REPORT OF SUSPICION OF REMOTE CONTROL AND MANIPULATION OF VEHICLE COMPUTER BY UNKNOWN AND UNAUTHORIZED INDIVIDUAL(S). VEHICLE MODULES AND COMPONENTS ARE BEING DESABLED, ACTIVATED MAKING STARTING IMPOSSIBLE AND DRIVING UNSAFE. BATTERY IS BEING DISCHARGED, LIGHT BEING TURNED ON, ETC... THANK YOU FOR ASSISTANCE
I was driving from getting my daughter from school and felt heat and saw smoke coming from under the dashboard. I immediately pulled over and pulled my daughter out of the car the dashboard became engulfed in flames. I was told by the fire department that it looked like and electrical and fuel issue under the dash. There are known problems with this vehicle catching fire but my cin number when I looked up recalls did not have any on it. My insurance company also stated they had many claims against the make model of vehicle regarding fire issues do to manufacturers issues.
I have an ABS module for my 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van that has gone bad. All of the warning lights came on for the brake system (ABS, Brake, ESP/BAS, traction). I took it to my local garage and they said that it was a bad ABS module and only the dealer could replace it because it needed to be re-programed. I took it to the dealer who also did a diagnostic and said that it was bad and needed to be replaced. BUT the part has been discontinued and they cannot find the part any where else. No other dealer has them. This sounds like a safety concern to me. The car does not have ABS and cannot be fixed. Can you do anything to force Chrysler to start making this part. It is not safe to drive on slippery roads and will lead to accidents and possibly deaths. Please help. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact added water to the coolant reservoir and then drove the vehicle to the residence where the coolant hose was replaced. The dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure and the contact was informed that he needed pay for a diagnostic test to determine the cause of the temperature gauge failure to indicate that the engine had overheated. The temperature gauge was not replaced. The failure mileage was 59,000.

Suv stalls while driving. I have tried 2 dealers to honor the recall and neither would accept performing the rework required. I called a local dealer here Quirk and they said they do not perform recall work. I called the dealer we purchased the vehicle from and they said it was against their policy to work on cars greater than 10 years old! How can I get this problem fixed?
Unknown. Vehicle abruptly shuts off. Usually before full operating temperature is reached. It has happened dozens of times. It most recently happened today. Always when you remove your foot from the throttle at lower speeds. You can watch the tach go to 0 when your foot comes off. No warning, no consistency. It has never occurred while accelerating. Most events happened going around a curve, occasionally while slowing to turn into a lot or at an intersection. No problem at highway speeds. The most challenging time though is taking your foot off the gas going around a curve and it quits. Response is to rapidly slip the transmission into neutral and turn the key to start. It usually fires right back up. If you have no situational awareness however this could lead to a really bad outcome. This has been going on for over 100,000 miles. Have 192 now but the problem is getting worse. Dealers always have codes but nothing worked. Once a crankshaft sensor was replaced (On a suspicion) but no code for it. It helped a while but the problem has returned. Still no code for that sensor but I’m having it replaced again.
ABS/TCS/EBP/ESP warning lights all illuminate during system check at 8mph. Diagnostic code C2200 - Internal Module Fault. Ongoing issue. Appears to be ambient temperature related. Internet+forum searchs find this exact condition very common on 2008 model Chrysler minivan. Requires ABS controller replacement with has been discontinued by Mopar. 2008 was the only model year to utilize this particular part number. 68030939AA. Superseded by 68030939AB.
I was standing beside the parked vehicle with the side door open, driver's side, inspecting the 2nd row swivel seat to see if it is removable. I was bent over the forward facing 2nd row seat when I lifted the release lever that tilts the seat back forward. The seat back flung forward with violent force, the headrest hitting on the right side of my face. It broke my nose, which bled profusely and had to be manually straightened by a nurse.
while recall being done they caused malfunction and have not fixed problem recall not completed and they have reported it was completed.
I was leaving my place of residence and was navigating a 90 degree left hand turn while in drive at approximately 10mph. As I began to attempt to straighten the wheel and accelerate out of the turn I realized I had no steering and the car wouldn't accelerate. The engine had stalled and the steering wheel was locked while turned to the left. No warning lights or messages were present even after I started the vehicle back up. I feel incredibly lucky this happened at a low rate of speed instead of at highway speed. It has never done anything like this before and we cannot figure out what caused the engine to stall or why there was no steering when it happened.

