Going about 30 mph with NO WARNING, The traction control light came on it beeped and the car stalled the power steering died as did the brakes. I tried to stop the car and the ABS kicked in but not fully. I was able to yank the steering wheel enough to round a corner avoid another vehicle and get to a safe place to stop. I restarted the car and it was as if nothing occurred. I believe there is a serious flaw in the computer system and an upgrade is needed!!! I used and OBD II reader and there were no codes that came up. The car only has 89,000 miles on it. This is a serious safety concern. If I had stalled on a highway on a curve, with no real way to stop it or steer it in time with out serious struggle, the outcome could have endangered not only myself and those in my car but other motorists!! Looking online I’m terrified to even drive this vehicle… apparently this is happening a lot with this model. (HOW!!!???) Someone really needs to look at this problem!

The anti-traction warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that he turned off and restarted the vehicle and was able to continue to drive. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
Several weeks ago while driving at night the headlights suddenly went out creating a very dangerous situation. When I tried to turn the lights back on they blinked a couple of times and then remained off. Over the next several days the lights would come on sometimes and other times they would not. I changed the light switch but that did not help. I sent the TIPM in to a repair center but they have been unable to identify a problem with it.09
The headlights will go off and stay off unexpectedly while driving at night in the dark. Lights will not go back on for days. Then they will work for a random amount of time, then stop working again while driving in the dark again. You may examine this vehicle if you would like. I think that driving in the dark and the lights unexpectedly going off definitely puts my life and the lives of my family and other drivers at great risk. This problem has been confirmed at my local Firestone auto repair center. Neither the police or the manufacturer have inspected the vehicle yet. The tail lights, the dash lights, everything else works just fine. Neither the headlights or the brights will work. This has been going on for a few months. Why so long? The lights will work for weeks at a time, then unexpectedly shut off and stop working for days. Right now they are not working. I see from doing research on the internet that this seems to be a common problem with these vehicles, and I think that NTSB need to do something about it, like issuing a recall. This is a flawed design!
Keys (pod) get stuck in ignition cannot remove them and cannot shift out of park to remove them, the shifting piece won't move out of park but the car start but can't shift gears or remove the key pod.
Van will suddenly shut engine down resulting in loss of brakes, power steering and all other systems. Van must need to be restarted by turning key off and back to run position. Seems to happen at lower speeds and is an intermittent issue that can’t be duplicated on command. Is becoming more frequent. (3 times in 2 days most recently) Will stall in the middle of the road and unable to safely move over. Tractions control light will turn on.
Engine stops while driving. Has happened multiple times and is extremely dangerous. Have been told it is a bad TIPM which was recalled on other models, but not mine????
Headlight switch was turned on and headlights came on then went off. Turned light switch off and then on again and the lights came on and then went out again. This happened about dark time and I was 30 minutes from home. Cannot trust vehicle to drive at night as this has happened several times as I test the switch at home. Contacted dealership and all they could tell me is there is not a recall on this issue. No warning lamps came on. Can only drive during daytime as I cannot trust lights.

The contact stated that the vehicle was shifted into neutral and restarted and the vehicle to regained functionality. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 11V139000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 243,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the headlights would randomly turn off, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. When the failure occurred, the headlights could not be reactivated. Additionally, the braking system would randomly malfunction causing an extended stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the TIPM was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. Previously while driving at various speeds the vehicle had experienced jerking and shaking. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the transmission. The failure mileage was 151,000.
When starting the ignition there were times the vehicle would not start or would suddenly stop when driving. Before purchasing this van the starter the fuel pump were replace almost three years (owner) later the starter was replaced and continued to have the same issue. Our Dodge Chrysler mechanic now say a external fuel pump relay must be place and have wiring. The risk is the safety of the driver and passengers when driving and suddenly the car stopping cause a accident and injuries. The vehicle was inspected by the Dodge and Chrysler dealership where an external fuel pump relay and new wiring to prevent this incidents from happening again. No warning messages until the symptoms of failing to turn on the vehicle or sudden stops in the road.
