BRAKE PADS REPLACED AT 44,000 MILES. AT 46,000 MILES THE BRAKES STARTED VIBRATING THE ENTIRE CAR (LIKE ABS PULSATING X10) REGARDLESS OF SPEED. DEALER FOUND LOCKED CALIPER PINS WHICH HAD WARPED THE ROTORS ON THE LEFT SIDE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. SO COMMON THAT CHRYSLER DECIDED TO POST A BULLETIN, INSTEAD OF A RECALL BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T PUT ENOUGH THOUGHT INTO THE ISSUE TO FIND AN EFFECTIVE FIX. MEANWHILE, MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IS IN JEOPARDY. *TR
IN JUNE OF 2014 WE TOOK OUR VAN TO SHIVLEY MOTORS CHAMBERSBURG PA FOR INSPECTION.WAS TOLD OF RECALL AND THE SWITCH WAS DISCONNECTED. IT IS NOW ALMOST APRIL OF 2015 AND THE SWITCH HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. CONTACTED DEALER AND THEY SAID PART NOT AVAILABLE. CALLED NHTSA AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE BEING SHIPPED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. STILL NO REPAIR. HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT CHRYSLER ONLY TO BE PUT ON HOLD FOR AS HIGH AS 35 PLUS MINUTES AND STILL NO HELP. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WITH FOB. HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM SINCE. LOCAL DEALER (CROWN CHRYSLER JEEP, DUBLIN OH) PROPOSED "POSSIBLE" FIX BY REPLACING SOME ELECTRICAL COMPONENT ( $700.00+ NON-WARRANTY, OUT OF POCKET) DURING SUMMER OF 2014. PROBLEM CONTINUES TO THIS DATE AND LOOKING AT REGISTERED COMPLAINTS I WOULD GUESS THE PREVIOUS OWNER OR DEALERSHIP (GALEANA CHRYSLER JEEP, INC, FT MYERS, FL DECIDED TO PASS THE PROBLEM TO THE NEXT OWNER AND LET THEM/ME DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM. ALSO, REAR WINDOW VENT SWITCH WAS DISCONNECTED @ CROWN DURING SUMMER OF 2014. NEITHER CROWN OR GALEANA HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT AS OF THIS DATE. VEHICLE WOULDN'T START ON VACATION. BATTERY WAS FINE. CHARGED IT AND STARTED DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLE STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. GOT TO DEALERSHIP AND FOUND OUT IT WAS TIPM. SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE ELECTRICAL NOT MECHANICAL. TIPM CONTROLS ALL SAFETY AND IGNITION ON VEHICLE. PUT MYSELF AND FAMILY, CHILDREN AT RISK FOR FAULTY TIPM. PAID $1100 TO HAVE FUNCTIONING CAR IN 1 CAR FAMILY. WAY HOME, AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON. WENT TO DEALERSHIP AT HOME TO FIND PARTS OF TIPM NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY DISABLING AIR BAG FUNCTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGED THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES MADE A LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE DELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH IN JUNE 2014 AND I HAD THE SWITCH DISABLED AS PER THE RECALL NOTICE. THE REPLACEMENT PART IS STILL UNAVAILABLE IN MARCH 2015. I TRAVEL WITH MY DOGS IN CRATES IN THE BACK OF MY VAN AND THIS MEANS LESS VENTILATION FOR THEM. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT CHRYSLER HAS PROBABLY FIGURED THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITHOUT MANUFACTURING THE PART TO COMPLETE THE RECALL. A CALL TO THEIR GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER ASSURED ME THAT MY "CALL WAS IMPORTANT TO (THEM)" BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ANSWER IN THE 25 MINUTES I WAS ON HOLD, WHICH GAVE ME TIME TO FILL OUT THIS COMPLAINT FORM WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR THEM TO ANSWER. *TR
TIPM FAILURE WHICH LEFT CAR INOPERABLE. *TR
MY 6 YEAR OLD SON HIT THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE AUTOMATIC DOOR THE SAME TIME I HIT THE IT CAUSING THE DOOR TO CLOSE ON HIS HEAD. IT CLOSED ON HIS HEAD WITH TREMENDOUS FORCE AND PRESSURE BEFORE RELEASING LEAVING HIM WITH A LARGE BUMP ON THE SIDE OF HIS HEAD AND SORE. IT TOOK A FEW SECONDS TO RELEASE. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER CLOSED WITH THAT MUCH PRESSURE AS IT COULD HAVE BROKEN A BONE AND POTENTIALLY WORSE. THE DOOR SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AND RELEASED AS SOON AS IT TOUCHED MY SON. THE SAFETY MECHANISM OF THIS DOOR IS NOT SAFE AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS HARM. THE DOOR NEEDS TO CLOSE SLOWER AND LIGHTER. AS SOON AS ANYTHING IS FELT IN THE WAY IT SHOULD RELEASE IMMEDIATELY AND NOT CONTINUE TO TRY TO CLOSE. *TR

