CAR BEGAN TO STALL WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD BEGAN BLINKING ON AND OFF WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON AND BATTERY SAVER MODE STARTED FLASHING. MY CAR BEGAN TO DECREASE IN SPEED ON IT'S ON AND BECAME HARD TO STEER. FINALLY GETTING IT TO COAST TO A SAFE AREA ON THE HIGHWAY IT SHUT DOWN ON IT'S ON AND MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND MAKE NOISES. HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO A SHOP WHERE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET INTO MY VEHICLE AT ALL SO I HAVE TO CALL A LOCK SMITH TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE SO THAT SOME WORK COULD BE DONE. THE FIRST REPAIR SHOP CALLED AND SAID THAT I HAD A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SO I GOT IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE I AM CURRENTLY BEING CHARGE AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY ALTERNATOR WHICH ALSO ENDED UP FRYING MY BATTERY AS WELL BUT THE RECALL ON ALTERNATORS DOESN'T COVER MY CAR BUT IS THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL THAT ISSUES ARE COMING UP IN THAT DO HAVE THE RECALL ON IT.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR SOUND LIKE I HAD A FLAT TIRE . GOT OUT THERE WAS NO FLAT TIRES. KEPT DRIVING AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AT THE LIGHT . STARTED AGAIN AND DIED ON THE STREET WITH NO WARNING . GOT THE CAR TOWED TO DODGE OF PEMBROKE PINES FLORIDA . THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG . FIRST THEY SAID THE PCM GOT MESSED I BY THE ALTANATOR THEN GOT A CALL SAYING THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM . NEVER HEARD BACK FROM DODGE SINCE FRIDAY , IT'S MONDAY NOW . I COULD HAVE DIED IF THE CAR CUT OFF ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY . I KEEP UP WITH THE SERVICE AND THE CAR DIED . THEY SAY THE BATTERY IS GOOD . WHILE DRIVING THE WIPERS CAME ON AND THREW ME 10 DIFFERENT CODES THEN TURNED OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING WITH THE RADIO ON, A MESSAGE INDICATOR FLASHED "AUDIO OFF". THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED. WITHIN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES, THE RADIO SHUT OFF AND A WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED FOR BATTERY SAFE MODE. IN ADDITION, WHILE ON A MAJOR ROADWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS FLASHED, THE WIPERS ACTIVATED, AND THE HAZARD LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER RECALL BEING 180 AMPS BECAUSE THE RECALL ADDRESSED THE 160 AMP ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLIES. THE RECALL INFORMATION AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR TWICE IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. 1ST TIME SEAM WAS SPLIT 2ND TIME THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR ROTTED OUT. BOTH TIMES I RELACED WITH NEW PARTS BOUGHT FROM THE CHRYSLER DEALER
ALTERNATOR SHORTED OUT WITH HEAVY SMOKE. SIDE OF CASING TURNED DARK ON TOP. DRAINED BATTERY. STARTED VEHICLE AND A STRANGE NOISE CAME FROM ENGINE. BATTERY SAFE MODE ILLUMINATED ON DASH. STARTED DRIVING AND NOISE CONTINUED WITH ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. DROVE BACK HOME, PARKED AND STOPPED ENGINE. SMOKE COMING FROM ALTERNATOR. THOUGHT IT MIGHT CATCH FIRE.
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THE CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION , 180 AMP ALTERNATES FAILED, ALL SYSTEMS FAILED WHILE DRIVING.