Installed the car seat in my car as I’m expecting my little one in 7 weeks or less, and realized after buckling in and anchoring down properly, the car seat itself is wobbly and insecure in the base. It clicks in at the bottom of the base, but at the top there’s nothing it clicks into and you can lift the top part of the bottom of the car seat out of the base.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. SHE WAS APPROACHIGN A STOP SIGN INTERSECTION WHEN THIS OCCURRED. ALL 3 OF MY KIDS IN THE CAR. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE AFFECTED. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. VERY DANGEROUS. THERE ARE MULTIPLE TRAIN CROSSINGS IN MY AREA AND MY WIFE AND I DRIVE THESE ROUTES FREQUENTLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON CONCERN BASED ON THE COMPLAINTS AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I URGE ANYONE WHO EXPERIENCES THIS TO REPORT IT TO THE NHTSA. I URGE THE NHTSA TO OPEN AN INVESTIGATION AND INITIATE A RECALL ON THIS MATTER WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY AFFECT THOUSANDS OF DRIVERS (VEHICLE OWNERS) AS WELL AS THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.
The contact's father owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact's father had the vehicle serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V373000 (Electrical System, Air Bags) at a dealer. After the contact's father passed, the contact took possession of the vehicle. The contact stated that as she attempted to unlock the vehicle with her key fob, the vehicle failed to unlock. The contact was able to enter the vehicle with the key however, the vehicle failed to start. Due to the failure, the contact towed the vehicle to a dealer. After a few days in their possession, the contact was given an estimate for the replacement of a new battery. The next day, she was contacted again and was informed that the ignition switch also needed to be replaced. The dealer linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V373000 (Electrical System, Air Bags) however, the recall vehicle had been previously repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The lock on the driver side rear door, sliding door, keeps making a loud buzzing noise every time it locks and unlocks. I believe it might be the lock actuator. The door locks and unlocks fine but the buzzing noise is extremely loud. There are no warning lights and it has not been looked at by a mechanic.
I was driving about 30 mph when I couldn’t accelerate or brake. The power steering also went out. I saw the traction light on. As I tried to move to the shoulder, I almost got hit. I turned the van off and then restarted it. When it started back up, no lights were on. This has done this to me every time I’ve driven it in the past 2 weeks. It is a big safety issue. I’m scared to drive it. I just recently had the fuel injector and spark plugs replaced. This did not fix the issue.
VEHICLES IS SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. NO CODES SHOWN. MECHANIC CAN FIND REASON. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR A MONTH. STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHEN OF. I'M ABLE TO RESTART IT RIGHT AWAY AFTER PUTTING IT ON NEUTRAL.
KEY FALLS OUT OF IGNITION WHILE DRIVING

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. The contact stated that the issue was eventually fixed.

OVER THE LAST YEAR OUR VAN HAS RANDOMLY STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING BUT LUCKY IT HAPPENED ON SIDE ROADS WHERE WE COULD PULL OVER AND THEN RESTART IT. WE TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT TOLD US THERE WAS A RECALL BUT OUR PARTICULAR VIN WAS NOT PART OF IT. THEN ITT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BUT IT WAS ALSO COVID TIME SO WE WERE NOT TRAVELING NEAR AS MUCH. THEN THIS WEEK IT HAPPENED TO ME AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT, REGAINING ALL FUNCTIONS. THEN YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 4 CHILDREN DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC GOING 40 MPH ON A VERY BUSY 4 LANE ROAD WHEN MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON (LIKE IT DOES EVERYTIME THIS HAPPENS) AND I LOST POWER TO THE ENGINE, POWER BREAKS, AND POWER STEERING. I HAD NO WAY TO MOVE MY CAR OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE SPOT AND HERE I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A VERY BUSY ROAD SCARED TO DEATH. THIS TIME MY CAR WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON LIKE IT HAD IN THE PAST. THAT WAS THE SCARIEST DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE AS I WATCHED CARS SWERVE TO AVOIDING HITTING US WITH MY PRECIOUS CARGO INSIDE. THANK GOD A POLICE OFFER GOT TO US BEFORE THE WORST COULD HAPPEN. CHRYSLER IS LUCKY BECAUSE IF SOMETHING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED THEY WOULD HAVE HAD THE LARGEST LAWSUIT ON THEIR HANDS SINCE THEY DENIED MY RECALL REQUEST. NOW MY CAR IS SITTING AT THE SHOP WAITING FOR THEM TO OPEN BACK UP IN 2 DAYS. I AM STILL SHAKING AND HAVING NIGHTMARES OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY LIFE YESTERDAY. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM NOW!!!
