No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that she proceeded to drive the vehicle to the residence. The contact was able to reach her residence in time to exit the vehicle, and to call her husband who quickly rushed over to extinguish the fire. A fire department report was not filed. The contact stated that the door latch was melted and the door was no longer lockable. The contact mentioned during the failure she inhaled smoke and was coughing but no physical injuries were sustained. The contact received medical attention for her smoke inhalation. The local dealer was contacted and the contact was advised that the soonest appointment available for a diagnostic was early next year. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,633.
I BOUGHT A VEHICLE 3 DAYS AGO. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TIRES SOUNDING LIKE IT WAS WOBBLING. I TOLD THE OWNER AND OTHER EMPLOYEES THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT HEAR IT BUT HAD THE TIRES BALANCED AND THE ROTORS TURNED. I RAN MY KIDS TO BASKETBALL PRACTICE AND LATER ON THAT NIGHT THE TIRE SOUNDS GOT WORSE AND WE'RE MUCH LOUDER. I WAS DRIVING HOME AND JUST TURNED INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE FLEW OFF. THE TIRE AND RIM WE'RE TRAVELING THROUGH A YARD AT 30+ MPH. I SLAMMED TO THE GROUND AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TERRIFIYNG. THE FLYING TIRE AND RIM WOULD HAVE FATALLY INJURED SOMEONE IF THIS WAS IN THE DAYTIME HOURS.
LEFT HAND SLIDING DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES WHILE VEHICLE IS AT REST WITH NO ONE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SPORADICALLY FOR 2 MONTHS.

CAR CAN BE DRIVEN OFF WITH THE REAR HATCH OPEN, WITH NO WARNING. THIS LED TO AN ANIMAL CARRIER FALLING OUT ON THE ROADWAY, WITH A DANGER TO NOT ONLY THE ANIMAL, BUT ALSO TO THE TRAFFIC BEHIND. I HAVE OBSERVED OTHER VANS IN PARKING LOTS BEING DRIVEN OFF WITH THE HATCH OPEN AND ITEMS FALLING OUT OF THE BACK AS THEY DROVE OFF. MY LEXUS RX300 WILL DING IF A HATCH IS NOT SECURE, BUT EVEN THIS IS NOT SAFE ENOUGH. I THINK A LOUD WARNING SHOULD BE GIVEN IF THE HATCH IS NOT SECURE AND CAR IS PLACED IN DRIVE.
WE STOPPED TO EAT AT A RESTAURANT. I WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. MY HUSBAND UNLOCKED THE CAR AND I PULLED ON THE DOOR HANDLE, BUT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN. WE TRIED A FEW TIMES AND STILL COULDN'T OPEN IT. MY HUSBAND TRIED FROM OUTSIDE OF THE CAR AND COULDN'T OPEN IT THAT WAY EITHER. I WAS STUCK IN THE CAR. FORTUNATELY I AM A LIMBER PERSON AND WAS ABLE TO CLIMB OUT THROUGH THE 2ND ROW. HOWEVER, IF A PASSENGER WERE DISABLED OR TOO LARGE TO CLIMB TO THE BACK, THEY WOULD BE TRAPPED IN THE CAR. *TR
ON 4/5/14 MY PASSENGER SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING CAR DOOR CLOSED ON ME WHILE I WAS PUTTING MY DAUGHTER IN HER CAR SEAT. WHEN I PUSHED AGAINST IT TO TRIGGER IT TO OPEN ITSELF UP AGAIN, IT BEGAN CLOSING AGAIN ON ME WITHOUT ANY BUTTONS BEING PRESSED. I THEN SAT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION, AND WATCHED THE DOOR OPEN AND CLOSE ALL BY ITSELF. I PRESSED THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND WITHIN A FEW SECONDS THE SAME PASSENGER SIDE SLIDER OPENED ON ITS OWN. WHEN I PUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION AND STARTED THE CAR IT STOPPED AND WE DROVE AWAY. WHEN WE REACHED OUR DESTINATION AND TURNED OFF THE CAR, THE DOOR STARTED OPENING AND CLOSING AGAIN. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, IT STOPPED AND DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN FOR ALMOST A MONTH. ON 5/3/14, THE SAME PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR BEGAN OPENING AND CLOSING ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS GETTING MY CHILDREN AND STROLLER OUT OF THE CAR. ONCE I LOCKED THE CAR DOOR AND WALKED AWAY, IT STOPPED. IT DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL 5/16/14, WHEN IT CLOSED ON MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER'S RIGHT MIDDLE FINGER WHILE SHE HAD HER HAND ON THE DOOR FRAME ABOUT TO CLIMB INTO THE CAR. THE AUTOMATIC SAFETY FEATURE ALSO MALFUNCTIONED AND THE DOOR COMPLETELY LATCHED CLOSED ON HER FINGER. WE IMMEDIATELY GOT HER ICE FROM THE ESTABLISHMENT WE WERE PARKED IN FRONT OF, AND DROVE HER TO URGENT CARE. SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A POSSIBLE FRACTURE AND GIVEN A FINGER BRACE. SHE CONTINUES TO WEAR THE BRACE A WEEK LATER AND STILL HAS BRUISING, SWELLING AND LIMITED MOBILITY WITH THE FINGER. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER 5/17/14 AND AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR THE ENTIRE DAY, THEY COULDN'T REPLICATED THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE COULDN'T FIX IT. WE DROPPED IT OFF AGAIN 5/20/14 AND THEY'VE HAD IT EVER SINCE AND ARE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY! *TR

