While driving on the interstate at a high rate of speed the MDS engaged and suddenly, the engine dies. I am unable to accelerate and have to coast across 3 lanes of traffic to reach the emergency lane. The timing chain tensioner and timing chain guides had broken into multiple pieces and the timing chain was also broken. The failure of the timing components resulted in warped values, bent push rods and catastrophic engine failure. This left me sitting in my car on the side of the interstate for several hours in the dark. There were no warning lamps or any problems with how the engine had operated before it suddenly died. All parts that have been removed from the car have been kept for inspection. There is a recall for the same OEM timing components failing and causing sudden engine failure for 2009-2012 Dodge Chargers. Dodge used the same timing tensioner, timing arm guide, and timing chains in Chargers built from 2009 to 2019. Why would the recall be extended to all years that used these parts. If they had recalled all the years those parts were used my car engine would not quit suddenly at 80mph and I have to coast across three lanes of traffic or sit in the emergency for hours waiting on a ride. .
THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE WENT ABOUT LIMIT AND THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE LIGHT WOULD GO ON WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD TO PARK THE VEHICLE TO COOL THE ENGINE DOWN. THIS KEEPS REPEAT VERY OFTEN, I FILLED COOLANT OIL COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN I DO THAT IT WORKS FINE FOR COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN REPEATS AGAIN. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO CHECK WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE COOLANT TEMPATURE AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE DEVELOPED ROCKER ARM TICK OR 'PENTASTAR TICK' FROM THE LEFT SIDE HEAD DURING A HIGHWAY TRIP , VEHICLE EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING AND SLIGHTLY SHOOK CAR AT IDLE. THIS FAILURE AND THE CAUSE OF THE NOISE IS DUE TO FAULTY ROCKER ARMS

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CODE WAS CAM POSITIONING SENSOR, HAD THAT REPLACED, DEALER ALSO TOLD US WE NEEDED THE COMPUTER RE-FLASHED. DID THAT ALSO, CAR RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS THEN DIED ON FREEWAY, TOOK IT BACK IN THEY SAID IT IS THE MAIN COMPUTER, ORDERED THAT, WAITED TWO WEEKS FOR IT TO SHOW UP, GOT IT INSTALLED, STILL WOULDN'T RUN. THEY DUG IN DEALER AND FOUND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN GUIDE SHATTERED AND THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE. READING ON LINE THIS WAS COMMON IN THE 09 - 12 MODELS, WHY ISN'T THE 13 COVERED? *TR

RADIATOR KEEPS GOING OUT CAUSING VEHICLE TO RUN TEMPERATURE
THE ALTERNATOR DIODES EXPERIENCED A RAPID FAILURE RESULTING IN A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AT 50MPH. LOW BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND WITHIN 1-2 MINUTES LOST ALL CAR FUNCTIONS INCLUDING ANTILOCK BREAKING, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, AND POWER STEERING. UPON COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, COULD NOT PUT THE CAR IN PARK. CAR EVENTUALLY RESET AND PUT ITSELF IN PARK. EXPERIENCED A BURNING/MELTING SMELL. HAD CAR BATTERY JUMPED AND CAR APPEARED FINE. RESUMED DRIVING, BUT EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE REPEAT OF EVENTS WITHIN JUST A FEW MINUTES. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM AS STATED IN RECALL P60/ NHTSA 14V-634. UPON RESEARCHING ON THE WEB, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT MANY OTHERS WITH THE 180AMP ENGINE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE; HOWEVER, IT IS UNCLEAR AS TO WHY THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR THE 160AMP. I CAN ONLY PRESUME THAT IT IS BECAUSE THERE ARE LESS OF THE 180AMP ENGINES SOLD. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION!
WHEN ACCELERATING, THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD INSTEAD OF SPEEDING UP SMOOTHLY LIKE OTHER VEHICLES. SEEMS TO ALWAYS OCCUR AT BETWEEN THE 1000 AND 2000 RPM RANGE. HAS HAPPENED REGULARLY SINCE PURCHASING CAR

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 60MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ALTERNATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATE FROM 60 TO 19 MPH. I SMELLED BURNING SMOKING SMELL AND HAD TO QUICKLY GET OUT OF THE MIDDLE LANE AND TO THE RIGHT TO GET OFF THE EXPRESSWAY. I TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONING EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A 100 DEGREE DAY AND THE CAR REGAINED A TINY BIT OF ENERGY AND CONTINUED FORWARD AT 25 MPH. I MANAGED TO GET IT THE FEW MILES HOME BUT WAS SMELLING BURNING SMOKE THE WHOLE TIME. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED INSTANTLY WHEN IT SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE EXPRESSWAY.
