2010 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8....VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED NOW THREE TIMES. ONCE IT HAPPENED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE OTHER 2 TIMES IT HAS OCCURRED ON THE ROAD WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. OIL LIGHT CAME ON IN ONE OF THE INSTANCES BUT I AM UNSURE IF IT CAME ON THE OTHER TWO. WITH COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER THIS MAKES THE CAR DIFFICULT TO STEER. ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS, THE CAR DID START BACK UP WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START, HOWEVER IT DID CRANK OVER VERY SLOWLY. CAR IS GOING INTO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO EVALUATE THIS, HOWEVER IT APPEARS THAT WITH OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAVE THIS HAPPEN, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HOPEFULLY THIS CAN BE REMEDIED BEFORE ANYONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE. *TT
NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, PULL UP TO A STOP SIGN TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND CAR JUST DIES. LOSE ALL POWER, NO POWER STEERING AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY. THIS IS NOW THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN WHEN CROSSING AN INTERSECTION INSTEAD OF AT A STOP SIGN. 2010 CHALLENGER SRT8 AUTOMATIC HAS STALLED AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME. IT HAS 4,820 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE ENGINE HAS STALLED. PRIOR REPORT 10354193. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND SLOWED TO TURN LEFT INTO A DRIVEWAY WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED. I PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND STARTED THE CAR WITHOUT A PROBLEM. *TR
ON OR ABOUT JUNE OF 2011 I WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN GA, AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF. AFTER CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURE. DODGE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THOMPSON DODGE IN THOMPSON GA. I WAS TOLD THERE BY THE HEAD MECHANIC THAT MY ENGINE SUFFERED A TOTAL CATASTROPHIC FAILURE . THEY ( MANUFACTURE) DECIDED TO REBUILD INSTEAD OF REPLACING MY ENGINE AS I HAD ASKED. THEN ON THURSDAY 11/22/2012 I WAS DRIVING (60-65 MPH) HOME TO NJ FROM TEXAS. AND THE ENGINE DID THE SAME THING. LEAVING ME STRANDED. AFTER THE FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A 2010 CHALLENGER WILL BREAK 2 CHAINS WITHIN 2 YEARS. THERE HAS TO BE A UNDERLYING CAUSE FOR THIS. PLEASE ADVISE ME AND RESPOND. I CAN BE REACHED AT [XXX]. VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND COMPLETE THE TURN WITHOUT INCIDENT DUE TO THE ALERTNESS OF THE DRIVER BEHIND ME. I DID NOT NOTICE WHICH SYMBOLS, IF ANY, LIT UP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. HAVING A VEHICLE SHUT DOWN FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 5 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITH A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER TEN MINUTES BUT THE OIL WARNING LAMP WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 13,000.
I WAS MAKING A SLOW U-TURN AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF (STALLED). THIS ACTUALLY THE THIRD INCIDENT SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN DECEMBER. I WAS PULLING ON TO THE FREEWAY FROM A STOP (UNDER 10MPH) AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF (STALLED). ALSO, I WAS SLOWING TO A RED LIGHT (UNDER 10MPH) AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF (STALLED). I DON'T HAVE THE DATE AND MILEAGE OF THE FIRST TWO INCIDENTS, SO I'VE GIVEN THE DETAILS OF THE THIRD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, SHE HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT HE WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THAT BOTH THE ACCELERATOR AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WERE ENGAGED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. WITHIN THIRTY SECONDS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. A SIMILAR FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE PRIOR. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT BOTH FAILURES OCCURRED WHILE MAKING TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT THE ILLUMINATION OF ANY WARNING INDICATORS. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE SIMILAR FAILURE OCCURRED FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEFECT CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,955.