I HAVE RECEIVED TWO LETTERS FROM FCA US LLC. THE FIRST INDICATED THAT A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG'S THE LOGO, WHEN DEPLOYED, COULD CAUSE INJURY. THE SECOND, JUST RECEIVED, STATES; 'WE ARE EXTENDING THE ACTIVE RESTRAINT WARRANTY PERIOD BECAUSE SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT(EMPHASIS MINE) OF ONE OR BOTH OF THE FRONT SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT(S). THIS, IN MY OPINION, MEANS THAT I AM DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT HAS TWO BOMBS ON BOARD THAT COULD DETONATE AT ANYTIME. THIS IS HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY, ESPECIALLY IF THE VEHICLE IS TRANSIT IN A HIGH SPEED DRIVING ENVIRONMENT. FCA NEEDS TO BE REQUIRED TO DISABLE THIS 'SAFETY SYSTEM' SO THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE SAFELY USED WHILE PARTS ARE ORDERED TO REPLACE THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION. THE POTENTIAL FOR THE LOST OF LIFE BY AN INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN A SERIOUS LOSS OF LIFE IN A HIGH SPEED, CONGESTED ENVIRONMENT. WHO WOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR SUCH A SCENARIO? FCA, OR THE PEOPLE WHO CONTINUED TO DRIVE THEIR VEHICLES AFTER HAVING BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION? THE NHTSA NEEDS TO PROTECT THOSE OF US WHO HAVE LIMITED MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND WHO WILL BE FORCED TO USE OUR VEHICLES, KNOWING THAT WE ARE AT RISK AS WELL AS THOSE AROUND US. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. I RECOMMEND THAT FCA BE REQUIRED TO DISABLE THIS 'SAFETY'FEATURE, ORDER THE PARTS TO FIX IT ASAP INSTEAD OF KICKING THE SAFETY CAN DOWN THE ROAD FOR THE OWNERS TO DEAL WITH LATER AND AT THEIR EXPENSE. A CAREFUL READING OF THIS NOTICE IS CONVINCING EVIDENCE THAT THIS IS FCA'S STRATEGY TO AVOID THE COSTS OF AN IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT OF THEIR FAULTY COMPONENTS. I, AS WELL AS OTHERS, ARE COUNTING ON THE AGENCY TO PROTECT US FROM THIS THINLY DESIGNED SCAM AND SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. VIN# [XXX] ~ A 2010 CHRYSLER (T&C 230K MILES) AFTER TURNING VEHICLE ON OR WHILE DRIVING, THESE THINGS OFTEN HAPPEN: 1) FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON BY THEMSELVES.... 2) WINDOWS CANNOT BE ROLLED DOWN AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED 3) DASH LIGHTS COME ON (ESP, AIR BAG OFF, RPM, MPH, FUEL, ETC 4) ONE CANNOT OPEN THE CAR DOORS TO LET PEOPLE IN UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS OFF (ONLY THENNNN YOU CAN PUSH THE KEY FAB UNLOCK BUTTON AND LET PEOPLE IN....SO SAD).... TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WIRING HARNESS WAS CAUSING SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WOULD ACTUATE INDEPENDENTLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS PROVIDING ERRONEOUS INFORMATION. THE AIR BAGS AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDOWS OCCASIONALLY FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED WHILE DRIVING. THE DOOR SENSORS ALSO WOULD ACTUATE ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 232,000.*DT
THE CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHEN DRIVING. WE HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL & RESTART QUICKLY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. IT CAN BE CITY OR HIGHWAY. ALSO, WHEN CAR IS OFF WINDOWS RANDOMLY OPEN ON THEIR OWN. MOONROOF HAS LEAKED SINCE WE PURCHASED & REAR WINDOW FLUID WON'T WORK

CAR WAS SITTING IN THE GARAGE. THE DASH BOARD SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT BURNT STRAIGHT THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW.
