Right sliding door buzzes when unlocking.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the catalytic convertor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,359.
The sliding door on the driver’s side is stuck and cannot be opened either automatically or mechanically. This is extremely dangerous in event of an emergency.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to unlock the vehicle and became aware that the driver’s side sliding door would not open automatically nor manually. The contact stated that it seemed as if the door was in a locked status. The contact was not able to unlock nor open the door. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
On 3 July 2021 the driver side rear sliding door became inoperable. The door would not open using either the electronic motor or by manually pulling the handle and sliding the door. The door lock appeared to be jammed in the locked position and could not be unlocked either electronically or manually. Not being able to open the rear door in any manner is unsafe and in the event of an accident would not allow access or egress to passengers in the rear of the vehicle. I had an independent ASE Certified Master Mechanic asses the issue. The only way to get the door open was to remove the door panel from the inside and manually push the lock actuator back into the correct position. Upon further inspection and testing it was noted that flipping the child safety lock back and forth several times seemed to have reset the actuator and the lock and door has worked correctly since.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while attempting to lock the doors, the rear passenger’s side door would not lock. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the rear passenger’s side sliding door was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000
Left drivers door, sliding door makes a loud buzzing sound it will sometimes not open manually and automatically , kids could not get out of van by the door bringing to chrysler dealershipon july 19, i know there have been many complaints to this issue something needs to be done quickly!!!! When you press lick button for van , even when not moving it still locks up and doesnt open sometimes
Stopped at a light and the engine stalled. Radio (uconnect system) turned off but dash lights still in operating order. I had to put the car in park and restart the ignition. it started right up at that point.
Driver side sliding door buzzes when locking/unlocking door. Was told by dealership it is a bad actuator and will soon fail completely leaving the door permanently locked or unlocked.
Loss of motive power. Transmission slip, engine revs with no acceleration. Clunks in transmission. Clicks in transmission. No gears working. Not motive power cold or hot. Sudden failure with no previous symptoms. In town 25 mph. Inoperable. approx 67,000 miles. My VIN was not included on the Recall. My Van meets the Dealer recall specifications.
Driver side rear sliding door is inoperable in the locked and closed position creating safety concerns for second and third row passengers,
The passenger sliding door becomes permanently locked preventing you from opening the door, from the outside or manually, to access your children. Fortunately for us we were not in an accident when this happened and I was able to use the other door. This is a very common issue for the Town and Country vans and there needs to be a recall on the door actuators used before someones child is prevented from exiting a vehicle in an emergency. I am having the door repaired by West Richland automotive and they have confirmed a faulty actuator. There were not any warning lamps or messages prior to the door locking itself.
Ignition Switch. The switch moves somtimes out of run postion, turning off the engine, spesially when the engine is worm. ( I found this information in my Hayes Repair Manual where they also says it has a recall since 2015) Dealer claimed it was a computor glitch. Only the dealer ship. The Techs could could not get a clear signal that's why they said it was a computor glitch. But I think they know more because they said it might be the ignition switch. When I asked they if the had one they said no because they are waiting for parts from China....
The passenger rear sliding door makes a buzzing sound when locking or unlocking the door. Door does not open/close and have to manually open/close door.
Back sliding door wouldn't open.
I was on my way home to Georgia from Ohio when before I got to Asheville NC my car started making a funny noise and had been doing so for about 30 minutes and it was starting to have a hard time shifting. The check engine light did come on but I was trying to look for gas also because it was the week there was a gas shortage going on and I was less than a quarter of a tank when I started to look for gas and the vehicle started acting up. Manage to find gas and my dad who is 81 looked but could not really see anything and we managed to make it to the exit where we were suppose to meet my dad's cousin for dinner and meet him for the first time and my dad seeing him for the first time in over 53 years. I barely got it to the gas station and he came and got us and we went to eat. I called my husband and him and my sister drove about three hours to get us and my husband to look at the car. I had gotten a hotel room for us (my mom and dad, granddaugher and I). My husband looked at it and was researching it while on the way up to Asheville. He drove around the parking lot and then he attempted to drive it to the hotel which was on the other side of the interstate and not even a half mile away and we barely got there and said he can't drive it home. It was not even shifting manually into the gears . The next day he got a ride to Asheville and rented a uhaul truck with a tow dolly and towed it home and the next day he took it to the transmission shop where we need a rebuilt transmission ours is gone. It is still in the shop waiting to be fixed was told it would be 3 to 4 weeks. This Tuesday it will be 3 weeks 6.8.21. We will have documentation of it being fixed once we get it from the shop. I could have been on the interstate and it could have just stalled thus causing an accident and possibly someone being killed because there was no warning the check engine light went on when I noticed I was having a problem with the vehicle.
