TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, IT FAILED TO REMAIN STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO STATELINE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 800 GOLD HILL RD, FORT MILL, SC 29708, (877) 679-4176) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM AND PCM MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE PART TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF STOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECENTLY HAD THE SECOND RECALL DONE ON MY TRUCK AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT GET THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO GO OUT. FROM WHAT THE SERVICE TECH TOLD ME IS THAT IT IS HAPPENING TO ALOT OF THE CARS THAT COME IN FOR THIS RECALL. THIS CAUSES ME A HUGE ISSUE AS NOW I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE BECAUSE I CANNOT GET A PASSING INSPECTION STICKER.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID A CAT WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL, BALL JOINTS, AND STRUTS FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT CAUSED HIM TO RECEIVE STITCHES ON HER LEFT INSIDE UPPER LIP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
TAKATA RECALL. NO PARTS EVER AVAILABLE AND AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. WHAT IF SOMEONE DIES BECAUSE OF THIS AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED? THIS RECALL STARTED WELL OVER A YEAR AGO AND STILL NO PARTS FOR THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF THIS. MANUFACTURERS SHOULD BE HELD TO SOME STANDARD WHEN A SAFETY ISSUE OF THIS MAGNITUDE IS FOUND, AND A VERY TIGHT SCHEDULE FOR REPAIR BE MAINTAINED. IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, I WON'T STOP UNTIL I OWN CHRYSLER/FIAT AS WELL AS MAKING SURE NHTSA IS FOUND GUILTY OF NEGLIGENCE FOR ALLOWING THIS TO GO ON AS LONG AS IT HAS.
MY DURANGO SHUT OFF ON ME THIS MORNING WHILE CRUISING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I WAS JUST DRIVING ALONG MAINTAINING 65MPH AND OUT OF NOWHERE THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF AS IF THE KEY HAD BEEN TURNED OFF, NO SPUTTERING OR ANYTHING.
AWD 5.7 HEMI, THE 4LO BLINKING WHILE DRIVING ON BOTH HIGHWAY AND CITY STREET AND WHEN I UNLOCK MY DOORS YOU COULD HEAR SOMETHING ENGAUGING WHEN THE VEHICAL WAS OFF. THE 4LO LIGHT FLASHES AND YOU CAN HEAR IT SWITCH UNDER THE CAR EVEN WHEN IT IS OFF. WHEN, I UNLOCK MY DOORS YOU CAN HEAR IT AGAIN.
THE FUEL TANK FILLER TUBE INLET CHECK VALVE IS NOT FULLY CLOSING AT THE END OF REFUELING. THIS ALLOWS SOME FUEL TO ESCAPE FROM THE VEHICLE FILLER NECK. CONSEQUENCESFUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE. WHEN REFUELING AT A GAS STATION
WHEN FUELING THE GAS TANK WILL BURP OUT GAS WHEN IT IS FULL AND SPRAY ALL OVER YOU.
MY DASH PANEL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. THERE WAS A RECALL ON OTHER MODELS OF MY YEAR BUT MY VIN WAS INCLUDED. THIS NEEDS TO BEE LOOKED AT.
WHILE DRIVING MY DURANGO WILL JUST SHUT OFF (IT DOESN'T RUN ROUGH OR SPUTTER, IT JUST SHUTS OFF) LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKING. I WILL COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PUT IT IN PARK, THEN TRY TO START IT AGAIN. MOST TIMES IT WILL START RIGHT UP AND OTHER TIMES IT MAY TAKE 2 - 5 MINUTES. THIS WILL HAPPEN ABOUT ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. OTHERWISE IT RUNS FINE BEFORE AND AFTER IT SHUTS OFF ON ME. ONE ODDITY THAT I NOTICE IS THAT ALL THE GAUGES SEEM TO WORK FINE EXCEPT THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO 0 EVEN THROUGH I AM STILL COASTING ALONG. THE ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON DURING THIS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE ALMOST HIT OTHER CARS BEFORE SINCE I LOOSE MY STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITIES. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE DETAILS OF THE DIAGNOSIS COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TAKATA RECALL. THE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT HAS TAKEN TOO LONG TO REPLACE.THIS IS DISGRACEFUL AND DESPICABLE. I AM IN FEAR AND DANGER OF MY LIFE. I AM CONSIDERING LEGAL ACTION IF THIS CONTINUES TO BE UNRESOLVED.

THE CONTACT HAD A LOCK SMITH APPLY FORCE TO THE AREA AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INDICATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS TO ADDRESS THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS INCIDENT HAS OCCURED TWICE ON ME SINCE PURCHASE OF A USED 2006 DURANGO. ON 11/20/16 I STOP AT GAS STATION TO FILL THE DURANGO UP WITH GAS. I PLACE THE NOZZEL INTO GAS TANK SELECT MY GRADE OF GAS & PUT NOZZLE INTO AUTO FILL. UPON TANK BECOMING FULL OF GAS THE GAS NOZZEL SHUT OFF & AFTERWARDS GAS BEGAN TO SPEWED OUT OF TANK, SOMETIME WITH HIGH PRESSURE & SOMETIMES IN LOW PRESSURE SPRAY. GAS CONTINUED TO FLOW OUT OF TANK FOR ABOUT 6 SECONDS ONTO THE GROUND. VEHICAL WAS STATIONARY AT THE FUEL PUMP.