ABOUT 4-5 YEARS AGO I HAD THE R)# RECALL PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE WIN MODULE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF RANDOMLY. NOW IN THE LAST YEAR IT HAS INTERMITTENTLY HAPPENED AROUND 10 TIMES THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF AND LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. I CALLED BOB RICHARDS CHRYSLER IN GRANITEVILLE SC TO REDO THE RECALL, BECAUSE I WAS A SERVICE WRITER AND MANAGER FOR 9 YEARS AT BRICKNER'S PARK CITY CHRYSLER IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN. AND WE USED TO REDO THEM ALL THE TIME BUT THEY WOULD NOT SO I THOUGHT I WOULD NOTIFY BECAUSE THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS.
MY VEHICLE SHUTSDOWN INTERMITTENTLY RIGHT AFTER STARTING IT EITHER REMOTELY OR VIA THE KEY. THIS TENDS TO HAPPEN AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS FOR A BIT. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN - NO POWER STEERING ETC. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE NOT REPLACED ANYTHING YET. A GOOGLE SEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. ANY HELP OR DIRECTION TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WOULD HELP.
WHEN TRYING TO PUT CAR IN MANUAL MODE THE SHIFTER DOESN'T CHANGE GEARS. THIS CAUSES AN ISSUE WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT TO LOWER GEARS IN BAD WEATHER. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS ON THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS AS THO IT IS COMPLETELY A DESIGN FLAW. THERE IS A PLASTIC PIECE THAT RUBS ON THE WIRES AND SHORTS THEM OUT EVENTUALLY CAUSING YOU NOT TO SWITCH GEARS MANUALLY, WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IN BAD WEATHER
VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. VEHICLE HAS TURNED OFF (LIGHTS, STEERING, BRAKING, ELECTRICAL) AT 45MPH WHILE MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY, VEHICLE ALMOST HIT MEDIAN BEFORE VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. VEHICLE ALSO SHUTOFF AT 65 MPH WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY.
FOR THE LAST 2-1-2 TO 3 YEARS I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WHERE ALL OF MY INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH - THEY WILL START FLASHING ON AND OFF, AUDIO ALARM (DINGING) GOES OFF, SPEEDOMETER, RPM/TEMP GAGES REPEATEDLY GOES BACK AND FORTH FROM MAX TO MIN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL COME ON. AT TIMES TURING OFF THE IGNITION WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND AT OTHERS THEY JUST STOP BY THEMSELVES. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THAT I CAN TEMPORARY ALLEVIATE THESE PROBLEMS FOR A FEW WEEKS TO A COUPLE OF MONTHS BY REMOVING THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OFF OF THE BATTERY AND PULLING THE 60 AMP MAIN FUSE FOR 30 - 60MINUTES. GOOGLE SITES STATES THIS PROBLEM IS DUE TO A BUS/GROUNDING PROBLEM. I FINALLY TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A CHRYSLER SHOP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A SHORTED CABLE THAT CONNECTED TO CENTER MONITOR OF MY VES SYSTEM, WHICH WAS ALSO BAD. THE LAST TIME I USED THE VES SYSTEM WAS TWO MONTHS AGO SO THIS DOES NOT LOGICALLY EXPLAIN WHY I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS. ALSO THIS SAME CABLE SHORTED OUT CAUSING THE MONITOR TO GO BAD AND WAS REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 7 YEARS AGO BY THE SAME DEALER WHO NOW HAS THE VEHICLE AND THE INDICATION AT THAT TIME WAS THAT MY VES SYSTEM WAS INOPERABLE. AS THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING IT PRESENTS A SAFETY PROBLEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE ONLY ACTION THAT THEY COULD TAKE WAS TO CALL THE DEALER, ADVISE THEM THAT A COMPLAINT HAD BEEN LODGED AND WRITE UP THE COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE CUTS OFF DURING DRIVING, HAVE DIFFICULTY STARTING. TOWED TWICE. BATTERY AND STARTER CHANGED THE SAME RESULT. PROBLEM WITH IGNITION SYSTEM WIN MODULE. I FOUND A RECALL ON THE MODULE(R03/NHTSA 14V-373 ) WHICH THE DEALER WILL NOT HONOR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
AT RANDOM TIMES, PERHAPS ONCE EVERY 200 MILES AVERAGE, THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY TURN OFF. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS DURING TURNS OR WHEN SPEEDING UP FROM A STOP. THE ENGINE STARTS RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN, BUT THE VEHICLE MUST BE PUT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK TO RESTART - AGAIN, IN MID-TURN OR AS TRAFFIC IS ACCELERATING AROUND ME. THIS ISSUE IS LISTED ON THE NHTSA RECALL SITE (CAMPAIGN 14V373000), BUT IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN.

