07/05/07 CUSTOMER REPORTED BLOWER MOTOR NOISY, CHRYSLER CHECKED AND FOUND BLOWER MOTOR NOISY AND REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR. COST TO CUSTOMER $179.00. ON 08/11/10 BLOWER MOTOR NOISY ON HIGH SPEEDS, CHRYSLER REMOVED AND REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR. COST TO CUSTOMER $256.00. ON 07/05/12 CUSTOMER EXPERIENCING SAME PROBLEM WITH NOISY BLOWER MOTOR. WILL NEED TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALER TO HAVE BLOWER MOTOR REPLACED AGAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL FAILURES SINCE THE DATE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE WEATHER STRIPPING CAME OFF AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR REPAIR. THE LOCKS ON THE DRIVER SIDE FAIL TO INDICATE WHEN THE DOORS ARE LOCKED. TWO WEEKS AGO, WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE STEERING WHEEL FELT AS IF IT WOULD DETACH. WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR TIRES APPEARED LOOSE AND THE REAR AXLE FAILED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY AT THE TIME OF FAILURE. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 47,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. ON MAY 30, 2007, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED THE PREVIOUS DAY. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT THE MOST RECENT LOSS OF POWER TOOK A LITTLE LONGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE IS SAFETY RECALL # 04V113000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)) FOR HER VEHICLE. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 80,000.
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH APPROX. 46,000 MILES LOGGED. ELECTRIC SEATS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER NO LONGER ADJUST. ALSO, DRIVER MEMORY AND PEDAL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT INOPERATIVE. AS MY SPOUSE AND I ARE ABOUT 12" DIFFERENT IN HEIGHT, SHE IS NO LONGER ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR. WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT, SHE WAS UP AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND SAID IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS. *JB
THE FRONT ROTORS ON MY 2004 CHRUSLER PACIFICA ARE IN NEED OF "TURNING" AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE FRONT ROTORS WERE FIRST TURNED BY CHRYSLER IN JANUARY 2006 AT ROUGHLY 40000 MILES, BUT NEED TURNING AGAIN NOW AT NEAR 50000 MILES. THIS, TO ME, IS INDICATIVE OF A WEAKNESS IN THE DESIGN OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM. *AK
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR WORKED WHEN I GOT A FLAT TIRE. WHEN TIRE WAS REPLACED, MECHANIC SAID THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TODAY I HAD THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE SENSOR ON THE TIRE THAT ORIGINALLY WENT FLAT, SERVICE WRITER CALLED TO SAY ALL 4 SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS NONE ARE RESPONDING! *TR
HAVE HAD MANY INSTANCES WHERE THE POWER SEATS IN MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFFICA WERE NOT ABLE TO MOVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN INSTANCES IN WHICH IT POSES A SIGNIFICANT DRIVER SAFETY ISSUE. ON ONE OCCASION MY WIFE HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH HER BODY ALMOST PINNED AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MANY CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S, I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERS, AND THEY BOTH ADMIT THEY HAD MANY OCCURRENCES OF THIS. THERE ARE AT LEAST TWO SEPARATE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS RELATING TO THIS ISSUE. THEY REFUSE TOO PERFORM ANY SERVICES UNDER A SAFETY ALERT. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL THERE IS A FATALITY RELATED TOO THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE , AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER.*AK
I HAD A BAD VIBRATION IN THE FRONT . SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SINCE I HAD A FACTORY EXTENDED WARRANTY BUMPER TO BUMPER., THEY SAID THE CAR NEEDED TIRES. SO I CHANGED THE TIRE IT STILL VIBRATED. GO BACK NOW IT IS THE RACK & PINION BUSHINGS ARE BAD . BUT I NEED TO REPLACE THE K FRAME BECAUSE A WELD IS BROKEN. THEY SAY I BROKE IT CAUSE THERE ARE SCRATCHES ON IT. {NOT THAT VIBRATION DID IT} SO I PAID TO HAVE A NEW ONE PUT IN . 8 MONTHS LATER THE MOTOR MOUNTS BREAK AND THE ENGINE DROPS 2" FROM THE GROUND . THANK GOD MY FAMILY WAS NOT DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY. SO I TAKE IT BACK AND THEY SAY BECAUSE THERE IS SCRATCHES ON IT AGAIN THAT BROKE THE BUSHINGS .ONCE AGAIN I ENDED UP PAYING TO HAVE IT FIXED. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S REAR ENGINE MOUNT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH ON CLEAR SUNNY DAY, SHE HEARD A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. SHE STATED THAT SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER REAR ENGINE MOUNT HAD BROKEN. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT HAD SHE NOT BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN THE ENGINE COULD HAVE FALLEN OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE FOUND OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000 MILES.
