TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE RUST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,725. UPDATED 01/24/2017*CT *CN
ENGINE CRADLE OR K-FRAME RUSTED TO THE POINT OF THE VEHICLE NOT BEING SAFE TO DRIVE. HAD TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO CONTINUE TO USE THE VEHICLE
RUSTED FRAME. SO BAD ENGINE MAY FALL OUT. UNABLE TO DRIVE.
DEALER IS SAYING THE ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTING OUT AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS ALMOST NO RUST ON THE VEHICLE YET THIS IMPORTANT PART OF THE FRAME IS RUSTING OUT?
MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT MY CAR HAS CRADLE ROT, SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. I WENT HOME DID MY RESEARCH JUST TO FIND OUT THAT THIS A COMMON PROBLEM. CHYRSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, THEY USED SUBSTANDARD MATERIAL TO CREATE THE MAIN FRAME THAT SUPPORTS THE ENGINE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DRIVING A TIME BOMB. HOW DO I GET MY CAR FIXED?
SUB FRAME. HOLDING IN THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION RUSTING OUT. NOT COATED PROPERLY WHEN BUILT. DISCOVERED WHILE DOING OIL CHANGE.
WE HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING EDITION WITH 69005 MILES. BEAUTIFUL AUTOMOBILE, WE STORE IT IN THE WINTER, NO RUST ANYWHERE ON THE BODY. WE BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND NYS INSPECTION. THE DEALER INFORMED US THAT THE FRONT AND REAR CRADLE OF THE FRAME HAD RUSTED AND DETERIORATED SO BADLY THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PASS NYS INSPECTION AND WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS $4626.00. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT STATED THAT CHRYSLER WAS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON THE PACIFICA TO VEHICLES IN THE CANADIAN MARKET AND SALT BELT STATES TO 150,000 MILES BUT FOR REASONS THAT THEY WOULD NOT EXPLAIN, MY VEHICLE WAS COVERED EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN UPSTATE NY, AN OBVIOUS SALT BELT STATE. THIS IS CLEARLY A LATENT DEFECT IN THIS MODEL RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER.
WHEN I TOOK OUR 2005 PACIFICA IN FOR ITS ANNUAL VA STATE INSPECTION ON NOVEMBER 1, 2016 IT DID NOT PASS. THE PRIMARY CAUSE FOR FAILURE WAS THE DISCOVERY OF SUBSTANTIAL RUSTING OF THE "SUB K FRAME." IT WAS RUSTED THROUGH ON THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE OF THE FRAME. I WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR AS THE ENGINE COULD FALL AND DROP OUT OF ITS CRADLE! THE RUSTING WAS NOT VISIBLE 6 MONTHS AGO WHEN THE CAR WAS LAST HOISTED IN THE AIR FOR AN OIL CHANGE, SO I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT IT RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. THE MECHANICS STATED THEY HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH RUSTING, AND THEY WERE SURPRISED TO SEE IT ON A CAR THAT WAS OTHERWISE WELL MAINTAINED AND IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION FOR A CAR WITH ALMOST 175,000 MILES. I LIVE IN THE NORTHERN NECK AREA OF VA WHICH IS NOT AN AREA OF SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OR AN AREA WHERE THERE IS A HEAVY APPLICATION OF SALT ON THE ROADS DURING THE WINTER. I HAVE 2 OTHER CARS - A 2003 DODGE RAM 1500 4X4 CREW CAB AND A 2002 TOYOTA CAMRY, NEITHER OF WHICH DEMONSTRATE ANY SIGNS OF RUSTING OF THE FRAME.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR NEW TIRES AND AN ALIGNMENT AND WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT I HAVE RUST ROT IN THE SUBFRAME. WHICH NOW I KNOW IS CALLED CRADLE ROT. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS FRACTURED AND HAD SEVERE RUST. THE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000. UPDATED 01/05/16*LJ UPDATED 02/14/17.*JB
AT THE SERVICE DEALER TODAY I WAS TOLD THAT MY ENGINE CARRIAGE FRAME IS SO RUSTED THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE SIDES ARE ALSO SEVERELY RUSTED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW AND HAVE SERVICED IT EVERY 3000 MILES. I GO THROUGH THE CAR WASH IN THE WINTER ALOT. I LEARNED THAT CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM EARLY ON. WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS, SO MY CAR COULD HAVE BEEN UNDER COATED ( WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE AS SOON AS THE PROBLEM WAS NOTICED) AND I COULD STILL BE DRIVING IT. I AM 71 AND ON SS, AND PLANNED ON THIS BEING MY LAST CAR. NOW, IT CAN'T BE FIXED AND I COULDN'T WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE TRADE OR SELL IT. WOULDN'T WANT A FAMILY WITH KIDS IN THE CAR, GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAVE THE ENGINE FALL OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. MY CAR LOOKS LIKE BRAND NEW INSIDE AND OUT. I METICULOUSLY TOOK CARE OF IT. AT 153,000 MILES, I THINK IT IS JUST GETTING BROKE IN, ONLY TO FIND THAT UNDERSIDE IS BROKE, RUSTED, DONE! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED VERY HARD SHIFTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER WHO DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED ALMOST ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND ENGINE CAN FALL OUT.
