TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ETC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ETC WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 182,000.
