I PURCHASED MY DODGE AVENGER BRAND NEW IN 2013. AFTER TWO YEARS OF HAVING MY CAR, MY CAR STARTED TO NOT WANT TO TURN ON. I WOULD CONTINUE TO TRY AND SOMETIMES IT WOULD WORK AND NOT OTHER TIMES. I WENT TO GET THE BATTERY CHECKED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE. I THEN WENT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I PROBABLY NEEDED TO GET A FUEL INJECTOR DONE SO I DID THIS AS WELL AND MY CAR STILL TIME TO TIME WILL NOT START. 2ND MY LEFT SIDE BODY PANEL ONE DAY JUST POPPED OUT OF PLACE AND WHEN I WOULD GO TO SHUT MY DOOR IT WOULD MAKE A CLICKING SOUND FROM ME TRYING TO SHUT IT. I WAS NOT IN A WRECK, THERE IS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY MY PANEL POPPED OUT OF PLACE. 3. MY CAR IS NOW NOT BLOWING HEAT OUT (AND ITS WINTER RIGHT NOW) I ONLY NOTICED THIS ONCE IT BECAME COLD OUT AND NEEDED TO USE IT. FIRST COUPLE TIMES I TRIED RUNNING THE HEAT IT WOULD DO SO BUT ONLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS BLOWING OUT COLD AIR. I HAD A AUTO SHOP LOOK INTO THIS AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING EVEN WRONG WITH ANY OF IT. BUT THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC BEFOREHAND WHICH IS GOING TO COST ME $195 THEN I CAN GO FROM THERE.. I KEEP SEEING WHERE A LOT OF AVENGERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THERE HEATING SYSTEM.. COULD THIS BE ALL FROM A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WITH THE HEATER CORE??
CLICKING NOISE ON PASSENGER SIDE UPON STARTING CAR. PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS ONLY COLD AIR, BUT DRIVER SIDE BLOWS HEAR WITHOUT A PROBLEM
2013 DODGE AVENGER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE HEAD REST ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED IN THE MIDST OF DRIVING, THE DRIVER'S HEAD REST OPENED UP AND HIT HIM IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD CAUSING HIS HEAD TO GO FORWARD. *JB
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON 11-04-2015. AFTER JUST ONE DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & OBD2 SCAN REVEALED AIR LEAK IN FUEL SYSTEM. NEW GAS CAP INSTALLED & CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO STAY ON. I PLAN TO GET THE VEHICLE CHECKED OUT BY DODGE DEALERSHIP IF THIS ISSUE CONTINUES. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY WAY TO COME BACK & EDIT THIS COMMENT IF PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. LETTER FROM CONGRESSWOMAN SLAUGHTER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE DEFECTIVE 2013 DODGE AVENGER. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATE SIX MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE, ALL FOUR OF THE BRAKES SEIZED. THEN, ONE YEAR AND SIX MONTH LATER, THE ENGINE HEAD FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. SEVEN MONTHS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE LEAKED OIL INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JB
PURCHASED VEHICLE 02/2013 SIX MOTHS LATER NOTICED BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN COMING TO A STOP GOING DOWN A HILL. TOOK IN FOR SERVICE, TOLD "BRAKE SENSOR IS TOO SENSITIVE." ONE YEAR LATER NOTICED WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION BEYOND 50MPH ENGINE WILL HESITATE- FEELS LIKE IT WILL SHUT OFF. SIMILAR SITUATION WHEN IDLING. TWO YEARS LATER STEERING MAKES LOTS OF NOISE. NONE OF THESE CONCERNS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED WHEN BROUGHT TO STAFF'S ATTENTION AT DODGE DEALERSHIP. DODGE REQUESTS I PAY $107+ FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE MORE SO BECAUSE I AM MOTHER TO A THREE YEAR OLD AND EXPECTING...I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS CAR.
CLICKING NOISE FROM BEHIND GLOVE BOX WHEN RUNNING HVAC. RESEARCH POINTS TO A BLEND DOOR MOTOR WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO CHRYSLER. ALSO MAKES THE SAME CLICKING NOISE EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING WHICH COULD POSE A FIRE HAZARD.