I TOOK MY CAR INTO TO HAVE A SUSPENSION CHECK O REPLACED THE STRURSS WHEN MY MECHANIC CALLED ME AND TOLD MY THAT THE FRAME OR ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT. HE TOOK SOME PICTURES AND THERE ARE HOLES IN THE CRADLE. HE ADVISED ME NOT TO PUT ANYMORE MONEY INTO THIS CAR.
MY ENGINE IS ABOUT TO FALL THROUGH THE SUV BECAUSE OF RUST AND AFTER READING UP ON THIS...THIS ISN'T THE FIRST CASE OF THIS HAPPENING AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HASN'T BEEN RECALLED!!!
JUST GOT NEW TIRES NO MENTION, THEY USED FLOOR JACKS. GETTING NEW FRONT STRUTS AND REAR WHEEL SPINDLES (GETTING READY FOR WINTER) AND MY MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE CRADLE ROT AND SAID HE WOULDN'T TOUCH IT AND EXPLAINED THE SAFETY ISSUES RELATED. COST POTENTIALLY ASSOCIATED WITH REPAIR. COST TO REPAIR IS MORE THAN THE VEHICLE IS WORTH.
DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, MY NEW MECHANIC SHOWED ME CORROSION ON MY ENGINE CRADLE AND DECLARED IT UNFIT FOR TRAVEL. HE SHARED THAT WHILE CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, THEY ARE NOT SUPPORTING THE REPAIRS, OF WHICH, WILL COST ME $4500, OUT OF POCKET. WITHOUT SAID SUPPORT, I WILL UNFORTUNATELY NEED TO WALK AWAY FROM THIS CAR. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED, MY PREVIOUS MECHANIC WAS A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THIS WAS NEVER BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION AS A CONCERN, INCLUDING WHEN I REPORTED KNOCKING COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF MY VEHICLE AND WAS SEEKING A SOLUTION.
HAD MY 2005 PACIFICA IN THE SHOP TO REPLACE THE MUFFLER WHEN THEY GOT IT UP ON THE RACK THEY FOUND THE ENGINE CRADLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR WAS SO ROTTED THEY ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE IT. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ESTIMATED THE COST FOR REPAIR AT $3700. CHRYSLER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND ADVISED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT HELP FINANCIALLY WITH ANY REPAIR COSTS. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO ISSUE A RECALL? PEOPLE DYING? DO YOUR JOB NHTSA. RECALL THESE CARS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT!
ENGINE CRADLE IS BADLY RUSTED THROUGH AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF $2,600 ESTIMATE FROM MECHANIC.
