TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY STALL DURING START UP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER WAS FINALLY ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING ELECTRIC MODULE FRIED THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SOMEONE WILL DIE IN THE FUTURE OF CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING FAST ON INTERSTATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V154000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND HAVING THE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED, THE "PUSH TO START" BUTTON MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT HAVE TO BE DEPRESSED IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED, AS IF THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED, AND THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING ALERT SYSTEM WAS DISABLED. ALSO, THE ABS WOULD ACTIVATE CONTINUOUSLY, BUT ONLY ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,100.
WENT TO START MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO CITADEL.... IT WOULD NOT START. IT HAS 62000 MILES ON IT. HAD IT TOWED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM MODULE. IT WOULD COST 1250. NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. I FOUND OUT THAT A LOT OF THESE CARS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. CALLED CHRYSLER THEY HAVE WASHED THEIR HANDS OF IT. THEY DID GIVE ME A CASE NUMBER IN CASE IT DOES GET ENOUGH COMPLAINTS AND THEN THEY WILL RECALL IT. MEANWHILE I AM OUT THE MONEY. *TR
MY CAR WOULDN'T START AND AFTER CHECKING THE FUSES AND RELAYS I FOUND A RELAY THAT RESET THE DASHBOARD ALARM I BOUGHT A NEW RELAY AND REPLACED IT.SOMETIME LATER MY CAR LOST ALL POWER . TOOK MY BATTERY OUT AND INSPECTED AND FOUND THAT THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED /BAD. AFTER BUYING A NEW BATTERY MY WIFE REPORTED TO ME A NOISE COMING FROM THE GAS TANK AREA . AFTER INSPECTING THE AREA IN QUESTION I TOOK IT TO GET LOOKED AT AND FOUND OUT THAT MY FUEL PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF AND WAS THE REASON WHY MY ORIGINAL BATTERY DIED.AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH OTHER DODGE DURANGO'S AND THE ROOT CAUSE BEING THE TIPM.I DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY ON A TEST FROM THE DEALER TELLING ME I HAVE A BAD TIPM WHEN I ALREADY KNOW WHAT'S WRONG. SO WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? I SPENT GOOD MONEY ON THIS CAR AND I AM IN FEAR OF MY FAMILY'S SAFETY WHEN DRIVING THIS CAR. *TR
WE ATTEMPTED TO START OUR VEHICLE, BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES VEHICLE STARTED BUT STUTTERED, AS IF THEIR WAS NO FUEL GOING TO THE ENGINE. THERE HAD BEEN NO ENGINE OR SERVICE LIGHTS AT THE TIME. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND THAT MANY DURANGO AND CHEROKEE OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES, AND THE CAUSE WAS THE TIPM. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TESTED IT, AND FOUND IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM, WHICH WAS FAILING TO ENGAGE THE FUEL PUMP. LUCKILY OUR CAR WAS PARKED AT THE TIME THE PROBLEM STARTED. MY WIFE GENERALLY DRIVES THIS VEHICLE WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN. OUR WARRANTY ENDED AT 36000 MILES, SO IT WAS NOT COVERED. MY OPTIONS WERE TO REPLACE THE TIPM FOR 1200 DOLLARS, OR PAY 428 DOLLARS TO HAVE AN EXTERNAL RELAY INSTALLED TO BYPASS THE FAULTY TIPM (CHRYSLER STAR CASE #[XXX]). WE CHOSE TO HAVE THE BYPASS INSTALLED. VEHICLE IS RUNNING FINE AT THIS POINT, BUT WE ARE WORRIED OTHER ISSUES (AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ETC) WILL BE A FUTURE PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE, FAILURE TO START. THE STARTER WOULD CRANK, THE FUEL PUMP WOULD WORK, IT JUST WOULD NOT TURN OVER. THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THE THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED. THEY CHARGED IT AND IT TESTED FINE. IT STILL HAD ISSUES STARTING. THEY KEPT IT FOR 2 DAYS AND FINALLY REPLACED THE TPIM. 2 WEEKS LATER, THEY VEHICLE FAILED TO START AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME I HAD A DEAD BATTERY AND REPLACED IT AGAIN. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS EXACT ISSUE IS NOTED BY MANY OTHER PEOPLE. WHY HAS A RECALL NOT BEEN ISSUED ON THIS ISSUE? MY WIFE, 2 YEAR OLD AND 1 MONTH OLD WERE STUCK IN 110 DEGREE HEAT TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
TL * THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE ALTERNATOR BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,863.
