MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER FIRST EXHIBITED THIS PROBLEM IN MARCH 2011. I AM THE ONLY OWNER AND I BOUGHT IT NEW. ESPECIALLY IN WET WEATHER BUT OCCASIONALLY IN OTHER INSTANCES, THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF BUT ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT- THE RADIO, LIGHTS, DASHBOARD AND A/C WILL REMAIN ON. THIS OCCURS WHEN BRAKING AT A STOP LIGHT OR SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN- USUALLY WHEN AT LOW SPEED AS WHEN PULLING INTO A DRIVEWAY. I THEN MUST PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN OFF THE IGNITION THEN RESTART THE CAR AND IT ALWAYS RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR AT MORE THAN ONCE ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND SO CAN'T DIAGNOSE IT, BUT THIS ISSUE ONLY OCCURS PERIODICALLY IN WET CONDITIONS SO BEING ABLE TO RECREATE IT AT THE DEALERSHIP IS UNLIKELY. I WOULD ESTIMATE IT HAS HAPPENED AROUND 15 TO 20 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 YEARS. I HAVE SEEN RECALLS FOR OTHER DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES THAT SOUND SIMILAR BUT NONE FOR THE AVENGER. I HOPE DODGE WILL ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS MALFUNCTION AS IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL LIKE THIS COULD EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
2008 DODGE AVENGER R/T. AWD. THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM FAILS. THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED NOR WILL IT LOCK. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP FIXED IT ONCE FOR $100.00. AFTER A FEW MONTHS, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. DOOR FLIES OPEN, WILL NOT STAY CLOSED. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, NOW THEY WANT $211.00 TO TRY AND FIX IT A DIFFERENT WAY BECAUSE THE FACTORY CLIPS (REQUIRED) AREN'T WORKING. THEY HOPE (BUT WILL NOT GUARANTEE) THAT THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. CALLED DODGE, THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT, (SO RUDELY PUT)! NOT CONCERNED WITH THE DOOR FLYING OPEN. THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME TO MAKE SURE MY CHILDREN WEAR THEIR SEAT BELTS SO IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, THEY WON'T FALL OUT OF THE CAR. *TR
2008 DODGE AVENGER STALLS WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR SOMETIMES WHEN I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR. STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC SEVERAL TIMES. *TR
MY 08 DODGE AVENGER AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON WHEN EVER PASSENGER SEAT IS MOVED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE SAYING SINCE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THERE LOT THAT ITS MY FAULT. I THINK THAT'S JUST IGNORANCE, I TALKED TO THE GENERAL MANAGER AND ASSISTANT MANAGER ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THAT I'VE HEARD ABOUT DODGE CHRYSLER VEHICLES RECALLS IN 2000 THAT THE AIRBAGS LIGHT CAN COME ON AND MAY CAUSE A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WHICH CAN SET AIRBAGS ON. I TOLD THEM WHAT IF THAT HAPPENS TO ME AND I GO CRASH OR HIT SOMEONE CAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE SINCE YOUR THE NEW OWNER. I BARELY BOUGHT MY CAR FEB 5 2011 NOW ITS MARCH 30 11. AND I'VE TAKEN THE CAR 3 TIMES DUE TO AIRBAG LIGHT, MY CAR WAS IN SERVICE FOR 3DAYS I PICK UP TODAY AND I WAS READY TO GO AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. AGAIN THEY SAID THEY CANT FIX THE PROBLEM THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I AM CONCERN ABOUT MY SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE. WORST BUY EVER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THE BATTERY AND FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF RECALL 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: WIRING) AND WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THE REPAIRS HAD BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPILLED BACK OUT FROM THE FILLER NECK VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VENT TUBING AND THE NECK OF THE FUEL TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PLUG IN ON THE FUEL PUMP BURNED CAUSING A HOLE IN THE FUEL PUMP. THE CHECK ENGINE AND GASOLINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RECEIVING ANY FUEL FROM THE FUEL PUMP AND THAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE NOT TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE CONTACT WHO REWIRED THE BURNT WIRES AND REPAIRED THE HOLE IN THE FUEL PUMP. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,891.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL FAILURE THAT WAS PROGRESSING WITH NO WARNING. THE RADIO SHORTED, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHORTED FOR VARIOUS SENSORS, THE CLOCK WAS NOT READING PROPERLY AND THE VEHICLE WAS STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FOR THE TPMS WERE CORRODED AND CAUSED A SHORT CIRCUIT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN A SEMI-TRUCK CRASHED INTO THE FRONT AND DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V240000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL) BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT PRIOR TO THE CRASH, THERE WERE SEVERAL FAILURES IN WHICH THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. A LOCAL MECHANIC REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THE DEALER OFFERED TO ASSIST THE CONTACT WITH THE STALLING DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
I WAS AT THE STORE EARLIER TODAY WHEN I CAME OUT THE GEAR SHIFT ON MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER WAS STUCK IN PARK I TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET IT UNSTUCK SO I DECIDED TO COME HOME AND GOOGLE THE PROBLEM I FOUND THOUSANDS OF POSTS WITH THE PROBLEM IT SEEMS TO ME ITS THE MANUFACTURES FAULT AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR SO MANY PEOPLE TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AROUND THE SAME TIME. *TR
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY TURNING ON IN MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR OVER 1 YEAR. THIS MEANS THAT MY AIRBAG IS DISABLED AND WILL NOT PROTECT ME AND MY FAMILY IN A CRASH DUE TO SOME AIR BAG CONTROLLER SELF DIAGNOSED DEFECT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY INCORRECTLY DIAGNOSED IT AS A LOOSE CONNECTOR, CHARGED ME FOR THE REPAIR, ONLY TO HAVE THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT COME BACK ON, DISABLING MY AIR BAG PROTECTION IN A CRASH. THE LATEST DEALER VISIT ON OCTOBER 22, 2011 RESULTED IN THE DEALER DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM AS A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG. THE DEALER CONTACTED CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE REPAIR. CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR AND THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME $500 FOR A NEW AIR BAG. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE 1-800-992-1997 ON OCTOBER 24 2011 AND SPOKE WITH ADAM (NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE LAST NAME) AND HE RECOMMENDED THAT I AGAIN CONTACT THE DEALER. I TOLD ADAM AT CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THE DEALER TOLD ME TO CALL THIS NUMBER AND THAT EACH REPRESENTATIVE OF CHRYSLER (DEALER & CUSTOMER SERVICE) ASKING ME TO CALL THE OTHER WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL. AT THIS POINT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO. MY AIR BAG DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE OF AN UNKNOWN DEFECT, CHRYSLER REFUSES TO REPAIR ITS DEFECTIVE AIR BAG SYSTEM, AND I AM UNCERTAIN THAT EVEN IF I HAVE IT REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE FOR $500 THE AIR BAG MAY NOT WORK DUE TO SEVERAL INCORRECT ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THIS VEHICLE IN THE PAST. I HAVE A LEAKY TRUNK IN MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER. MY WINDOW ALSO STOPPED WORKING ON MY DRIVERS SIDE. AFTER SEARING THE INTERNET I DISCOVERED MANY OTHERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. IF AN OFFICIAL RECALL NOTICE WAS MADE THIS WOULD PREVENT VEHICLE OWNERS FROM SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON REPAIRS THAT SHOULD BE MADE BY THE DEALER. THE TRUNK HAS BEEN LEAKY SINCE I BOUGHT THE CARD AND DODGE KEEPS TELLING ME NOTHING IT WRONG. IT ALSO MAKES MY THIRD BREAK LIGHT GO OUT I'VE BEEN ISSUED 3 POLICE WARNINGS FOR THIS. I HOPE I NEVER GET A TICKET. ALSO, MY WINDOW IS NOW STUCK DOWN AND IF IT RAINS I WILL HAVE DAMAGE. AS FOR THE TRUNK ITS ALSO MOLDY AND MAKES ME SICK WHEN I GET INTO THE CAR. *TR