ON SEVERAL (10+) OCCASIONS IN THE LAST MONTH, OUR CAR HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE A FUEL STARVATION ISSUE. ON THE LAST EVENT WE WERE NEARLY REAR-ENDED BY FOLLOWING CARS DUE TO THE SPORADIC ACCELERATION/DECELERATION. I HAVE BROUGHT THE PACIFICA TO THE DEALER TWICE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED AND HAVE BEEN TOLD TWICE THAT NO PROBLEM CAN BE FOUND AND THE COMPUTER DOES NOT INDICATE A "FAULT CODE" FOR WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
HAD TO HAVE MY 2004 PACIFICA STATE INSPECTION DONE, IT FAILED INSPECTION FOR THE FRONT RIGHT TIE ROD. THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY WOREN OUT AND THE WHOLE WHEEL SHOOK BACK AND FORTH. THIS PUT MY CHILDREN IN DANGER EVERYDAY. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAVE WORN OUT.*AK
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR SLOWER, WHEN SLOWING DOWN CAR WOULD SHAKE BAD,TOOK TO DEALER, SAID BAD TIRES. REPLACED TIRES KEEP DOING IT, BACK TO DEALER 3 WEEKS LATER LEFT TIRE ROD WAS BAD. DEALER REPLACED BRAKES, ROTORS AT 25,000 MILES, WE NOW HAVE 53,000 WHEN ROD GOES OUT. HELP ALSO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS RESULTING IN LOOSE BOLTS IN FRONT AXLES LOUD CLUNK BACK AGAIN. *JB
I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE AT THE STORE WENT IN FOR FIVE MINUTES CAME BACK OUT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. BY THE WAY IT WAS ABOUT 10 DEGREES OUT AT THE TIME. THANK GOD THERE WAS SOMEONE AROUND TO JUMP START THE CAR. MY WIFE FINALLY GOT TO WHERE SHE WAS GOING AND SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND TRIED TO START IT IMMEDIATELY AFTER AND IT WOULD NOT START IT WOULD JUST CLICK. THIRTY MINUTES LATER SHE WENT OUT THE CAR STARTED. ALL WEEKEND THE CAR WOULD START THEN THE NEXT TIME IT WOULD NOT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TOO MANY TIMES TO US WE DO NOT KNOW IF WE ARE GOING TO MAKE WHERE WE NEED TO GO OR NOT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TEN TO FIFTEEN TIMES TO THIS VEHICLE. *JB
LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT BURNS OUT AT 34K MILES. REPLACED H7 (OEM) LAMP MYSELF BECAUSE DEALER CLAIMS IT IS A MAINTENANCE ITEM AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. UPON INSTALLING NEW LAMP THE OTHER LOW BEAM LAMP EXPIRED. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT AND CHECKED MY CAR STATS TO VERIFY ANY REPORTS. I SEE I AM NOT ALONE. *JB
I LEFT HOME YESTERDAY WITH 5 CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO HER BALLET AND MUSIC LESSONS. EVERYTHING WAS FINE WHEN WE LEFT AND I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT HAPPENING ON THE DRIVE. AFTER RETURNING HOME, MY OLDEST DAUGHTER WENT TO THE GARAGE TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE CAR. SHE CAME BACK IN AND TOLD ME THE GARAGE SMELLED OF GASOLINE. I WENT OUT TO FIND A HUGE PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER THE CAR AND THE PLASTIC (OF ALL THINGS) COUPLING BETWEEN THE TANK AND THE LINE LEAKING PROFUSELY. WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS THIS MORNING AND FOUND THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TANK AS IT IS ALL MADE AS ONE PIECE. THE TANK ALONE IS $500.00. THAT ISN'T INCLUDING TAX OR LABOR. I AM ALSO WITH OUT A CAR FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT WHEN I THINK OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY CHILDREN... NOT TO MENTION HAD MY DAUGHTER NOT FOUND THE LEAK AND WE HAD LET IT LEAK A FULL TANK OF GAS OUT INTO THE GARAGE UNDER WHERE MY CHILDREN SLEEP! WHY DID THEY MAKE THAT THING OUT OF PLASTIC AND NOT PROTECT IT FROM DEBRIS ON THE ROAD?? *JB

