I PURCHASED MY CAR USED 3 YRS AGO. I PAID IF OFF THIS YEAR. THE ONGOING TROUBLESOME ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR STALLS OUT UNEXPECTEDLY- USUALLY DURING WET WEATHER. IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES OR SO. BUT, IT HAS ALMOST HAPPENED MANY MORE TIMES...THE CAR SPUTTERS AND JUST ABOUT STALLS OUT. AGAIN, ALL DURING WET WEATHER. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED CAR AFTER THE 1ST INCIDENT. THEY TOOK THE CAR AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY ; THAT IT WAS BEING DRAINED WHEN I HAD WIPERS, HEAT, RADIO ETC ALL ON AT ONCE AND THAT WAS WHY IT STALLED. I WENT WITH IT. WELL, IT HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. ALL WHILE DRIVING AND VERY SCARY. THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. ANOTHER THING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED...IS THAT THE DASH LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF; ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. I WILL BE DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN CAN'T SEE MY SPEEDOMETER OR ANYTHING. I THINK THERE IS DEFINITELY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I SEE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS RELATED TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I THINK THEY SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS. *TR
CAR HAS TMPS AND AIRBAG LIGHTS CONSTANTLY COMING ON FOR NO REASON - THEY STAY ON FOR DAYS OR WEEKS AND THEN SHUT OFF. BOTH CHRYLSER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE. ALSO, ENGINE WILL LOSE ALL POWER WHILE IN OPERATION AT BOTH FREEWAY SPEEDS AND LOW RESIDENTIAL SPEEDS ALONG WITH AUTO-START RANDOMLY NOT WORKING. CHRYSLER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE. TRIED REPLACING ALTERNATOR AND STILL HAPPENED. REPLACED CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AFTER LOOKING AT ONLINE FORUMS OF SIMILAR STORES FROM OTHER CHRYSLER SEBRING OWNERS AND STILL OCCASIONALLY HAPPENS. AIRBAG LIGHT IS NOW BACK ON FOR NO REASON... AGAIN. I KNOW GM HAS BEEN HAVING NUMEROUS RECALLS YET MINE HAS NEVER BEEN INCLUDED IN RECALLS FOR BOTH MY MODEL AND OTHER MAKES/MODELS HAVING THESE ISSUES. IT IS INCREDIBLY SCARY DRIVING SPEEDS OF 75MPH TO LOSE ALL POWER. I HAVE TO PULL BRAKE, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND SHUT OFF/RESTART. I AM CONSTANTLY FEARFUL OF IT HAPPENING AND GETTING INTO A CRASH THAT COULD BE FATAL. *TR
CHRYSLER 2007 SEBRING 2.4 LITER OVERHEATING DUE TO THE COOLING RECALL HAD TO GET FIXED BUT CHRYSLER REFUSES TO REIMBURSE ME BECAUSE MY VIN WASN'T ON THE LIST. HOWEVER ITS A LITTLE ODD TO ME THAT MY CAR HAS THE ISSUE THEY HAD THE RECALL ON...AWFUL COMPANY I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING LIGHTS AND ALL OF THE GAUGES CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE CONSTANTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. CONSUMER STATES ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT REASON WHILE DRIVING, SLOWING DOWN OR MAKING A TURN. *TGW
I HAVE A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK, THE CAR IDLED DOWN AND WAS ABOUT TO CUT OFF, AS WHEN I STOPPED ON A RED LIGHT THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I HAD TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO "OFF" AND TURNED IT BACK ON. ALSO, THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. WHAT IS WRONG!? ANY RECALLS ON THESE YET?
MY WAS MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING SOUNDS WHILE INCREASING SPEED, THEN SOUND WOULD GO AWAY. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AN THEY STATED I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. JUNE 2011, MY CAR STARTED STALLING WHILE AT STOP LIGHT, NOW MY CAR IS WANTING TO STALL WHILE I'M DRIVING AROUND 50MPH. DASH LIGHTS ALSO FLICKER ON AND OFF. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP STATES THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR SINCE IT'S NOT GIVING THEM CODES BUT RECOMMEND I REPLACE THE ENGINE. I'VE BEEN READING REVIEWS OF THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR COMPANY AND THERE CARS. HOW ARE THEY NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THESE MOTORS PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO REPLACE, I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS AN NOT GET AWAY WITH IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR AN UNKNOWN RECALL IN WHICH THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 37,500.