WHEN FUELING UP, THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY BUT PRESSURE INSIDE THE TANK CAUSES FUEL TO "GUSH" OUT OF THE TANK ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THE GROUND AND ME IF I'M STANDING TOO CLOSE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR MANY MONTHS. I'VE TRIED SEVERAL FUEL STATIONS, SEVERAL PUMPS AT THE SAME STATION. ALL CAUSE GAS TO "GUSH OUT" . *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
NUMEROUS TIMES (SEEMINGLY WHEN COLD) THE GAS TANK WILL SPIT GAS OUT AFTER THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF. WILL SPRAY ALL ON THE CAR AND THE GROUND. POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS... *TR
AT 51000 MILES ON MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER, STARTED SMELLING ANTIFREEZE ODOR INSIDE THE CAR. EVENTUALLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ELECTRICAL LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE CAR RAN EXTREMELY ROUGH AND STARTED TO RUN HOT. EVENTUALLY ENGINE WOULD LOSE POWER THEN SHUT OFF AND NOT BE ABLE TO RESTART FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. DID NOT APPEAR TO BE LOSING RADIATOR FLUID. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND THAT THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING, (MADE OUT OF PLASTIC) WAS CRACKED AND IT WAS LEAKING ANTIFREEZE FROM THAT POINT. HAD PARTS REPLACED. THE PART AND SERVICE WAS WARRANTED FOR 12 MONTHS/12000 MILES. 10 MONTHS LATER, BUT 30000 MILES LATER, CURRENT VEHICLE MILEAGE 81000, SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN, SAME PARTS REPLACED. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 DODGE AVENGER RT. IN THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER, WHEN I WOULD START UP MY CAR ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND THEN THE CAR WOULD CUT OFF. I WOULD TRY AGAIN IN 30MINS OR SO AND IT WOULD START AND STAY RUNNING, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON AND READ NO BUS. EVENTUALLY THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE CAR RAN FINE. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN EXCEPT THIS TIME THE CAR WOULDN'T COME BACK ON. I HAD AAA COME OUT TO CHARGE AND CHECK THE BATTERY, AND THEY SAID THAT MY BATTERY WAS DEAD, BUT IT WAS A GOOD BATTERY. SOMETHING IN MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS CAUSING IT TO DRAIN. I TOOK MY CAR TO THOMPSON CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM THAT IT WASN'T THE BATTERY. THEY CLAIMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM DAYS LATER, BUT WITHIN AN HOUR OF PICKING IT UP I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, WARNING LIGHTS EXCEPT THIS TIME THE CAR WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THEM 4 TIMES WITH TODAY BEING THE 5TH. THEY REPLACED MY BATTERY 2 TIMES AS IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND RIPPED OUT MY ALARM SYSTEM THE LAST TIME. I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS, BUT THE SAME PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. CORPORATE WAS OF NO HELP IN THE SITUATION. I AM SEEKING LEGAL COUNSEL BECAUSE THIS MORNING I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF. I'M JUST RELIEVED THAT THE BABY WASN'T IN THE CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE WIRING FOR THE AIR BAGS WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V240000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL). TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THE CAPS ON ALL FOUR TIRES WERE CORRODED AND CAUSED A FAILURE WITH THE VALVE STEMS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LOW TIRE PRESSURE READING AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THE CAPS WERE CORRODED AND WAS TOLD IF HE REMOVED THE CAPS, THE VALVE STEMS COULD BREAK AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AND VALVE STEMS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER R/T AT 52,000 MILES DEVELOPED A SERIOUS SPLASH BACK WHEN PUMPING GAS. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE FLOW IS VERY FAST OR VERY SLOW. IT WAS SO BAD THE FIRST TWO TIMES WHEN IT HAPPENED THAT GASOLINE SPLASHED ALL OVER THE LEFT REAR VERY HOT WHEEL AND ROTOR OF MY CAR AS I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE HIGHWAY. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS WILL BECOME A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM AND POSSIBLY A FIRE IF NOT CORRECTED. HAVE HEARD THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SOME 2008-2009 MODEL AVENGERS AND AS I HAVE TO GET IT TO THE DEALER AND SOON, SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR PERHAPS A VENDOR ISSUE. THANK YOU KINDLY. *TR