DEALERSHIP INFORMWD ME AFTER MY 100,000 MILE WARRANTY WAS UP AND PAYING THEM 2000 DOLLARS TO REPAIR OTHER THINGS THAT THE ENGINE CRADEL WAS RUSTED AND WAS DANGEROUS. THEY LET ME DRIVE OFF THE LOT AND I HAVE BEEN BACK FOR OTHER REPAIRS AND THE RUST IS GETTING WORSE. CHRYSLER TOLD ME THERE WAS ONLY A FEW MONTH PERIOD THAT THEY WOULD WARRANTY THIS PROBLEM. WHAT CAN I DO SINCE I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND SHUTTERED. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE CODES INDICATED THAT THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THE FUEL PUMP DELIVERY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
CRADLE ROT ON THE UNDER CARRIAGE
FRONT SUBFRAME ,ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED SO SEVERELY THAT MY MECHANIC SAID THAT IT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE, MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROX $2000.00 CAR WAS PURCHASED BY ME NEW IN 2005 AND GARAGE KEPT ONLY 107,000 MILES
DURING A MECHANICAL EVALUATION FOR A CLUNKING NOISE AND POSSIBLE WHEEL BEARING PROBLEM IN THE FRONT END, THE VEHICLE WAS RAISED ON A LIFT FOR INSPECTION. THE ENGINE SUB-FRAME WAS FOUND TO BE BADLY RUSTED WITH HOLES COMPLETELY THROUGH THE METAL. THE CLUNKING NOISE WAS SUSPECTED TO BE THE ROTTING SUB-FRAME FLEXING WHILE STEERING AND ACCELERATION/DECELERATION. THE MECHANIC DECLINED TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS AND I WAS ADVISED TO PARK THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE SUB-FRAME COULD BE REPLACED. I WAS ALSO ADVISED TO CALL CHRYSLER SINCE A RECALL WAS ISSUED ON A PORTION OF THESE VEHICLES. MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN MANUFACTURED AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME, WAS PURCHASED IN WESTERN PA AND OPERATED IN THE "SALT BELT". WE'VE ENJOYED OWNING THIS CAR AND MY WIFE WANTED TO RETIRE THE CAR TO OUR HOME IN FLORIDA. SHE HAD JUST DRIVEN THE CAR FROM INDIANA TO FLORIDA ON THE INTERSTATE TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO DISCOVERING THIS SUB-FRAME PROBLEM...THE THOUGHT OF THAT MAKES ME CRINGE. THROUGH NO NEGLIGENCE ON MY PART, I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE AND THE COST OF REPAIR WILL LIKELY EXCEED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE..

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REGULAR SERVICE AND THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE ENGINE CRADLE WAS ROTTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000. WE FOUND THAT OUR CAR HAD A LEAK, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A HOLE IN THE WATER PUMP. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALSO TOLD US THAT THE SUBFRAME IS ROTTING OUT AND WE SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER LOOKING FOR A NEW VEHICLE AS THIS COULD BECOME A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM OUT ON THE ROAD.
TAKATA RECALL I RECENTLY TOOK A LOAN OUT AND PURCHASED A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FROM A DEALER NEARBY. WHEN MY MECHANIC LOOKED AT IT HE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE DEALERSHIP PASSED THE SAFETY INSPECTION A MONTH AGO. HE SAID THE RUST WAS SPREAD ALL ACROSS FRONT ENGINE CRADLE OR THE VEHICLE. HE DID NOT THINK I SHOULD BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE ENGINE COULD DROP OUT DUE TO THE RUST. LOOKING UP ANY SAFETY RECALLS AND NOTICED THERE WERE NONE. ONLY A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT STATES CHRYSLER WILL ONLY FIX THE PROBLEM IF YOU ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE SALT STATES AND THE VEHICLE IS WITHIN THE 10 YEAR OR 150,000 MILES. I AM 6 MONTHS PAST THE 10 YEAR WITH ONLY 105,000 AND LOCATED IN A SALT STATE. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE JUST OVER 30 DAYS AGO SO THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. CHRYSLER SHOULD REALLY MAKE GOOD ON FIXING THIS MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD IF THEY WANT BUYERS TO TRUST THEIR PRODUCT. I AM NOW PAYING A LOAN ON A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!
MY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN AVERAGE MILES ON IT AND THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS ROTTED SO BADLY THAT OUR MECHANIC SAID IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE , THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT COAT THIS PART PROPERLY WHICH CAUSED THIS PROBLEM

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INNER CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000. UPDATED 09/29/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED NEWER MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME FAILURE. UPDATED 10/19/2017*JS
RECEIVED NOTICE ON OUR ANNUAL INSPECTION FROM GARAGE THAT UNDERBODY ALL RUSTING OUT, SPECIFICALLY LEFT FRONT FRAME RAIL. CHRYSLER ONLY DOING A "SILENT RECALL" FOR THIS VEHICLE IF BUILT BETWEEN FEBRUARY - MARCH 2005. OURS BUILT OCTOBER. NOT ELIGIBLE. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN INFORMED OF THIS RUST/CORROSION PROBLEM BY CHRYSLER.