THE CONTACT STATES THAT BATTERYWAS LEAKING ACID. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT DISABLED THE CRUISE CONTROL. *AK
TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE PURCHASED HIS 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND TWO WEEKS LATER, THE VEHICLE STALLED FREQUENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 25-35 MPH THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. TO RESTART THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL; HOWEVER THERE HAVE BEEN OCCASIONS WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE.
WHILE DRIVING THE FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY DROPPED FROM 1/2 TANK TO EMPTY AND THE FUEL ALARM SOUNDED. I WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY STOP AND REFUEL WHILE ONLY BEING ABLE TO FILL ABOUT 1/2 A TANK FULL. THIS HAPPENED ON THREE DAYS WILL ON VACATION TRAVELING. I CALLED MY HOME PURCHASE DEALER AFTER THE SECOND EVENT TO DISCUSS THE PROBLEM AND WAS ADVISED TO KEEP THE FUEL ABOVE 1/4 TANK AND BRING TO THE SHOP ON RETURN FROM VACATION. UPON INSPECTION, I WAS ADVISED THAT NOT ONE BUT BOTH FUEL PUMPS HAD 2 DIFFERENT ERROR CODES. I WAS AWARE OF THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM AND RECALL AND ADVISED, ONLY ON ASKING, THAT THE VIN NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LIST AND I WAS 4,000 MILES BEYOND WARRANTY. THE FULL REPAIR WAS ON ME FOR $600+ DOLLARS. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT FROM OTHER POSTINGS OF THIS PROBLEM THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND MY VIN NUMBER SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. I COULD NOT GET SATISFACTION FROM THE DEALER OR CHYRSLER. AFTER PURCHASING CHRYSLER FOR THE LAST 3 NEW VEHICLE PURCHASES I AM NOT INCLINED FOR CHRYSLER TO BE SELECTED FOR MY NEXT NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE.*AK
RIGHT FRONT INNER TIE ROD END WAS FOUND TO HAVE TOO MUCH PLAY TO DO AN ALIGNMENT AFTER REPLACEMENT OF TIRES. NO PARTS AVAILABLE. QUOTED $1500 FOR SERVICE BY CHRYSLER. VEHICLE HAS 53,000 MILES- NO WAY MAJOR SUSPENSION COMPONENTS SHOULD BE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. TIE ROD END NOT REPLACEABLE BY ITSELF- ENTIRE STEERING ARM, TIE ROD ENDS AND STEERING BOX MUST BE REPLACED AT A PARTS COST OF OVER $750! *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAD STALLING PROBLEMS. SHE STATED THAT 2 MONTHS AGO WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH SHE LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD AND NOTICED THAT ENTIRE DASHBOARD DISPLAY FAILED. THE POWER STEERING LOCKED, AND SHE TRIED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. SHE CALLED WARWICK CHRYSLER JEEP DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WOULD HAVE TO HAPPEN AGAIN ,AND THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS TO COME ON IN ORDER FOR THEM TO DO ANYTHING. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND NOTHING HAPPENED, BUT SHE DID NOTICE THAT WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM, THE GPS LIGHTS WERE DIM ALSO. WHILE DRIVING ON 02/07/07 AT 55 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. SHE STATED THAT THE ENTIRE DASH, THE GPS, THE STEERING CUT COMPLETELY OFF. SHE STA SHE HAD A SATELLITE RADIO PLUGGED INTO THE HOT PLUG, THAT WAS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY AND THAT DIDN'T SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WARWICK, AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT THEY NEEDED TO UPDATE THE COMPUTER WHICH COST THEM $140.00. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE FOUND ON THE INTERNET A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CONTACT FOUND RECALLS 06V432000 & 04V113000 FOR 2004-2006 VEHICLES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68111, AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62500.*AK