The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, the brakes would engage independently with the ABS and traction control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed him that the cause of the failure was a result of a faulty air bag replacement. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was given an appointment for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The A/C lines that go to the rear are defective. It wouldn't be such a big problem but, it causes all the A/C components to not work/fail. We had our children in the rear and had no A/C in the worst traffic backup for hrs. It gets entirely too hot back there even with the windows open. Our mechanic looked up parts needed for this repair and informed us that the parts were on national back order. So he told us that it is indeed a common problem and it is definitely a major safety concern.!! There were no warning's, messages, or symptoms before this failure occurred.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country equipped with Mastercraft tires, Tire Line: Stratus AS, Tire Size: 225/65/R16, DOT Number: U942F35. The contact stated the tow truck driver informed her that the front driver’s side tire also had sidewall separation. The contact towed the vehicle to the tire shop and had to the front and rear driver side tires replaced. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,940.
My van has a failing TIPM and apparently this is a common thing with these vans. It causes the horn to sound, wipers to start even when the vehicle is parked with no one in it and the engine off. It also causes the vehicle to shut off the fuel pump causing the vehicle to shut off while driving. Chrysler is well aware of this and refuses to issue a recall, even though this is something that happens to many of their 2008 vehicles.
WHILE DRIVING, THE IGNITION KEY MOVED FROM "ON" TO "ACCESSORY". THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND I HAD NO POWER BRAKES NOR POWER STEERING TO STOP. VERY BAD. I WAS ON A CITY STREET AT THE TIME. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM, THE RECALL R03 / NHTSA 14V-373 ADDRESSED IN 2015. THE IGNITION MODULE WAS REPLACE AT THAT TIME UNDER THE RECALL. THE REPLACEMENT FAILED. I'M PRESENTLY HAVING THE MODULE REPLACED AGAIN AT A CHRYSLER DEALER. THIS TIME AT MY EXPENSE. NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO.
CAR ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHEN IN DRIVE. DRIVES FINE, WHEN I STOP AT LIGHT OR GO VERY SLOW IT JUST SHUTS DOWN.

THE DEALER SPECULATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE TIPM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.*DT*DT*JB
REFERENCE FCA SAFETY RECALL W09. I have been attempting to get my vehicle fixed/repaired since February of this year when I received a recall notice (W09) through the postal service. I was told in February the part was not available yet for the dealer to obtain but I would be notified when it was available. I have called the dealer frequently since then to determine the status of the part and to have my vehicle fixed and received the same reply. Approximately three months ago when I called the dealer (yet again), the dealer informed me they would order the part and they would notify me when it arrived. I have repeatedly called this dealer since then to ask if the part had arrived. After three phone calls I was pointedly told I would be notified when the part had arrived. It is December of 2021 now and the recall on my vehicle remains unfixed. This morning I searched for this recall on the NHTSA website and found, "The interim repair is to remove the emblem and the emblem retainers from the driver airbag." This interim remedy was never mentioned nor completed by this dealer. I was never made aware until my search this morning there was an interim remedy. Since receiving this recall in February I have been minimizing the use of this vehicle, restricting its use to in town driving only until it could be fixed. I am fortunate to have another vehicle at my disposal but others in my situation may not be so fortunate. If the delay in supplying the required parts is due to the manufacture then I highly doubt the FCA statement, "...but are sincerely concerned about your safety", as cited on their safety recall letter. If the delay is due to the Diepholz Chrysler dealer in Paris Illinois, then I am of the opinion this dealer has failed or is unable to remedy this defect within a reasonable time period. If the NHTSA is able to get this dealer to make the required fix/repair, then the NHTSA is far better than I could ever hope to be.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COVERED IF THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 144,316.

THE ABS CONTROL MODULE IS DEFECTIVE AND THE ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS 3 TIMES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. I TOOK MY VAN IN FOR BRAKE REPAIR AND THE SERVICE TECH (WHO HAD WORKED FOR CHRYSLER PREVIOUSLY) DETECTED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THE RECALL AFFECTING THE VEHICLE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 09V351000). FCA HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS ISSUE AND THIS IS A RECALL OUT FOR THIS PROBLEM, AFFECTING MY MAKE & MODEL YEAR BUT MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT APPLY TO THE RECALL. HOW CAN THIS BE?
