BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT DOOR MOLDINGS STARTED TO PEEL OFF, ROUGHLY 12 INCHES, FROM THE FRONT OF THE DOOR. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE OR BOTH OF THESE HEAVY RUBBER MOLDINGS ARE GOING TO PEEL OFF COMPLETELY WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, STRIKING A VEHICLE BEHIND AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR FATALITY. DODGE WILL NOT COVER REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS THE VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE WARRANTY, BUT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. IF OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES CAUSE THE ADHESIVE TO FAIL, MAYBE THEY SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE IN A MORE SECURE MANNER. *TR
PASSENGER ENTRY ASSIST GRAB BAR. THIS ENTRY ASSIST ALLOWS FRONT PASSENGER TO PLACE HAND INSIDE BAR AND GRIP WITH CLOSED HAND TO GET INTO THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS BAR COMPLETELY BROKE AWAY FROM VEHICLE AS PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO USE IT TO GET INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. DODGE DEALER STATES THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY. THIS FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS IF PASSENGER HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO CATCH HER BALANCE BEFORE FALLING BACKWARD ON OUR CONCRETE DRIVEWAY. UPDATED 08/24/11
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