THIS WEEK, MY AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN TO BLINK INTERMITTENTLY, USUALLY WHEN ACCELERATING. AFTER A DAY, THE LIGHT CAME TO BE ON CONTINUOUSLY. I GOT THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP ON SATURDAY AND WAS INFORMED THE ACTIVE HEADREST ON THE DRIVER SIDE HAD AN OPEN CIRCUIT AND THAT THE ENTIRE AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS DISABLED UNTIL WE CAN REPLACE THE CURRENTLY BACKORDERED PART AT A COST OF ~$300 PLUS LABOR. THIS IS A PART THAT WAS COVERED UNDER A RECALL FOR MY MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR FOR THE ACTIVE HEADREST, BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SEEM TO BE INCLUDED. AT THIS TIME, I AM DRIVING OVER 100 MILES A DAY WITH NO AIRBAGS IN A 3 YEAR OLD CAR. IT IS NOT SAFE AND IT IS A PART THAT APPARENTLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. A PART THAT IS NEVER USED IN A 3 YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD NOT FAIL AND DEFINITELY NOT DO SO IN SUCH A CRITICAL SYSTEM. CHRYSLER TOLD ME THEY'D ADD MY VEHICLE TO A LIST FOR REVIEW AND LET ME KNOW IF THEY'LL COVER THE PART OR NOT. MEANWHILE, MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WON'T COVER IT BECAUSE THEY FEEL AS I DO THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD.
FOUR WAYS COME ON FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. ALSO AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE 60 DAYS AFTER DRIVING CAR. *TR
WHEN STARTING CAR, ALL LIGHTS AND POWER FEATURES WORK BUT CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER. ITS BEEN A PROBLEM THAT COMES AND GOES WITH NO WARNING.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL FAILURES THAT PROGRESSED, SUCH AS THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DOOR HANDLE. THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES AND, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND WAS PULLED INTO A REFUELING STATION. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE HOSE FRACTURED FROM THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURES AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER (KENDALL DODGE, 786-231-2120, 13355 137TH AVE, MIAMI, FL 33186) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN AS TO WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL MORE THAN TWO YEARS AGO. THE REMEDY AND PART WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO RECEIVE THE REPAIR WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V668000 (AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WOULD BE COMPLETED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND AFTER A WEEK AND A HALF, NOTICED THAT MY CAR IS NOT GEARING CORRECTLY ON ITS OWN AND AT TIMES DECELERATES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. ALSO WHEN SHIFTING VEHICLE FROM PARK, REVERSE, DRIVE, ETC... IT MAKES A JUMP WITH A LOUD NOISE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 3V043000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATE 60,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, AN UNUSUAL NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
DRIVE SIDE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) TRIGGERED ON OWN WITHOUT ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED DODGE WHEN IT HAPPENED AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT ANY ISSUES. RECEIVED PHONE CALL FROM DIFFERENT NAPLETON RECENTLY AND ASKED SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT IT AND HE SAID HE HAS SEEN A FEW. CONTACTED DODGE AGAIN AT (800) 423-6343 (SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS) AND THEY SAID VEHICLE IS BEYOND 3 YEARS/36K WARRANTY. I ORIGINALLY CONTACTED THEM IN JULY 2015 AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER SEEN IT AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER TALKING TO OTHER SERVICE ADVISOR AND FINDING OUT THAT THERE IS OTHER VEHICLES OUT THERE DODGE SHOULD LOOK FURTHER INTO THIS ISSUE. SOMEONE COULD GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR DIE DO TO THIS PROBLEM. RESEARCHING THE WEB THERE HAS BEEN CASES OF AHR DEPLOYING WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THANKFULLY MY WIFE WAS IN PARK WHEN IT DEPLOYED. I APPRECIATE YOUR ASSISTANCE WITH THIS. 6/9/15 CAR IN MOTION CITY STREET REFUSED TO ACCELERATE. COASTED TO SIDE. DEALER SHIP REPLACED TRAN PUMP& TORQUE CONVERTER. 7/21 AT STOP LIGHT HEARD HARD KNOCK, STUCK IN 1ST GEAR COASTED TO SIDE. DEALERSHIP DID TRAN OVERHAUL. 7/29 AGAIN! ON FREEWAY COMPLETE SHUT DOWN OF ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL AND COASTED OFF FREEWAY RAMP. GLAD WE DID NOT GET KILLED. DEALERSHIP SAID FIXED ISSUE. MY SON NOR I WILL DRIVE IT ANY LONGER. OTHER ISSUE WAS AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY ON 2ND DEALERSHIP SAID AIRBAGS MAY NOT WORK. GLAD NO ACCIDENTS OCCURRED.
WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, I DID HIT THE BREAKS, I FELT A JOLT HOWEVER THE CAR NEVER STOPPED. THE CAR DID SKID ACROSS A HIGHWAY, AND LAND IN A DITCH. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE, HOWEVER NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. BOTHE ME AND MY MINOR CHILD WERE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE BY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS. WE DID BOTH SUSTAIN INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED.

MY VEHICLES STALLS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ITS AN AUTOMATIC. I KEEP MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON IT. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED 3 DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. WHEN I STOP MY CAR ALMOST ACTS AS THOUGH IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF. IN ORDER TO PICK SPEED BACK UP I MIDST FLOOR IT TO EVEN GET MOVING ANYWHERE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE SEEING AS THOUGH I HAVE A 2 YR OLD. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. I'M INSURING A CAR THAT HAS HAD RECALLS FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUES AND NOW DODGE TELLS ME THEY'D HAVE TO CHARGE ME $115 FOR A DIAGNOSTICS TEST.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT 5 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED WHIPLASH ALONG WITH A HEAD INJURY FROM STRIKING THE GLASS. THE GLASS SHATTERED AND IMPACTED THE DRIVER. THE FRONT PASSENGER AND OTHER THREE PASSENGERS SUFFERED WHIPLASH AND ONE OF THE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT URINATED BLOOD DUE TO THE INJURIES. THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGERS RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE WAS NOT INVESTIGATED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 30,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL DID NOT MENTION A DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,596.
WHEN IT IS RAINING THE WIPERS WILL GET STUCK AS IT IS POUR AND YOU TRY TO DRIVE. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP FINDS NOTHING WRONG. ALSO THE FUSE BOX IS FAULTY, THE CHARGE LIGHT WILL APPEAR ON DASHBOARD AND WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO NOT TURN ON OR FOR IT TO STOP WORKING. THE HORN WILL SOUND ON IT'S OWN AND I HAVE TO WIGGLE FUSES FOR IT YO STOP
A COUPLE YEARS AFTER I GOT MY CAR IT WOULD SHUT DOWN WHEN I WOULD COME TO STOP SIGNS AND NO MECHANICS COULD TELL ME WHY. NO LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. IT HAD SHUT DOWN ON THE FREEWAY BEFORE AND LET THE POWER SLOWLY DIE DOWN UNTIL THE CAR TURNED OFF. THAT TIME THE CAR ACTUALLY HAD A LIGHT WHEN I TRIED TURNING IT BACK ON. I ESSENTIALLY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE WITHIN A YEAR. THE CAR WOULD OVERHEAT AT TIMES BUT NO LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF SO I JUST COULD LET THE CAR COOL DOWN AND LET THE OVERHEATING STOP. FAST FORWARD TO REPLACING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION AND MY CAR IS NOW IDLING HIGH EVEN WITHOUT THE GAS BEING TOUCHED. ON THE FREEWAY IT WILL GO TO AS HIGH AS 4000RPMS NOW AND IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO STOP WORKING AGAIN. ALSO THE DOOR BLEND ACTUATORS AND OTHER ACTUATORS HAVE BEEN MAKING NOISE FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS. MY AIR LINE HAS NO LEAKS AND IS COLD BUT THE AIR THAT COMES OUT OF MY VENTS IS ALMOST WARM FEELING.
BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT STOP CAR CAUSING REAR END COLLISION. AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND PASSENGER AIR BAG STARTING SMOTHERING AND BURNT HOLE THOUGH AIR BAG. CAR TOTALED AT GOING ONLY 30MPG.NOTIFIED DODGE AND WAS SENT A LETTER SAYING NOTHING WAS FOUND ON BRAKES BUT DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESS THE AIR BAG. 1WEEK BEFORE HAD CAR IN FOR SERVICE FOR VIBRATION AND DEALER HAD TO REPLACE ALL MOUNTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A MAILBOX AND A LIGHT POLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. HEATER BLOWING COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT BLOWS VERY LITTLE HOT AIR ONLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE DEFROST DOES NOT WORK HARDLY AT ALL DUE TO THIS SITUATION. THIS ALL STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF TO 2 YEARS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE BRAND NEW. I FEEL LIKE IT'S DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS CAR WHEN THE DEFROST IS NEEDED. I TOOK MY CAR TO A DODGE DEALER LAST WEEK AND PAID TO HAVE MY CAR FLUSHED IN HOPES OF MAKING THE HEATER WORK. THAT DIDN'T HELP SO THEY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BUY A NEW HEATER CORE. SO AFTER OWNING A BRAND NEW CAR FOR A YEAR AND A HALF TO 2 YEARS SHOULD NOT IN MY OPINION NEED A NEW HEATER CORE. I'VE BEEN READING A LOT OF REVIEWS ON THESE CARS AND I SEE WHERE LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME EXACT THING AS MYSELF. SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG WITH THE MAKING OF THIS PARTICULAR CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY HAD TO STAND BEHIND THEIR DEALER'S DECISION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG LIGHT WON'T GO OFF I'M AFRAID THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY
I WAS DRIVING FROM ARKANSAS TO TEXAS AND WAS APPROXIMATELY TEN MILES FROM MY DESTINATION WHEN THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT ON A NARROW TWO LANE HIGHWAY HITTING THE APPROXIMATELY ONE FOOT TALL CONCRETE BRIDE SIDE. IT WAS MISTING RAIN AND THE CAR KEPT PULLING RIGHT AND THEN STARTED TO GO INTO A SKID. I TRIED TO STEER TO STOP SKIDDING AND SPUN AROUND INTO THE DITCH AND ROLLED. ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS AND THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG DEPLOYED. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE DRIVER SIDE OR FROM THE DASH OR STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT, SIDES AND TOP. THERE HAD BEEN PRIOR WARRANTY REPAIR TO THE DRIVER SEAT AIRBAG BY ORR DODGE OF SEARCY BECAUSE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT HAD COME ON IN THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
THE POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT IN MY 2013 DODGER AVENGER, AFTER HAVING THE PUMP REPLACED, THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT FIXED. THEN THE HEAT STOPS WORKING, COST O FIX THAT (SUPPOSEDLY THE HEATER CORE) AND THE POWER STEERING (RACK AND PINION ACCORDING TO THE LOCAL DODGER DEALERSHIP) IS APPROX $2000. A QUICK SEARCH IN THE INTER SHOWS THESE ARE COMMON PROBLEMS IN THIS YEAR AVENGER. IT IS THE WAY THE ENGINE WAS PRODUCED THAT YEAR. WHEN IS THERE GOING TO BE A SAFETY RECALL FOR THESE ENGINES THAT LOSE POWER STEERING, LIKE MINE DID, LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AFTER BOUGHT THIS CAR.

INSPECTOR STATED TO ME . ALL THE VEHICLES WERE MADE LIKE THIS. DEALER REPLACE SHIFTER BEZEL TRIMMING AND STATED A FLAW IN THE PLASTIC RESULTING IN SHARP EDGE ON THE TOP FRONT OF PIECE. NEW BEZEL TRIMMING STILL SHARP. BUT NOT AS RAGGED. CHRYSLER STATED IN A LETTER DATED 10/03/2014 I RECEIVED. THE INSPECTOR FOUND NO INDICATION OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO MY FINGER BEING CUT. THIS IS NOT SAFE. IT IS BEING SWEPT UP THE RUG. *TR

