TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SECURITY LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE ALARM SOUNDED INTERMITTENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT WARNING CHIMED WITHOUT A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT THE PUSH TO START FAILED TO OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIN NODE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.

RECALL NOTIFICATION CODE P25 ( FROM CHRYSLER) POWER VENT SWITCH CAN OVERHEAT AND CAUSE FIRE. WENT TO NORTH POINT CHRYSLER, WINSTON SALEM, NC. WITH RECALL NOTICE, ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY HAVE A LONG LIST OF OWNERS TO REPLACE THE SWITCHES BUT NO PARTS. THE RECEIVE A FEW EACH MONTH. MY CONCERN WOULD BE THAT IT OVERHEATS AND BURNS BEFORE THEY GET THE SWITCH IN TO REPLACE. WOULD I BE CORRECT THAT AT THAT POINT IF IT HAPPENS CHRYSLER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FIRE DAMAGE? KNOWING OF THIS PROBLEM SHOULD CHRYSLER PROVIDE LOANER VEHICLE TILL THE SWITCH IS MADE AVAILABLE ?
I WAS CHANGING THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BECAUSE THE TIRE HAD A NAIL IN IT. I USED THE TIRE JACK FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RAISED AND THE TIRE WAS REMOVED AND THE JACK COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE WAS PERFECTLY LEVEL IN A GARAGE WITH A CEMENT FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. I DID NOT SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR BLOCK THE TIRES. NOTHING WAS TOUCHING OR ROCKING THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. LOOKING AT THE JACK AFTERWARDS, THE SCREW BOLT WAS BENT AND THE UPPER ARMS WERE BENT. *TR

THE ACCELERATOR JAMMED AT FULL THROTTLE AS WE WERE MAKING A RIGHT TURN. THERE WAS NOTHING DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE ENGINE WAS RACING AT FULL SPEED. THE LIGHT WAS RED, SO I WAS FORCED TO USED THE BRAKES TO KEEP FROM HITTING THE CAR STOPPED AT THE LIGHT IN FRONT OF US. THE BRAKES WEREN'T GOING TO HOLD THE VEHICLE BACK FOR LONG, SO I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON THE ACCELERATOR WAS STILL STUCK AT FULL THROTTLE. ONLY AFTER TURNING IT OFF A SECOND TIME, COMPLETELY REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, WAITING FOR ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE CONTROL PANEL TO DIM, AND RESTARTING IT DID THE ACCELERATOR RETURN TO NORMAL. CHRYSLER INSISTS THAT IT WAS THE FLOOR MAT DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THERE WASN'T ANYTHING IN THE WAY OF OR JAMMING THE PEDAL AT ALL. IT WAS FREE AND CLEAR. THE VEHICLE SMELLED VERY HOT AND A RED LIGHTNING BOLT IMMEDIATELY FLASHED WITH AND OIL CHANGE DUE NOW INDICATOR. *TR

THE VEHICLE VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY WHEN DRIVEN. THE SEATS ALL MOVE VIOLENTLY. CAR DEALERS HAVE BALANCED THE TIRES TO NO AVAIL. THE TIRES WEAR OUT UNEVENLY, CUPPING BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. WE JUST HAD NEW TIRES INSTALLED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, ACCORDING TO THE DEALER THAT WAS THE FIX BUT THE CAR IS STILL VIBRATING. THE DEALER LOOKED AT THE CAR AGAIN AND SUGGESTED WE ROTATE TIRES THAT WERE JUST INSTALLED 60 DAYS AGO. THE TIRES ARE AGAIN WEARING UNEVENLY. WE NEED ASSISTANCE IN HAVING THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED ONCE AND FOR ALL. THE CAR HAS 1 YEAR OR 12,000 MILES LEFT ON ITS WARRANTY. I'VE LOST HOPE THAT THE DEALER WILL BE ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
I HAD SEVERAL TIMES AFTER I WAS STOPPED, IF I RELEASED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL, MOMENTARILY, THEN WHEN I TRIED TO CATCH THE BRAKE AGAIN, IT WAS FROZEN, LOCKED AND I COULDNT BRAKE AGAIN AND THE CAR ROLLED BACK.

VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW FROM DEALER WITH 199 MILES ON ODOMETER AS IT WAS DELIVERED FROM ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. FIRST TIME DRIVING VEHICLE FROM DEALERSHIP TO HOME APPROX 100 MILES A LOUD CLANKING NOISE WAS HEARD AT LOW SPEEDS DURING INITIAL ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER THE NEXT DAY FOR REPAIR. THEY FOUND THAT THE ENGINE WAS MISSING MOTOR MOUNT BOLTS. IT APPEARED THEY WERE NEVER INSTALLED AT FACTORY. *JS