FAX FROM CONGRESSMAN FOLLOWING UP ON A JULY 2010 LETTER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE CHRYSLER RECALLS (2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING)-RESPOND TO BIRMINGHAM, AL OFFICE. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE SIX RECALLS RELATED TO THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, WHEN HE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, HE WAS INFORMED THE RECALLS DID NOT APPLY TO HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.
GAS CAP INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. REPLACED GAS CAP AND TRIED TO RESET. IT RESET, AND THEN THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. REMOVED NEW GAS CAP AND REINSTALLED, RESET, AND INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ALONG WITH THE MIL LIGHT. CAN NOT GET EITHER ON TO RESET.
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYS ON. UPON CALLING COMPANY IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPAIR AS IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE STEERING COLUMN. SURE ENOUGH, COMMON ENOUGH THAT THERE IS INDEED A RECALL ON THIS - BUT ONLY IN CERTAIN STATES!!! I AM IN ARKANSAS, THE STATES ARE DIRECTLY TO THE SOUTH OF ME, TX, AL, MS ETC... HOW CRAZY IS THAT? IT IS A DEFECT, BUT ONLY IN A COUPLE STATES?? EVEN THOUGH MY VIN NUMBER IS RIGHT IN THERE??? I GOT THIS INFORMATION BY CALLING THE RECALL HOT LINE... YES, IF MY CAR WAS IN THE RECALL STATES, IT WOULD BE PAID FOR...VERY SHADDY *TR
CAR STALLS, ENGINE STUTTERS AND HESITATES WHEN AT A STOP, TURNING OR GOING AROUND A BEND AT 30 MPH. WHEN INITIALLY STEPPING ON THE GAS RPMS WILL DROP THEN SURGE (~2000 RPM). ALMOST HIT A CAR IN A PARKING LOT ON ONE OCCASION BECAUSE OF A SURGE. ALSO, THE CAR STUTTERED AND JERKED ON THE HIGHWAY. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP REFLASHED PCM ON ONE VISIT AND RAN DIAGNOSTICS ON ANOTHER VISIT AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR
THIS CAR SHUTS OFF, ALL THE LIGHT SO ON AND OFF AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE IT WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE SAID IT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHEN THEY HAD IT. THE INTERIOR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN YOU TURN ON RIGHT TURN SIGNAL. THE ABS LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF AND THE SEATBELT LIGHT. *TR
MY 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING (38000 MILES) HAD A COMPLETE BURN THROUGH ON THE FABRIC OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT WHILE THE HEATED SEAT FUNCTION WAS TURNED ON. THE BURN THROUGH WAS ABOUT 12 INCHES LONG ON THE VERTICAL BACK PART OF THE SEAT. THIS COULD HAVE BURNED ME OR (SHOCKED ME?). SHOULDN'T THERE HAVE BEEN A FUSE THAT WOULD HAVE BLOWN OR SOME OTHER SAFETY FEATURE TO KEEP THIS HEATING ELEMENT FROM CONTINUING TO BURN THROUGH? I CALLED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND SINCE MY WARRANTY RAN OUT IN APRIL, THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR UNLESS I GAVE THEM $89.00. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 12/23/10. THIS WHOLE BURN THROUGH ON THE SEAT HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF! *TR
WINDOWS FOGGING, MAPLE SYRUP SMELL WHEN HEATER IS ON, ENGINE COOLANT DRAINING INSIDE CABIN. HEATER CORE REPLACEMENT. *TR
I OWN A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING SEDAN. SOMETIMES WHEN BREAKING OR ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLES ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR LIGHT WILL ENGAGE, AND THE CAR MAY FAIL TO BREAK OR ACCELERATE, OR EVEN COMPLETELY TURN OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON THE HIGHWAY, AS WELL AS CITY STREETS. THIS HAS BECOME A MORE FREQUENT ISSUE OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE ALSO SOMETIMES JERKS OR TRANSMISSION WILL SKIP WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE NOTICED THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND RADIO TURN OFF WITH NO REASON WHILE DRIVING. I WAS TOLD NO PROBLEMS COULD BE FOUND WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS OF THIS MOMENT, AND AM STILL HAVING THESE SAME, DANGEROUS PROBLEMS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATING VENTILATING MODULE WAS INOPERATIVE, SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V49400 (VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER SYSTEM). THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,962. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