THE TRANSMISSION HYDRAULIC PUMP FAILED AND CAUSED COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE TRANS AT 105000 MILES. THE ROCKER ARMS FAILED AT 97000 MILES. THE FRONT LOWER AARM BUSHINGS FAILED AT ABOUT 60000 MILES. THE REAR SLIDER DOORS DON'T LOCK AND WHEN THE DEALER TRIED TO REPAIR THEM THEY MADE IT WORSE NOW THE WINDOWS IN THOSE DOORS ARE FAILING. ALSO A CODE FOR THERMOSTAT HOUSING POPPED UP AFTER THE ROCKER ARM REPAIR. WHAT A TERRIBLE VEHICLE. IT'S ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND I'M A STICKLER ABOUT MAINTENANCE.
Rear sliding door lock makes buzzing sound. Stopped locking.
SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR MODULE AND WIRE CONNECTION HAS CORRODED AND DESTROYED THE MODULE, TERMINALS AND CONNECTORS. IT HAPPENED DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE WARNING BELL AND MESSAGE CAME ON SAYING IT IS NOR WORKING. WHEN EVER I DRIVE THE VEHICLE THE SAME THING HAPPENS HAD A 2011 TOWN AND COUNTRY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH IT. THEY WANT OVER A $1000 TO FIX IT EACH TIME.
It has happened twice now the my 2016 town and country has turned off out of no where. The first time i was just getting off the freeway and the whole car lost power in Strang way and the string wheel locked up.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND WAS LOCKED IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.*DT
FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST POPPED OUT FOR NO REASON. THIS IS A SERIOUS, DANGEROUS, AND WELL-KNOWN ISSUE WITH CHYRSLER VEHICLES. *I HAVE A SEPARATE ISSUE FOR THIS SAME VEHICLE (LEFT CYCLINDER) THAT I SUBMITTED ON MARCH 31, 2021, TRACKING NUMBER: 11405716.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE KEPT SHIFTING IN NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE WHILE DRIVING TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE SERVICE VEHICLE SOON WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,618.
Early 2021 the driver's side sliding door would not open from the outside or from the inside. At this time the passenger side sliding door was working. In May 2021 I took it to an independent service facility. They replaced the door latch assembly and checked the wiring. The door then opened and closed inconsistently. I took it back and this time It worked by using the key fob, the door button and the above dash button; but when opening it manually it did not slide on its own. Also at this time the passenger side door stayed in an unlocked position and could be opened when all doors were supposed to be locked. Sometimes the door alarm would go off when it was opened this way and sometimes it didn't. At this point I took it to the dealership (7-29-2021). I was told the prior service center used a Mopar part and they would put it under warranty and replace it but I would be charged for labor. The passenger side door latch assembly would also have to be replaced, bringing the total to over $1,900. Estimated date of completion is 8-3-2021. This is definitely a safety problem since the door could not be opened from the inside and passengers in the back would not be able to open it under an emergency situation.
WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CHRYSLER PENTASTAR ENGINE WHICH RESULTS IN LEFT CYLINDER MISFIRES CAUSING DANGEROUS STALLING THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION AND WHILE STOPPED. THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON PREVIOUS YEARS BUT HAVE REFUSED TO ON LATER MODELS. CHRYSLER IS REFUSING TO FIX THE ISSUE OR OFFER COST ASSISTANCE.
THE POWER SLIDING DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED. IT'S A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE MINIVANS. WHEN IT FAILS YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE ACTUATOR FAILING RESULTS OFTEN WITH THE DOOR LOCKING. YOU CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK IT, IT'S JAMMED LOCK. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT UNLOCKED IS BY REMOVING THE DOOR PANEL. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS THE EGRESS IS LOCKED SHUT. SHOULD THE LOCK FAIL DURING AN ACCIDENT, FIRE, ETC. PEOPLE CAN BECOME TRAPPED IN THEIR VEHICLE. CHRYSLER WANTS OVER $1,000 TO FIX IT.