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 9 TO 12 MPH, HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FURTHER, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS, THE VEHICLE JERKED INTO FOURTH GEAR. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. I OWN A 2010 CHALLENGER R/T. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 30MPH, I SLOWED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND VEHICLE LIGHTS WENT OUT, LOSS OF ALL POWER, AND ENGINE TURNED OFF. I COASTED TO CURB AND WITHOUT TOUCHING THE KEY, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED RIGHT BACK UP. AGAIN THE NEXT DAY WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT ONTO A BUSY STREET, VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE TURNING LEFT, EXCEPT I WAS CROSSING THE LANE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AGAIN, IT RESTARTED WITH NO HELP FROM ME. NO ACCIDENT CAUSED, BUT AN ONCOMING VEHICLE CAME TO ABOUT 3 FEET OF MY DRIVERS DOOR BEFORE STOPPING. APPROXIMATELY MARCH 2011 IN MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT ABOUT 5 MPH THE CAR ENGINE TOTALLY QUIT. CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN AND NO PROBLEMS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 5, 2011. ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2011 COASTING TO A STOP LIGHT WITH SLIGHT BRAKING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH CAR ENGINE TOTALLY QUIT AGAIN. STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN AFTER THE ENGINE STALL. ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2011, TWO DAYS AFTER PRIOR ENGINE STALL CAR AGAIN STALLED COASTING TO A STOP LIGHT WITH SLIGHT BRAKING AT AGAIN ABOUT 5 MPH. CAR AGAIN STARTED UP. *TR
IF CHRYSLER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR, THEY WOULD REMEMBER IT FROM 3 DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED IT FROM WESTPOINTE DODGE IN OKLAHOMA. I HAD PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE, MAINLY FROM THE LIES I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP, I BOUGHT IT NEW! I WAS TOLD OF ALL THE EXTRAS ON THIS VEHICLE INCLUDING A NAVAGATION SYSTEM, I TRIED TO GET THE NAVAGATION SYSTEM TO WORK, NO LUCK. I CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK, PROBABLY JUST DIDN'T HAVE THE NAVAGATION SYSTEM HOOKED UP. I TOOK IT BACK, THEY SAID IT HAD ONE, THEN LOOKED AND CHECKED AND ON AND ON, THEN SAID NO NAVAGATION SYSTEM, THEY INSTALLED AN AFTER MARKET MIRROR SO I WOULD HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL ME WHAT DIRECTIONS I WAS GOING. THAT WAS NOT THE END THERE. I SENT 10 PAGES OF NOTES TO CHRYSLER EXPLAINING ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAD WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY GAVE ME FREE OIL CHANGES. NOW, IN MARCH, THE CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING, IT WOULD DIE AFTER RUNNING ROUGH, THEN AFTER 2-3 TRIES IT WOULD START. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MAY 1ST, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, PROBABLY JUST BAD GAS, I HAD GOT IT BACK 2 DAYS LATER. THE NEXT DAY, IT WOULD NOT START, AFTER A FEW MORE TRIES IT DID START. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK IT BACK TO THEM ON MAY 6TH. I CALLED THEM MAY 7TH, SAID THEY THOUGHT THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND CHANGED SOMETHING. I CALLED THEM YESTERDAY AND THEY SAID IT STILL HAD THE PROBLEM AND THEY HAD CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP FIND THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED TODAY AND SAID THEY "THINK" THEY HAVE IT FIXED, BUT WILL NEED TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY AND START IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT IS FIXED. THIS IS A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAT 20 THOUSAND MILES. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAN IF AND WHEN I GET IT BACK,I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE PROBLEMS. *TR
AFTER EXITING HIGHWAY, ENGINE STALLED WHEN TRAVELING ABOUT 5 MPH. WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE WITHOUT INCIDENT. WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY WARNING LIGHTS PRIOR TO INCIDENT. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE SAME HAPPENED, AFTER MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO DRIVEWAY, ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE TRAVELING AT 5 MPH. WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE AND CONTINUE.
