I was driving down the road and suddenly my van shut down causing me to drive over a curb and now my van does not start it cranks and there is a spark however it does not turnover and start and does not run!

The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic. The contact contacted an unknown dealer who advised that they were not aware of that specific failure. Our 2009 chrysler town and country is having major issues. The dashboard lights keep going on and off the speedometer won't work when this is happening also the windshield wipers go on automatically with me putting them on and won't stop. Sometimes while this occurs our automatic door won't operate or radio. We got a new alternator a new battery a new iod fuse and it's still happening i wasn't sure if this was a normal occurrence for chryslers so I did some research my van isn't the only one with the same issues we unfortunately bought it used a few months ago and can't take it back to the lot.
IT JUST WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON FORD RD IN MICHIGAN WHILE TURNING IN THE TURNING LANE.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL FOR THE IGNITION KEY SWITCH. I HAD IT REPAIRED THROUGH THE RECALL ON 1-13-2016. IT IS NOW 2021 AND THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. WHEN KEY IS IN THE IGNITION IT TURNS BUT WON'T START THE CAR. I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY TURN IT ON AND OFF. WHILE DRIVING THE DASH LIGHT COME ON INDICATING A SLIPPERY BRAKE LIGHTS WARNING. WHEN I FIRST START IT UP, I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF PARK WITH BRAKE APPLIED. I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF AND REMOVE KEY AND RE-INSERT AND TURN IT ON. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER THEY SAID THERE WAS ONLY A 2 YEAR WARRANTY ON THE RECALLED PART AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW KEY UNIT. THIS IS A REPEAT PROBLEM AND NEEDS ANOTHER RECALL. THE WIN MODULE IS ACTING UP AGAIN. I WENT ONLINE AT REPAIRPAL.COM AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I ONLY HAVE 34000 MILES ON THIS 2009 VAN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ASHEBORO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1709 E DIXIE DR, ASHEBORO, NC 27203) WHERE SHE HAD THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP INTERMITTENTLY WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE MODULE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ORIGINAL DEALER WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, SHE WAS LATER INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC DUE TO THE VEHICLE STARTING WITH A NEW BATTERY. SHE WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED, THE MECHANIC COULD NOT CORRECTLY DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED AND REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

THE CAR ONLY MAKES ONE CLICK OR SOMETIMES NOTHING WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT WILL START RIGHT UP , SOMETIMES IT WILL START WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL ,BATTERY AND STARTER HAVE BEEN REPLACED TO NO AVAIL ! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR , SOMETIMES A COUPLE OF WEEKS WILL GO BY WITH NO ISSUE !

I JUST GOT MY CAR BACK FOR THE SECOND TIME AND IT SHUT OFF ON ME 3 TIMES FROM THE SHOP TO MY HOUSE. I HAVE 3 KIDS I SPENT ALL MY SAVINGS IN THIS CAR THE USED CAR LOT ONLY HAS A 30 DAY WARRANTY AND IT'S ALMOST UP IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE AND STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN DRIVING MY TOWN AND COUNTRY, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ALL THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS START FLASHING ON AND OFF. THE WINDHSHIELD WIPERS COME ON, THE VEHICLE TURNS COMPLETELY OFF AND WILL NOT START AGAIN FOR A FEW MINUTES. SINCE THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF, THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT ALONG WITH THE POWER BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THINKING IT WOULD BE SAFE AND RELIABLE FOR OUR KIDS. BOY WERE WE WRONG! THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE OFF THE STREETS! VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. ACTED LIKE IT WAS NOT GETTING FUEL. BATTERY WOULD DRAIN OVERNIGHT. SLIDING DOORS WOULD NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. TOOK TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE TIPM HAD A COUPLE BAD RELAYS. ORDERED A EXTERNAL RELAY KIT FROM CHRYSLER PER A SERVICE BULLETIN. REPAIR SOLVED THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM.
MY VEHICLE FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE JUST STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. ALL THE ELECTRICAL STUFF STAYS ON BUT THE ENGINE JUST STOPS RUNNING. THERE IS ALSO A SMOKE SMELL THAT WAS COMING FROM THE BACK SLIDING DOORS A SHORT TIME AGO AND THEN THE DOORS STOPPED SHUTTING CORRECTLY AND THEY WOULDN'T LOCK. OVER NIGHT THE BATTERY WOULD DIE FROM THE DOORS NOT SHUTTING CORRECTLY. NOW WE JUST HAVE THE DOORS SHUT OFF SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE ANYMORE ISSUES WITH IT DYING ALL THE TIME AND JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST WHEN DRIVING IT THAT IT DOESN'T DIE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. WHEN I LOOKED UP RECALLS WITH THIS VEHICLE IT SAID THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BUT WHEN I PUT IN MY VIN IT SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUES. NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. CLOCKSPRING GOES BAD FROM 2 TOWN & COUNTRY TRY I OWNED & THE TOURING SHIFTER GETS STUCK & CAN'T MOVE OUT OF PARK. THE HEAT FOR THE REAR ALSO IS BAD, THE LINE LEAKS.
SOMETIME OVERNIGHT ON JAN 1/2ND 2019 MY VEHICLE STARTED ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN USE, WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY, AND HAD NOT BEEN IN USE SINCE THE MORNING BEFORE. THE FIRE MUST HAVE WENT OUT ON ITS OWN. BUT CAUSED DAMAGE TO BOTH THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE INSIDE OF THE VAN SMELLS HEAVILY OF ELECTRICAL SMOKE.
MY CAR STOPS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING, EASILY RESTARTS AFTER SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL. HOWEVER, RPM GOES TO ZERO, LOSE POWER STEERING. DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO KEY FOB RECALL. IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES, USUALLY WHEN WEATHER IS COLDER LIKE 30 DEGREE. HAVE ALSO NOTICE BLIND SPOT AID SYSTEM WILL PERIODICALLY NOT FUNCTION. HEATED SEAT LIGHT OCCASIONALLY DO NOT FUNCTION. THE BLIND SPOT AND HEATED SEATS ARE MINOR COMPARED TO CAR STOPPING DEAD. IT DID RECENTLY WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE AND WAS VERY SCARY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND THEY STATE THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES SHOWING. I TOLD MY HUSBAND IF I DIE IN A VEHICLE CRASH, ESPECIALLY IF REAR ENDED OR WHILE TURNING TO SUE CHRYSLER. DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM IN WARM WEATHER. I'M AFRAID TO HAVE ANYONE IN MY VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY MY FIVE GRANDKIDS. I STAY OFF INTERSTATES BECAUSE OF THIS, AND HAVE SPENT MORE TIME LOOKING BEHIND ME FOR POSSIBLY GETTING REAR ENDED. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. ONE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS, WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. ITS LIKE PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WHILE GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL. THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME, DRIVING 55, 35, 25 MPH, WHILE GOING STRAIGHT, OR TWICE WHILE TURNING. I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, OR PERHAPS THE IGNITION SYSTEM AND KEY FOB RECALL. MY CAR HAS 84330 MILES. IT'S HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. FREQUENCY SEEMS TO BE GETTING GREATER.
