While driving the vehicle the shifter link bushing detached from the cable and came off the transmission causing the shifter to start floating and I lost all control of the shifter so I could not take my car out of the gear it got stuck in
First is the cruise control - it sometimes work, sometimes does not. But when it does, it will at times kick on and off while in use. Scary at times. The next is the loss of power on the freeway. there are times when it will just bog down and not accelerate. other times it will catch and shift hard, other times will jerk. when these times occur, the check engine light comes on. But then will go off after a period of minutes.
I WAS WAS AT A STOP LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I GENTLY PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR MADE A LOUD REVVING NOISE. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND FELT LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND PRESSED THE BRAKE. THE REVVING NOISE STOPPED AND I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL TO TRY AGAIN. IT THEN MOVED FORWARD AT A NORMAL SPEED.
I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. RPMS STARTED GOING UP AND DOWN,LIKE I WAS REVVING THE ENGINE,BUT WAS NOT PUSHING IN GAS PEDAL. PUT CLUTCH IN TO GET OFF AN EXIT, AND THE CLUTCH STUCK TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. LEFT ON VERY BUSY HIGHWAY WITH A CHILD!
THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL WORK WHEN IT WANTS TO. YOU CAN SET IT THE CRUISE ON WAY TO WORK AND GO TO SET IT ON WAY HOME BUT CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING. MIGHT NOT WORK FOR COUPLE DAYS OR A WEEK THEN IT WILL START WORKING AGAIN AND WORK FOR AWHILE AND THEN QUIT WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR ALMOST A YEAR. HAS THERE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE
THERE'S AN ACTIVE RECALL ON MY 2013 DODGE DART AERO FOR THE SHIFTING CABLE BUSHING. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, MY CAR WASN'T REGISTERING IT WAS IN PARK SO I COULDN'T TURN IT OFF. I HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP ON MAIN STREET IN NORRISTOWN, PA. MOPAR SAID THE PART WON'T BE SHIPPED TO DEALERS FOR THE RECALL UNTIL THE END OF AUGUST SO THEY WANT TO PUT ANOTHER FAULTY PART IN. THEY ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AND MOPAR SAYS THEY ARE NOT DOING AT REPAYMENTS. THEY HAVE ALSO REFUSED TO GIVE ME A LOANER CAR IN THE MEAN TIME. I DON'T FEEL AS A CONSUMER THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS OR A RENTAL BECAUSE THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I WAS VERY LUCKY NO ONE ELSE WAS ON THE ROAD WHEN MINE FAILED, AND THAT I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY WITHOUT HARMING MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE.
DODGE HAS ISSUED A CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, 2016, WE HAD IT REPLACED SPRING 2017 IT DID AFFECT ADDITIONAL REPLACEMENT OF CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, SLAVE CYLINDER AND BEARINGS WHICH HAD ALSO BEEN REPLACED ALSO IN SPRING IN 2017. THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED AGAIN 10K MILES AFTER REPAIRS, 50K ON VEHICLE NOW. I DID NOTICE THE LEAKAGE OF FLUID FROM A BOOT COVERING THE MATER CYLINDER. THE VEHICLE HAS CAUSED IT NOT TO RELEASE CLUTCH, USUALLY WHEN STARTING, TWICE WHILE DRIVING AND HAVING TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I FEEL LIKE I COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, ID FEEL WORSE IF I SOLD TO A PRIVATE PARTY AND SOMETHING HAPPENED TO THEM, ITS UNSAFE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS ON READS UNDER BOOST FOR THE TURBO, DOES NOT PICK UP SPEED AT ALL FOR HAVING A TURBO
