THE ALTERNATOR IN MY 2011 CHALLENGER FAILED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A PRIVATE REPAIR FACILITY. THEY TRIED TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT ALTERNATOR, AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT RELEASE THEM THE PART, CLAIMING THEY, THE DEALERSHIP, MUST PERFORM THE REPAIR. THIS IS NOT WHAT THE RECALL LETTER STATES, NOR CAN OR WILL THE DEALERSHIP PERFORM THIS REPAIR IN A TIMELY MANNER. MY CAR HAS BEEN DOWN SINCE 9/22, AND THE DEALER WILL NOT PERFORM THE REPAIR UNTIL 10/5.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR AS THE RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED OVER SIX MONTHS AGO. JIM RIEHL'S FRIENDLY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1515 S LAPEER RD, LAPEER, MI 48446, (810) 664-2900) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND CONFIRMED THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN TWO OR THREE MONTHS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

STEERING GOT VERY HARD WHEN MAKING TURNS AND VIBRATIONS IN FLOOR ON PASSENGER SIDE.
160/180 AMP ALTERNATORS RECALL T36 HAS BEEN OUT FOR 6 MONTHS AND THERE IS STILL NO UPDATE FROM FCA OR DEALERS ON WHEN PARTS WILL ARRIVE. WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP FOR SOMETHING THAT CAN RESULT IN MY CAR AND 1.3 MILLION OTHERS FROM POSSIBLY CATCHING FIRE OR LOSING POWER AS THE RECALL SAYS. I'M JUST LOOKING FOR AN UPDATE. MAHALO
GASOLINE VAPORS INSIDE PASSENGER CABIN WHILE DRIVING CAR. FUEL RAIL WAS LEAKING AT SEAM AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT ALONG WITH FUEL INJECTOR O-RINGS.
MY ALTERNATOR HAD A SUDDEN FAILURE THAT LEFT MY STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. MY CAT STARTED SLOW, BUT I RAN A SYSTEMS CHECK AND NO ALERTS SHOWED ON THE DASH. I STARTED DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR HWY WHEN MY ABS LIGHT FLASHED ON AND OFF ONCE. I PULLED TO THE SAFEST PLACE I COULD FIND ON THE ROAD AND TURNED MY CAR OFF AND TRIED THE RESTART. CAR WOULD NOT START AND I WAS STRANDED. I FINALLY HAD SOMEONE STOP AND JUMP ME OFF. I DROVE DIRECTLY TO THE SHOP AND HAD MY BATTERY REPLACED. THE NEXT DAY AS I AM DRIVING TO WORK MY BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON. I ONCE AGAIN GET LEFT STRANDED.
MY AIRBAG IS SHOWING THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY CHECKING THE RECALLS FOR MY VIN SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS RECALL NOTICE AND MY VEHICLE IS STILL NOT ONE THAT APPEARS TO BE ON THE LIST FOR RECALL. I AM SURE IT NEEDS TO BE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR SHOULD HAVE THE NECESSARY "LIFE SAVING" REPAIRS COMPLETED AT NO CHARGE TO ME SINCE THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE.
I WAS ON THE 91WEST FWY AND OUT OF NOWHERE MY ABS AND AIRBAGS AND BREAK I SAY ALMOST EVERY LIGHT. "TAKATA RECALL" RECALL #: S43/NHTSA 16V-352 I RECEIVED THE ABOVE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN MAY 2016 AND TO DATE THE DODGE DEALERSHIP LOCATED IN SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA IS ADVISING THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO PERFORM THE SAFETY RECALL. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR MAINTENANCE AND WAS ADVISED AT THAT TIME THE THE RECALL COULD STILL NOT BE PERFORMED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, ALL OF THE VEHICLE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,973.