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air bag control unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MINIVAN THAT IS IN MINT CONDITION. I BROUGHT MY VAN TO A DEALERSHIP FOR A REPAIR. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG. THE ISSUE IS 14 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED BY THE PLASTIC EMBLEM THAT HAS BECOME LOOSE AND CAN BECOME A PROJECTILE IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THE TECH SAID THE RECALL HAS THEM REMOVE THE EMBLEM ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THEY DON'T REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING. MOST PEOPLE DECLINE IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS. I TOLD HIM I DID NOT WANT THIS RECALL PERFORMED ON MY CAR UNTIL CHRYSLER HAS A BETTER FIX. UNFORTUNATELY, THE TECH FORGOT TO TAKE THE WORK ORDER FOR THE RECALL OFF IN THE COMPUTER AND THEY REMOVED THE EMBLEM ANYWAY. ALSO SCRATCHED THE LEATHER ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THEY WERE PRYING THE EMBLEM OFF. YOU CAN IMAGINE MY HORROR WHEN I PICKED MY CAR UP AND FOUND THAT A DECORATIVE TRIM PIECE WAS RIPPED OFF. NO REPLACEMENT OF ANY KIND, JUST AN OPEN GAPE WITH HOLES WHERE THE EMBLEM USED TO BE ON THE STEERING WHEEL. VERY NOTICEABLE!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I WANT TO PUT IT OUT THERE THAT CHRYSLER LIED IN THEIR PRESS RELEASE ON JULY 14, 2020. THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID...CHRYSLER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG COVER WITH A REDESIGNED COVER, FREE OF CHARGE.. AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO FIX! THERE IS NO REDESIGNED COVER! DON"T HAVE A RECALL IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS CAR! CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY STILL HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS. WHAT! WAY TO STICK IT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! THEY DON'T HAVE ANY MORE LAWSUITS BUT LEAVE THE CAR OWNER WITH DAMAGE TO THEIR CAR. WHAT IF I WANTED TO SELL MY CAR? THIS DEVALUES IT! THANKS CHRYSLER!! I WANT TO KNOW IF THE CEO, MR. MANLEY, OF CHRYSLER WOULD APPRECIATE ME GOING IN HIS CAR AND REMOVING A DECORATIVE PIECE OF TRIM OR EMBLEM WITH NO REGARD FOR HOW IT MAKES THE CAR LOOK? YOU KNOW IT WOULD NOT BE OK!
MY VAN IS NOT STARTING RIGHT AWAY AS IT USUALLY DOES. HAD I BEEN ON THE ROAD WOULD HAVE CAUSED A ACCIDENT. THE THROTTLE LIGHT IS ON AT THE START, FIRST IT WAS THE OIL LIGHT. HAD SOME MECHANICS SAY FUEL PUMP BUT THEN READ IT IS A FUSE ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE
ALL LIGHTS ON GAUGE CLUSTER ARE ON AND I DON'T HAVE TURN SIGNALS FROM THE INSIDE AND NO FUEL REGISTERED NO GEARS LIGHT UP GAUGE CLUSTER DOES NOT DISPLAY ANY INFORMATION
LOW BEAMS DRIVER'S SIDE WON'T WORK. REPAIR MECHANIC SAYS IT IS A FAULTY TIPM MODULE SHORTING OUT AND NEEDING TOTAL REPLACEMENT. NOTICED SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. REPAIRS COSTING CLOSE TO $1000.OO. WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT RECALL?
CAR DASHBOARD LIGHTS WON'T COME ON BUT THE MILAGE DOSE CAR WON'T START AND IT HAS TWO RECALL THAT WAS FIXED I RENT THE CAR FROM CARMART AND THEY SAID I WILL NEED A NEW KEY FOBIK AND IT'S GONNA COAST ME 250 I ONLY RECEIVED ONE SUPER GLUED KEY FOBIK I THOUGHT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD ARE SOMETHING TRIED TO TAKE IT APART AND ADD NEW ONE ONLY TO SEE IT WAS SUPER GLUED SHUT AND BROKE ON THE INSIDE I HAD JUST DONE A OIL WAS AT AUTOZONE WHEN IT HAPPENED HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME
