TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING (N/A). THE HORN WOULD SUDDENLY SOUND OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF; THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY REPLACED THE HORN BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.
ON MY 05 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY HEAD LIGHTS SOMETIMES WONT COME ON, THE PARKING LIGHTS WILL, I HAVE TO TURN THEM ON AND OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES, AND ON JUST THE OTHER NIGHT WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THEY TURNED THEMSELVES OFF WHILE IT WAS DARK AND ABOUT HAD A WRECK, SO I WOULD THINK THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NEEDS A RECALL, AND WHILE IM ON HERE ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO I WAS REPLACING THE BRAKES ON THE SAME VAN, AND WHILE HAND TORQUING THE WHEEL LUG NUTS BY HAND I HAD 11 WHEEL STUDS JUST TWIST OFF, AND WAS DONE BY HAND, NO AIR TOOL WAS USED IN THIS, I HAVE CHANGED MANY BRAKES ON CARS AND NEVER HAVE I HAD AND WHEEL STUDS JUST TWIST OFF BY HAND. WITH THESE 2 THINGS I SACRED TO DRIVE IT NOW, WITH MY 2 KIDS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH SHE HAD DIFFICULTY STEERING. THE STEERING COLUMN ALSO TURNED UPSIDE DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AT FIRST, BUT THEN BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORST OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. ALTHOUGH SHE EXPERIENCED AN IDENTICAL FAILURE, HER VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM RECALL NUMBER 04V579000 (STEERING:LINKAGES:KNUCKLE:SPINDLE:ARM). THE "AIR BAG" WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. HER ELBOW STRUCK THE GEAR SHIFTER AND PLACED IT IN REVERSE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE MOVED FORWARD AND STRUCK A HOUSE AND A PORCH. THE CONTACT ENTERED HER VEHICLE AND DROVE TO HER RESIDENCE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FRONT FENDER AND THE TOP OF THE HOOD WERE DAMAGED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL BE NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 85,744.
TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THE HORN ENGAGED ON ITS OWN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN OPERATION. THE LOUD NOISE SOUNDED FOR A PERIOD OF 45 SECONDS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPONTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCURR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
SAFETY HAZARD OF DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE HORN GOES OFF SCARING THE DRIVER NEXT TO YOU WHO COULD THEN RUN INTO YOU OR RUN YOU OFF THE ROAD OR THEY COULD RUN OFF THE ROAD THEMSELVES. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN BUT I AM WORRIED IT COULD...NOT ONLY WITH MY VEHICLE BUT ANYONE ELSE DRIVING ONE OF THESE SEBRINGS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT MOST OF THE REPAIR WORK WAS MOSTLY COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE THEY FOUND ENGINE SLUDGE. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $1,600. WHEN THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT DRIVE MORE THAN TEN MINUTES WITHOUT OVERHEATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE WAS DESTROYED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE CONTACT IS AWAITING FEEDBACK. THE MANUFACTURER ASKED HER FOR OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,842 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,837.
HAD A MAJOR OIL LEAK. THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A CRACKED OIL FILTER. TOOK IT IN TO LOCAL SHOP AND FOUND OUT IT WAS A FAILURE IN THE CRANK CASE SEAL. THEY SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN THE ENGINE. THEY SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY AN UNACCEPTABLE VARIANCE IN THE DRIVE SHAFT CAUSING EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE SEAL. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT AND WE CHANGE THE OIL REGULARLY. THE SHOP CHECKED AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHER LIKE PROBLEMS WITH THE SEBRING OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS IN IDENTIFIX.COM. THIS COST ME $675.00 AND ONLY FIXED THE OIL LEAK. THE MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT ISN'T FIXED. THE VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENTS TO CAUSE ANY INTERNAL PROBLEMS THAT ARE MY FAULT. I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD HELP WITH THESE COSTS TO THE OWNERS THAT HAVE INCURRED THESE EXCESSIVE COSTS. