WHILE IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSES POWER. THE ENGINE, POWER STEERING, BRAKES AND AC UNIT CUT OUT. THE RADIO AND HAZARD LIGHTS CONTINUE TO FUNCTION, AS IF THE VEHICLE HAS ENTERED ACCESSORY MODE. THIS HAPPENS BOTH AT SLOW SPEEDS (20-25 MPH) AND IN HIGHWAY DRIVING (60+ MPH) AND ANY SPEED IN BETWEEN. SOMETIMES THE EVENT IS PRECEDED BY A BUMP OR JAR IN THE PAVEMENT, AND OTHER TIMES IT HAS NO APPARENT CAUSE. TURNING THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND RESTARTING THE CAR RESOLVES THE ISSUE, HOWEVER THIS IS DIFFICULT WHEN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. IN ADDITION, ON OCCASION, THE KEY FOB SEEMS TO HAVE DIFFICULTY STARTING THE IGNITION. IT MIGHT TAKE 3 OR 4 TRIES BEFORE THE ENGINE TURNS OVER, DESPITE NO BATTERY OR ELECTRICAL LOSS. THESE THINGS OFTEN COINCIDE SO THAT YOU ARE FRANTICALLY TRYING TO RESTART THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS INFREQUENTLY, THE WORST CASE OF THIS HAPPENING IS DATED BELOW, BUT THAT IS NOT THE ONLY TIME. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS GIVEN PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SINCE I GOT IN BRAND NEW IN WINTER 2009. WHEN DRIVEN FOR MORE THEN A COUPLE HOURS, ALL THE ELECTRICAL WILL FLASH OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS, TO INCLUDE MY POWER STEERING HEADLIGHTS, DASH LAMPS, ETC. I HAD THE RECALL DONE WHICH REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH WHICH SUPPOSEDLY WAS THE PROBLEM. NOW THAT THIS RECALL HAS BEEN DONE, MY KEY GETS STUCK IN MY IGNITION, THE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM RANDOMLY TURNS OFF, AND TO TOP IT OFF THE ELECTRICAL STILL FLASHES ON AND OFF AFTER DRIVING FOR MORE THEN AN HOUR OR TWO. THE DEALERSHIP HAS STATED THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSES THIS AS IT NEVER HAPPENS WHEN THEY TEST DRIVE IT. ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT I'VE HAD SINCE DAY ONE, IS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN AND PRESS THE GAS TO SPEED BACK UP WITH THE WHEEL STILL TURNED THE TRANSMISSION WILL JERK INTO GEAR. THIS ALSO HAS BEEN LOOKED AT MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING IT.
SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING GIVING NO WARNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STOP AND CONTROL THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH; HOWEVER, THERE WAS A CHILD IN THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT WHO WAS UNINJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR BODY REPAIRS, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TIPM MODULE FAILURE. KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS AND OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THIS IS THE SINGULAR PART WHICH CONTROLS THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD DO TO HELP, THEY GOT THE PART EXPEDITED FOR DELIVERY, BUT OFFERED NOTHING ELSE TO ASSIST: NO HELP WITH THE RENTAL CAR, NO PRICE REDUCTION ON THE PART OR THE LABOR TO REPAIR VEHICLE FOR A KNOWN REPAIR ISSUE. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND MY LAST CHRYSLER PRODUCT PURCHASE, AND I WILL MAKE SURE I TELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN ABOUT HOW MUCH CHRYSLER CARES ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND STANDING BEHIND THEIR KNOWN DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!!
ESP WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE FOR REPAIR MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT STILL COMES ON.
THE IGNITION SWITCH MOVED, DURING REGULAR DRIVING ON CITY STREETS OVER SPEED BUMPS, SUDDENLY OUT OF THE RUN POSITION, TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. THE CHRYSLER SERVICE GUYS SUGGESTED TO REMOVE ALL ITEMS FROM THEIR KEY RINGS, LEAVING ONLY THE IGNITION KEY - AS A PERMANENT REMEDY. DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WON'T GO UP
THE ENGINE STOPS AS IF YOU TURNED THE ENGINE OFF WHEN IN MOTION. IT CAN BE RESTATED ONCE YOU PUT IT INTO THE PARK OR NUTERAL. THIS CAN CAUSE A MAJOR ISSUE ON THE HIGHWAYS.
AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, TPMS SYSTEM STARTED TO MALFUNCTION. THE TIRES SHOWED PROPER INFLATION (LATER VERIFIED MANUALLY) WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED AND THE EACH TIRE ONE BY ONE CHANGED FROM THE 38 TO -- SEPARATED BY ABOUT 3 OR 4 SECONDS. AFTER STOPPING TO MANUALLY CHECK TIRE PRESSURE WHICH WAS APPROPRIATE, I THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND TPMS ONCE AGAIN SHOWED TIRE PRESSURES.
VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING, TYPICALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PROPEL FORWARD FROM A STOP, BUT HAS ALSO OCCURRED MORE RARELY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHTS COME ON, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES ARE AFFECTED AS WELL. VEHICLE MUST BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. HAPPENED FREQUENTLY PRIOR TO THE RECALL FIX, STOPPED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, AND HAS NOW RESUMED WORSE THAN EVER. SO, SO DANGEROUS AS I DESPERATELY FEAR BEING REAR ENDED OR T-BONED IF THIS OCCURS WHEN PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC, PARTICULARLY WHEN YOUNG CHILDREN ARE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN EXTREMELY COMMON CONCERN BASED ON THE COMPLAINTS AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALER TWO WEEKS AGO TO REPAIR, THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE AND NO REPAIR WAS COMPLETED. IF YOU'RE READING THIS BECAUSE YOU HAVE A SIMILAR ISSUE, PLEASE DOCUMENT IT SO THAT WE CAN BRING AS MUCH ATTENTION TO THIS AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO INCITE ACTION.
BRAKING PROBLEMS. CAR SHAKES WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. GROWLING NOISE WHEN BRAKING AT TIMES. VEHICLE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE.

HAVE HAD THREE SEPARATE INCIDENTS THAT LEAD ME TO BELIEVE TH TIPM IS FAULTY. I'VE HAD TWO INCIDENTS WHERE THE VEHICLE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. EACH TIME I PUT THE TRANS IN N, TURNED THE IGNITION, AND CONTINUED DRIVING. ONE INCIDENT, WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, WHERE THE TPM SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON, THEN AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING "CHECK TPM SYSTEM" CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY THE PSI READINGS FOR EACH TIRE CHANGED FROM 38 TO -- ONE BY ONE... THEN JUST AS QUICK, EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL. YESTERDAY HAD AN INCIDENT WHERE, AFTER DRIVING AROUND ALL DAY, I SHUT THE CAR OFF THEN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO START IT ONLY TO HAVE THE CLASSIC "CLICK, CLICK, CLICK". AFTER A COUPLE ATTEMPTS OF TURNING IGNITION BACK AND FORTH, I GOT A JUMP AND THEN THE ENGINE STARTED WITHOUT ISSUE. AFTER THE JUMP I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP.
MY VAN WILL SOMETIMES NOT START THE FIRST TIME I TURN THE KEY, I MAY HAVE TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT, OR JUST TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON. IT HAS STALLED ON ME 4 TIMES OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS, ONCE GOING 65 MPH, I SUDDENLY LOST POWER. I TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC, THEY SAID THE STARTER CONNECTIONS WERE A LITTLE CORRODED SO THEY CLEANED THEM AND HE CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS. THE FIRST TIME I TRIED STARTING IT AFTER GETTING IT HOME IT WOULDN'T START WITHOUT TURNING THE KEY OFF AND ON AND IT STALLED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CONTACTED THE SERVICE CENTER AGAIN, THEY REPLACED THE RELAY, BUT WASN'T SURE THAT WOULD FIX THE NOT STARTING PROBLEM. IT DIDN'T FIX IT. I HAVE NOT HAD IT STALL AGAIN, BUT THE STALLING DID NOT RE- OCCUR AS OFTEN. I FEEL LIKE THE STALLING IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE, I HAVE VERY LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (PEARSON CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 8250 W BROAD ST, RICHMOND, VA 23294) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
WHILE DRIVING (HIGHWAY AND CITY) THE VAN WILL DIE. NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. IT WILL RESTART, BUT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO BE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR MAKING A TURN AND HAVE THE VEHICLE DIE. I HAVE BEGAN MAINTAINING A LOG OF WHEN THIS HAPPENS...6 TIMES IN JUST OVER THE COURSE OF A MONTH. NOW WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ONLY WHEN ABSOLUTELY NEEDED AND IT STILL IS DIE THIS OFTEN. THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE.