PLEASE PLEASE CONSIDER THIS ISSUE AS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS DEFECT TO THE VEHICLE.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2010 TOWN AND COUNTRY ON 10/12/2020 WHEN THE VAN SUDDENLY DIED AND AS A RESULT LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS IS THE SIXTH OR SEVENTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED SO SHE KNOWS THIS IS A POSSIBILITY AND IS PREPARED BUT THIS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE SO MANY DOCUMENTED INSTANCES AND STILL NO RECALL. VAN HAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000 MILES.
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A RURAL, TWO LANE ROAD AT 45MPH. THE ROAD WAS SLIGHTLY HILLY AND CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR. THE VAN ABRUPTLY LOST POWER AND I COULD NOT STEER. I WAITED FOR IT TO COAST TO A STOP, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RE-STARTED THE KEY. THE VAN STARTED RIGHT UP AND I CONTINUED DRIVING.
I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AT A CITY BLOCK INTERSECTION. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STARTED TO ACCELERATE, THEN THE VAN IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I COULD NOT STEER, ACCELERATE, BRAKE. THE VAN SLOWED TO A STOP AND I TURNED THE KEY TO ON (IT HAD TWISTED TO ACC ON ITS OWN.) THE VAN STARTED BACK UP AND I CONTINUED ON MY DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY WITH MY 3 KIDS AND THE VAN SHUTDOWN WITHOUT WARNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT BECAME A VERY DANGEROUS EVENT SINCE WE DID NOT HAVE BREAKING AND VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. AFTER, GETTING TO THE SHOULDER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN, ALTHOUGH IT HAD A FULL TANK OF FUEL. THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE ON POSITION. AND IT LOCK THE STARTER IN THE IGNITION PHASE AS IF I WAS HOLDING THE KEY ON AFTER THE CAR STARTS. I CYCLED THE KEY AND NOTICED THAT IF I HELD IT RIGHT, IT WOULD NOT LOCK THE STARTER IN THE STARTING POSITION. HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. I SAW THERE WERE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND ONE ABOUT THE IGNITION.

VAN WOULDN'T DRIVE OVER 45 RPMS HAD TO EXIT FREEWAY FAST. RPMS ACTING SPORADICALLY FROM 0 TO 5 DROPPING RAPIDLY AND INCREASING. MY LIFE WAS AT RISKED DUE TO FAST TRAFFIC APPROACHING. SEMI'S, CARS AND TRUCKS HEADED TOWARDS ME AT 75 MPH.

WITH NO WARNING, ALL DRIVING POWER WENT OFF AND I COULDN'T STEER OR BRAKE. I COULD STILL PUT THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I HAD TO WAIT FOR THE VAN TO COAST TO A STOP. THEN I TURNED THE KEY TO ON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP. THANKFULLY, I DIDN'T GET HIT OR DRIVE INTO A DITCH. I HAD A VAN FULL OF KIDS AND WAS SO SCARED.
