The front windshield spontaneously cracked from the A frame. This is dangerous because it weakens the windshield and can impair vision. Multiple people online have complained about the same issue with their 2023 Challengers. I had it fixed at my dealership and through my insurance for an exorbitant amount of money. I contacted Stellantis and they tried to get in contact with the dealership but I dont believe they did. It doesn't appear they ever did their own investigation nor did they ever respond to my requests for reimbursement. I think this should be investigated given the number of claims online about this issue and that it appears to be a manufacturer defect. In all the cars my family and I have had over the years, none of them ever had an issue like this.
ON 12/24/2025 I found a foot long stress crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I was a National Glass Association Technician for 10 years I can tell the difference between a stress crack and an impact crack. There is no reason for this 2023 vehicle to have a stress crack with only 38,000 miles. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue all one needs to do is google the condition to see there is a problem with these vehicles and windshield stress cracks. My concern is what is the underlying reason causing these stress cracks and is it a larger safety issue as I believe the manufacture most likely knows.
Have a crack in windshield on passenger side about half way up pillar. There is no places of contact just the crack like it’s from body flex and there are a lot of other challenger customers with the same issue
Front windshield on the passenger side developed a stress crack. There is no impact mark and the crack developed while turning a corner. Hopefully this doesn't mean that there is a deeper issue with the frame. This is a common issue on this year and model specifically that many have been complaining about on online forums. The crack grew from 5 inches to over a foot long within an hour. Others have said this will continue to grow horizontally until it splits the glass in two. This is a huge safety risk for all of the obvious reasons which can be googled. Not to mention it makes the car legally undrivable until fixed.
On March 25, 2025, the windshield in the vehicle spontaneously cracked, while parked and unattended, beginning from about midway down on the driver side A-pillar. This seems to be a known and repeated issue with windshields on the Dodge Challenger. Inspected by the dealership who stated that they had seen the issue before and agreed that it was obviously not struck with anything. Dodge (Stellantis) denied warranty claim.
On Wednesday, [XXX] I was driving on [XXX] between Daytona Beach, Florida and Jacksonville, Florida. My Dodge Challenger’s windshield suddenly cracked while driving when I transitioned from the newly resurfaced left hand lane to the lower, not yet resurfaced, right lane. Two cracks immediately formed from the left a-pillar. There was no impact from an object that caused this to occur. The component that failed was the windshield. My safety was put at risk as my visibility was no limited due to the cracks in the windshield glass. Two separate Dodge dealerships have inspected the vehicle's windshield and taken digital photographs. No, the manufacturer themselves have not inspected the vehicle or component. At least not in person. There were no prior warnings to the windshield cracking. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
-The windshield cracked along the right passenger side with no visible impact points prior to entering the vehicle. -The windshield crack reduces visibility thus increasing the risk of a crash. -The independent service center that replaced the windshield stated that it was 100% a stress crack induced through the manufacturing process. No visible impact point was found after removal of the windshield. -The windshield has not been inspected by any relevant authorities such as the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. -No warnings, messages, or symptoms of the problem were present prior to the failure.
WINDSHIELD - VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE AND WINDSHIELD JUST CRACKED. 12" LONG, EXTENDS FROM DRIVER SIDE PILLAR INWARD. DRIVER LINE OF SIGHT. APPEARS TO BE A STRESS FRACTURE, POSSIBLE IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR DEFECT IN THE GLASS.
It's not only related to my particular car. I moved to the US two years ago and was surprised how INSAINLY DANGEROUS driver side mirrors all of the American cars have. There is always a HUGE blind spot. People keep saying that if I adjust my mirrors properly there will be no problem, but it is not true. I've been driving for more than 10 years and now, at least once a week, I find myself in a dangerous situation. The bad thing is - it's is impossible to find a convex mirror as a replacement here. I can't believe that researches showed that the flat mirror is safer than the convex one (is there any research btw)? What's a point of installing flat mirrors on a driver's side? I went to a web forum and found this page: [XXX] (apparently form the UK) posted 2 pictures on 03/06/2023 with American's standard mirror and the convex one. Look at the difference. Within two days of owning the car the windshield cracked. I was backing out of garage and heard a sound, a crack appeared on the passenger side of windshield midway up. It extended horizontally approx 12" toward the center of windshield. Have heard multiple other customers have had the same issue.
