FROM "PARK" INTO "REVERSE". MY HUSBAND HAD TIME TO WALK ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND DOWN THE BLOCK BEFORE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS LONG OUT OF HIS SIGHT BEFORE IT STARTED TO MOVE. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUSLY DEFECTIVE. WE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO OUR INSURANCE CARRIER THE NEXT DAY.