THE ISSUE STARTED WITH INTERMITTENT ISSUES WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE (THE VEHICLE WOULD CRANK, BUT NEVER TURN OVER) IN ADDITION TO OTHER PROBLEMS SUCH AS RANDOM PUTTERING WHILE DRIVING AND THE HORN GOING OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. ON THE DATE THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DODGE DEALER, I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO START AT ALL. THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT DISCOVERED THAT THE ISSUES WERE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE TIPM. UPON RESEARCHING THIS PART, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY WIDESPREAD ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THAT THERE WAS ACTUALLY A NATIONAL SHORTAGE OF THE PART FOR SEVERAL MONTHS DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF FAILURES RESULTING FROM THIS DEFECTIVE PART. DESPITE MULTIPLE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AND THE HIGH NUMBER OF REPORTED INCIDENTS, CHRYSLER HAS TAKEN NO ACTION UP TO THIS POINT TO RECALL THE PART. *TR
TIPM MODULE FAULTY. VEHICLE HARD STARTS WHEN COLD. NOT COVERED UNDER CHRYSLER 100000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY. ALMOST ALL 2011 - 2012 JEEPS/DODGES AFFECTED. THIS IS BOGUS AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! *TR
AFTER SEVERAL INSTANCES OF THE CAR NOT STARTING FOR NO APPARENT REASON (I HAVE PUSH BUTTON IGNITION), I SUSPECTED AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. TODAY, UPON ARRIVING HOME AND SHUTTING MY VEHICLE OFF AND EXITING I FOUND THAT MY VEHICLES FUEL PUMP DID NOT SHUT OFF. IT CONTINUED TO RUN FOR 3 HOURS, UNTIL I PULLED THE FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLERS TIPM IN 2011 DURANGO MODELS, AS WELL AS OTHER CHRYSLER MODELS USING THE SAME MODULE. THE DANGER THAT A DEFECTIVE TIPM PRESENTS IS QUITE SIGNIFICANT, ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO USE THEIR SUV TO TRANSPORT THEIR SMALL CHILDREN. IT IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE TO NOT ADDRESS THE FAULTY NATURE OF A SYSTEM THAT CONTROLS THE ELECTRICAL STIMULUS OF A VEHICLE, AND COULD POTENTIALLY DEPLOY AIRBAGS IN A NON LIFE THREATENING SCENARIO OR STALL THE ENGINE, OR PRESENT ANOTHER DEFECT AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME THAT WOULD RESULT IN INJURY. THE AUDITING OF THESE DEFECTIVE SYSTEMS SHOULD BE A PRIORITY AND I MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT FEEL SAFE TRANSPORTING MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE, GIVEN THE HIGH VOLUME OF COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE ELECTRICAL AND TIPM SYSTEM. CHRYSLER HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO INVESTIGATE THESE ISSUES AND RECTIFY THE PROBLEMS THAT THEIR NEGLIGENCE HAS PRESENTED TO TRUSTING CONSUMERS. I THOUGHT THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY REALIZED THAT SAFETY OVER PROFITS WAS OF MONUMENTAL IMPORTANCE, NOT ONLY FOR THEIR PROFIT MARGIN BUT FOR THEIR REPUTATION. I'M PRETTY SURE NO ONE HAS FORGOTTEN THE FORD PINTO, IT IS A PRIME EXAMPLE IN ALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT LITERATURE OF HOW NOT TO OPERATE IN AN ETHICAL MANNER. CHRYSLER IS OPENLY NEGLECTING THE RESPONSIBILITY THEY HAVE TO PROVIDE A RELIABLE PRODUCT TO THEIR CONSUMER, AS PROVED BY MY INQUIRES TO THEIR ORGANIZATION. TIPM IS DEFECTIVE, IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ON A MASS SCALE, AND CHRYSLER IGNORES THE POTENTIAL AND ACTUAL DAMAGES. *TR
APPARENTLY MY TIPM HAD MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING IGNITION PROBLEMS IN MY VEHICLE. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE WITH A MULTITUDE OF DODGE VEHICLES AND DODGE REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!! *TR
THE INITIAL INDICATION OF A PROBLEM WAS THE VEHICLES INABILITY TO START (USUALLY TOOK 3-4 TRIES). ONCE IT STARTED THE FIRST TIME IT WOULD SHUTTER THEN SHUT OFF AGAIN. FINALLY STARTING OKAY AFTER SEVERAL STUMBLING STARTS. IT WOULD RANDOMLY CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING (MAKES THE POWER BRAKES AND STEERING VERY DIFFICULT TO HANDLE). THE FINAL TIME WAS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO DRIVE (OR PARK). IT WOULD ACT AS IF IN NEUTRAL EXCEPT THERE WAS AN AUDIBLE BUZZING WHEN CLICKED BACK TO PARK. THE INITIAL ENGINE ISSUES TURNED OUT TO BE THE TIPM (TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). THE FUEL PUMP WAS BEING SHUT DOWN BY THE TIPM. THE SECOND ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION WAS DUE TO A 4 LOW NEUTRAL SWITCH BEING STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. BOTH ARE BEING FIXED MY OUR EXPENSE NOW AS THEY ARE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THESE PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE AND CAUSED SOME SAFETY OF USE ISSUES AS AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER MAY HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT WHEN THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE DIFFICULT TO HANDLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE ODOMETER STOPPED OPERATING. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY DECELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIPM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
AS OF TODAY OCTOBER 6TH, 2014 I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST IT HAS NOT WANTED TO START. IT WILL CRANK LIKE IT WANTS TO BUT NOTHING. THE FUEL PUMP WILL CONTINUE TO RUN EVEN AFTER THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF, DRAINING MY BATTERY COMPLETELY. LAST WEEK I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 40 MPH AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I LOST ALL POWER, STEERING AND BREAKING ABILITY. ONCE I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE CAR WOULD NOT START! IT TOOK ME A GOOD 10 MINUTES TO GET IT RUNNING. THEN IT WOULD IDLE VERY LOW AND NOT WANT TO MOVE. THIS IS MY PRIMARY FAMILY VEHICLE AND I WILL NOT PUT MY FAMILY IN THIS CAR. I WOULD HATE TO BE ON THE HIGHWAY AND LOSE ALL POWER WITH THEM IN THE CAR. THANKFULLY IT WAS JUST ME THE OTHER DAY. WHAT ANGERS ME EVEN MORE IS THAT I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE "RECALL" IS NOT IN EFFECT AND THE DEALER WHO SERVICES MY CAR HAS NOT EVEN HEARD OF THE RECALL. THEY DID CALL ME BACK AND SAY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TILL OCT 24TH, AND EVEN THEN THE PARTS COULD BE ON BACK ORDER FOR MONTHS. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE WAY THIS IS BEING HANDLED! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START UNTIL AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
ON JULY 30TH, 2014 MY WIFE WENT SHOPPING AND WHEN SHE CAME OUT THE CAR WAS RUNNING. I ASKED HER IF SHE WAS SURE SHE SHUT IT OFF. SHE SAID YES. THEN A FEW DAY'S LATER WE WENT TO EAT AND UPON TRYING TO START THE CAR TO LEAVE IT WOULD NOT START. IT SAID PRESS START. IT DID AND NOTHING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT STARTED WITH THE SECURITY ALARM GOING OFF. I SHUT OFF AND RE-STARTED AND ALL APPEARED OK. TODAY AUGUST 27, 2014 I WENT TO A STORE AND WHEN I CAME OUT THE CAR AGAIN WAS RUNNING. I AM 100% POSITIVE THAT I DID SHUT OFF AND ALSO LOCKED THE CAR. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND THE MESSAGE WAS TO PRESS THE START, WITH THE CAR ALREADY RUNNING! ON THE WAY HOME, IT SEEMED WARM WITH THE AC GOING. I HAD PUSHED THE AUTO BUTTON AND NOTICED THE AC SHOWED OFF. ON THE WAY HOME I TESTED THE AC BY PUSHING AUTO AND THE AC WENT OFF. I PUSHED JUST THE AC AND IT STAYED ON. THIS IS AND INCIDENTAL ISSUE WITH MY MAIN CONCERN BEING THE "GHOST" STARTING AND THE TROUBLE STARTING. I WAS TRYING TO CHECK MY VIN FOR ANY RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE WITH THE TIPM MODULE. IT APPEARS FROM READING OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT WE COULD BE IN STORE FOR MORE ISSUES, SOME POSSIBLY DANGEROUS. I AM TRYING INQUIRE WITH THE DEALER SERVICE TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 2 HOURS FOR THEM TO CALL ME (THEY WERE BUSY WHEN I CALLED AND THE OPERATOR LEFT THEM MY MESSAGE AND TO CALL ME). *TR
DEFECTIVE TIPM. I'M POSTING THESE COMMENTS SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING A CALL FROM MY LOCAL DODGE SERVICE CENTER ADVISING ME OF THE CAUSE OF MY VEHICLE NOT STARTING. IF THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN EXPERIENCED BY MANY CHRYSLER OWNERS (TIPM), THEN I FIND IT SHAMEFUL THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT IMPLEMENTED A FIX. FORTUNATELY I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO COVER THE REPAIR, BUT I DISLIKE HAVING TO USE IT FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM. UPDATED 4/24/2015 *JS
I HAVE TAKING MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES NOW AND STILL HAVE A STARTING ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE WIN MODULE AND THAT DID NOT WORK. THEY READ SOME CODES FROM IT AND DID NOTHING. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN FROM A LIGHT LAST WEEK AND I WENT TO HIT THE GAS AND THE SUV JUST STALLED. ALSO THE OTHER DAY I WAS SITTING IN LINE AT A DRIVE THROUGH AND IT JUST WENT OFF. IT IS VERY HARD TO GET IT TO START 95% OF THE TIME. IT TAKES ME 10 TO 15 MINS EVERY MORNING TO GET IT STARTED. *JS