THE VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH STARTING.. IT WILL WORK FINE AND THEN YOU WILL BE AT THE STORE ETC AND YOU TURN THE KEY AND YOU HEAR A CLICK BUT THE MOTOR WILL NOT TURN OVER. YOU CLICK THE KEY BACK AND FORTH AND IF YOU ARE LUCKY IT WILL START AFTER 10 TO 20 TIMES. THEN YOU WILL GO 2 OR 3 WEEKS WITH NO PROBLEMS AND THEN OUT OF THE BLUE YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR AND BAM IT WILL CLICK WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY AND NOT START. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT START FOR 10 OR 15 MINUTES. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL START. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 6-10 MONTHS. IT IS VERY SCARY TO BE STUCK SOMEWHERE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX AND REPLACE. CHRYSLER HAS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS. GO ON THE BLOGS AND THAT IS ALL YOU HEAR ABOUT. STARTING PROBLEM, STARTING PROBLEM, STARTING PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER. EVERYONES SAFETY AND POCKET BOCK IS BEING AFFECTED BECAUSE OF THE POOR ENGINEERING IN THE SHIFT LEVER TO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS SOMETIMES CALLED A NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH BUT ON THE TOWN AND COUNTRY IT IS CALLED A TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR.
OVER THE LAST YEAR I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 6 INSTANCES WHERE, WHEN I START THE VEHICLE AFTER DARK, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL FLASH A NUMBER OF TIMES BUT WILL NOT STAY ON. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE HOME IN THE DARK WITH NO HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I HAVE LISTED THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT
WIRELESS IGNITION NODE (WIN), HAVE MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THIS FIXED BY OUR LOCAL DEALER, BUT TO NO AVAIL. 1ST MADE APPOINTMENT, WENT TO SAID APP. BUT HAD WRONG PART, SO THEY HAD TO ORDER PART, SEVERAL WEEKS LATER AND SEVERAL CALLS LATER, STILL NO PART AVAILABLE.
I HAVE 2010 TOWN AND COUNTRY THAT HAS A INTERMITTENT CRANKING PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO CHRYSLER DEALERS AND THEY HAVE KEPT IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM, THE DEALERS SAY WHEN THEY HAVE THE VAN HOOKED UP TO THEIR DIAGNOSED MACHINE THE TEST DOES NOT DUPLICATE. ALL CRANKING ISSUES ARE HAPPENING AT HOME AND WHEN WE ARE OUT AND ABOUT, THE VAN DOES SHUT OFF SOMETIMES AFTER CRANKING. WE HAVE TAKEN VAN TO DEALER FOR A RECALL THAT WE RECEIVED PERTAINING TO WIRELESS IGNITION NOD.THE FIX DID NOT RESOLVE THE CRANKING PROBLEM. THIS CRANKING ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN ENGINE IS COLD OR HOT, NO LIGHTS COME ON INSTRUMENT AND NO CODES ARE STORED TO HELP FIND THE PROBLEM. THE TWO DEALERS HAVE CHECKED BATTERY, STARTER, ALL GROUNDS,FUEL PUMP RELAY, FUES, ANY THING THEY COULD THINK OF, STILL NO FIX. THIS HAS BEEN GOING FOR TWO YEARS, PLEASE HELP, MR CEO OF CHRYSLER PLEASE HELP YOUR OWNERS OF YOUR VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BILL ABBOTT CHEVROLET BUICK (500 W CENTER ST, MONTICELLO, IL 61856, 217-817-0749), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO DOUGLASS DODGE RAM (811 W STATE HIGHWAY 54, CLINTON, IL 61727, (866) 408-8606) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD RESUME NORMAL DRIVING UPON RESTART OF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD ALSO TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO YORK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (1765 S, US-231, CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN 47933) WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK SEVERELY. THE VEHICLE ALSO HESITATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY ACCELERATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FINALLY SHIFTED INTO GEAR, IT SHIFTED ROUGHLY AND MADE A LOUD POPPING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,487.