WHEN STARTING THE CAR ON A COLD START, THE TAIL PIPE EMISSION (GAS AND CARBON VAPORS) SURROUND THE VEHICLE AND ENTER THE CAR CABIN THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. (COMES UP THROUGH THE HOOD OF THE CAR) I BELIEVE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS LOCATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT JUST UNDER THE VENTILATION SYSTEM.. THEY CHECKED TO SEE IF ALL PARTS HAD A TIGHT FIT AND THE SALES MANAGER BELIEVES THERE'S NOT A DEFECT.. *TR
FOUR PASSENGER DRIVING OVER RR CROSSING WHEN THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF! TRIED TO CRANK IT SEVERAL TIMES WOULDN'T START. THREE PASSENGERS GOT OUT OF THE CAR THE LAST COULDN'T REACH THE SEAT LEVER TO GET OUT SO HE WAS HIT BY A TRAIN THE CAR WAS TOTALED HE ONLY OWNED THE CAR A WEEK IT ONLY HAD 400 MILES ON IT THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLS. I HAVE ABOUT 6500 MILES ON THE CAR AND IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND AGAIN TODAY. I TOOK VEHICLE DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER WHEN IT HAPPENED TODAY. THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IT. ALMOST TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHEN IT STALLS....EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO BRAKE OR TURN STEERING WHEEL....AND I AM 6' 3" TALL AND OVER 200 LBS. COULDN'T IMAGINE IF THIS HAPPENED TO MY WIFE WHEN SHE IS DRIVING THE CAR. *TR
MY 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER HAS RANDOMLY SHUT OFF FOUR TIMES IN MY PAST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. TWICE IN BRAKING SITUATIONS COMING TO A REDLIGHT, AND TWICE IN PARKING LOTS AT LOW SPEEDS, THANK GOD! UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAS COME TO A STOP POWER STEERING AND BRAKES ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY SO EVASION OF OTHER CARS, PEDESTRIANS, PROPERTY BECOMES EXTREMELY LIMITED. I AM LUCKY THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED AT HIGHER SPEEDS ON FASTER ROADS, HOWEVER I AM AWARE OF OTHER CONSUMERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN, AND ARE NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE SIMILAR CARS. *TR
I USED MY REMOTE START TO WARM-UP MY 2010 CHALLENGER RT. I LEFT FOR WORK AND TRAVELED AT 20 MPH IN MY SUBDIVISION. I ARRIVED AT INTERSECTION TO MAKE AT TURN ONTO A 45 MPH STREET AND TRAVELED ABOUT 1 MILE TO LIGHT STOPPED AND MADE A RIGHT TURN ONTO ANOTHER 45 MPH STREET (4 LANES). AS I INCREASED SPEED TO 45 LIMIT I FELT THE GAS PEDAL PULL AWAY FROM MY FOOT AND THE CAR BEGAN TO QUICKLY SPEED UP. I TAPPED THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN THE BRAKE THINKING THAT THE PEDAL WAS STUCK DUE TO COLD WEATHER 18 DEGREES. IT JUST KEPT INCREASING IN SPEED. I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL TO TAKE TORQUE OFF THE DRIVE TRAIN. I LET IT COAST INTO THE NEXT SIDE STREET AND PUT IT INTO PARK. THE ENGINE WAS IDLING AT 4000 RPM. I SHUT IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND IT IMMEDIATELY JUMPED BACK UP TO 4000 RPM. I HAD TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY SO I PULLED IT INTO A CUL-DE-SAC RIDING THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET. AGAIN, I SHUT IT OFF, WAITED A LITTLE AND RESTARTED IT. AGAIN, IT JUMPED TO 4000 RPM. I CALLED MY WIFE AND TOLD HER WHAT HAD HAPPENED. SHE SUGGESTED THAT I BRING IT HOME AND TAKE OUR OTHER CAR. I DECIDED TO TRY SHUTTING IT DOWN AGAIN. AGAIN WHEN I STARTED IT JUMPED TO 4000 RPM. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT HOME AND RODE THE BRAKE BACK TO THE STOP IN ORDER TO MAKE THE LEFT TURN TO GO HOME. THE TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC GOING THAT DIRECTION WAS NON-STOP SO I ELECTED TO AVOID GOING INTO A CONGESTED SITUATION NOT KNOWING WHAT IT WOULD DO. I DECIDED TO GO RIGHT SINCE THERE WERE NO CARS GOING THAT DIRECTION TO WORRY ABOUT HITTING. SHORTLY AFTER I MADE THE TURN THE RPM'S DROPPED TO NORMAL. I PUNCHED THE ACCELERATOR TO CHECK IT AND MAKE SURE IT WOULD NOT REPEAT MY STARTLING EXPERIENCE. I THANK GOD THAT MY WIFE WAS NOT DRIVING IT AT THE TIME. SHE WOULD HAVE PANICKED AND WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. I DROVE THE CAR THE REST OF THE WAY TO WORK MAKING SURE THAT I KEPT A VERY SAFE DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND THE CAR AHEAD. I SENT CHRYSLER AN EMAIL ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE. MY CAR IS NOW AT A DEALER BEING EVALUATED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 18,000.