COMPLETE ELECTRICAL POWER FAILURE, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE AS EACH POWER RELATED ACCESSORY SHUT DOWN, INCLUDING BEING ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. THE CHRYSLER GROUP CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL CAMPAIGN ACROSS ALL THEIR FAMILY OF CARS WITH 160 AMP ALTERNATORS. MY MODEL HAS AN 180 AMP ALTERNATOR THAT FAILED THE SAME WAY FOR ME AND OTHERS ON THE INTERNET AS THE 160 AMP ALTERNATORS, YET THE 180 AMP ALTERNATOR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE DEALERS AND KNOWN BY THE MECHANICS IN THE DEALERSHIP THAT 180 AMP ALTERNATORS FAIL THE SAME WAY AS 160 AMP ALTERNATORS. I HAVE TOW TRUCK RECEIPTS, ALTERNATOR RECEIPT, AND BATTERY RECEIPT. AFTER THE ALTERNATOR INTERNALLY SHORTED AND SMELLED OF BURNT WIRES AND FILLED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH SMOKE, IT ALSO TOOK OUT THE BATTERY WHICH I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE. I HAVE A RECEIPT FOR THE BATTERY AS WELL.
HAD A DIAGNOSTIC COMPLETED BY ONE AUTO SHOP THAT STATED I NEEDED MY LEFT CYLINDER HEAD REPLACED. TOOK CAR TO THE DODGE DEALER SERVICE SHOP WHO STATES THAT I MAY NEED LIFTERS OR A CAM SHAFT. HOWEVER, HE ISN'T REALLY SURE WHAT THE ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE IS BECAUSE HE WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE ENGINE APART TO GET AN IDEA AND THAT'S 3-HOURS OF LABOR BEFORE A DEFINITIVE ANSWER CAN BE GIVEN.
HANDS FREE BLUETOOTH QUIT WORKING, CANNOT CONNECT PHONE, GPS, OR USE AUXILIARY, FACTORY RESETS DID NOT WORK NOR DID BATTERY DISCONNECT. DEALERSHIP SAYS THE BLUETOOTH MODULE MAY HAVE FAILED WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE CASE WITH MANY 2012 CHARGERS. NEW STATE LAW GOES INTO EFFECT IN MAY 2019 WITH THE HANDS FREE LAW BUT I CAN'T COMPLY. IF THIS IS A FACTORY MODULE FAILURE DEFECT, WHY ISN'T THIS VERY IMPORTANT SAFTEY FEATURE PROTECTED UNDER RECALL?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, SEVERAL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE LOST ELECTRICAL POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V390000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
AFTER PARKING THE CAR INTO THE GARAGE I NOTICED AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. I CHECKED EVERYTHING IN THE GARAGE INCLUDING SMELLING THE HOOD OF THE CAR. AT THE TIME I COULDN'T LOCATE THE SOURCE. WORRYING ABOUT AN ELECTRICAL FIRE I CHECKED IN PERIODICALLY. IT WASN'T UNTIL I DROVE THE CAR AGAIN THAT I NOTICED THE ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL WITH A WHINING NOISE. THIS YEAR CHARGER WAS PART OF A RECALL TO REPLACE THE 160AMP ALTERNATOR WHICH THIS CAR DIDN'T HAVE. BASED ON AN INTERNET SEARCH SOME OF THESE ALTERNATORS HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. THIS FAILURE HAPPENS JUST OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,340.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER SPEED SENSORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HORN FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY FOR THE HORN ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THERE WAS A SQUEAKING NOISE AND ODOR OF BURNED RUBBER INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE ESC INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR WENT INTO "BATTERY SAVE MODE." I PULLED OVER AND I COULD SMELL SMOKE. THERE IS A WHIRRING NOISE WHEN I ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. MY ALTERNATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. UNFORTUNATELY, THE P60 RECALL ONLY COVERS THE 160AMP ALTERNATOR AND NOT THE 180AMP ALTERNATOR THAT MY CHARGER CAME WITH.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE (IN MOTION) ACROSS A PARKING LOT, I HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. THE ALTERNATOR HAD A DIRECT SHORT TO GROUND INTERNALLY AND THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 160A ALTERNATOR AND THE 220A ALTERNATOR BUT NOT FOR THE 180A ALTERNATOR WITH THE EXACT SAME FAIL MODE. TSB'S HAVE BEEN ISSUED EXPLAINING THAT THIS IS THE EXACT SAME FAIL MODE AS THE RECALLED VIN'S. IT CAME A COST OF OVER $600 TO REPAIR INCLUDING LABOR. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION AS INDICATED BY 14V634000 AND 16V739000. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE LACK OF A RECALL FOR THIS VIN AS WELL?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. RANCHO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO SHIFT INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT AN EXPOSED LIVE WIRE UNDERNEATH THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A THIRD TIME TO CONDUCT THE REPAIR, BUT THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS LATER INFORMED THAT THE WIRE WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER FIVE MORE TIMES, BUT THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DEALER SHOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER WAS GIVING THE CONTACT "THE RUN-AROUND", AND THAT A "STAR PROCESS REQUEST" SHOULD BE FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
MY ALTERNATOR FAILED WITH HARDLY ANY WARNING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE THE 180 AMP ALTERNATOR. THE 160 AMP ALTERNATOR WAS RECALLED FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THIS AND HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND STILL AM UNABLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS FIXED. I DON'T WANT TO END UP IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO IT GOING OFF AT A BAD TIME.