DRIVING MY 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T ON THE HIGHWAY ON THE SECOND LANE SWITCHING LANES APPROACHING MY EXIT. AS I TURNED TO THE RIGHT LANE ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD WENT ON AND WITHOUT WARNING MY CAR TURNED OFF CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO STIFFEN UP. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR PULL TO THE SHOULDER AND REALIZED MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. I JUMPSTARTED MY CAR AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO MY DESTINATION WHICH WAS NEARBY AND I PARKED AND TURNED OFF MY CAR. AS SOON AS I TRIED TURNING IT ON MY BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN. I CALLED MY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE FOR A JUMP AND WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR GOING BUT AS SOON AS I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL MY CAR SEEMED TO HAVE A SHORT WHICH CAUSED ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS TO GO AND MY CAR TO TURN OFF AND KILL MY BATTERY. READING HOW MANY OTHER DODGE OWNERS HAVE GONE THROUGH VERY SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND BEEN FORTUNATE TO AVOID GETTING HURT OR HURTING OTHER DRIVERS. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO A BIT MORE SINCE IT SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON AND SHOULD NOT BE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. IVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH MY CHALLENGER TO THIS POINT. I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE MY CHALLENGER COMFORTABLY NOT WORRY ABOUT MY SAFETY AND KNOW THE MANUFACTURER HAS DONE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE AND AVOID THE SAME PROBLEM IN FUTURE MODELS. I EVENTUALLY WOULD LIKE TO OWN A NEWER CHALLENGER MODEL. KNOWING THAT STEPS ARE BEING TAKEN TO AVOID SIMILAR ISSUES ON THEM, I CAN SEE MYSELF GETTING ONE,EVEN IF ASKED TO RETURN THE ONE I OWN NOW.
I WAS AT THE STORE AND TRIED TO START MY CAR. MY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND CAR WOULD NOT START. THOUGHT IT WAS A DEAD BATTERY, BUT AS IT TURNED OUT IT WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR. DODGE HAS HAD ALTERNATOR RECALLS ON OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES FROM THE SAME YEAR AND BROWSING THE INTERNET I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT BAD ALTERNATORS WITH OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE AS MINE. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ALTERNATOR. THIS HAPPENED FEB.11,2017
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SMART GLASS WINDOW SWITCH FAILED, AND CAUSED THE DRIVER'S DOOR TO FAIL TO OPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL UNKNOWN MECHANICS. THE CONTACT ALSO REPLACED THE SMART SWITCH HIMSELF HOWEVER, THE REPAIRS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE SMART GLASS SWITCH FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE BATTERY TO DRAIN AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS, THE TRUNK, AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN SINCE MARCH OF 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACTED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SMART GLASS SWITCH MANUFACTURER RECALL: M24. THE CONTACT ALSO WANTED TO ADD THAT THE SMART GLASS SWITCH WAS PURCHASE FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER THE PART NUMBER WAS 68064403AF. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,742.
MY 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER COMPLETELY LOSS POWER WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE THROUGHWAY. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR GONE OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. DEALER SAID IT WAS THE SAME ALTERNATOR THAT WAS ON THE CHALLANGER RECALLED BUT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.
I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BY MAIL. I CALLED NORTHWEST DODGE IN MAY TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THEY VERIFIED THEY HAD THE PART, PUT I NEEDED TO WAIT 10 DAYS TO SCHEDULE. BROUGHT CAR IN AND AFTER 40 MINUTES WAS TOLD PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. IT IS ALMOST OCTOBER AND NOT FURTHER NOTIFICATION AND AS OF LAST WEEK, PART STILL NOT AVAILABLE.
VEHICLE LEAKS FUEL WHEN YOU FILL THE GAS TANK COMPLETELY. VERY UNSAFE AND LIFE THREATENING AS THIS IS A FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD. CHILDREN RIDE IN THESE VEHICLES. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF AT THE GAS STATION WHILE AND AFTER FILLING UP. 1/4 TAKE OF GAS DRIPPED OUT WITHIN 24 HOURS. I ALSO HAVE A VIDEO OF IT DRIPPING BUT CANNOT UPLOAD.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE LEAKED FUEL FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE NEXT TO THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,959.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS JUST LITE UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP THE CAR AND THEN I PROCEEDED TO TURN OFF THE CAR. AS I WAS TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED I THEN OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW THE ALTERNATOR SMOKING LIKE IT HAD JUST CAUGHT FIRE OR OVER HEATED. THE SMOKE CLEARED AND I TRIED STARTING THE CAR BUT IT WOULD NOT CRANK. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING.