WHEN CHANGING THE FRONT STRUTS FOUND THAT THE CRADLE IS RUSTED THROUGH IN SEVERAL SPOTS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL IT CAN BE REPAIRED. AT THIS TIME I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH OR IF IT CAN EVEN BE REPAIRED. AT THIS TIME UNABLE TO UPLOAD PHOTOS AS THEY ARE ON SOMEONE ELSE'S PHONE, NOT ON COMPUTER. WILL PROVIDE IF NEED BE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE ENGINE OIL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V32000 (POWER TRAIN) BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 208,404.
WE HAD BEEN ON A ROAD TRIP AND WERE DRIVING HOME. WE WERE MAKING A STOP TO GET GAS AND SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE ENGINE AREA. WE SMELT SOMETHING BURNING AND FOUND THAT THE FIREWALL INSULATION HAD FALLEN DOWN ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND BEGAN TO BURN. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE INSULATION PULL OUT AND AWAY FROM THE CONVERTER BEFORE IT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. IF WE HAD NOT STOPPED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A FIRE AND DESTROYED THE VEHICLE. WE CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THE PART WAS OBSOLETE AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR US AND ALSO STATED THAT THE CAR WAS FINE AND COULD STILL BE DRIVEN. THE INSULATION IS THERE FOR A REASON AND THIS WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE FROM CHRYSLER. WE HAVE STILL BEEN TRYING TO GET RESOLUTION FROM CHRYSLER AND ALSO CALLED THEIR CARE CENTER AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME RESPONSE THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. AND PROVIDED A PHONE NUMBER FOR A DEALERSHIP THAT DEALS WITH MOPAR PARTS. AGAIN WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WAS OBSOLETE AND NOT AVAILABLE.
THE ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTING OUT CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. THE REST OF THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE
I BROUGHT MY CART TO MY MECHANIC FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE AND WHEN MY MECHANIC PUT IT ON THE LIFT, HE CALLED US SHORTLY AFTER, AND WANTED US TO COME IN TO SEE THE VEHICLE ON THE LIFT.. THE CAR'S FRAME WAS RUSTING THROUGH ON BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK. HE TOLD US IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT HE SAW THIS ON OTHER PACIFICA'S HE SERVICED. HE STATED HE NEVER SAW THIS OCCUR ON OTHER BRANDS NOW WE HAVE NO VEHICLE TO DRIVE. THE CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND HAS ABOUT 85,000 MILES. IF THIS CAR WAS DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY, AS WE PLANNED FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND (JULY 4) WITHOUT BRINGING IT TO A MECHANIC, WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. HOW DOES SAFETY OF PASSENGERS GET COMPROMISED WHEN IT APPEARS THAT 7000 CARS WERE PRODUCED AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM ON THIS MODEL HAVE BEEN FILED!.
RUSTED ENGINE CRADLE
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2011 ALL I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR IS PROBLEMS AFTER PROBLEMS. FIRST I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING IT WAS SOMETHING ELECTRICAL THEN NOW MY SUB FRAME IS NO GOOD IT IS ROTTED OUT RUST ALL OVER THE SUB FRAME AND I HAVE TWO LITTLE GIRLS IN MY CAR ALL THE TIME AND TO TOP IT OFF I'M STILL PAYING ON THIS CAR TO THE BANK WHAT DO I DO NOT. I NEED SOMEONES HELP THIS IS TO MUCH MONEY FOR ONE PERSON TO PAY WHEN THIS WAS NOT MY DOING IT WAS THE CAR MAKERS DOING.
THE CAR WILL JUST GO FROM HALF OF A TANK TO E. MY HUSBAND AND SON WERE STRANDED, BECAUSE WHEN THEY LEFT THE HOUSE IT WAS AT A HALF AND THEN DROPPED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO E, CAR STOPPED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I AM VERY UPSET. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE CAR LOT AT LEAST 5 TIMES, THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED X 2, THEN THEY CHANGED THE FUEL SENSOR. THE CAR HAS NEVER STOPPED DROPPING DOWN TO E. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING, CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL THESE CARS. PLZ HELP ME AND THOUSAND MORE THNX AND GOD BLESS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING AN OIL CHANGE, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
I BOUGHT A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN MAY OF 2016. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A GARAGE DUE TO A CLUNKING SOUND IN THE FRONT END IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED THROUGH ON BOTH SIDES. MANY AREAS UNDER THE CAR ARE VERY BADLY RUSTED LIKE A CAR THREE TIMES AS OLD.
