THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. SAME THING KEPT HAPPENING AGAIN!!! IT SOUNDED LIKE A TAPE WAS LOADING IN A TAPE DECK. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER, THE RECEIVER WAS REPLACED BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT STAY CRUNK. SO THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE TIPM IN IT. I COULD NOT GET OUT OF IT, BUT NOW I AM FINANCIALLY STRAPPED FOR CASH, BECAUSE I LOST MY JOB AT THE END OF MAY. I AM UNABLE TO GET MY CAR BACK BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT RELEASE MY CAR UNTIL IT'S PAID IN FULL. I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BECAUSE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH CHARGERS AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ISSUE. *TR
CAR FAILS TO START DUE TO DEFECTIVE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE PART #5026296AF.SINCE MAY 10,2013, CHRYSLER CORP CLAIMS THE PART HAS BEEN BACK ORDERED NATIONALLY WITH NO DATE WHEN PART IS DUE AS OF 7/18/13. THE PART COULD ALSO FAIL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION CAUSING UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. CHRYSLER WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION OTHER THAN THE PART IS BACK ORDERED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE GAUGES AND METERS DISPLAYED INCORRECT READING LEVELS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS ACTIVATED BUT FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

1 SOLUTION 2008 DODGE CHARGER THE ESP/BAS LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I MAKE A LEFT TURN AND STAYS ON FOR A WHILE AND THE RESETS. THIS IS A RE-OCCURRING ISSUE. WAS TOLD BY DODGE THAT STEERING COLUMN MAY HAVE TO BE REPAIRED. (WAS THIS A RECALL FOR DODGE?). THE CAR SEEMS TO BE DIFFICULT TO STEER DUE TO THE CAR BEING VERY "LOOSE" AND FEELS AS IF THE CAR IS NOT ALIGNED BUT RECENTLY HAD NEW ALIGNMENT DONE. ALSO, LEFT REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK WILL NOT WORK. THE WINDOW WORKS FINE BUT THE DOOR LOCK HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING. HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ROTORS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH ONLY 17 MILES ON IT. ROTORS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS EVEN TOLD THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED IN FACTOR INSTALLATION. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE MODULE FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF. NO LIGHTS CAME ON PRIOR TO THIS. I PULLED OVER AND IT STARTED BACK. I WENT BACK TOWARD MY HOME (20 MILES) AND STOPPED AT A STORE AND WHEN I PULLED BACK ON THE ROAD IT SHUT OFF AGAIN. IT STARTED BACK BUT LEFT ME AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I SUSPECT IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FOBIK KEY TURNING BACK TO THE OFF POSITION ON ITS ON, BECAUSE SOMETIMES WHEN I START IT STICKS IN THE START POSITION AND DOES NOT SPRING BACK. *TR
WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND GOING ABOUT 30 MPH AND ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP LIGHT AND ENGINE STARTED TO HESITATE AND THEN HEARD VERY LOAD RATTLING/TICKING NOISE THAT IS NON STOP. CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF STREET. FINALLY GOT IT STARTED AGAIN. CAR DID MAKE IT HOME BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TOO MUCH. AM NOW TOLD BY MECHANIC THAT ENGINE IS BLOWN AND NEED TO REPLACE IT. HAVE MAINTAINED THIS ENGINE AND REPLACED OIL REGULARLY. DRIVEN TO WORK AND HOME AND LITTLE ELSE. DRIVEN WELL, AND TAKEN CARE OF. PRIOR TO ME OWNING IT WAS OWNED BY MY MOMS COMPANY FOR AN EXECUTIVE CAR AND IT WAS MANAGED BY A FLEET MANAGER AND SERVICED AND MAINTAINED WELL. THEY WERE ORIGINAL OWNERS EVEN THOUGH TITLE SHOWS 2 CHANGES. IT MAY HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED TO A FLEET MANAGEMENT COMPANY AFTER THE INITIAL PURCHASE. I AM THE 2ND OWNER. I AM GIVEN A $4000 ESTIMATE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. I AM STILL PAYING THE LOAN FOR THIS CAR. *TR
THIS VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY STALLS OUT, IT CAN HAPPEN ONCE AND NOT AGAIN FOR 4 OR 5 MONTHS OR IT CAN HAPPEN NUMEROUS TIMES IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED AND THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN, THE RADIO, LIGHTS AND WINDOWS ALL WORK, HOWEVER THE FUEL GAUGE GOES TO ZERO. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY FIRESTONE AND ALSO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE TESTS SHOWS NOTHING IS WRONG . . UNTIL THE VEHICLE RECREATES THE SITUATION WHEN IT IS IN THE SHOP, THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED. ALTHOUGH IT USUALLY HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS, IT IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL OUT NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN I AM PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC, OR WHEN I AM ACCELERATING AFTER A RED LIGHT. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS CAUSES AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MALFUNCTION WAS CAUSED BY WEAR AND TEAR. THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED A NEW SET OF KEYS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE OF THE KEYS MALFUNCTIONING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,041.