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE SHUTS THE VEHICLE DOWN WHEN THE BATTERY ISN"T STRONG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE COMPUTER. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE TRACTION CONTROL SHUTS OFF AND BECAUSE THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN THE POWER STEERING IS GONE AND THE POWER BRAKES . THIS HAPPENED TO ME COMING AROUND A SHARP CORNER OF AN OFF RAMP. I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. OF MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THIS IS COMMON WHEN THE BATTERY CHARGE ISN'T POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SUSTAIN THE COMPUTER. BUT THERE ARE NO WARNING SIGNALS OR ANYTHING WITHIN THE CAR TO TELL YOU THE BATTERY IS LOW. I DID A SYSTEM CHECK WHEN I PULLED OVER AND THE SYSTEM SAID "OK". I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. SOME ONE CAN SERIOUSLY BE HURT OR KILLED.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
FUEL LEAK BY REAR PASSENGER TIRE. LEAKS WHEN CAR IS PARKED AND OFF. PRESSURE FROM HEAT OUTSIDE OR ENGINE RUNNING. DODGE DEALER PUSHED APPT. OUT 2 WEEKS. TOOK VEHICLE TO OWN MECHANIC AND IT WAS FOUND TO BE LEAKING FROM SECONDARY FUEL PUMP ON THE TOP OF IT.AND FUEL LEAKED IN TRANSIT AND CONSTANTLY IN DRIVEWAY.

THE PASSENGER SIDE FUEL PUMP HAS DEVELOPED A SMALL HOLE AND IS LEAKING FUEL INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CABIN SMELLS OF GASOLINE AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 5+ MINUTES. ONLY OCCURS AT HIGHER THAN 3/4 TANK OF GAS
I WAS SOLD A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 FROM GLENDALE DODGE WITHOUT KNOWING IT HAD AN OPEN RECALL ON THE TAKADA AIRBAG
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT THIS RECALL MONTHS AGO. IT SAID THEY DONT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE YET. I CHECKED ONLINE TODAY AND IT STILL SAYS THERE IS NO RESOLUTION. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUS ISSUE. I COULD DIE IF MY AIRBAG DEPLOYS! I DON'T FEEL THEY ARE HANDLING THIS FAST ENOUGH. THE RECALL DATE IS JULY 1, 2016! WHAT'S THE HOLD UP??? PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE AT STAKE HERE!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE WIRES/CONNECTOR FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ARE LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. HOWEVER, THE WIRES AND CONNECTION FITTING EASILY BECOME EITHER DISCONNECTED OR FOULED WITH GRIME (AS REPORTED BY THE DEALER) SO AS TO CAUSE THE SYSTEM TO TAKE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG OFFLINE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE SEAT, IT FLASHES THE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH THAT THE AIRBAG IS NOT OPERABLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AND BEEN REPAIRED AT LEAST TWICE BEFORE IF NOT THREE TIMES, AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON YET GAIN THIS MORNING. I HAVE HAD REPAIRS ON THIS SAME SYSTEM ALONE TWICE SINCE NOVEMBER 2015, AND HERE WE HAVE YET A THIRD FAILURE OF THE EXACT SAME SYSTEM, EXACT SAME PART, EXACT SOME COUPLER, WITHIN 6 OR 7 MONTHS. I ASKED LAST TIME THEY FIXED IT THAT THEY USE A HEAT GUN AND SHRINK WRAP ON THE FITTING TO PREVENT THIS HAPPENING AGAIN AND APPARENTLY THEY DID NOT. OF COURSE, DODGE SHOULD NOT HAVE DESIGNED A CRITICAL SAFETY COMPONENT IN A WAY THAT ALLOWS SIMPLE DUST OR GRIME TO GET INTO IT AND FOUL THE SYSTEM, RENDERING AN AIRBAG INOPERABLE. OH AND I HAVE LESS THAN 45,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE.

FAULTY DOOR LATCH THAT CAUSED DRIVER SIDE WINDOW TO OPEN AND CLOSE INTERMITTENTLY AND DRAIN THE BATTERY WHILE ENGINE WAS OFF.