I RECENTLY REPORTED MY VEHICLE ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN UP TO THE SPEED OF 82 MPH ALSO THINKING THAT THIS WAS A WEIRD OCCURRENCE THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I WAS WRONG. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPG GETTING READY TO ENTER A TURN MY CAR AGAIN STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, FOOT OFF THE GAS WAS NOT GOING DOWN HILL OR ANY OTHER REASON TO PICK UP SPEED. ALSO ON THIS SAME DAY I STARTED MY CAR AND MY HEADLIGHTS CAME ON AS THEY SHOULD, I NOTICED MY HIGH BEAMS ON THINKING THEY WERE LEFT ON FROM THE LAST TIME I DROVE MY CAR I TURNED THEM OFF. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE HIGH BEAMS ALL OF A SUDDEN CAME IN. I TURNED THEM OFF THINKING IT WAS STRANGE. AGAIN 2 MORE TIMES ON MY WAY HOME THE HIGH BEAMS AUTOMATICALLY CAME ON BY THEMSELVES. I BELIEVE THERE ARE SOME MAJOR COMPUTER ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE BUT AGAIN I AM SURE OF CHRYSLERS RESPONSE AHEAD OF TIME. CALLED CHRYSLER THEY JUST SAY WELL IF YOU TAKE IT TO A DEALER MAYBE THEY CAN SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CODES. PRIOR TO THIS MY SENSOR HAD GONE BAD, LIGHTS NOT WORKING ALL KINDS OF THINGS AND THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG BECAUSE THERE WERE NO CODES. PREVIOUSLY HAD ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION, VALVE BODY REPLACED AND NOW HAVING SAME ISSUES AS BEFORE IT WAS REPAIRED APPROX. 15,000 MILES AGO. ON JULY 7TH I WAS PASSING A VEHICLE IN A PASSING LANE, ONCE I GOT PASSED THE VEHICLE AND ON TOP OF A HILL I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR ONLY TO HAVE MY CAR CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE TO THE SPEED OF 82 MPH. ON ITS OWN. MY CRUISE WAS NOT ON SO THIS COULD NOT BE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NEVER USED THE CRUISE AND WOULD NEVER HAVE IT SET OVER 82 MPH EVEN IF THAT COULD BE AN ISSUE AS I HAVE BEEN ASKED. EXTREMELY SCARY SITUATION BUT THE BRAKES DID ENGAGE WHEN APPLIED AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOW TO A SAFER SPEED (WITH MY KNEES KNOCKING IN FEAR!) CAR BEGAN MAKING CREAKING NOISES. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE INNER TIE RODS WERE BAD AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THIS WAS THE THIRD CAR OF SIMILAR MAKE AND MODEL THAT DAY WITH THE SAME ISSUE. CAR UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY SO THEY WILL FIX IT ONCE I PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I WAS COMING DOWN HWY 17 FROM WILMINGTON WHEN THE RIGHT FRONT TIE EXPLODED AND ALSO MESSED UP THE RIM. TOTAL COST TP ME 578.00. THE SECOND TIME I WAS COMING FROM MURRELL INLET, SC AND THE SAME TIRE BLEW OUT AGAIN. TOTAL COST 134.00. I HAD TOOK MY CAR IN TO GET THE SECOND TIRE FIXED AND TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE FRONT END HAD A POPPING NOISE AND TO HAVE SOMEONE DRIVE THE CAR TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. I PICKED THE CAR UP ON 6/3/2014 AND ASKED IF ANYONE HAD DROVE IT FOR THE NOISE. COME TO FIND OUT NOBODY TEST DROVE IT AFTER IT SAT OUT AT ADDYS FOR 7 DAYS. THE WHOLE FRONT RACK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.IT NOW BEEN 10 DAYS AND MY CAR IS STILL AT ADDYS WAITING ON PARTS. LOOKS LIKE TO ME SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE FOUND THIS PROBLEM WHILE IT WAS SITTING AT ADDYS FOR 7 DAYS. ALSO WHEN ADJUSTING AIRFLOW FROM VENT, DEFROST, FLOOR, FLOOR/VENT IT DOES NOT CORRECTLY HAVE THE AIR COME OUT AT THE SELECTED LOCATION. THIS IS A PROBLEM HAPPENING WITH THE DODGE AVENGER AND THERE IS NO ANSWER OUT THERE SAYING WHY THIS IS HAPPENING TO ALL YEAR NOT JUST ONE YEAR OF THE DODGE AVENGER. DODGE KNOWS THIS IS A RECALL ITEM BUT WILL NOT ADMIT THEY HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND ASSIST THERE CUSTOMERS. THERE ARE VARIOUS IDEAS OUT THERE SAYING WHY IT IS HAPPENING BUT AS PEOPLE TRY THOSE SOLUTIONS THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED OR IT COMES RIGHT BACK. DODGE NEEDS TO MAKE THIS A RECALL IT IS COSTING CUSTOMERS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND KNOW ONE KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX 100% INCLUDING DODGE DEALERS. PLEASE HELP AND GET THIS ISSUE TO BE A RECALL. THE OWNER BEFORE ME HAD THIS PROBLEM AND COULD NOT GET IT CORRECTED AS I FOUND OUT AND THAT IS WHY THEY GOT RID OF IT AS I LOOK MORE INTO THE PROBLEM.