THE CAR STARTED TO SHOW PROBLEMS WEEKS BEFORE BREAKING DOWN. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WOULD START AS SOON AS I TURN THE KEY ON AND OTHER TIMES I HAD TO WAIT FOUR TO SIX SECOND BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD START. ONE MORNING I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR ON BUT NOT EVEN A CLICK. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER BY RECHARGING THE BATTERY TO TURN IT ON. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED MY CAR WITH WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE FAILURE AND CONSEQUENTLY THEY HAD TO PROGRAM A NEW KEY. I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WAS ASSURED EVERY PART ON THE CAR WAS COVERED EXCEPT FOR THE USUAL; TIRES, BRAKE PADS ETC. I ENDED UP PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET AND THE REPAIR WAS NOT CHEAP. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I LEARNED THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE NEWER MODELS FOR THE SAME REASON. ADDITIONALLY, SOMETIMES MY STEREO TURNS OF, MY WINDOWS DO NOT ROLL DOWN AND TURNING SIGNALS GO OFF. THIS CAR HAS TOO MANY PROBLEMS. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 38,458 MILES. *TR
I HAD JUST GOTTEN THE CAR BACK AFTER HAVING THE CAR REPROGRAMMED WITH THE KEY FOB. THE CAR STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. IT SOUNDED LIKE A TAPE DECK WAS LOADING. THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK AT ALL. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN TO HAVE THE STARTER REPLACED! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY COULD NOT FIND THIS OUT WHEN IT WAS THERE THE FIRST TIME??? THIS ENDED UP COSTING ME $353.27!!! LUCKILY I HAD JUST GOTTEN MY INCOME TAX REFUND. *TR
AFTER RETURNING FROM THE GROCERY STORE, THE TRUNK RELEASE FROM THE KEY, NOR THE INSIDE DASH RELEASE WOULD OPEN THE TRUNK. WE HAVE BEEN USING THE MECHANICAL KEY. DRIVING HOME ONE NIGHT, I NOTICED THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WASN'T WORKING. AFTER TESTING ALL THE FUSES, AND RESEARCHING ONLINE, I DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WAS THE WIRING HARNESS THAT FEEDS THE BREAK LIGHT AND HAD BROKEN. WHERE THE WIRE FEEDS FROM UNDER THE BACK WINDOW DECK INTO A RUBBER BOOT, THEN IN TO THE TRUNK LID. THREE OF 6 WIRES ARE BROKEN IN HALF AT THE SAME LOCATION. THIS IS ALL OVER FORUMS ONLINE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE TRUNK CAUSES THESE WIRES TO BREAK SINCE THE RADIUS IS VERY TIGHT WHEN CLOSING THE TRUNK LID. *TR
KEY FOB AND CAR HAD TO BE REPROGRAMMED, SO I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THIS DONE BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I HAD TO PAY $124 FOR THE KEY FOB AND ANOTHER $49.50 FOR THE REPROGRAMMING. *TR

THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE KEY HAD TO BE REMOVED AND PLACED BACK INTO THE IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE ENGINE STARTED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE STEERING FAILED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A VEHICLE WHILE HE ATTEMPTED TO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH, TUMBLER, ACCELERATOR BOX, AND THE BUSHINGS HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,031 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,300.

THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AS HARD AS SHE COULD BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER CRASHING INTO TWO GATES AND A CURB. THE CONTACT RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE BACK AND LEFT THIGH AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED FROM CHEST PAINS. THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED AND A REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PENDING AN INVESTIGATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING MAJOR SAFETY DEFECT SIMILAR TO RECENT GM IGNITION RECALL. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ENGINE SHUT-OFF AT VARYING SPEEDS INCLUDING HIGHWAY 65MPH PLUS. COMPLETE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN DEACTIVATES ALL ONBOARD SYSTEMS, INCLUDING POWER-STEERING, BREAKING, AND AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. VEHICLE SHUT DOWN OCCURS RANDOMLY. RE-OCCURRENCE HAS BEEN AS FREQUENTLY AS HOURS BETWEEN SIMILAR OCCURRENCE TO AS LONG AS 5,000 MILES BETWEEN OCCURRENCES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS TO DEALER WITHOUT DEALER ABLE TO RECREATE DEFECT. VARIOUS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PARTS WERE REPLACED WITHOUT SUCCESSFULLY CURING THE DEFECT. TWO SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS RECOMMENDED WIRELESS IGNITION (WIN) MODULE REPLACEMENT BUT CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO SEND THE PART. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE STATES THAT WIN MODULE IS ONLY REPLACED WHEN VEHICLE FAILS TO START AT ALL TIMES. VEHICLE OWNER REQUESTED REPLACEMENT PART AS RECOMMENDED BY CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS BUT CHRYSLER WILL NOT RELEASE PART TO VIN ASSOCIATED VEHICLE. THEREFORE, VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 78,000. IDENTICAL OCCURRENCES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO NHTSA UNDER ID NUMBERS: 10294768, 10369140, 10370988, 10386410, 10390065, 10396098, 10508333, 10520262, AND 10525632. VEHICLE DEFECT HAS SERIOUS POTENTIAL FOR DEATH AND SERIOUS INJURY DUE TO PRODUCT FAILURE (AIRBAGS FAILING TO DEPLOY). *TR

ON CHRISTMAS EVE, DECEMBER 24TH 2012 AT APPROXIMATELY 1:45 IN THE AFTERNOON I WAS DRIVING MY 2008 DODGE CHARGER ON A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE FROM MY ENGINE COMPARTMENT. AFTER I HEARD THE LOUD NOISE, MY 2008 DODGE CHARGER IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY INTERSECTION NEARLY CAUSING A CHAIN REACTION MULTICAR ACCIDENT. A LOCAL POLICE OFFER CAME TO THE SCENE AND HELPED DIRECT TRAFFIC UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PHYSICALLY PUSH MY CAR OUT OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD I NOTICED A LOT OF COOLANT POURING TO THE GROUND. I ALSO NOTICE THAT THERE WAS NO COOLANT IN THE COOLANT DEPARTMENT. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE CLOSED DUE TO THE HOLIDAYS. LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO BRING MY 2008 DODGE CHARGER TO TIRE KINGDOM. AFTER EXAMING A FEW ONLINE FORUMS ABOUT WHY THE TRUNK LID WASN'T RELEASING AFTER THE BUTTON WAS PUSHED ON THE DASHBOARD, THE FORUMS SAID TO LOOK UNDER THE RUBBER BOOT FOR STRETCHED AND BROKEN WIRES. ON JUNE 21ST OF 2012, WHILE MY CAR WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT RUNNING WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR, MY A/C WAS RUNNING TO KEEP THEM COOL. IT WAS OVER 100* OUTSIDE AND MY KIDS NEEDED TO STAY COOL.