IN ADDITION, THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE O-RING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

ALTERNATOR FAILED ON MY DRIVE HOME FROM WORK (MIX OF HIGHWAY AND CITY ROADS) AND ALSO DAMAGED THE BATTERY. REQUIRED TOW AND REPLACEMENT OF BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. IT'S NOT JUST THE 3.6 BECAUSE MINE IS A 5.7 AND I READ OTHERS HAD IT HAPPEN TOO.
FROM THE TIME I START UP MY VEHICLE, UNTIL THE TIME I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS CHIMING AND TURNS ON AND OFF AND DOESN'T STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THIS HAPPENED BUT THE DODGE SERVICE TECH WAS UNABLE TO SCAN THE VEHICLE WITH HIS DIAGNOSTIC TOOL DUE TO THE LIGHT NOT STAYING ON. I NOTICED A RECALL FOR CERTAIN 2011-2012 DODGE CHALLENGERS BUILT BETWEEN APRIL 11, 2011 THROUGH DECEMBER 14, 2011 REGARDING THE "SEAT WIRING HARNESS CONNECTORS" (RECALL #N07/ NHTSA 13V-118). I CONTACTED THE FCA RECALL CENTER FOR CHRYSLER/ DODGE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL BECAUSE MY CHALLENGER WAS BUILT ON MARCH 23, 2011. MY CHALLENGER WAS BUILT TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE "AFFECTED" BUILD DATES AND HAVE THE SAME EXACT CONNECTORS SPECIFIED IN THE RECALL NOTICE. WHY WOULDN'T MY VEHICLE'S SEAT WIRING HARNESS CONNECTORS BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE?? I WORK AS A FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND AM CURRENTLY DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK TO DEFEND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FROM ANY AND ALL THREATS BUT IF I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT, I'M NOT SAFE IN MY OWN VEHICLE, WHICH WAS MANUFACTURED IN THE USA.
DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON A BUSY CITY STREET HAD AN ALTERNATOR ISSUE ON DATE LISTED ABOVE IN MY 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER WITH ONLY 34,500 MILES. THE ABS, TRAC CONTROL, BATTERY SAVER, SEAT BELT AND OTHER DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON AND OFF THEN THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT RESTART. BATTERY IS LESS THAN ONE WEEK OLD. AS I AM OUT OF WARRANTY, AND AWARE OF A RECALL ON ALTERNATORS IN CERTAIN 2011 CHRYSLER VEHICLES I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOOK AN INCIDENT REPORT AND CONCEDED TO ME THAT ALTHOUGH THE ALTERNATOR IS THE SAME MANUFACTURER, VOLTAGE, MODEL AND PART NUMBER THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE OPEN RECALL BECAUSE MY ENGINE IS THE V8 5.7 LITER AND NOT THE V6 MODEL. I AM WORRIED THE DEALER WILL ALSO FAIL TO HONOR THE RECALL AND NOT REPAIR MY VEHICLE. THIS IS DESPITE THE FACT THAT I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER SEVERAL MONTHS PRIOR AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK ON A LOUD WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I BELIEVE THAT NOISE WAS THE FAILING ALTERNATOR. THEY TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS A RESULT OF MY REMOVING THE PLASTIC ENGINE COVER THE CAR CAME WITH- WHAT NONSENSE. THE P60 RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO ALL 2011 DODGE CHALLENGERS USING THIS ALTERNATOR NOT JUST THE V6 MODELS.
I HAVE 39,000 MILES ON MY V-8 HEMI 5.7. THE CAR BEGAN MAKING A WHINING NOISE IN NOVEMBER 2015. DEALER FOUND NOTHING. HEADLIGHTS WOULD DIM AND WINDOWS BECAME SLUGGISH TO ROLL UP/DOWN. JANUARY 30, 2016 IT WOULDN'T START. THANK GOD IT WAS PARKED AT THE TIME BECAUSE EVERYTHING WENT DEAD AND IMMOBILE. I TOLD THE DEALER TO CHECK THE ALTERNATOR (I'M NOT A MECHANIC) AND THEY FOUND THE ALTERNATOR WAS BAD. I'VE BEEN TOLD THERE IS A WEAK "CLUTCH" PLATE OR PULLEY IN THESE ALTERNATORS AND SOME ARE BEEFING THIS AREA UP ON THE REBUILTS BUT STILL ONLY GUARANTEE THEM FOR 3 YEARS. THE V-6 HAS A RECALL ON THE EXACT SAME ALTERNATOR AND I FEEL THE V-8 FOR THIS YEAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED. WITH LABOR THE DEALER WANTED 590.32 TO REPAIR AS IT WASN'T INCLUDED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH MOSS BROS. UNREAL! HOW CAN YOU RECALL AN EXACT SAME PART FOR ONE AND NOT THE OTHER?