THE MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD SCREEN SAYS "SERVICE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM" AND "BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE". THE MESSAGE SYSTEM FOR THE FAILURE CONTINUES TO DING INTERMITTENTLY WHILE I AM DRIVING, WHICH IS VERY ANNOYING. I TOOK THE VAN TO MY DEALER. THE ESTIMATE TO REPLACE THE REAR FACIA HARNESS AND THE BODY SIDE OF THE CONNECTOR C200 TO SEE IF POWER, GROUND AND CAN-C ARE PRESENT AT THE BLIND SPOT SENORS IS A MINIMUM OF $450 (PARTS AND LABOR). THIS MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE SYSTEM COULD RUN WELL OVER $1000 AND POSSIBLY UP TO $3,000. MY VAN SITS IN A HEATED GARAGE 7 MONTHS A YEAR WHILE WE GO SOUTH. IT IS ALWAYS MAINTAINED, AND IT IS WASHED WEEKLY FOR THE 5 MONTHS WE USE IT. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART! THE BACKORDER IS OVER 2 MONTHS SO I KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MANY PEOPLE. SO I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE IT WITHOUT BENEFIT OF THE WARNING SYSTEM, WHICH I RELY ON TO KNOW THERE IS A VEHICLE IN MY BLIND SPOT. I EXPERIENCED A BACKORDER ON MY 2007 VAN FOR A REAR AIR CONDITIONER, WHICH I WAS WITHOUT FOR AN ENTIRE HOT SUMMER! EVENTUALLY CHRYSLER ISSUED A RECALL AND PAID FOR THE PART/LABOR, BUT THAT TOOK A COUPLE OF YEARS. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING AND CHRYSLER SHOULD GET ON TOP OF THE PROBLEM AND GET THE NEEDED PARTS INTO PRODUCTION! RIDICULOUS WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS. I ALSO PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM CNA WHEN I BOUGHT THE 2011 VAN. CNA INITIALLY TOLD ME THEY WOULD COVER THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM. WHEN THE DEALER REPORTED THAT IS WAS "CORROSION", CNA REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. ANOTHER $1200 SPENT ON A WORTHLESS WARRANTY!! *TR

TIPM FAILURE FIRST STARTED PRESENTING AS DIFFICULTY STARTING APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AGO, THEN WENT AWAY FOR A BIT. TODAY THE CAR FAILS TO START AT ALL. TOLD THAT IT WAS TIPM AND THAT THE COST IS $$$ JUST FOR THE PART..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR CONDITIONER TURNED ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT BOTH REAR DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LARRY H. MILLER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM SANDY (10905 AUTO MALL DR, SANDY, UT 84070, 801-590-0465) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL AND TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULES WERE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
VEHICLE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES PRIOR WITH A WOBBLE/SWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED. AFTER ANOTHER 20 MILES CLINKS DEVELOPED FROM RIGHT REAR. THE FINAL INCIDENT HAD THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL SEEMINGLY LOCK CAUSING ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A SUDDEN STOP. AS IT TURNS OUT THE VEHICLE HAD 2 RIGHT REAR SWING ARM MOUNTING BOLTS MISSING AND THE OTHER 2 SHEARED OFF. THIS CAUSED THE RIGHT REAR TIRE TO CONTACT THE INNER WHEEL WELL CUTTING IT. ADDITIONALLY THERE WERE 2 BOLTS MISSING FROM THE LEFT SWING ARM MOUNT. HAD THIS OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND NOT AS I WAS EXITING IT COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR UPDATED 07-08-15 *BF UPDATED 8/30/2017*CN

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. IN ADDITION, ALL THE VEHICLE DOORS FAILED TO LOCK OR UNLOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
WE PURCHASED THIS VAN IN 2013 FROM A DEALER. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE THE BLIND SIDE DETECTOR INTERMITTENTLY STOPPED WORKING AND THE DASH ALARM INDICATED THAT IT NEEDED SERVICE. SINCE WE DID NOT CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE GREAT EXPENSE TO REPAIR THE DETECTOR, WE WAITED TO HAVE IT SERVICED UNTIL THE TIME OF INSPECTION. AFTER A FEW MORE MONTHS THE SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY AND THE BACKUP CAMERA SYSTEM ALSO STOPPED WORKING. ON MAY 21, 2014 WE TOOK THE VAN TO A REPUTABLE MECHANIC AND AFTER MANY LABOR INTENSIVE HOURS, HE REMOVED THE DEFECTIVE MODULE FROM THE VEHICLE'S REAR WHEEL WELL. ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE CONNECTING PLUG AND WIRING BEGAN SMOKING AND HAD TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED TO PREVENT FIRE. THE MECHANIC SHOWED US THE CORRODED MODULE. THE POSITION OF THE MODULE IN THE WHEEL WELL HAD NATURALLY MADE IT SUSCEPTIBLE TO EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE TO WATER, SNOW AND SALT FROM TIRE BACK SPLASH CAUSING THE CORROSION. SEVERAL TIMES WE HAD SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, BUT THE ODOR NEVER LASTED LONG ENOUGH TO GET THE CAR TO A MECHANIC TO FIND THE SOURCE. WE REPLACED THE TIRES AND THE BRAKES, BUT THE SMELL STILL OCCASIONALLY CONTINUED. NOW WE KNOW THE SOURCE. WE SPENT $1500.00 TO REPLACE THE NECESSARY PARTS IN OUR CAR AND WE WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED. THIS DEFECT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE VAN AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY TO ANY PASSENGERS. SINCE THERE IS A SECOND MODULE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THE SAME PROBLEM WILL OCCUR TO THAT MODULE AND/OR BOTH WITHIN THE NEAR FUTURE. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LIT-UP ON THE DASH. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND CALLED MY DEALER WHICH WAS LOCATED 15 MILES AWAY AND WAS TOLD THAT I MAY NOT MAKE IT BACK TO THEM FOR SERVICE. THE ENGINE WOULD QUIT. I DID DRIVE TO THE DEALER WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER AT A COST OF $577.35. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT IDENTIFIED, 14V-634 DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TOWN AND COUNTRY BUT INCLUDES OTHER CHRYSLER, DODGE AND JEEP VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS VEHICLE BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS RECALL.
THE "SERVICE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR" NOTIFICATION CAME ON IN 09/2013 AT APPROX 35,900 MILES. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DETERMINED THAT THE SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. ON 5/20/2014 THE SAME MESSAGE APPEARED AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AS I AM NOW AT APPROX 47K MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY STATED THAT SINCE THE PART WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, THE PART DID NOT GET THE NORMAL 12K MILES/12 MONTH WARRANTY. THAT IS RIDICULOUS AS THIS IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR PART AND IT SHOULD SURELY LAST MORE THAN 9 MONTHS. THIS IS ONE OF THE SELLING SAFETY FEATURES OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER DOING A COUPLE OF SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER IN REGARD TO THE REPLACEMENT PARTS NOT BEING COVERED. I SAY THAT IF IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE, IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *TR
SEVERAL WEEKS AGO THE BLIND-SPOT ALERT SYSTEM IN MY 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MALFUNCTIONED. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS OVER 50,000 MILES (AND LESS THAN 55,000 MILES, AT THAT TIME) SO THIS WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. WHEN THE BUMPER WAS REMOVED, IT CONTAINED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF ROAD DEBRIS AND ROAD SALT. THE LEFT SIDE BLIND-SPOT ALERT MODULE WAS CORRODED. THEY QUOTED REPLACING THAT MODULE AT ABOUT $1200. *JS AT THE DEALER I SAW A REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY THAT HAS RELATIVELY SMALL OPENINGS THAT ALLOW DEBRIS TO ENTER WITHOUT A WAY FOR IT TO LEAVE. THIS MADE IT EASY FOR SALT AND DEBRIS TO ENTER AND DIFFICULT FOR IT TO LEAVE. THIS PROMOTED THE CORROSION. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER. THEIR POSITION WAS THEY DID NOT COVER CORROSION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I CAN FORWARD MY EMAIL EXCHANGE WITH CHRYSLER TO YOU. I VISITED A LOCAL COLLISION REPAIR SHOP. THEY REMOVED THE REAR BUMPER. WITH THEIR EXPERTISE, THEY WERE ABLE TO INFORM ME THAT THE OPENING THAT ALLOWED DEBRIS AND SALT TO ENTER WAS LOCATED WHERE THE REAR TIRES WOULD THROW ROAD DEBRIS AND ROAD SALT AT THE OPENING. CHRYSLER IS REPLACING BETWEEN 375 AND 400 OF THESE MODULES A WEEK ? AT OVER $1000 EACH, BEFORE LABOR TO INSTALL. *JS

SAFETY EQUIPMENT FAILURE. THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM QUIT WORKING AS WELL AS THE BACKUP SENSORS. WE PAID EXTRA FOR THESE SAFETY FEATURES AND THIS WAS A MAJOR FACTOR IN PURCHASING THIS MINI VAN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS STATED ON MULTIPLE TIMES THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH ALL CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THE DEALERS WOULD CHARGE APPROXIMATELY $2,200 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE / POORLY DESIGNED PARTS. THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION; PAY TWICE FOR SAFETY EQUIPMENT THAT WILL JUST GO BAD IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS A CLEAR CASE OF THE CHRYSLER SAFETY SYSTEMS SUFFERING FROM POOR ENGINEERING / PARTS. REQUESTING TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE MY DEALER HAS FAILED/UNABLE TO CORRECT THE SAFETY RECALL FOR THE "REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH" IN MY 2011 TOWN & COUNTRY. I WAS INFORMED OF THE RECALL LAST YEAR, AND WAITED OVER 6 MONTHS FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO ARRANGE FOR A FIX. FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, THEY ADVISED THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO BE COMPLETELY UNABLE TO FIX THE DEFECT BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT ARRANGE TO GET THE PARTS NEEDED. MY LAST REQUEST TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS THIS PAST NOVEMBER, THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING. THEY SAID THEY STILL DID NOT HAVE THE PART AND WOULD BE UNABLE TO REPAIR, AND HAD NO IDEA WHEN THEY WOULD EVER GET THE PART. IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME ON TWO OCCASIONS BY SOMEONE AT THE DEALERSHIP TO "JUST NEVER GET THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WET OR MOIST, AND YOU WILL BE OK". I USE MY VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT MY 4 YOUNG CHILDREN (AGES NEWBORN - 7YR). MY CHILDREN ARE TOO YOUNG TO REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM CARSEATS, UNLOCK DOORS AND EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE UNASSISTED IF THERE WAS EVER AN EMERGENCY/FIRE FROM THIS DEFECT. THIS IS WITH REGARD TO A CHRYSLER REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH SAFETY RECALL P25/NHTSA 14V-234. WE RECEIVED THE RECALL AROUND MAY 2014 AND WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER SHORTLY AFTER. THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART SHIPPED FROM CHRYSLER AND DISCONNECTED OUR VENT WINDOW SWITCH AS A SAFETY MEASURE UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. WE HAVE CHECKED NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS FROM CHRYSLER AS OF AUGUST 2015. THE DEALER APPEARS TO HAVE DONE WHAT THEY CAN AND THE HOLD UP HAS BEEN WITH CHRYSLER.
ON 8/3/13 (OR WITHIN A DAY OR TWO OF THAT DATE), I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR HAD LESS THAN 36,000 MILES ON IT. IT NEEDED THE REAR BRAKES REPLACED, AND THERE WAS UNEVEN WEAR BETWEEN THE R & L BRAKES. DEALERSHIP REPLACED BRAKES AND CALIPERS ON BOTH REAR WHEELS. HAVE FELT SOME PULSING WHEN BREAKING, HAVE BEEN GETTING A HORRID BURNING SMELL WHEN DRIVING, CAN FEEL EXTREME HEAT FROM LR WHEEL AFTER DRIVING. TOOK TO DEALER. 4/28/14 REAR BRAKES AGAIN HAVE UNEVEN WEAR (L 6MM; R 8MM) LR OUTBOARD BRAKE PAD BACKING CLIP DISLODGED AND CONTACTING ROTOR. LIP IS DAMAGED. REMOVED LR CALIPER AND FOUND PADS FROZEN IN CALIPER BRACKET. APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS SINCE BOTH WERE REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP; AND APX. 12,000 MILES PUT ON THE CAR. ROTORS WERE DAMAGED AS WELL AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. HAD TO PUT NEW ADAPTER BRACKETS ON THE VAN, BECAUSE THE OEM ONES WERE CAUSING BRAKES TO SEIZE UP - PER DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP ALL FOR FIXING PROBLEM, AND SO IS CHRYSLER, AS LONG AS YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE AND DESIGN FLAWED BRAKES. *TR

SINCE THAT'S A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT TO PAY FOR A FEATURE THAT COST LESS NEW FOR THE OPTION, JUST HAD THE WARNING DISABLED. UNFORTUNATELY, NOW THE BACKUP DETECTOR ALSO DOESN'T WORK AS A RESULT. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS PART CAN'T BE MADE MORE RELIABLE FOR A FRACTION OF THE QUOTED PRICE, AND IT'S ESPECIALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR SAFETY EQUIPMENT. *TR
FAILURE OR BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM. AFTER GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH WITH AN UNDERCAR CLEANING, THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM STARTED TO ACT ERRATICALLY. TOOK IT IN TO BE SERVICED. SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT BOTH OF THE SENSORS WERE FAILED DUE TO HAVING DONE A "PIN TEST" THAT SHOWED THEY WERE SHORTED OUT. FACING A REPAIR COST ESTIMATE OF OVER $2300 DOLLARS TO HAVE THEM REPLACED, I HAD THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM DISABLED VIA THE CONSOLE CONTROLS. SINCE THIS WAS A SAFETY SYSTEM THAT WAS PROMOTED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I FEEL THAT DUE TO THE NUMBER OF FAILURES CURRENTLY OCCURRING AS EVIDENCED BY OTHER ENTRIES IN THIS DATABASE, THIS SYSTEM SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