I HAVE HAD 2 FLAT TIRES FROM THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR, DUE TO CRACKED AND SPLIT COLLARS THAT HAVE DETERIORATED. THE COLLAR WAS MISSING AND CHRYSLER DENIED ANY PROBLEMS. I HAVE REPLACED ALL 4 SENSORS AND HAVE RETAINED 3 OF THEM.. THE COLLARS COULD NOT BE SAVED AS THEY DETERIORATED UPON REMOVAL. THE REMAINING TWO WERE REPLACED TODAY AS THE COLLARS WERE SPLITTING AND SOON WOULD BREAK OFF AND POSSIBLE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE TWO FLATS OCCURRED IN MY DRIVEWAY, AND I DROVE TO HAVE THE LAST TWO REPLACED.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A FOUR LANE STREET, WITH NO WARNING, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. THE BRIGHTS DID NOT WORK EITHER. TURNED THE SWITCH OFF & ON, NOTHING. TURNED CAR OFF FOR 10 MINUTES THEN BACK ON, BUT HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. HAD TO DRIVE HOME IN THE DARK, AND OF COURSE I GOT PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE! THANKFULLY ONLY RECEIVED A WARNING! FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS THE HEADLIGHTS & BRIGHTS ARE WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO WHEN THEY'LL WORK OR NOT. THEY WILL WORK AND THEN JUST GO OUT WHILE WE'RE DRIVING; OR SOMETIMES THEY WON'T SWITCH ON AT ALL. NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN! FUSE & RELAYS ARE FINE. VERY DANGEROUS!

WHEN IT STALLS SOMETIMES YOU HAVE NO POWER AS IF THE BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. THEN POWER COMES BACK AFTER WHILE AND YOU CAN START THE VAN. THE TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES WILL NOT SHIFT. THE CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, ABS LIGHT COME ON AND THE MILLAGE FLICKERS DIMLY. A LOT OF STRANGE THINGS HAPPENING. THE CHRYSLER DEALER HAS REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR SAYING IT WAS CAUSING HIGH VOLTAGE. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. NEXT THEY REPLACED THE ABS MODULE SAYING IT WAS SHORTING OUT. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SHE CALLED AROUND AND FOUND DEALER IN OWNER'S PROXIMITY WHO HAD EXPERIENCE WITH PROBLEM AND MADE APPOINTMENT. TECHNICIAN FOUND NO FAULT CODES, BUT BASED ON HIS EXPERIENCE REPLACED EGR (EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION) VALVE WITH ONE OF NEWER AND BETTER DESIGN THAN WHAT CAME ORIGINALLY FROM THE FACTORY. NEW PART# 4593888-AA (VALVE E 140380) AND 5277928 (GASKET 140620). OWNER DROVE VEHICLE FOR 500 MILES WITH NO STALLING INCIDENTS, THEN WASHED, WAXED AND DETAILED IT INSIDE AND OUT TO LIKE NEW CONDITION. OWNER'S WIFE NOW AGAIN DRIVING VEHICLE WHICH NOW HAS 1,046 MILES SINCE REPAIR WITH NO FURTHER STALLING INCIDENTS TO DATE. VEHICLE APPEARS TO IDLE SMOOTHER AT STOP LIGHTS, TOO. (THE IDLING ISSUE WAS MINOR, BUT HAD BEEN WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE BRAND NEW). VEHICLE NOW HAS 64,900 MILES. OWNER WONDERS IF CHRYSLER EGR VALVES ON TOWN & COUNTRY ENGINES SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO RECALL FOR IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT WHICH WAS PERFORMED IN FEBRUARY 2016 BY BRIGGS CHRYSLER IN LAWRENCE KS. WE HAD EXPERIENCED NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR IN 100,000 MILES PRIOR TO RECALL. AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR, WE HAVE EXPERIENCED 2 OCCURRENCES OF ENGINE STOPPAGE, BOTH AT SLOW HIGHWAY SPEEDS (~55 MPH), ONCE ON INTERSTATE 70 (ILLINOIS) AND ONCE ON MISSOURI STATE ROUTE 5. ON EACH OCCASION, THE ENGINE STOPPED AND ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS TURNED OFF. DUE TO LOW TRAFFIC VOLUMES THE INCIDENTS PRESENTED NO HAZARD. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE, A RESTART WAS DONE IN BOTH CASES AND THE TRIP CONTINUED. THE FIRST WAS IN APRIL THIS YEAR AND THE 2ND WAS 2 WEEKS AGO. THE TOTAL MILEAGE DRIVEN FROM DATE OF RECALL WORK PERFORMED TO THE FIRST STOPPAGE WAS APPROX 4,000 MILES. THE MILEAGE BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND STOPPAGES WAS APPROX 3,000 MILES. I CONTACTED BOTH THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED THE RECALL AND CHRYSLER CORP CS. THE DEALER SERVICE REP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE ISSUE. TONIGHT A CHRYSLER CS REP TOLD ME IT HAD TO GO TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS (AT MY EXPENSE). I FIND BOTH ANSWERS UNSATISFACTORY. IN THE FIRST CASE ON I-70, IF WE HAD NOT BEEN IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITH LOW SPEED LIMITS AND SINGLE LANE TRAFFIC, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIGH POTENTIAL TO ADD MYSELF AND MY WIFE TO THE 57 DEATHS ALREADY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ONGOING PROBLEM.