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING I HAVE OWNED FOR 2 YEARS NOW IN 2008 I WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND A THUD I GOT OUT AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR STRUT MOUNT SHATTERED AND THE STRUT WAS LOOSE SO I DROVE IT HOME AND CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID THERE IS A BACK ORDER ON THEM DUE TO THE CONSTANT FAILURE OF THESE SO I WAS ABLE TO GET 2 FROM THEIR PARTNER DEALERSHIP SOMEONE INSTEAD OF FIXING THEIR CAR THEY TRADED IT IN ER SOMETHING TO THAT IS WHAT I WAS TOLD SO I PUT THEM ON, NOW ITS 2009 DEC 23RD I CHANGED THE REAR STRUTS AND FRONT DUE TO THE CAR HAVING 171,000 MILES ON THEM I TOOK THE GOOD MOUNTS OFF THAT I HAD JUST PURCHASED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO AND THEY ARE SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR ALSO BUT I THREW THEM ON SINCE THEY WAS BETTER THEN THE ONES I JUST BOUGHT WITH THE NEW STRUTS FROM A JUNK YARD I WOULD LIKE YOU GUYS TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER ITS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS DATING BACK TO 1999 OR 2000 ITS ALL OVER THE INTERNET WHEN THEY FIRST SHATTERED I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS MATTER AND GOT HUNG UP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN I TOLD THEM THE ISSUE IS ALL OVER THE NET ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM I DO HAVE OLD PARTS THAT WAS REPLACED IN 2008 AND THE ONES OFF OF THE USED STRUTS THAT I JUST PURCHASED I HAVE ALOT OF FRIENDS THAT HAVE A SEBRING OR HAVE HAD ONE AND THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES IF IT WASN'T A ISSUE WHY WAS THE STRUT MOUNTS IN 2008-2009 ALWAYS ON BACK ORDER AND DEALERSHIPS COULD ONLY GET A LIMITED # OF THEM PER MONTH DUE TO THE PROBLEM. *TR
I'VE BEEN A CHRSYLER PERSON ALL MY LIFE. ONE DAY ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO I NOTICED MY TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, IT STUCK IN LOW GEAR AND AFTER I GAVE THE VEHICLE MORE AND MORE GAS IT THEN FINALLY SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR. AFTER PARKING ON A SLIGHT GRADE ON A HILL SOMETHING WITH MY FLUID LEVEL WAS NOT PROPER. I CHECKED MY FLUID AND ALL WAS GOOD. I HAVE A ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN MECHANICS. SO, AFTER ANOTHER WEEK WENT BY MY TRANSMISSION AGAIN WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY AFTER LEAVING WORK ON DAY. THIS TIME I WAS PARKED ON A LEVEL PARKING LOT. IT DONE THIS A COUPLE TIME BEFORE SENDING TO GET LOOKED AT. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT IT AT THIS POINT. I ADVISED THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING WEIRD AND IT DIDN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME. SO THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, ROAD TESTED AND WAS ADVISED NOTING WAS WRONG WITH IT. I ADVISED THEM THAT WHY WOULD I BRING MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE IF THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. AGAIN I ADVISED IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME AND I ALSO ASKED IF THEY HAD ANY SERVICE PROBLEMS WITH THAT TRANSMISSION? SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED ME- THEY HAD A FEW ISSUES. BUT UNTIL THEY COME UP WITH A DIAGNOSTIC PROBLEM THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY DID ADVISE ME TO CHANGE MY TRANNY OIL ALSO AT THAT TIME. I ONLY HAD 49,000 ON MY CAR AT THAT TIME. I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THIS SHIFTING PROBLEM TO THIS DATE. I HOPE NHTSA COULD HELP IN THIS MANNER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE VEHICLE HAS GOODYEAR EAGLE LS TIRES, SIZE P205\60\R16 (NA). THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE AND DAMAGED ONE OF THE WHEELS. HE INSTALLED A SPARE TIRE ON THE VEHICLE, WHICH HAS BEEN IN USE FOR SIX MONTHS. HE IS WAITING FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO PROVIDE THE ORIGINAL TIRE FOR THE VEHICLE, BUT IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THE CONTACT HAS HAD TO REFILL THE TIRES EVERY WEEK WITH AIR. THE DOT NUMBER FOR EACH TIRE WAS (MGXV)(HMIR)(4604). THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING. ON DECEMBER 1, 2007, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH THAT CAUSED THE WHEEL TO FRACTURE. SINCE THAT TIME, HE HAS BEEN USING THE TEMPORARY SPARE TIRE, BUT THE TREAD HAS BECOME BARE. HE BELIEVES THAT THE TIRE WILL BE WORN TO THE TREAD IN APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS. THE PART FOR THE REPAIR HAS BEEN UNAVAILABLE AND HE CANNOT GET A TIMEFRAME FROM THE MANUFACTURER AS TO WHEN IT WILL ARRIVE OR ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS ALSO LEAK AND HE HAS TO PLACE AIR IN THEM EACH WEEK. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,975 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING HOOD OPENED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AND SMASHED AGAINST HER WINDSHIELD. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED BACK IN JULY SHE COULD NOT GET THE HOOD TO OPEN. (OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT)*JB