I HAVE A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T WITH A SERIOUS BRAKE DEFECT AT ONLY 15,000 MILES. I AM ONE OF MANY WHO HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT ROTORS ON MY VEHICLE DUE TO SEVERE WARPAGE. I WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FROM OTHER OWNERS AND I'VE DONE MY BEST TO "BABY" THE BRAKES TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING, YET IT HAPPENED ANYWAY. IN MY OPINION, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS PROVIDED ON THIS CAR ARE INFERIOR AND NOT CAPABLE OF STOPPING THE CAR UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME (PAST THE 12,000 MILE WARRANTY COVERAGE). AS A RESULT, MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE UNCONTROLLABLE VIBRATIONS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND EXTENSIVE TIME/DISTANCE NEEDED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS NOT TO BE THE CASE WITH THE SRT MODEL WHICH USES THICKER ROTORS. I IMPLORE YOUR ORGANIZATION INVESTIGATE THIS SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT IN THE SE AND R/T DODGE CHALLENGER MODELS ASAP. ENGINE STALL OUT ON MY 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 6.1L HEMI. THE CAR HAS STALLED OUT UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS FOUR TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR APRIL 3, 2010. TWICE WHILE MAKING A SLOW TURN FROM A STOP, ONCE FROM WHILE AT SPEED 35MPH ON A STEADY RUN DOWN A CITY BLOCK, AND AGAIN WHILE COMING TO STOP AT A LIGHT. I TOOK THE CHALLENGER IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN APRIL AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND RECENTLY TOOK THE CAR BACK IN LAST WEEKEND AND THEY SAID THE ABS SENSOR MODULE (PART #68048305AC MODULE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYS) HAD GONE BAD AND MAY BE CAUSING THE ISSUE. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES THIS WEEK BUT I AM NOT CONVINCED THAT THIS ISSUE MAY BE RESOLVED YET. *TR
I WAS PULLING UP TO A STOP AND TURN RIGHT TO ENTER THE FREEWAY AS THE CAR ROLLED TO A STOP THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE DIED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS CAR:2010 DODGE R/T CHALLENGER. ALL THREE CASES THE CAR HAD JUST COMPLETED A TURN ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY WHERE LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST IT, WITH NO POWER STEERING, TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ON ALL THREE CASES, THE ONLY INDICATION I HAD THAT THE CAR SHUT OFF WAS THAT THE OIL LIGHT FLASHED ON. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR EASILY THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, BUT THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED, IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE. IT FINALLY DID IT AFTER THE THIRD TIME I TRIED IT. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THIS PROBLEM. I AM A FEMALE THAT LOVES HER NEW CAR, BUT MY HUSBAND IS WORRIED ABOUT ME DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY IF IT KEEPS SHUTTING OFF. HAD BEEN DRIVING THE CAR FOR APPROX. 1.5 HOURS, APPROACHED A RED LIGHT AND TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME HAD STOPPED ABRUPTLY FORCING ME TO MAKE A FAST STOP. THAT WAS WITH ABOUT 1000 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY CAN DETECT SOMETHING. 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 AUTOMATIC. TRAVELING TO WORK ON FREEWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AROUND 15-20 MPH. MY CAR STALLED AND I HAD TO COAST OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. 20 MINUTES LATER I STARTED THE CAR AND CONTINUED TO WORK. I THEN HAD CAR TOWED TO MAK HAIK DODGE ON 1-45 NORTH IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AFTER KEEPING MY CAR FOR 24 HOURS. THE STALLING CONDITION HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. CLUTCH FULLY SUPPRESSED OR WHILE MOVING. ALSO STALLS ON TAKE OFF (TRAFFIC LIGHT, STOP SIGN) IN ROLLING CONDITION, AGAIN PROPER SPEED TO GEAR RATIO ASSUMED. BOTH TIMES CAR WAS ABLE TO BE STARTED (KEYLESS PUSHBUTTON START) WITHIN ONE OR TWO PRESSES OF START BUTTON. I HAVE 1760 MILES ON THE CAR AND IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. 2010 CHALLENGER SRT8 - CAR SHUT DOWN AT RED LIGHT. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE, BUT FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THE INTERNET, IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO OTHERS WHO OWN THIS MODEL AND YEAR CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS MECHANICAL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, RESET THE COMPUTER AND RESET THE SENSOR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED ANY FAILURES AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,290.