MY 2008 AVENGER STALLS WHEN ACCELERATING. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN IT IS WET AND COLD OUT. IT HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN YOU ARE AT A COMPLETE STOP AND PUSH THE GAS OR WHEN YOU ARE SLOWING DOWN AND THE ACCELERATE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS HAPPENING. "TAKATA RECALL " RECENT AND ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MY 08 DODGE AVENGER IS THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON RANDOMLY, FROM START UP AND WHILE DRIVING. AIRBAG HAS NEVER DEPLOYED OR NO INJURIES TO VEHICLE, HAS BEEN ON AND OFF SINCE LAST YEAR. OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WAS ALSO ON, GOT THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACED, WOULD START OFF FROM START UP AND WOULD COME ON AND OFF CONSTEADLY. FRONT DRIVERSSEATBELT ALSO STOPPED RETRACTING HAVE RECENTLY HAD THAT CHANGED AS WELL. THE TPMS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW, TURNS ON AT START UP AND STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS ALSO BEEN ON FOR AWHILE NOW TOO, FROM START UP AND WHILE DRIVING, JUST STAYS ON, SINCE A FEW MONTHS OF VEHICLE PURCHASE, WAS ACTUALLY STILL MAKING PAYMENTS WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT, CAME OFF AND BACK ON 2 MONTHS LATER, BEEN STRUGGLING WITH IT EVERY SINCE. JUST HAVE LEARNED TO LIVE WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON AND TPMS LIGHT ON AS WELL. HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE ALTERNATOR 3 TIMES ON THIS CAR ALREADY TOO. MY CAR DRIVES FINE NOW, DON'T WANT TO JUST KEEP IGNORING THE PROBLEM, WOULD REALLY LIKE THAT FIXED.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY DODGE AVENGER FOR ABOUT 40,000 MILES NOW AND HAVE HAD IT INTO MULTIPLE SHOPS WITHOUT THE PROBLEM BEING SOLVED. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES EITHER CAUSING MY CAR TO SHUT OFF WHILE IM GOING DOWN THE ROAD, CAUSE POWER LAG WITH NO ACCELERATION ABOUT 45 MPH OR SHIFTING INTO DIFFERENT GEARS, OR THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ALONG WITH THE ETC LIGHT AND THE CAR WILL IDLE VERY HIGH THEN VERY LOW AND REPEAT THE PROCESS MAKING THE CAR UNABLE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE GOING DOWN INTERSTATE AND HIGHWAYS AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF IT. I SEE LOTS OF POSTINGS WITH THE SAME ISSUE BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE WHICH DEALERSHIPS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX. I'VE BEEN TOLD TO CHANGE THE BATTERY, THE TPMS WAS MESSING UP, THE THROTTLE VALVE WAS STICKING, IMPROPER FUEL DELIVERY, AND THAT THE CAR WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH AIR. NONE OF THESE ONCE FIXED WERE THE CAUSE OF THE CAR FREAKING OUT AND NOW IM FORCED TO DRIVE DAY TO DAY WITH MY SON IN THE CAR HOPING IT WORKS WELL ENOUGH THAT AN ACCIDENT WONT HAPPEN. I'VE SEEN ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL THAT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL A LONG TIME AGO TO FIX THIS YET IT'S BEEN 4 YEARS AND STILL NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO HELP MAKE PEOPLES VEHICLES SAFE AGAIN THAT THEY PAID FOR. *TR

I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ON 9/18 WHEN, IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNING AND WHILE THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLES DRIVING TOWARDS ME, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKING IN THE POSITION IT WAS IN, MY BRAKE LOCKED SO I COULDN'T SLOW DOWN, MY GAS LOCKED AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS WENT OFF. THE CAR STALLED. THE ONLY THING I WAS ABLE TO DO, WAS PUT THE CAR IN PARK AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. LUCKILY, THE CARS THAT WERE HEADING RIGHT TOWARDS ME SWERVED AS TO NOT HIT ME AND THE CAR THAT I WAS HEADING STRAIGHT FOR WAS ABLE TO MOVE BEFORE WE HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND WHERE I PURCHASED THE WARRANTY, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. MY BIGGEST FEAR IS THAT I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND HAVE TO TRAVEL ON THE FREEWAY NEXT TO LARGE SEMI'S AND IF THIS HAPPENS THERE, WE WILL SURELY DIE IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT SEEING AS HOW MY WHEEL LOCKS AS WELL AS MY BRAKES. THE ENTIRE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED COSTING $69.35 FOR THE PART AND APPROXIMATELY $129 FOR LABOR.