CAR STALLED (SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY) IN SUBURBAN TRAFFIC. WAS ABLE TO BE RE-STARTED. *JB
FRONT TRANS BRACKET BROKE. ASKED CHYRSLER TO DO SOMETHING. THEY EXPEDITE PART THROUGH SERVICE/PARTS AT DEALERSHIP. TOLD 3 MONTH WAIT WITH NO DEFINITE DELIVERY. NO PART AVAILABLE DUE TO BACKLOG. TEN CUSTOMERS WAITING FOR PART IN UNITED STATES. BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND SAFETY DEFECTIVE PART. TRANSMISSION/ ENGINE CAN COME APART WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING. *JB
A HOLE IN THE GAS TANK. NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, NO OFF ROAD USE. UNABLE TO DRIVE UNTIL FIXED. DEALER CHARGED $70 TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. DEALER QUOTED $958 FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT. *NM
WE HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA MANUFACTURED ON 10/31/03. IN NOVEMBER 2006 @ 49K MILES, WE BEGAN TO ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR. EVEN THOUGH THE TANK WAS FULL IT WILL DROP TO EMPTY AND INDICATE LOW FUEL. IT THEN IT WILL BOUNCE BACK TO HALF FULL OR FULL. THEN DROP AGAIN TO LOW FUEL. IT MAY DO THIS 10 TIMES DURING A SHORT CROSS TOWN TRIP. WE TOOK IN BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A BAD FUEL CONTROL MODULE AND THAT CHRYSLER HAD JUST ISSUED A RECALL (F44) FOR THIS VERY REASON, BUT THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I CALLED CHRYSLER TO SEE WHY IT WAS NOT COVERED, BUT THEY SAID SINCE MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED THAT MY REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT THAT THE CHRYSLER RECALL F44 DID NOT INCLUDE ALL THE EFFECTED CARS, SINCE MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AS THOSE CARS IDENTIFIED IN THE RECALL. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING STARTING/STALLING PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE PROBLEMS STARTED WITHIN 9 MONTHS OF MY PURCHASE DATE. EACH TIME THE DEALERSHIP WASN'T ABLE TO RE-CREATE. I HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED BUT I AM STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP AFTER BEING TOWED BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START AND OF COURSE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE LOGGED A COMPLAINT ON THE CARSPACE.COM. I ASKED MY SERVICE MANAGER IF HE WAS AWARE OF THE STARTING/STALLING PROBLEM WITH THE PACIFICA AND HE TOLD ME NO. PLEASE HELP ME. *JB
ON OCT 20,2006 MY THIRD (EMISSION FAILURE) HAS HAPPENED TO MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2004 FWD MODEL (48,535 MILES). THIS MODEL HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST-MOST HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. THE FIRST WAS ENGINE STALLING, WHICH WAS REPAIRED WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE. THE NEXT WAS MY A/C CONTROL/HVAC UNIT WHICH WOULD NOT LIGHT, NOISE FROM BUSHINGS WAS REPLACED. FLICKERING OF DASH LIGHTS TIME TO TIME IS AN ISSUE-THE CURRENT MAJOR PROBLEM IS THAT IT WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS ON THREE OCCASIONS IT HAS FAILED NEXT VISIT WILL BE TO THE DEALER ON OCT 30,2006- NYS INSPECTOR/MECHANIC HAS TOLD ME THAT THE PC IN ALBANY IN NYS MAY NOT READ ALL CODES ALL PLACES SHOW -OXYGEN SENSOR AND CAT SENSOR AS BEING DOWN AND NOT READY ON THE PRINT REPORT-THIRD MECHANIC THINKS IT IS UNDER WARRANTY WHICH SI SHOULD BE AND THAT IT MAY BE THE ECM OR BUS SECTION OF THE MODULE-THIS IS BASED ON A SCAN TEST AND A OBD2 SYSTEM. FAILURES = 3 NYS INSPECTION FAILS -4TH WILL BE AT THE DEALERSHIP-CONSEQUENCES HOPING TO GET IT REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *NM
OUR 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AND BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE SAY THEY CANNOT DO ANY REPAIRS. THE KEY TURNS AND MAKES A SOUND AND SHUTS OFF, SOMETIMES AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT WILL START AND WE HAVE TAKEN IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CANNOT GET ANY COMPUTER READINGS. *NM
POWER LIFTGATE BEGINS FAILING IN COOL WEATHER (APPROX 40 DEGREES F). LIFTGATE WILL FAIL TO LATCH AND WILL DRAIN BATTERY. *JB
I LEASE A 2004 PACIFICA WITH APPROX 30,000 ON THE VEHICLE. SEVERAL WEEKS AGO WHILE DRIVING UP AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY I FELT A FRONT VIBRATION AND SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD THUMP. I IMMEDIATELY EXITED MY CAR TO SEE IF I HAD A FLAT TIRE AND NOTICED THAT WHAT HAD MADE THE NOISE WAS FROM LOSING THE BOTTOM HALF OF MY FRONT BUMPER. I DROVE DIRECTLY TO MY DEALER WHEREBY THE FRONT WAS INSPECTED AND REFERRED TO THE DISTRICT PARTS MANAGER FOR CHRYSLER. I HAVE JUST RECEIVED WORD FROM CHRYSLER THAT THEY, NOR THE DEALER, WILL COVER THIS 'LOST PART' BECAUSE I NEVER RETRIEVED IT FROM THE INTERSTATE WHERE IT WAS LYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND HAD ALREADY BEEN RUN OVER BY AT LEAST ONE OR TWO 18 WHEELER TRUCKS. I FURTHERED WHETHER CHRYSLER EXPECTED ME TO PICK UP THIS LARGE PIECE IN MY BUSINESS ATTIRE OR MORE IMPORTANTLY RISK MY LIFE IN DOING SO BECAUSE IF I HAD RETRIEVED THE PIECE FROM THE HIGHWAY THEN THEY WOULD CONSIDER IT UNDER WARRANTY. I ACTUALLY HAD THE CAR IN FOR A ROUTINE 3000 MILE INSPECTION 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT AND WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTED BY THE MECHANIC. CHRYSLER SAY'S THAT THEY BACK THEIR DEALERS WHICH NATURALLY SOLICITED A RESPONSE FROM ME THAT THEY SHOULD RATHER BACK THEIR CUSTOMERS FIRST. CHRYSLER BROADCASTS AN EXCELLENT BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND OTHER THAN MY FAN BELT FAILING WITHIN TWO MONTHS SINCE TAKING POSSESSION OF THE CAR I HAVE NOT USED THE WARRANTY. *NM

THE HEATER DOESN'T ALWAYS TURN ON, BUT WHEN IT DOES IT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED UNLESS THE POWER TO THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED TWICE WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WITH AN ODOMETER READING OF 58000 MILES. DURING ONE OF THE STALLING INCIDENTS SHE WAS TRYING TO CHANGE LANES, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, SO SHE PULLED OVER ONTO THE MEDIAN WHERE THE CAR TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND RESUME DRIVING. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER STALLING, THE ENGINE WAS EASILY RESTARTED. UPON INSPECTION BY A DEALER, IT WAS DETERMINED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COMPUTER SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL, # 04V113000, REGARDING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.