AS I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN THE CAR DID A QUICK SHUDDER. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE FOR MAYBE 500 FEET WHEN THE CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER AND THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. I KNEW I WAS LOW ON GAS ,BUT THE FUEL LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON YET. THE GAUGE WAS SHOWING LESS THAN A QUARTER TANK BUT WAS STILL ABOVE THE BOTTOM LINES. (IN FACT, I WAS ON MY LINE TO FILL UP WHEN THIS HAPPENED.) LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE BUSY ROAD. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DISCOVERED IT HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL . THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. *TR UPDATED 10/11/07. *JB
I PURCHASED A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING IN 2006 WITH APPROX. 25K MILES ON IT, 1 YR. LATER IT STARTED LEAKING OIL BADLY. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FRONT SEAL ON THE CRANKSHAFT WAS PUSHED OUT. THE GARAGE THROUGH THERE RESOURCES FOUND FOUND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE 4 CYL. THAT CHRYSLER KNEW ABOUT AND EVEN KNEW THE SERIAL NUMBERS OF THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF THE DEFECT THAT HAD BEEN MACHINED IN THERE ENGINE BLOCKS. THIS DEFECT ALLOWS THE CRANKSHAFT TO FLOAT BACK AND FORTH LENGTH WISE AND PUSH THE SEAL OUT. THEY HAVE NOT DONE A RECALL FOR THIS AND REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE FIX FOR THIS DEFECT IS A NEW SHORT BLOCK THAT IS OVER $4K TO BE DONE. THE OIL LEAKS SO BAD THAT IT SOAKS THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND REAR OF THE CAR AND COULD CAUSE A FIRE BY THE EXHAUST BEING COVERED WITH OIL. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS ON BEHALF OF MY FATHER. ROBERT MULCAHY SR. HE OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING (TOURING) AUTO. I DON'T HAVE THE VIN NUMBER, BUT COULD GET IT. HE WAS JUST INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT HAD HIM IMPACTING ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH THE FRONT OF HIS CAR AT OR AROUND 35-40 MPH. WE BOTH FIND IT INCREDIBLE THAT NEITHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER. SHE STATED THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS THE FUEL PUMP. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR A MONTH. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 45,000.
I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING THAT I PURCHASED USED. AROUND THE END OF MARCH OF THIS YEAR THE HORN STARTED BLOWING INTERMITTENTLY. I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING. ON APRIL 8, 2007 MY HORN STARTED GOING OFF AGAIN. THIS CONTINUED FOR THAT ENTIRE WEEK THE HORN WOULD BLOW EVEN DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT DISTURBING MYSELF AND MY NEIGHBORS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THE HORN PAD AND AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $730. AFTER LETTING MY CAR SIT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A WEEK I HAD TO CALL CHRYSLER MYSELF TO FIND OUT THAT THE PART WAS BACKORDERED. HAD I NOT CALLED, I NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. DUE TO SUCH A LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I TOOK MY CAR BACK. I EMAILED CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A DEFECTIVE HORN AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. THEIR RESPONSE WAS OF NO HELP AT ALL. I AM ALSO GETTING THE BRAKES DONE FREQUENTLY, AND NOW MY DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IS STUCK IT WILL NOT ROLL UP. I HAVE GONE ONTO THE CHRYSLER WEBSITE AND ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER FOR A RECALL SEARCH BUT THEY FIND NOTHING. I STILL FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. A TWO YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS MANY ISSUES.

I HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH MY CAR AND IT'S PERFORMANCE, TILL ONE DAY ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO I NOTICED THE RPM'S RUNNING A BIT TOO HIGH AT 65 MPH. I TURNED THE RADIO DOWN AND THE ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS WORKING TO HARD ON A FLAT STRAIGHT PLAIN. I TRIED TO DOWNSHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO 4TH FROM DRIVE(5TH) BUT IT DID NOT CHANGE. SO THE TRANS. WILL NOT GO INTO 5TH GEAR AND ON COLD DAYS IT WILL REV UP TO 4 TO 5 K BEFORE IT WILL SHIFT FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR AT ABOUT 30 TO 40 MPH. I'M GOING TODAY TO GET THE OIL CHANGED AND WILL TELL THE DEALERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM AND THE RECALLS AND OTHER TRANSMISSION PROBLEM REPORTS I HAVE READ TODAY........................... IT IS NOW LATER IN THE DAY, THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED OVER MY CAR, HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER, AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN, NO EXPLANATION FOR WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING WAS GIVEN. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS (THE FIRST ONE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, BUT DID NO SERVICE WORK DUE TO MY LEAVING THE STATE OF MINNESOTA; THE OTHER TWO DEALERSHIPS SUPPOSEDLY DID WORK TO THE VEHICLE) FIRST SERVICING DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT; HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM OF INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL IS STILL SHOWING. (WHAT I MEAN BY INACCURANCE FUEL LEVEL READING IS THAT THE GAUGE WILL SHOW ONE LEVEL, BUT THE AMOUNT OF FUEL PUT IN THE VEHICLE IS SUBSTANTIALLY LESS; MUCH LESS THAN A ONE OR 1.5 GALLON RESERVE WOULD SHOW.) IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE ORIGINAL PART IS AVAILABLE. I HAVE SHOWED THE LAST SERVICING DEALERSHIP PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE FUEL GAUGE AND RECEIPTS FROM FILL UPS; THE LAST SERVICING DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL FRACTURED AND BROKE AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. IT CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL AND PROCEEDED TO TRAVEL OVER THE GUARD RAIL. NEITHER OF THE FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE FUEL TANK WAS PUNCTURED DURING THE PROCESS ,AND THE VEHICLE ERUPTED IN FLAMES. IT BECAME FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND BURNED TO THE GROUND. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE STATE POLICE WERE AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT AND PROVIDED WRITTEN REPORTS. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND WAS DEEMED TOTALED. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE FUELING THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE THE FILLER PIPE COLLAPSED. AS A RESULT THERE WAS GASOLINE SPILLAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR TO THE FILLER PIPE. HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER. UPDATED 02/28/06
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLES ENGINE STALLED 15 TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS ON AUGUST 9, 2006 WHERE THE VEHICLE STALLED AND STOPPED ON TOP OF A MEDIAN.
PURCHASED 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING IN 2005. CAR WAS MAKING GRINDING SOUND A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER FROM FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE OR SHOCK. DEALER REPLACED STEERING GEAR AND TIE RODS. ONE MONTH LATER, DEALER AGAIN HAD TO REPLACE SAME PARTS. FOUR MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, ENTIRE UPPER BALL JOINT CAME APART CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING. DEALER REPLACED UPPER BALL JOINT AND CONTROL ARM ON PASSENGER SIDE. LESS THAN TWO YEARS LATER, LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINTS DISINTEGRATED. DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR OR WARRANTY. *TR
DT: CONSUMER OWNED 2005 TOURING CHRYSLER MINI VAN. SHE TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR AN 18000 MILE ROUTINE SERVICE, VEHICLE HAD 17000 MILES ON IT. DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE REPAIR WAS DONE ON JULY 19, 2005. CONSUMER GOT THE IMPRESSION THAT EVEN THE DEALER DID NOT WAN TO DO ANYTHING FOR IT, THAT THE BRAKE WEAR WAS NOT NORMAL, AND SINCE THIS VAN WAS HEAVIER THAN OTHER VANS SHE FELT THAT MANUFACTURER MAY NOT HAVE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. MAYBE THE BRAKES SHOULD BE HEAVIER DUTY. *AK
THE CHROME COVERING ON ALL FOUR WHEELS OF OUR 2002 CHRYSLER SEBRING 2 DR. LXI IS PEELING EXPOSING THE WHEELS TO ROAD SALT AND CHEMICALS AND ALLOWING WATER TO COLLECT ON THE UNTREATED SURFACES EVENTUALLY LEADING TO RUSTING AND WHEEL FAILURE. THE PEELING WAS FIRST NOTICED ON MAY 31, 2005 AND WAS REPORTING TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER ON JUNE 2, 2005. *JB
2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING TRANSMISSION DELAYS SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO PARK. ***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON, THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION DELAY FROM DRIVE TO PARK, IF PLACED IN NEUTRAL THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AND JERKS WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON AGAIN AND THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE THIRD OCCURRENCE RESULTED IN AN EVAP LEAK, DUE TO THE GAS CAP WHICH NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED. THE FOURTH INCIDENT SHOWED A DIAGNOSTIC RESULT GAS LEAK CODE OF 0441. ON THE FIFTH OCCURRENCE, THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE WIRES WERE EATEN BY RODENTS. *SC
DT: SINCE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THE GEAR SHIFT HAS BEEN HARD TO PUT INTO GEAR. THERE ARE GRINDING NOISES AND IT SHAKES. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE RIGHT STEERING KNUCKLE ON THE CONSUMER'S 2005 CHRYSLER SEBRING BROKE CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. *NM CONSEQUENTLY THE CONSUMER HAD AN ACCIDENT AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. A RECALL WAS ISSUED IN DEC 2004 AFTER THE CONSUMER HAD THE ACCIDENT. *JB