TOOK THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE TECHNICIAN BROUGHT THIS TO OUR ATTENTION AND WOULD NOT PERFORM THE OIL CHANGE BECAUSE HE DID NOT FEEL SAFE. NOW I HAVE TO FIND SOME WAY TO COME UP WITH $3000 ‐ 5000 TO REPAIR. I STILL OWE $7000 ON IT. MY WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN RIDE IN THIS ON A DAILY BASIS AND NOW THE ENGINE COULD JUST DROP OUT OF IT.

RESEARCH SHOWS CHRYSLER AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINT/CLASS ACTIONS FILED. STATES CHRYSLER MISSED STEP AND DID NOT COAT ENGINE CRADLE ALLOWING SEVERE RUST DAMAGE. ESTIMATE $3181.85 AND I WANT CHRYSLER TO COVER CHARGES TO FIX. INFO FOUND SAYS CHRYSLER ONLY AGREED TO FIX CARS BUILT DURING 2/23/04 - 3/31/04. CAN YOU ASSIST IN GETTING CHRYSTER TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE?
WHILE HAVING MY BRAKES DONE, THE MECHANIC INFORMS ME THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE/CROSS BRACE IS NEARLY RUSTED THROUGH AND THAT THE ENGINE MAY FALL OUT AT ANY MOMENT. THERE IS ONLY A SINGLE BOLT HOLDING THE ENGINE IN. I DON'T YET HAVE PICTURES TO UPLOAD. NO RECALL WARNING WAS EVER RECEIVED AND I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 8 YEARS.

HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO AVOID DEATH OR INJURY. TODAY WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY, ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON & WE ENDED UP STRANDED DUE TO WEIRD ELECTRICAL FAILURE WHERE WE CAN'T EVEN GET CAR OUT OF PARK. PASSENGER HEADLAMP HAS GONE OUT SEVERAL TIMES, NOW DRIVE FOG LAMP OUT. THERE APPEARS TO BE MANY MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL FAILURES WITH THIS CAR. IT'S TRULY HORRIFYING HOW POORLY ENGINEERED AND DANGEROUS THESE CARS ARE & I'M FORCED TO DRIVE THIS WAGON WITH MY FAMILY AS WE CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE IT. WOULD LIKE TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER FOR ENDANGERING THE PUBLIC WITH THEIR DANGEROUS CARS. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO DIE BEFORE ALL THESE PACIFICA'S ARE RECALLED AND REPURCHASED BY CHRYSLER FOR BOOK VALUE?

ENGINE AND UNDERCARRIAGE ROT ,82000. CAR ENGINE WORKS ,BUT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE
GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATES TO EMPTY WITH LIGHT AND CHIME ANNOUNCING NO GAS, BUT THERE IS A THREE QUARTER TANK FULL OF GAS. THE ENGINE TURNS OFF AND STEERING LOCKS WITHOUT POWER. USED CAR PURCHASED YESTERDAY AND WE WERE STRANDED UNTIL WE FILLED THE TANK WITH THREE GALLONS THE CAR WAS IN MOTION THE FIRST TIME IT STALLED. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT. THE THIRD TIME WAS IN A PARKING LOT. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF THAN BACK ON IT RESUMED . WE WERE HEADING IN A STRAIGHT DIRECTIONS.
RUSTED ENGINE CRADLE,FRAME IS IN BAD SHAPE AND CAN BRAKE LEADING ENGINE TO FALL OUT FROM VEHICLE.THIS MAY LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT.
MY DAUGHTERS 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING EDITION DOESN'T LOOK BAD PHYSICALLY AND RUNS WELL BUT AFTER ROUTINE TIRE ROTATION WE WERE TOLD AND SHOW THAT THE CROSS MEMBER OR SUBFRAME ENGINE CRADLE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE WERE TOLD BY CHRYSLER EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY FOR THOSE MADE 2-23 TO 3-31-14 SO CAN'T ASSIST. THIS IS A GOOD CAR BUT NOW UNSAFE AND WE DON'T HAVE A TON OF $ TO SINK INTO AN OLDER CAR.