I AM ONLY THE SECOND OWNER MY 2004 PACIFICA FOR THREE MONTHS AND HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE WITH THIS MANY PROBLEMS. I ONLY DROVE IT TWO WEEKS WHEN I STARTED HEARING A TERRIBLE RATTLING NOISE AROUND THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE. I HAD MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP LOOK AT THE CAR. THEY SAID I NEED TO REPLACE THE ROTORS AND SWAY LINKS. WE REPLACED THOSE HOWEVER THE PROBLEMS WAS NOT FIXED. I TOOK IT BACK AT WHICH NOW IT'S POURING OIL OUT FROM UNDER IT. THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT HOWEVER THEY DO NOT. I TOOK IT BACK A THIRD TIME THEY FINALLY FIXED THE OIL LEAK BUT THE RATTLING AND POPPING IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION IS STILL THERE. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ASSISTED THAT THE TOP AND BOTTOM MOTOR MOUNTS WERE COMPLETELY BROKEN. I REPLACED THOSE AND THEY SEEM TO THINK THE POPPING IS POSSIBLY THE CONTROL ARM OR BUSHINGS. ONLY TWO DAYS AGO THE AIR PRESSURE SENSOR IN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BROKE AND I HAVE AN ENGINE LIGHT ON. THE ENGINE LIGHT READER STATED THE CAR HAD AN EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK. I CAN NOT BELIEVE A CAR THIS NEW COULD HAVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS. I AM VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THIS AUTOMOBILE. I AM IN SHOCK. THE VEHICLE ALSO JERKED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO ADDITIONAL TIMES AND THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS REPLACED THREE ADDITIONAL TIMES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA - AT 31185 MILES THE VEHICLE HAD A CRACKED ROTOR. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE ROTOR IS CLOSE TO DISINTEGRATING, THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINED PER FACTORY SCHEDULE EVERY 3000 MILES AT A 5 STAR CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN A TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE, RISKING THE LIFE OF MY FAMILY. CHRYSLER DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY GOODWILL COVERAGE FOR WHAT IS CLEARLY A SUPPLIER ISSUE. THE ROTOR IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL AREAS BUT IT IS FAR FROM BEING WORN. *JB

MY PACIFICA 2004 MODEL ENGINE JUST STALLED WHEN I TURNED INTO MY COMPANY'S PARKING LOT. THEN, I COULD NO LONGER STEER AND LOST CONTROL OF MY STEERING WHEEL. MY FRIENDS AT WORK DROVE RIGHT BEHIND ME AND JUST PASSED BY ALMOST HITTING ME LIKE A "SANDWICH." THEN, I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS ENOUGH FUEL IN THE TANK; I SAW ABOUT 3/4 LEFT ON THE FUEL GAUGE. SO, I RE-STARTED THE ENGINE AND PARKED MY CAR SAFELY IN THE ASSIGNED LOT. I NOTICED FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE FUEL GAUGE WENT FROM 3/4 LEVEL TO THE "FULL TANK" LEVEL AND STAYED THERE THE ENTIRE TIME. WHEN I DID RE-START THE ENGINE, AFTER 8 HOURS JUST TO GO HOME, I NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE WAS STILL FULL. IT WAS VERY FUNNY AND STARTED TO DROP DOWN TO 3/4 AGAIN!! RIGHT AFTER THAT, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO LET THE ENGINE WARM UP, AS I ALWAYS DO, MY ENGINE COULD NOT HOLD ITS RPM TO KEEP RUNNING AND KEPT STALLING AGAIN REPEATEDLY. HOW DID I GO HOME THAT NIGHT? I RE-STARTED THE ENGINE AND TRIED TO HOLD ON THE GAS PEDAL FOR ABOUT 50-65 SECONDS BY WATCHING THE CLOCK IN MY CAR, THEN I HEARD A CLICKING SOUND FROM INSIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, E.G. AIR-CONDITION WORKING, OR IDLE TIMING, OR