WHILE DRIVING ON THE MOUNTAIN ROADS TO DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY TO DRIVING ANY WHERE MY TURBO CUTS OFF AND I LOSE ALMOST ALL POWER CAUSING ME TO LOOSE POWER GOING UP A STEEP HILL AND ALMOST GET REAR ENDED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. FURTHER MORE WHEN I'M GETTING READY TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY AND IT CUTS OUT CAUSING ME TO ALMOST BE HIT BY TRUCKERS. I GET A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE BAY SMELLS ALMOST LIKE OIL OR WIRE SMELL. MY SPEED CONTROL IS NON FUNCTIONING AND MY EBRAKE IS ALSO [XXX] NEAR INOPERABLE. I WANT TO KNOW WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A TOTAL LEMON LAW FOR 2013 DODGE DARTS THEY ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE FOR THE OWNER AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD . SO IF THIS IS A NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WHY IS IT NOT RECALLED!!!!! CAR GETS TO ABOUT 190 DEGREES AND THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE APPEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND WILL NOT COME OUT OF FIRST GEAR. ONCE CAR IS SHUT OFF IT WILL NOT TURN ON FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR EVEN AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. AFTER 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR CAR WILL START AND GO ABOUT 15 MILES AND THEN BACK INTO LIMP MODE AND WILL NOT COME OUT OF FIRST GEAR AGAIN. THIS IS VERY HASSARDIST
SPEED CONTROL SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT PROMPTING OR WARNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WILL NOT RE-ENGAGE WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. SPEED CONTROL SOMETIMES WILL NOT ENGAGE WITHOUT SHUTTING THE VEHICLE DOWN AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 75 MPH MY 2013 DODGE DART ACTED UP OUT OF NOWHERE. THE CAR SUDDENLY DECREASED IN SPEED MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD LIT UP, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT STAYED ON. LUCKILY I WAS VERY CLOSE TO AN EXIT AND PUT MY FLASHERS ON AND EXITED TO GET TO SAFETY. THIS CAR HAS BEEN ACTING UP WITH DAY ONE AND CONTINUES TO IMPRESS ME WITH THE # OF REPAIRS DONE. THERE IS ALSO SOMETHING THAT HAS BAFFLED ABOUT 5 MECHANICS AND IS STILL DOING. THE CLUTCH KEEPS ON STICKING AND THE CAR CAN NOT BE PUT INTO GEAR. MANY MECHANICS AND DEALERSHIPS CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX OR WHAT IS WRONG. I WILL NEVER BUY A CHRYSTLER BRAND AGAIN AND DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND.
WE'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR SINCE DAY ONE OF DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT BUT THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T WANT TO DO THEIR JOB HERE ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO WE WERE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING AND MY FIANCEE HAD THE CAR FLOORED I THOUGHT FOR SURE MY FAMILY WAS GOING TO LOSE THEIR LIVES BECAUSE THE CAR DIDN'T HAVE THE POWER TO SPEED UP ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME AND MY FAMILY LIVES COMES FIRST WE'VE TRIED GETTING IT RESOLVED AND EVEN TRIED TO USE IT AS A TRADE IT AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSE TO EVEN TOUCH IT THE CAR HAD ALREADY 43000 MILES ON IT WHEN WE DROVE IT OFF THE LOT AND 5 DAYS AFTER HAVING IT THE SHIFTER CABLE POPPED OFF AND SINCE THEN ITS BEEN PROBLEMS AFTER PROBLEMS AND THERE'S SO MUCH MORE WRONG WITH IT AND SINCE JUNE ITS BEEN SITTING I REFUSE TO HAVE MY FAMILY HURT DO TO A MALFUNCTIONING CAR MY FIANCEE [XXX] NAME IS ALSO ON THE PAPERWORK FROM DEALERSHIP AMONGST WE'VE CONTACTED ATTORNEY GENERAL DODGE CHRYSLER MOPAR AND DEAL WITH REINKES AND FINDLAY DODGE FOR THINGS ONE THIS CAR. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STAND STILL ON TO A FREEWAY OR ANY ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT ABOVE 25 MPH IS VERY DANGEROUS IN THIS CAR. WHEN YOU STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE CARS DOES NOT RESPOND VERY FAST AND TAKES A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT ACTUALLY GETS UP AND MOVES TO A GOOD SPEED. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS EVERY TIME YOU ACCELERATE, THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I HAVE HAD MANY CLOSE CALLS WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC.