CAR STARTED TO MAKE A FUNNY NOISE WHILE DRIVING AND UPON TRYING TO PULL OVER THE CAR REACHED NUMBER 8 RPM'S BUT WASN'T ACCELERATING. THEN IT JERKED FORWARD AS I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO SHUT IT OFF. I WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH FOUR KIDS IN THE CAR.TOWED TO DEALER AND SAID A NEW TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION COOLER ARE REQUIRED FOR REPAIR. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I PURCHASED FOR 75,000 MILES IS NO LONGER VALID AND JUST EXPIRED AS THERE ARE 77,000 MILES ON THE CAR. ALSO THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY OR OTHERWISE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE STATIONARY TO LOAD KIDS IN BACK.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FOUR LANE MY VAN STARTED SHAKING AT FIRST IT WAS FOR 1/2 SECOND THEN GOT MORE FREQUENT. AT FIRST IT WAS AT 50-60MPH BUT NOW AT ALL SPEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND GAVE THE CODE FOR A LEAK THAT I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS SO SMALL IT DIDN'T MATTER. THEN IT GAVE A CODE OF 0740 SOLENOID TORQUE SO I REPLACED AND WITHIN 24 HOURS THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND GAVE THE SAME CODE. IT IS EXTREMELY SCARY WHEN THE VAN IS SHAKING SO BAD AS YOU ARE DRIVING IN BUSY TRAFFIC. NOT SURE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. I'VE HAD THIS VAN LESS THAN 2 1/2 YEARS. VERY FRUSTRATED.
Back sliding door inoperable, dealership sold the vehicle this way, neglected to disclose the issue. When we noticed we refused the sale, dealership added to the sale contract that it would be fixed before delivery, vehicle was not fixed before delivery after several attempts, and a third party off site company attempted to fix the issue. Dealership had the vehicle for 36 days before coming to a temporary fix, door still has issues opening and closing. Sometimes won’t open at all or just close instantly after opening pinching/crushing anyone who isn’t fast enough to get out of the way in the door. Door has also come completely off the track at one point. The door will not stop if it starts to close, it will slide closed into you or a child, the censors do not work as designed apparently. I sincerely hope for a fix as I am terrified of my children being trapped in emergency situation, or in general entry exit of vehicle.
The passenger sliding door actuator makes a loud buzzing sound when the doors are locked/unlocked with a key or the door lock. Multiple forums have stated that they are having the same issue in the Town and Country and Dodge Caravans.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL WHINING SOUND WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE DRIVE BELTS HOWEVER, THE NOISE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING AND STALLED WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AS THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. ONCE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND MADE IT TO HIS PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT, HE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE AND THEN BACK TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE TRANS-AXLE OIL PUMP. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) WHICH SHE LINKED TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. APPEARS BAD DOOR LOCK SOLENOID. VEHICLE STATIONARY WHEN PROBLEM DISCOVERED. CAN NOT EVEN UNLOCK DOOR MANUALLY FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS LOCKED SHUT AND WON'T OPEN
THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN LOCK AND WILL NOT OPEN. NOW WHEN I LOCK THE CAR I HEAR A BUZZING NOISE FROM THE DOORS. I HOPE THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR DOESNT LOCK BECAUSE I HAVE A CHILD WITH CEREBRAL PALSY AND HOW WOULD I GET HIM OUT INCASE OF AN ACCIDENT. I NEED TO USE MY VAN ALOT FOR DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS.
MY RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR BUZZES WHEN I UNLOCK MY DOORS. SOMETIMES THE DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK AND I AM WORRIED SOMETHING MIGHT HAPPEN AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE KIDS OUT OF THE VAN.
TRANSMISSION PUMP FRIED AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT GET ENOUGH OXYGEN SO HAD TO GET A COMPLETELY NEW TRANSMISSION. LOOKED UP AND SEEN THEY HAD A RECALL ON OUR YEAR OF TRANSMISSION PUMP BUT ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP OUR CAR WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT THE VIN NUMBER WASN'T LISTED IN THE RECALL DATABASE BUT OUR PUMP STILL GOT FRIED. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD.... SHOULDN'T BE HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS...