I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT SO THE DEALER CAN PERFORM THE RECALL BUT FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS I HAVE BEWN CALLING AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE EACH TIME I CALL THEY TELL ME TO CALL BACK IN A MONTH OR THAT THEY WON'T GET THE PARTS UNTIL NEXT YEAR AND SO FAR I HAVE RECIEVED ABOUT 5 LETTERS ABOUT THE RECALL BUT I CAN'T GET IT DONE BECAUSE THEY NEVER HAVE THE PARTS.
I CAN NOT PUT GAS IN THE TANK. THE FUEL NECK WAS REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE OF THE RECALL. THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM. VERY LITTLE GAS GOES IN WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE FUEL PUMP AT THE GAS STATION MAYBE 10 OR 12 OUNCES THE THE PUMP CLICKS OFF AND STOPS FILLING. I TRY IT AGAIN THEN SLOWLY PUT GAS IN AND THE FILL NECK GETS FULL BECAUSE THE TANK WILL NOT LET THE GAS IN AND IT SPITS OUT THE FILL OPENING AND ON THE CAR AND GROUND. I WAS AT COSTCO AND THE ATTENDANT SAW MY PROBLEM AND SAID I HAD TO LEAVE UNTIL I GET THE ISSUE FIXED. I WAS ENDANGERING OTHERS. I TOOK IT TO DOGE WERE I HAVE MY WORK DONE AND THE TWO FILL NECKS REPLACED AND THEY SAID THE TANK IS BAD. IT NEEDS REPLACED. AT THE TUNE OF $1200.00 PLUS COST. MORE PEOPLE THAN ME HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AND I CAN NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT GAS. I HAD ANOTHER MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT AND SAID INSIDE OF THE PLASTIC TANK THAT HAS A LINER IN IT IS COMING APART INSIDE WHICH YOU CAN NOT REPAIR CAUSED FROM THE ETHONAL CONTENT IN GAS HAS CAUSED THIS ISSUE. THE LINER IS CAUSING THE FLAP INSIDE THE OPENING OF THE GAS TANK THAT THE FUEL INLET IS ATTACHED TO NOT TO OPEN AND ALLOW FUEL TO GO IN THE TANK. THE CAR IS TOO OLD TO HAVE TO PUT THIS KIND OF CASH IN IT WHEN IT IS APEARANT THAT IT IS A DEFECT IN THE TANK WHICH FROM ON LINE SAYS IT IS MADE IN CHINA. AGAIN A BAD COMBINATION CHINA REALLY!!!. I HAVE ALREADY PUT A FEW THOUSAND IN IT FOR TRANSMISSION DIP STICK RUST OFF IN THE CHECK TUBE ,OIL LEAKS ,TRANS SLIPPING ,REAR END LEAKING BREAK CALIPERS,AND THE LIST GOES ON. I HAVE DODGE'S SINCE 2000 AND DODGE HAS ME AS A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN. I HAD 2000 INTREPID 2 DODGE GRAND CARAVANS AND THE DURANGO. HELP PLEASE.

MY 2006 DODGE DURANGO STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND CAUSED ME TO BE INJURED IN A REAR END COLLISION BECAUSE MY PCM SHUT MY ENGINE DOWN PER DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE MY OIL SENDING UNIT HAD A FAULTY WIRE AND MY PCM THOUGHT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY OIL IN MY CAR WHICH DISABLED MY CAR COMPLETELY BY DESIGN OF THE MANUFACTURER TO KEEP MY ENGINE FROM DAMAGE BECAUSE IT THOUGHT I HAD. O OIL. I HAVE A FAULTY DESIGN PRODUCT AND NOT ENOUGH WARNING. I HAVE BEEN OFF WORK FOR A YEAR WITH THE INJURIES FROM THE ACCIDENT AND LUCKILY I WASN'T HURT WORSE. I AM EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE CUTTING OFF IN FULL DRIVE SITUATIONS, ALL OF SUDDEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPS UP AND THAT'S MY PRE WARNING THAT MY TRUCK IS GETTING READY TO TURN OFF. IT IS HESITANT SOMETIMES AND WAITS TILL I AM COMPLETE STOP OR SOMETIMES IT TOTALLY SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. VERY SCARY.
THE TRACTION LIGHT AND SERVICE 4WD LIGHTS STAY ON, YOU CAN HEAR THE 4WD KICKING IN AND OUT WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING THE DRIVEWAY. DODGE ACTS LIKE THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. YOU CAN GOOGLE THE SYMPTOMS AND EVERYBODY THAT HAS A 04 TO 06 DODGE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING COVERED UNDER A RECALL, THERE IS TO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
THE FUEL TANK CHECK VALVE HAS COMPLETELY FAILED JUST LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHER DURANGOS. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT (12-16 OUNCES) GAS BLOWBACK WHEN THE FUEL REACHES A NEAR FULL LEVEL DURING REFUELING. I HAVE TRIED STOPPING THE PUMP SEVERAL TIMES TO ALLOW THE FUEL TO SETTLE, DIFFERENT BRANDS OF GAS AND DIFFERENT FILLER HANDLE POSITIONS. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN PREVENT THIS IS NOT FILLING THE TANK MORE THAN 3/4 FULL.