I CALLED CHRYSLER LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY SAID SURE COME ON IN AND WE WILL HAVE A LOOK SO I DID WHEN I GOT TO THE SHOP THEY SAID WE NEED YOU TO BE AWARE OF A DIAGNOSTIC FEE $125.00 WHAT THE HELL IS THIS I ASKED I TOLD THEM IT'S STILL FAIRLY NEW MINT CONDITION AND I TOLD YOU THE PROBLEM THEY SAID WE WILL NOT LOOK AT IT UNLESS YOU SIGN THAT YOU AGREE TO A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THIS IS RAPE, YET ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEFECT THIS FAULTY PART CAN CAUSE A FIRE AND IS A HAZARD AND A VIOLATION. AFTER LEAVING THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I HEADED OVER TO AUTO ZONE THEY HAD THE REPLACEMENT AND EVEN OFFER A LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR THIS REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHT SWITCH SO WITH TAX AND ALL I SPENT $65.00 AND REPLACED THE PART AND IT'S BEEN 4 MONTHS NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS I DID KEEP THE OLD FAULTY PART JUST IN CASE. SO I AM HERE TO TELL THE NHTSA AND ANYONE READING THIS REPLACE THIS PART BEFORE YOU DIE IN A CAR FIRE ANS SAVE MONEY DOING IT AND AS A BONUS AUTO ZONE HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY.

PER PREVIOUS COMPLAINT, THIS ALL STARTED HAPPENING AFTER REPLACING THE ORIGINAL FACTORY BATTERY. ORIGINAL FACTORY BATTERY WAS DURACELL 500 CCA. NEW BATTERY IS DURACELL ULTRA 800 CCA. REPORT FILED WITH CHRYSLER. FAMILY LOOKING TO FIND A NON-CHRYSLER REPLACEMENT VEHICLE (WAITING FOR AUTO SHOW SPECIALS LATER THIS MONTH), BUT IN REVIEWING THE ODI DATABASE ON OTHER VEHICLES CONSIDERED AS REPLACEMENTS, HAVE DETERMINED THIS IS A SYSTEM WIDE PROBLEM AMONG MANY, MANY MANUFACTURERS. THE HEAD LAMPS STOPPED WORKING AN EVENING. THEY TURNED ON AND OFF FOR AWHILE AND NOW THEY JUST TURN ON FOR 1 SECOND WHEN I SATRT THE CAR AND THEN GO OFF.
ENGINE WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. INJECTOR MISFIRE, HARNESS KEEPS SHORTING OUT BECAUSE IT IS TO CLOSE TO THE MANIFOLD AND THE INSULATION KEEPS BURNING OFF. THIS CAUSES THE WARNING LIGHT TO COME ON STATING TO STOP DRIVING IMMEDIATELY AND GET SERVICE. THIS HAS CAUSED CHRONIC REPLACEMENT OF WIRING AND INJECTOR PARTS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. STARTED IN MARCH 2016 ,AGAIN IN MAY AND NOW JUNE OMPARTS USED TO REPLACE. I CANT AFFORD TO KEEP DOING THIS, RECAL SHOULD BE DONE TO FIX CHRONIC PROBLEM.