SOMETHING. BUT, I STILL KEPT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL UNTIL 100-110 SECONDS AND TOOK MY FOOT OF THE GAS PEDAL. THE ENGINE DID NOT STALL ANYMORE, SO, I LUCKILY COULD DRIVE HOME IN THE NIGHT. WHEN I ARRIVED AT HOME, I STOPPED THE ENGINE AND RE-STARTED AGAIN, MANY TIMES. THE ENGINE WAS PERFECTLY NORMAL AS I HAD BEEN DRIVING THEM FOR 2.5 YEARS, LIKE NOTHING EVER HAD HAPPENED. SO, I DID SOME INVESTIGATING AND VISITED SEVERAL CAR WEBSITES. SOME OF THEM SUGGESTED I FILE A COMPLAINT TO NHTSA FOR THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE OTHER PACIFICA OWNERS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. AND, I JUST DID BECAUSE THIS PROBLEM IS VERY DETRIMENTAL SERIOUS AND CAN EASILY CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGES TO LIFE AND PROPERTY OF ANYONE INSIDE THE VEHICLES. *JB

AT MY 3 YEAR NY STATE INSPECTION (30K MILES+/-) WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE TIE RODS WOULD NOT PASS SAFETY INSPECTION. WE LUCKILY HAD 1 MONTH LEFT ON THE WARRANTY & CHYRSLER REPLACED THE ONE SIDE IN QUESTION, BUT WOULD DO NOTHING ON THE OTHER SIDE.
WHILE I AM DRIVING AND IF MY AIR CONDITIONER IS ON THERE IS A DRAMATIC LOSS OF POWER TO THE ENGINE, IF I AM AT A STOP LIGHT AND HAVE TO CLIMB A HILL FROM A COMPLETE STOP I IN MOST CASES HAVE TO TURN THE POWER TO MY AIR OFF SO THE ENGINE WILL INCREASE ITS POWER AND I CAN CLIMB THE HILL. IF I DO NOT TURN THE AIR OFF THE RPMS RACE UP REALLY HIGH AND I AM ONLY GOING MAYBE 20 MILES PER HOUR AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT AND THE ENGINE IS ROARING. SO ONCE TO THE TOP OF THE HILL IT FINALLY SHIFTS BUT EXTREMELY HARD AS THOUGH SOMETHING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE JUST BROKE.. ANOTHER THING THAT HAPPENS IS ALSO A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND HOW HARD IT HITS WHEN IT SHIFTS, IT HAS ALWAYS SEEMED LIKE IT WAS NOT FLUID AND EASY AS IT SHOULD BE. ALMOST AS THOUGH IT IS DIFFICULT FOR IT, ESPECIALLY COMING DOWN FROM ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR AND LOWER DOWN INTO THE SECOND TO 1ST GEARS. IT WORRIES ME THAT A VEHICLE IN ITS PRICE RANGE AND CONSIDERING WHAT I PAID FOR IT THAT IT SHOULD BE MORE OF A JOY AND COMFORT FOR ME TO OWN AND DRIVE THAN IT IS. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE DAY THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO COMPLETELY STOP SHIFTING SINCE IT IS SUCH A STRUGGLE FOR IT TO DO SO... I COULD HAVE KILLED PEOPLE MANY TIMES WITH THE PACIFICA SINCE IT IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO DRIVE. I FOUND OUT THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE STALLINGS. DURING ONE INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING 65 MPH. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART NOR WOULD THE TRANSMISSION REENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERS WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A TSB REGARDING THE FUEL GAUGE. TWO MODULES WERE REPLACED IN THE FUEL TANK. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE DEALERS THAT THE MODULES REPLACED WAS FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE TYPE BUT WAS OKAY TO USE ON THE VEHICLE TO WHICH THE PART WAS INSTALLED. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT PART, THE ENGINE STALLING CONTINUED WHILE CRUISING AND THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DROP DOWN TO LOW FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERS WHO REPLACED FUEL PUMP MODULE HOWEVER THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