I WASH STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN VEHICLE MOTOR STARTED REVVING UP ALL THE WAY TO WHERE THE TACHOMETER WAS FULLY IN THE RED. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING WAS PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR DOWN. THERE WERE SEVERAL CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND AS WELL BEHIND ME. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF DRIVE AS IT CREPT FORWARD. I HAD TO TURN IGNITION OFF TO STOP THE CAR! WHEN LIGHT TURNED TO GREEN AND THE OTHER CARS HAD MOVED FORWARD I THEN STARTED THE CAR AND PULLED IT TO THE ROADSIDE. TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND RESTARTED THE CAR. EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO MY DESTINATION. LATER DRIVING THE CAR HOME WAS DEFINITELY AN ADVENTURE OF PURE NERVES DUE TO THE SCARE THIS INCIDENT. I HAVE NOW CONTACTED THE DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND WAITING NOW FOR AN HOUR FOR SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME BACK FOR AN APPOINTMENT. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION TO HAVE HAPPENED BUT THANKFUL NO ONE WAS HURT. *TR

ON THE WAY HOME MY CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT TURN ON. I PULLED INTO MY DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN I LEFT THERE THE CRUISE STARTED WORKING. WHEN THEY LOOKED AT IT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SINCE CHRYSLERS COMPUTERS WHERE DOWN THEY COULD NOT RESEARCH WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. I WAS TOLD THAT ANOTHER LADY CALLED THAT DAY AND HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE. *TR
AFTER DRIVING FOR AN HOUR, I STOP AT A RED LIGHT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON A LEFT TURN ONLY LANE. UPON THE LIGHT TURNING GREEN, I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 10 SECONDS THE CAR AGGRESSIVELY JERKED FORWARD INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY EVERYONE WAITED. *TR
WHEN I WENT TO TAKE OFF, ACROSS A HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE CORRECTLY. IT WOULD ONLY RUN ABOUT 1MPH. CAUSING ME TO BARELY MAKE IT ACROSS THE ROAD BEFORE BEING HIT BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. CHRYSLER IS CHECKING IT OUT AND ARE ASSUMING IT IS THE TURBO-CHARGER. THEY ARE ASKING MY MECHANIC TO PULL THE TURBO-CHARGER DOWN AND SEND TO THEM PICTURES BEFORE THEY MAKE ANY FURTHER JUDGMENTS ON THE PROBLEM. I HAD ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR APPOX. 2 1/2 WEEKS WHEN THE TROUBLE OCCURRED. MY CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP AND THEY CAN'T TELL ME WHEN IT COULD BE FIXED. I JUST MADE THE FIRST PAYMENT ON JULY 17, 2013 AND DON'T HAVE USE OF MY CAR. *TR
WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN THE ACCELATOR PEDDLE STUCK UNDER THE FLOOR MAT. I NOTICED THE FACTORY MAT SLIDING AROUND A MONTH AGO AND RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD TO BUY NEW AFTER MARKET MATS. I REMOVED THE DRIVER-SIDE MAT AND ORDERED AFTER MARKETS. THE NEW MATS HAVE LARGER LUGS TO HOLE THEM IN PLACE. BUT IT MOVED AGAIN AND WHILE ACCELERATING AWAY FORM THE STOP SIGN THE PEDDLE STUCK UNDER THE MAT. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND WAS ABLE TO REACH DOWN AND PULL THE PEDDLE UP. AT THIS POINT I HAVE REMOVE ALL DRIVER-SIDE MATS. I ALSO CALLED THE DODGE OWNERS HELP LINE AND WAS INFORMED THAT (MORE OR LESS) IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. IF A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER HAD BEEN AT THE WHEEL THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A MUCH WORSE OUT COME. *TR