THE CARGO DOOR OF THE CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY RENTED FROM ALAMO AT KE-AHOLE AIRPORT ON JAN. 18, 2012 IS ELECTRIC AND DOES NOT HAVE A WARNING DEVICE OR STOP SENSOR WHEN BEING OPERATED (UNCERTAIN OF THE MODEL YEAR- 2010 OR 2011) . MY WIFE DID NOT REALIZE THE CARGO DOOR WAS CLOSING AS SHE WAS WEARING A HAT AND WALKING BY IT. THE DOOR CAME DOWN ON THE CENTER OF HER HEAD CAUSING SEVERE PAIN. AS I AM A PHYSICIAN I EXAMINED HER AND MADE THE APPROPRIATE DECISION. WE RETURNED THE CAR TO ALAMO RENTAL AND I SPOKE TO ADDIS, THE MANAGER, WHO PROMISED TO REPORT THE ACCIDENT TO HIS COMPANY. FORTUNATELY, AS OF TODAY MY WIFE IS IMPROVED BUT THE POSSIBILITY OF SUBDURAL HEMATOMA OVER THE NEXT 30 DAYS IS STILL A POSSIBILITY AND SHE WILL HAVE TO BE OBSERVED FOR ANY DEVELOPING SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS. CHRYSLER IS NEGLIGENT IN THIS MATTER AND SHOULD INSTALL THE APPROPRIATE SAFETY DEVICES ON ALL SUCH VEHICLES. *TR

HAVE HAD VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS AND PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. HAVE COME OUT FROM STORES TO FIND THE DOOR OPEN BECAUSE IT HAD NOT SHUT PROPERLY. IT ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE THEN REOPENS THEN TRIES TO CLOSE AND GOES THROUGH THIS PROCESS ABOUT 10 TIMES BEFORE HAVING TO MANUALLY SHUT DOOR. RESEARCHED ONLINE AND SEE ITS A CONSTANT PROBLEMS FOR OTHERS AS WELL. DOOR ALSO OPENED ON ME WHILE PUMPING GAS, AND WHILE I WAS QUICK ENOUGH TO REMOVE THE GAS BEFORE HITTING, THE DOOR DID HIT THE GAS CAP AND SHOVE IT INTO THE VAN CAUSING A DENT FROM THE PRESSURE OF THE DOOR.. *TR