I WAS ON THE EXPRESS WAY GOING TO WORK AND THE CAR IDLED DOWN AND WAS ABOUT TO CUT OFF WHEN THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK I HAD TO CUT IT OFF THEN ON BEFORE IT WOULD GO AND IT TAKE A LONG TIME FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO CHANGE GEAR THIS CAR IS A LEMON AND CHRYSLER KNOW IT. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR ALL THESE PROBLEMS IT ONLY HAVE 52,000 MILES ON IT. AS I APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT AND HAD TO STOP, THE ENGINE STALLED, AND I HAD TO RESTART IT FROM THE IGNITION. IT HAPPENED ON THREE OTHER OCCASIONS (ONCE IN A LEFT TURN AT A STOP SIGN). THE STEERING PROBLEM IS PROGRESSIVELY AGGRAVATING TO THE POINT OF LOOSING POWER ASSIST WHEN I MAKE A LEFT TURN, AND OCCASIONALLY A RIGHT TURN, ALSO. IT STARTED AS A SMALL INCONVENIENCE, BUT AT THIS POINT, IF I AM NOT VERY CAREFUL WHEN I MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE CAR WOULD GO STRAIT INSTEAD OF TURNING. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING IN NOVEMBER OF 2007. ON THE WAY HOME I ENCOUNTERED ISSUES WITH THE HEATING AND DEFROSTING SYSTEM AND SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE STALLING UPON COMING TO A NORMAL STOP OR SUDDEN STOP WITH THE ENGINE STALLING WITHOUT NOTICE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY CONTINUALLY TELL ME THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THE COMPUTER INDICATES NO FAULTS OR ERROR CODES. THE STALLING HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 20-30 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THIS TUESDAY THE 19TH OF OCTOBER, IT STALLED YET AGAIN AND HAD TO BE TOWED OFF THE FREEWAY ON A RAINY DAY DURING RUSH HOURS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER THAT DAY AND AGAIN THEY CHECKED IT AND SAID NOTHING REGISTERED ON THE COMPUTER. I ADVISED THEM OF THE OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE CAR STALLING AND THEY AGREE BUT STILL INDICATE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE NOTHING REGISTERS ON THE COMPUTER AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR NOR ALLOWING MY DAUGHTER TO DRIVE IT, IT STALLED ON HER ON THE FREEWAY, AND THE CHRYSLER DEALER I HAVE BEEN TAKING IT TO DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE INTERESTED IN DOING MUCH ABOUT IT EVEN TO A POINT ABOUT MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN A RENTAL WHILE THE CAR IS IN SERVICE. MY CAR LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING ON THE INTERSTATE AND JUST CAME TO A STOP AND THE ENGINE CRANK FINE BUT WOULD NOT START, CHANGE SPARK PLUGS BUT DID NOT MATTER, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON, HAVE TO GET IT TO. *TR
CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHEN DECELERATING AND MPH IS BELOW 15. ALSO WILL LUNGE FORWARD SOMETIMES DURING ACCELERATION AND HAS STALLED AT TIMES. BEEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THE FIRST TIME, SECOND TIME THEY RAN A "SOFTWARE UPGRADE". *TR
THE CAR HAD A NEW SET OF SPARK PLUGS AND A TRANSMISSION SERVICE AT 60,000 MILES. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHEN IT LOST POWER AND THEN WAS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR. IT WAS TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE THEY SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION BELIEVING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE OBDII SYSTEM REPORTED NO CURRENT OR STORED ERROR CODES. THEY RETURNED THE CAR AND STATED THAT IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND SHOULD HAVE A TUNE UP. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN ABOUT 180 MILES AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHEN IT AGAIN LOST POWER AND WAS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR. THIS TIME THE CAR WAS DRIVEN ALONG THE SHOULDER TO THE NEXT OFF RAMP AT WHICH TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE THE OBDII CODES SHOWED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND AN OXYGEN SENSOR HAD FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THESE ITEMS. FUEL ECONOMY DROPPED FROM ABOUT 30 MPG TO ABOUT 23 MPG. THE LOCAL DEALER LOOKED INTO THIS PROBLEM BUT SAID THAT THE OBDII SYSTEM IS REPORTING NO CURRENT OR STORED CODES SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO PER THE FACTORY, THEY ALSO HAVE NOTED THAT THE ENGINE IS RUNNING ROUGHLY. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND AGREED TO REFUND THE COST OF THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I MAILED ALL THE COPIES OF THE REQUESTED PAPERWORK TO THEM BUT THEY NEVER RESPONDED BACK AND HAVE NOT PAID.
