THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS MAY BE AVAILABLE THIS FALL, BUT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE. I HAVE A 2010 DODGE AVENGER WHICH I PURCHASE IN APRIL OF 2015. AND IN 2015 I HAD TO PUT IT IN THE SHOP TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE CONTROL BODY BECAUSE I WAS LOSING ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING. HERE WE ARE 1.5 YEARS LATER AND I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC THAT WAS WORKING ON MY CAR, AFTER 2 UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO FIX IT, THEY CONTACT A DODGE DEALERSHIP, WHICH STATED THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. AFTER DRIVING MY CAR FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE INDICATOR LIGHT BEGINS TO FLASH. I AM UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST 20 MPH. OR IF I AM STOPPED, THE CAR JERKS FORWARD WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
ROLLED THE WINDOW DOWN ON THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR AND THERE WAS A LOUD BANG, THE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL BACK UP. THOUGHT THE GLASS HAD BROKEN. WENT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE GLASS WAS NOT BROKEN, THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAD BROKEN. HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE IN FRONT OF MY DOOR.

ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO, MY CAR WOULD NOT START. SINCE IT HAD ABOUT 55,000 MILES ON IT, I HAD A NEW 5-YEAR WARRANTY BATTERY PUT IN ON APRIL 5, 2015. HAD IT SERVICED ON APRIL 18 AND 25 BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START; AFTER HAVING TO HAVE IT JUMPED A FEW TIMES REPLACED BATTERY ON AUGUST 28. AFTER SEVERAL TIMES IT NOT STARTING, TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP ON OCTOBER 29, 2015 AND THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AGAIN. ON DECEMBER 1, 2016, IT WOULD NOT START, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS CORROSION. WOULD NOT START DEC. 5, DEALERSHIP SHUT THE A/C COMPRESSOR OFF ON DEC. 6. FEBRUARY 12, 2017, MY CAR WOULD NOT START, ONCE JUMPED, DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT IS NOW. WHEN I AM HOME, I ALWAYS KEEP MY CAR IN A GARAGE EVERY NIGHT. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, LIVE ALONE, AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE IT HAS LESS THAN 70,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A REPUTABLE MECHANIC 3X AND THE DEALERSHIP 4X FOR THIS ISSUE.

WE HAVE NEVER HAD A FLAT TIRE UNTIL WE BOUGHT THIS CAR, THE MONITORING VALVE STEMS HAVE TO BE DEFECTIVE. WE HAVE HAD THREE BLOWOUTS ALL ON THE HIGHWAY WITHIN THE PAST THREE YEARS DUE TO THESE STEMS. IS THERE A RECALL? IF NOT THERE SHOULD BE. WE WOULD GET RID OF THEM BUT THEY TELL US THE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD WILL STAY ON. THERE IS NO WARNING, THE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON AND WE CHECK OUR TIRE PRESSURE. I SEE DODGE HAS HAD RECALLS ON THESE STEMS BUT NOT FOR THE AVENGER. EACH TIME WE LOSE THE TIRE TOO, BY THE TIME WE CAN PULL OUT OF TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. IT COSTS US $120 DOLLARS EACH TIME FOR THE TIRE NEW MONITORING VALVE STEM, HAVING IT PROGRAMMED AND A TIRE, ALREADY $360.00 AND THE POSSIBILITY OF GETTING KILLED CHANGING THE TIRE EACH TIME. ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL) HAS CAUSE MY CAR TO BE OUT OF OPERATION TWICE IN THE PAST MONTH ALONE. I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AND IT IS ALREADY BROKEN AGAIN WITHIN A MONTHS TIME.

THE AIR BAGS EXPLODED, WITH A BUMP ON THE ROAD.
ON 10/1/2016 A RECALL FOR CALLED FOR MY 2010 DODGE AVENGER SXT. THE RECALL NUMBER IS 16V-668. THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE LOSS OF AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER DEPLOYMENT CAPABILITY IN CERTAIN CRASH EVENTS. I CALLED MY LOCAL DODGE TO SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE, AND TOLD THEM THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT MUST BE REPLAYED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE CURRENTLY ARENT ANY PARTS AVAILABLE, AND THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. THAT POSES A HUGE SAFETY RISK BECAUSE IN EVENT OF A CRASH AIRBAGS ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP SAVE LIVES. WITH THESE ISSUES GOING ON AND IF I WERE IN A WRECK MY LIFE IS AT STEAK. I ASKED HER ABOUT LOANER CARS, OR IF ANYTHING ELSE COULD BE DONE TO INCREASE SAFETY. THE ONLY THING SHE SAID THAT CAN BE DONE IS JUST WAIT IT OUT. WITH MY SAFETY BEING AT RISK EVERY TIME I DRIVE, I COULD BE KILLED BEFORE PARTS EVEN COME IN. I DON'T FEEL SAFE AT ALL JUST WAITING IT OUT, AND PUTTING MY LIFE IN THE HANDS OF DODGE. I FEEL LIKE IF THEY CANT CURRENTLY REPLACE THE PARTS, THEY EITHER NEED TO REPLACE THE CAR OR LOAN ONE THAT WORKS EFFICIENTLY. ALSO BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BREAKS ON 2010. IT STATED THAT THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN IMPROPERLY FORMED OR MISSING BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS COULD RESULT IN BRAKE FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH. CHECKING THE CAR-FAX THAT I WAS GIVEN THIS WAS NOT REPLACED OR LOOKED AT, AND NOW I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES. SO NOT ONLY IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAGS AND BREAKS, BUT A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY LIFE BEING AT RISK.

MY FAMILY WAS ON OUR WAY OUT OF TOWN WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY TURNED OFF WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WE HAD SOMEONE PUSH US TO THE CURB AND WE WE CRANKED THE CAR IT STARTED RIGHT UP BUT EVER SINCE THEN IT'S BEEN 5 YEARS NOW IT WILL CUT OFF WHENEVER! ETC LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR STARTED ACTING LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS. RPM GAGE JUMPS FROM 1K TO 1.5K. VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 MPH. BROUGHT VEHICLE HOME RESET THE COMPUTER LIGHT STAYED ON BUT PROBLEM WENT AWAY FOR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK WHEN THE ETC LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH AGAIN. AS I HAVE BEEN READING THROUGH COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE I HAVE SEEN OVER 10 COMPLAINTS ON THIS PART BUT NO RECALL ON THEM. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART. NO EXCUSE FOR IT TO BE HAPPENING TO SO MANY PEOPLE. I UNDERSTAND PARTS GET OLD AND WORN OUT BUT NO WAY THIS MANY. RECALL PLEASE.

MY AVENGER BLOWS HEAT OUT ON DRIVER SIDE AND COLD AIR ON PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BLEND AIR DOOR ACTUATOR BUT I HAVE CHANGED IT. NOW MY CAR HEATS UP AND STILL BLOWS COLD AIR UNTIL I START MOVING AND THEN IT STILL TAKES A LITTLE WHILE TO BLOW OUT HEAT.. I'VE SEEN THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR AVENGER.