ON DECEMBER 24, 2020 OUR RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR MALFUNCTIONED AND ENDED UP TRAPPING MY TODDLERS HEAD IN BETWEEN THE DOOR AND VEHICLE FRAME. IT WAS INCREDIBLY TRAUMATIC FOR ALL INVOLVED. THOUGH THE INCIDENT LIKELY LASTED LESS THAN A MINUTE, IT WAS A TERRIFYING FRANTIC MINUTE IN WHICH I TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THE DOOR OPEN AS IT CONTINUED TO TRY AND CLOSE ON OUR BABY WHO WAS SCREAMING IN PAIN AND TERROR. IT TOOK ALL OF MY STRENGTH TO MANUALLY PRY OPEN THE DOOR TO RELEASE HIS HEAD. WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED OVER, ASSUMING A MALFUNCTIONING SENSOR OF SOME SORT. THEY DID DIAGNOSTICS AND REPORTED NO CODES WERE EVIDENT AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE MALFUNCTION. THEN LAST NIGHT 12/30/2020 THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER DOOR EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR MALFUNCTION AND BEGAN CLOSING ON MY CHILD. MY HUSBAND WAS FORCED TO MANUALLY RIP THE DOOR OFF OF OUR CHILD TO AVOID SIMILAR INJURY. IN THE PROCESS, PLASTIC PIECES OF THE TRACK WERE DISLODGED AND THE DOOR IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL. IN THIS INSTANCE, LOSS OF ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONING ON THAT SIDE IS A BLESSING AS THE DOORS ARE MALFUNCTIONING AND OTHERWISE PRESENT SIGNIFICANT DANGER TO OUR FAMILY AS NO OBVIOUS CODE DEFECTS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE DETECTED YET. HOWEVER THE RIGHT REAR DOOR AND THE BACK HATCH REMAIN OPERATIONAL AND THEREFORE A POTENTIAL DANGER. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A LEVEL ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND COASTING. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE. I COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED CALLED MY USUAL MECHANIC TO TOW THE VEHICLE INTO HIS SHOP. MY MECHANIC SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND WAS BEYOND HIS LEVEL OF REPAIR. HE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO SHIFTRIGHT TRANSMISSIONS. AT THE TRANSMISSION SHOP, THEY DISCOVERED THE TRANSMISSION PUMP ASSEMBLY WAS SHATTERED. THEY HAD TO PERFORM A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL. I RETAINED THE PUMP ASSEMBLY AS PROOF OF THE DEFECT AND REPAIR. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM FALLS UNDER RECALL REFERENCE # 16V461000
THE TRANSMISSION PUMP SEIZED CAUSING A LOSS OF HYDRAULIC PRESSURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON PLACING THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REVERSE AS NEEDED AND THAT AN UNKNOWN FLUID BEGAN TO LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION FROM AN UNNAMED LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DOWNSHIFTED WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY JERK FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND BEGAN TO HEAR AN ENGINE KNOCK UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE INTO A SERVICE PLAZA WHERE HE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO JOEY ACCARDI CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM (909 S FEDERAL HWY, POMPANO BEACH, FL 33062). ONCE THERE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT NOT THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE REPAIR COST WOULD BE COVERED HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 147,000. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION, THE ENGINE WAS DAMAGED AS WELL.
MY PASSENGER SIDE SLIDE DOOR MAKES A BUZZING SOUND WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OPENS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND APPEARS TO NEED A RECALL TO FIX THIS FAULTY PART.
THE LOCK ACTUATOR GEAR STRIPS, CAUSING A LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN LOCKING/UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE AND IN SOME CASES IT WILL NOT CONSISTENTLY ACTUATE CAUSING THE DOOR TO STAY LOCKED. THE MAJOR CONCERNS ARE 1) IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION AND SOMEONE IS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR TO QUICKLY GET MY CHILD OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE LOCK IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. 2) THE NOISE IT MAKES IS LOUD AND MAY STARTLE DRIVERS OF THIS VEHICLE(FROM WHAT I'M SEEING, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ACROSS THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AND CARAVAN LINES OF VANS) AS THE LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGE WHILE ENTERING THE ROAD WHICH COULD CAUSE A TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS ENDANGERS BOTH THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD.
LOUD BUZZ NOISE WHEN REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR UNLOCKS. ALSO CLOSES ON OWN SOMETIMES.
MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN, OR UNLOCK. I TOOK IT TO OUR CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR PART #68030378AG. I HEARD A WEIRD BUZZING COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE, WHEN I UNLOCKED IT. WHEN I STARTED MY ENGINE AND PUT IT INTO DRIVE. IT MADE THE SAME SOUND. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY HOME. I TRIED TO PEN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT UNLOCK WITH MY REMOTE OR MANUALLY.
THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM FOR MY 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY STOPPED WORKING. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE. IF I WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT I WOULD BE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS TO GET MY CHILDREN OUT FOR SAFETY REASONS. I AM NOT SURE WHY THIS HASN'T BEEN RECALLED YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING UP AN INCLINE AT 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MOSS MOTOR COMPANY (1000 S CEDAR AVE, SOUTH PITTSBURG, TN 37380) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILURE. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) WHICH HE LINKED TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, UPON CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER, HE WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT CHRYSLER DEALER MOSS MOTORS COSTING OVER $3,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,643.*DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND ATTEMPTING TO PROCEED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD AND STOPPED WITH THE ENGINE REVVING. THE CONTACT REVVED THE ENGINE UP AND SLOWLY DROVE OFF THE ROADWAY AT 3 MPH. THE CONTACT THOUGHT THAT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO YOCHUM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1270 SOUTH HART STREET ROAD, VINCENNES, 47591, (812) 316-5381) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