2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING: COULD NOT SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE ETC. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 28,000 MILES. IT IS CURRENTLY AT A REPAIR SHOP. *TR
I WENT TO THE STORE IN MY 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING, AND PARK THE CAR ON A LEVEL PARKING LOT, WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE STORE, THE CAR WAS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION AND I COULD NOT MOVE IT. I SEARCHED ON-LINE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING. I BOUGHT IT USED IN JUNE 2010. STARTING IN SEP 2010 IT STARTED HAVING ISSUES, (I.E., ENGINE SHUT OFF AT LOW SPEED OR WHEN GAS TANK WAS AT 1/4 TANK, ENGINE WOULD ACT AS IF WAS GOING TO STALL WHEN SITTING AT A STOP SIGN/LIGHT THEN WOULD LURCH FORWARD SUDDENLY, AND BRAKE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON). I HAD THE O2 SENSORS REPLACED, ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT FOR A COUPLE WEEKS AND CAME BACK ON. MECHANIC THEN CHANGED WIRING HARNESS. THIS TIME LIGHT WAS OUT FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR 2 BUT NOW WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN THOUGH THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH EITHER THE SENSORS OR THE WIRING HARNESS. NOW THEY SUGGEST REPLACING THE ENGINE BRAIN WHICH AT THIS TIME IS FINANCIALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME. I TOOK THE CAR TO A CHRYSLER DEALER SHOP WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAM ON AND I TOLD THE GUY ABOUT ALL THE ISSUES. HE PULLED UP THE HISTORY AND INFORMED ME THE CAR'S FORMER OWNER HAD SAME SHUT OFF ISSUES AT 16K MILES AND HAD A NEW ENGINE INSTALLED AT 20K MILES. CAR IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED WITH NEW ENGINE BEING PUT IN. I'VE ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED AFTER OWNING THE CAR LESS THAN A YEAR. I'M AFRAID THE CAR SHUTTING OFF ON ME IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED AS I'VE JUST NEARLY MISSED GETTING INTO 2 ACCIDENTS WHEN THE ENGINE HAS SHUT OFF ON ME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT AND THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. ON A LATER DATE, THE EXACT SAME FAILURE OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIVE EXTREMELY ROUGH. AFTER ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO SIT IDLE OVERNIGHT, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. I JUST PURCHASE MY 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING ON JUNE 29, 2010 AT A DEALERSHIP IN MY HOME STATE, AND IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. PRIOR ISSUES I HAVE EXPERIENCED SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE ON JUNE 29 IS THE MULTIFUNCTION (EMISSION) AND AIRBAG SENSORS COMING ON. A BRAKE SENSOR HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF. BOTH THE MULTIFUNCTION AND AIRBAG SENSORS FIXED ON AUGUST 28, 2010. I WAS INFORMED BY THE CHRYSLER MECHANIC SHOP THAT THE BRAKE SENSOR IS OKAY. NOW, I HAVE NEW PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALER FOR REPAIR. I HAVE MISSED A DAY FROM WORK BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES IT BLINKS OFF AND ON A FEW MINUTES AT A TIME AS I DRIVE FOR AS LONG AS I'M DRIVING. OTHER TIMES, IT WILL STAY ON FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO CONTINUOUSLY, THEN STAY OFF. OR, I CAN GO DAYS WITHOUT IT COMING ON. I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO EITHER DEPLOY FOR NO REASON WHILE I'M DRIVING AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, OR NOT DEPLOY IF DO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON ALMOST EVERY TIME I STOP AT A LIGHT. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES CHECKED BY A MECHANIC, AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THEM. MY DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAS OCCASIONALLY BEGUN "STICKING". USUALLY IT IS WHEN I HAVE ROLLED IT DOWN, IT DOES NOT WANT TO ROLL BACK UP. MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, SO I HAVE NOT PAID TO HAVE IT HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER AT THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY ERROR CODES. MY 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING "STUCK" IN PARK. I HAVE 48847 MILES ON MY SEBRING AND HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. ON AUG.13 I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE AND PARKED. THE NEXT DAY I GOT INTO MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I CHECKED THE MANUAL AND IT GAVE AN "OVER-RIDE" PROCEDURE. THIS PROCEDURE DOES NOT WORK. I CALLED CHRYSLER ON THE 15TH AND ASKED HOW TO ENGAGE THE OVER-RIDE. THEY GAVE ME THE SAME PROCEDURE. ON THE 16TH I HAD A TOW TRUCK COME TO MY HOUSE TO TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. HE SHOWED ME AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT OVER-RIDE THAT WAS SHOWN TO HIM, BY CHRYSLER. BUT CHRYSLER DOES NOT PASS ON TO THE CONSUMER. IT WORKED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. BEFORE I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND GOT A CASE MANAGER ASSIGNED TO ME. THE CASE MANAGER WORKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND GOT MY CAR REPAIRED FOR A $50.00 CO-PAYMENT. CHRYSLER KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH 2007 & 2008 SEBRINGS I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHRYSLER SEND A NEW OVER-RIDE PROCEDURE TO ALL OWNERS OF VEHICLES THAT COULD HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUE A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 57,000.
I WENT TO START UP MY CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT DAY AND WHEN I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT SHIFT. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE THE E BRAKE WAS ON BUT ONCE THAT WAS REMOVED THE SHIFTER STILL WOULD NOT GO PAST THE "P" ICON. I TRIED PUSHING THE REAR OF THE CAR TO JAR IT LOOSE, TO NO EFFECT. THE PREVIOUS DAY THE CAR DROVE FINE AND I HAD NO ISSUES. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO PICK THE CAR UP AND TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SHIFTER AND IT COST ME $275. I BOUGHT THE CAR THIS YEAR WITH UNDER 50,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEM WITH THE CAR UNTIL NOW. THE REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE SHIFTER WITH THE EXACT SAME SHIFTER FROM THE CHRYSLER CORP. I NOW FIND MYSELF WONDERING IF THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN AGAIN? *TR

SHE IMMEDIATELY CALLED ME AND I LOOKED FOR INFORMATION ON THE WEB AND DISCOVERED THIS WAS SORT OF A COMMON PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER AND IT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY OR DEFECTIVE 'SHIFT INTERLOCK CONTROL SYSTEM'. ON SEVERAL FORUMS I SAW THAT SEVERAL SEBRINGS, PT CRUISERS, AND CHRYSLER 300S HAVE HAD THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUES. WE CALLED OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER/DODGE DEALERSHIP, LANDMARK CHRYSLER DODGER IN MORROW, GA AND THE SERVICE CENTER INFORMED US THAT THEY SEE THIS ISSUE "ALL THE TIME" AND IT NOT ONLY AFFECTS THE VEHICLES MENTIONED ABOVE, BUT IT ALSO INCLUDES DODGE CHARGERS AS WELL. THE WENT ON TO STATE THAT IT WOULD COST US APPROXIMATELY $350 TO FIX THE ISSUE. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AS I WAS TOLD AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD BE EXTENDED TO 3 YEARS/60,000 MILES. THE TECHNICIAN MENTIONED THAT THE NOISE WAS A RADIATOR OR FAN MOTOR. THEN I CHECKED THE RECALLS FOR 2007 SEBRINGS AND FOUND TWO RECALLS (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 08VI52000 AND 07V473000 REGARDING ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL MATTERS, ONE OF WHICH HAS THE SAME CONCERN THAT I HAVE.