WHILE OUT OF TOWN (200 MILES FROM HOME) AND STOPPING FOR A BRAKE, I EXITED THE CAR. I RETRIEVED SOME PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND ACCIDENTALLY PUT MY HAND ON THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH. WHILE CLOSING THE DOOR, I NOTICED THAT THE KEY FOB WAS STILL ON THE CONSOLE, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE TO STOP THE DOOR FROM CLOSING. DESPITE STATEMENTS IN THE MANUAL THAT WITH A KEYLESS IGNITION SYSTEM, IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE POSSIBLE TO LOCK THE DOOR WITH THE FOB INSIDE, THE DOORS REMAINED LOCKED. THE HORN DID NOT BEEP AND THE DOORS DID NOT UNLOCK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUAL. EVENTUALLY, I LOCATED THE CHRYSLER SERVICE NUMBER THROUGH GOOGLE ON MY CELL PHONE AND CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE. CHRYSLER CALLED FOR A SERVICE TRUCK TO SEE WHETHER IT WAS POSSIBLE TO GAIN ENTRY INTO THE CAR. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR FROM LOCKING THE DOOR, A SERVICE TRUCK ARRIVED AND THE OPERATOR WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. IF I HAD NOT HAD A CELL PHONE, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY TO EITHER SEARCH OR MAKE A "HELP" CALL. MORE IMPORTANTLY, HAD OUR GRANDCHILDREN BEEN WITH US, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN LOCKED IN A RELATIVELY HOT, VEHICLE AND WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO BREAK A WINDOW SO THEY COULD ESCAPE. THE PERSON ON THE CHRYSLER LINE SEEMED TO HAVE NO INTEREST IN THE PROBLEM OTHER THAN TO CALL A SERVICE TRUCK. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM. PREVIOUSLY, I'D MADE 3 COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER REGARDING A FAILURE OF THE DRIVER SLIDING DOOR TO LOCK. I EVEN SENT THE DEALER A VIDEO OF THE DOOR LOCK FAILING TO PROPERLY OPERATE (I STILL HAVE THE VIDEO AND EMAILS TO THE DEALER). CHRYSLER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO WARN ALL PURCHASERS THAT THEIR SYSTEM, ON OCCASION, DOES NOT PREVENT THE DOORS FROM LOCKING WHILE THE FOB REMAINS IN THE CAR. THEY SHOULD ALSO BE REQUIRED TO INFORM ALL OWNERS OF ANY SMART PHONE APPLICATION WHICH WOULD UNLOCK THE DOORS. *TR
THE SYSTEM DASH FLASHES AND THE.WHOLE CAR SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY OFF WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING STILL. THE SYSTEM FLICKERS AND THEN TURNS ENGINE OFF OR LIGHTS GO OFF AND ENGINE IS ON. THE CAR HAS BEEN HESITATING SINCE 2015 AND LIGHTS FLICKERING IN 2016.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON A LOCAL ROAD, ABOUT 30 MPH, I LOST ACCELERATION. ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE STILL ON, BUT AS I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, IT WOULD NOT GO. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER, SHUT OFF THE VAN, AND RESTARTED IT. IT WAS FINE AFTER THE RESTART. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ASKED IF I HAD A LOT OF KEY CHAINS ON THE KEY. I HAD NONE. THEY SAID MAKE SURE I AM PUSHING THE KEY ALL THE WAY IN WHEN I START THE CAR. ALSO,I HAD PLENTY OF GAS. I HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE (IT IS NOW APRIL, 2015), BUT MY OTHER TOWN & COUNTRY MINI VAN 2008 DID THE SAME THING YESTERDAY. WE DID GET A NEW KEY FAB FOR IT, SINCE THE OLD ONE WAS BROKEN. IT WAS THE SAME EXACT THING THAT HAPPENED. SHE HAD HALF A TANK OF GAS. *TR
THERE WAS A RE-CALL FOR MY VEHICLE. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE REAR WINDOW SWITCH CATCHING FIRE. I BROUGHT IT TO MY CHRYSLER DEAR FOR A SERVICE AND TO RESOLVE THE RECALL ISSUE. I WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO HEAR THERE WAS NO FIX AND ALL THEY COULD SO WAS DIS-CONNECT THE SWITCH. WHEN I ASKED WHEN THEY EXPECT THE FIX TO BE READY, THEY LAUGHED AND SAID THE LAST RE-CALL TOOK OVER A YEAR. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? HOW DOES A VEHICLE MANUFACTURER NOT HAVE A FIX FOR A PROBLEM THAT CAN CAUSE A FIRE IN A VEHICLE? ISN'T THAT THE REASON FOR THE RE-CALL TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED? THESE RE-CALLS ARE BECOMING TO FREQUENT AND THE AUTO MANUFACTURERS HAVE DECIDED IT CHEAPER TO NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND INCONVENIENCE THE VEHICLE OWNERS. *TR

I BOUGHT A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY IN AUGUST 2014. I TOOK THE VAN IN FOR A SQUEALING NOISE 20 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE SAT THERE FOR AN HOUR AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEN THEY COME TO TELL ME THEY COULD NOT HEAR THE NOISE. THE VAN STOP MAKING THE NOISE IN OCTOBER 2014 HOWEVER IT ALMOST COST ME AND CHILDREN OUR LIVES. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY WHERE WE LIVE AND THE ENGINE STALLED AND JUST QUIT LOST ALL POWER I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE ROAD THANK GOODNESS OR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN SMASHED BECAUSE IT WAS 8:00 A.M. WORK TRAFFIC. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE VAN IN TO HAVE IT SEEN ABOUT. I TOOK THE VAN IN AND WAS CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE VERY FRUSTRATING. MY VAN HAS STALLED SEVERAL MORE TIMES AFTER THAT AND HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 3 WEEKS NOW AND THEY STILL SAY THEY CANNOT FIND THE ISSUE. ALSO, I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT OF A STORE AND TURNED INTO A PARKING PLACE AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES FOR IT TO START BACK UP. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER ON THIS MATTER AND THEY GO WITH WHAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS AND IF THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY TELL ME TO COME GET IT. WHILE DRIVING 68 MPH, MY HUSBAND'S KNEE HIT THE KEY, WHICH TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AS WELL AS ALL POWER TO THE MINIVAN.