NOTE: I HAVE A RECORDING OF THE INCIDENT TO PROVIDE IF NEEDED. I WERE DRIVING TURNING A CORNER AND THE VEHICLE JUST STALLED. A FORD EXPLORER HOPPED THE CURB IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING ME AT APPROX. 35-40 MPH. I RECENTLY HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED AND WITHIN THE PAST 10 DAYS I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ALONGSIDE AN OILCHANGE. I LOOKED UP MY VEHICLE SAW THAT OTHERS HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT AND SAW THAT DODGE HAS A RECALL FOR MY YEAR MODEL FOR MY EXACT CURRENT ISSUE AND I WERE INFORMED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL. I SAID FOR SURE THIS INCIDENCE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE AND POSSIBLY MY CAR OR OTHERS COULD HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKED BUT WHO SHOULD I REACH OUT TO TO CLARIFY. THE RESPONSE, NOONE. YOU ARE STUCK WITH A TRANSMISSION ISSUE EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A RECALL OUT. THEN I WERE ASKED IF FOR ONLY $130 BUCKS AN HOUR WOULD I LIKE TO GO AHEAD AND CHECK IT IN. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON A ROAD 5 DAYS AGO. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY CAR SINCE I PARKED IT THAT DAY AND ARE QUITE FRANKLY AFRAID AS I TRAVEL WITH MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN. WHAT IS SOMEONE LIKE ME SUPPOSED TO DO?
WHILE DRIVING BATTERY SAVER MODE WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED, A FEW MINUTES LATER THE RADIO TURNED OFF, EVERY LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIT UP, WIPERS TURNED ON AUTOMATICALLY, LOST POWER BREAKS AND POWER STEERING. NAVIGATED TO THE ROADSIDE AND VEHICLE DIED COMPLETELY AS IF BATTERY WAS REMOVED. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP STATES IT IS THE ALTERNATOR (NOT A PART OF THE P60 RECALL AS IT IS A 180 AMP AND MINE IS THE SXT MODEL) AND MAY HAVE SHORTED OUT THE PCM. ALTERNATOR REPAIR IS $937 AND PCM REPLACEMENT IS $380. HOPING FOR A RECALL ON THE 180 AMP ALTERNATOR SOON!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT WAS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION. ROBERT LOEHR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (567 E MAIN ST, CARTERSVILLE, GA 30121, (770) 382-5885) WAS NOTIFIED, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY. A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK FOR THE STEERING WHEEL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED A STEERING RECALL REMEDY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY SERVICED THE VEHICLE FOR AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER STEERING RECALL CAMPAIGN AND ISSUED SEVEN TSBS FOR THE STEERING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WENT ON. TOOK IT TO DODGE DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAVE TO REPLACE SIDE AIR BAG. MY CAR ONLY HAS 18,400 MILES ON IT. OF COURSE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IS THIS NORMAL????