AFTER PURCHASING THE 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER IN DECEMBER 2015 THE CAR SEAT BELT SENOR HAS BEEN REPAIRED; NOW IN JANUARY 2016 THE AIRBAG LIGHT INDICATOR STAYS ON AFTER BEING IN MOTION FOR 15 MINUTES. HAS BOTH THE RECALLS BEEN PROPERLY REPAIRED?

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,666.
FOR SOME REASON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH GAS SOMETHING UNDERNEATH THE BACK SEAT IS LEAKING TO WHERE IT CAUSES A PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER THE BACK SEAT AND ALSO DRIPS A PUDDLE OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. IN ALL MY YEARS OF OWNING VEHICLES NEVER HAD GAS LEAKS. I CALLED DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY'VE NEVER HEARD ABOUT BUT I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. MOST ARE SPEAKING OF IT LEAKING NEAR THE EXHAUST. I'M NOT THE ONE TO COMPLAIN BUT I'M JUST SPEAKING ON SOMETHING I KNOW IS NOT RIGHT! THE ODOR IS VERY STRONG INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND ANY GAS LEAK ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE CAN'T BE SAFE. THANKS

MY 2011 DODGE CHARGER V8 HAS LESS THAN 45K MILES AND MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT THIS WEEK, I DID RESEARCH TO FIND OUT THERE IS A RECALL BUT ONLY ON THE V6 ENGINE, NOT THE V8. THE V6 AND THE V8 MODELS HAVE THE SAME 160AMP ALTERNATOR,BOTH THE MODELS NEED TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL.
SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR DURING MOIST WEATHER MOISTURE GETS IN WINDOW MECHANISM CAUSING WINDOWS TO MALFUNCTION BY CONTINUOUSLY GOING UP AND DOWN ABOUT A HALF AN INCH. THIS KEEPS HAPPENING UNTIL THE BATTERY DRAINS. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS PARKED. PUTTING WINDOWS DOWN DOES NOT HELP AND DEALERS ARE WANTING TO CHARGE $500 FOR A "BRAND NEW" ALREADY DEFUNCT SYSTEM.
STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE , RESULTING IN POWER FAILURE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO A GAS STATION AND CALL AAA. AAA GAVE MY BATTERY A JUMP BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ALTERNATOR IS DYING AND UNABLE TO RECHARGE BATTERY. LOOKS LIKE THERE'S A RECALL FOR 3.6L ENGINE FOR ALTERNATORS, BUT I HAVE A R/T V8 AND I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS THIS IS DANGEROUS AND SOUNDS LIKE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE .
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW STARTED GOING UP & DOWN. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC & SAID IT WAS THE DOOR MODULE & SWITCH THEY BOTH GOT REPLACED & I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM PLUS IF CONNECTED IT KILLS THE BATTERY.
THE POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT MAKING THE CAR INOPERABLE WHILE OUT OF TOWN. THE COST TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WAS OVER 1,400.00.
DRIVER SIDE WINDOW KEEP GOING UP AND DOWN I HAVE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP ONE TIME BEFORE AND IT KEEP DOING IT COSTING ME MORE MONEY THE FIRST TIME IT KILLED MY BATTERY I HAVE TO LEAVE IT CRACKED SO IT WON'T RUN THE BATTERY DOWN AND BATTERY ARE NOT CHEAP OVER $200 THEN HAD TO PAY THE SHOP.NOW GOT TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN.
THE CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET LOSING ALL POWER AND FUNCTIONALITY. I RECIEVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR THE ALTERNATOR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH, I AM ASSUMING THAT IS THE ISSUE.