I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO WHEN THE ENGINE JUST CUT OFF ON ME BUT ALL THE ACCESSORIES WERE STILL ON. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED AROUND THE END OF JULY 2014. THE SECOND TIME THAT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF ON ME WAS IN AUGUST OF 2014. AFTER THE SECOND TIME THAT IT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START UP AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVE WAY FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS NOW UNABLE TO START. *TR

WHEN THE KEY IS PUT INSIDE THE IGNITION, IT TAKES A COUPLE OF TRIES FOR THE ENGINE TO START (IF AT ALL) AFTER FAILING MULTIPLE TIMES. THE PROBLEM FIRST MANIFESTED ITSELF IN AN OCCASIONAL DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VEHICLE, TYPICALLY AFTER IT SAT OVERNIGHT. AROUND THE MIDDLE OF JULY 2014 THE PROBLEM STARTED TO GET MUCH WORSE, THE CAR SOMETIMES NOT STARTING MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THE DAY EVEN AFTER SHORT STOPS. AROUND THE END OF JULY MY WIFE HAD THE PROBLEM HAPPEN TO HER, GOT THE VEHICLE STARTED, BUT AS SHE BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPOT THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE TRAFFIC LANE. AFTER THAT INCIDENT I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY "CLEARED SEVERAL FAULT CODES" AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. THREE DAYS LATER THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN WOULDN'T START, BUT THE "RESET AND REPRESS" TACTIC WOULD WORK AND THE VEHICLE WOULD RUN. AROUND AUGUST 7 2014 THE PROBLEM GOT MUCH WORSE. THE VEHICLE TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AND 1-2 MINUTES TO GET RUNNING ON SEVERAL MORNINGS, NOW THOUGH THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL ONCE STARTED AND BEFORE MOVING. ONCE RUNNING, IN GEAR, AND MOVING THE CAR WOULD RUN FINE. CAR FAILED TO START THEN EACH MORNING AUG 15-17, TAKING 1-2 MINUTES EACH MORNING AND MULTIPLE STALLS. ON AFTERNOON OF AUGUST 17, 5 MINUTES AFTER MAKING A DEALER APT FOR NEXT MORNING, I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR AND THE ENGINE DIED COMPLETELY, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WENT OUT AS WELL. ONLY AFTER 3 MINUTES DID FINALLY USING THE REMOTE START FUNCTION ON THE KEY FOB GET THE VEHICLE TO START AND RUN, THIS ON A VERY BUSY ROADWAY BLOCKING A LANE OF TRAFFIC. NEXT DAY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AT THE DEALER EITHER, THEY DIAGNOSED A BAD TIPM MODULE AND OFFERED ME A NEW MODULE FOR $1200 OR A "RELAY KIT" FOR $587. NEW MODULE CURED PROBLEM FOR NOW. *TR

WHY NOT? WHAT IS WRONG WITH LARIANT #5 THAT NEEDED TO BE UPGRADED TO A NEW VERSION? AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, MULTIPLE OWNERS OF THE 2011 DURANGO HAVE REPORTED ISSUES OF THIS SAME PART. ON THE ABOVE DATE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE TOWN OF PAX, WV WHEN OUR 2011 DODGE DURANGO STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, ON AN INCLINE. THANKFULLY SHE WAS NEAR A CHURCH AND WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE PARKING LOT. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY ( $200) BECAUSE OUR FUEL PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF, EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. I HAVE TO UNHOOK THE POSITIVE BATTERY LEADS TO GET IT TO GO OFF. I HAVE HAD 2 DIAGNOSTICS RUN ON IT AND THEY BOTH CAME UP WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS ( ONE WAS RUN BY A LOCAL MECHANIC THE OTHER BY A REGISTERED CHRYSLER DEALER AT $99). I TOOK IT TO A THIRD MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME IT WAS MY TIPM AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE CHANGED AT A DEALERSHIP SO THAT IT COULD BE PROGRAMMED CORRECTLY. THIS PART WILL COST $852 AND WITH LABOR WILL COST ME AROUND $1100. THIS IS EXTRA MONEY I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO SPEND SEEING AS HOW I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. WOKE UP THE DAY BEFORE THE FOURTH OF JULY AND GOT MYSELF AND THE KIDS READY TO TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN. LOADED EVERYONE IN THE CAR AND THE TRUCK WOULDN'T START. I HAD ONLY PUT ABOUT 15 MILES ON IT SINCE I PICKED IT UP AND MY ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON AGAIN.