TAKATA RECALL - THIS REPAIR IS NOT BEING DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY HAVE KNOWN FOR A LONG TIME THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM AND HAVE OFFERED NO SOLUTION. WE NEED A SOLUTION NOW! MY SON DRIVES THIS CAR TO AND FROM SCHOOL AND IT IS TERRIFYING. MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBERS43 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER16V-352 RECALL STATUSRECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT A SODA CAN TOUCHED ON THE SENSOR, WHICH CAUSED THE WARNING INDICATOR TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TAKATA RECALL SENT A NOTICE ABOUT THE ALTERNATOR. IT WAS ON THE SECOND CARFAX I RECEIVED BUT NOT FROM THE ORIGINAL DEALER I GOT THE CAR. THEY NEVER REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. TRUNK OPENS ON ITS OWN. AT TIMES YOU CAN EVEN HEAR IT CLICKING AS THOUGH YOU ARE PUSHING THE RELEASE BUTTON. SOMETIMES I OPEN THE GARAGE IN THE MORNING AND THE TRUNK IS OPEN SOMETIMES RIGHT WHEN I START THE CAR IT WILL OPEN, ILL SHUT IT THEN IT OPENS AGAIN. OTHER TIMES IT WONT OPEN AGAIN ON ITS OWN AFTER I SHUT IT. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL!

ON FEBRUARY 5TH AT APPROX. 11AM WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY LAS VEGAS STREET WHEN WE HAD A IMMEDIATE SHUT DOWN OF ALL POWER. DASH LIGHT WHEN OFF AND ON, WIPERS WENT ON THEN SHUT OFF, AND THE VEHICLE DIED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER, NO POWER TO DO ANYTHING ACTED COMPLETELY DEAD AS IF THE BATTERY HAD BEEN REMOVED. TO HAVE THE VEHICLE LOSE COMPLETE POWER AND TO LOSE THE ABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE CREATED AN EXTREME HAZARD TO BOTH MY FAMILY AND TO OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. WE HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE! IT APPEARS THAT CHRYSLER HAS IDENTIFIED A PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE ALTERNATOR FOR THE 3.1 LITER ENGINE IN THE CHARGER BUT FOR THE 5.7 CHARGER THEY HAVE NOT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ! THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY PRIOR WARNING OF LOW VOLTAGE OR BATTERY PROBLEM! THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING GREAT AND THEN STOPS IN A HAZARDOUS AREA! ONE EVENING AFTER STARTING THE CAR YOU COULD SMELL SMOKE AND THE INFORMATION LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE CHARGING SYSTEM. I RESEARCHED THE SYMPTOMS AND FOUND AN ARTICLE ABOUT THE 3.6 L DODGE ALTERNATORS SO I CALLED DODGE. THEY BRUSHED IT OFF SO PURCHASED A NEW ALTERNATOR THE NEXT DAY AND INSTALLED IT. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR STALLING AND LOOSING STEERING.

1/16/17 - CAR WAS LOCATED IN LOT OF MY WORKPLACE, I ACTIVATED REMOTE START, GOT INTO CAR AND BATTERY SAVER MODE CAME ON. THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A WHINING NOISE AND I COULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. ABS, AIRBAG, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ALL CAME ON. EVERYTHING FLASHED AND THEN CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. TRIED JUMPING THE CAR WITH TWO DIFFERENT CARS AND TWO SETS OF CABLES. BOTH SETS OF CABLES STARTED TO MELT. CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED YET BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A RECALL. ESTIMATED MILEAGE 64,000.

I HAVE REPLACED 6 PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM WIRING HARNESSES IN THE LAST 5 MONTHS DUE TO THE HARNESS MELTING AT THE LIGHTBULBS CONNECTOR. ALSO REPLACING LIGHTBULBS EACH TIME BECAUSE ONCE THE HARNESS MELTS THEY CANNOT BE SEPARATED CAUSING AN ADDED ADDITIONAL COST EACH TIME TO THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A NEW LIGHTBULB HARNESS 3 WEEKS AGO & HAD IT INSTALLED DUE TO MY LOW BEAM GOING OUT YET AGAIN, & YESTERDAY EVENING NOTICED IT WAS OUT AGAIN!!!!
