HAVING PROBLEMS WITH PUSH START BUTTON AND REMOTE START WITH KEYFOB.....AT TIMES CAR CRANKS BUT IT DOESN'T TURN ON. HAVE TO TRY MANY TIMES BEFORE IT TURNS ON. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO START, AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT WOULD START. ON 11/11/13 WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET IT ACCELERATED BY ITSELF. I WAS TRYING TO START IT ON 11/12/13 AND 11/13/13, WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED IT ACCELERATED TO 4 1/2 RPM, SO DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM, WHICH ISNT AVAILABLE, BUT THERE ARE PARTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. ONE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN 4 BUSINESS DAYS AND THE WIRING PART WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL 12/24/2013 ESTIMATED. THIS ID SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE! *TR
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE 2011 CAR STARTING UP. I TRIED TO START IT AT LEAST 5 TIMES BEFORE STARTING. THEN EVENTUALLY, IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM AFTER COMPLETING A DIAGNOSTIC. LETTER THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 100 DOLLARS PER HOUR IN ORDER FOR THEM TO LOOK AT THE FUEL PUMP. IF THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM, I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUEL BOX OF THE INTEGRATED POWER CONTROL MODULE. I HAVE NOT HAD MY CAR LONG, AND I READY TO SELL IT. NO MORE DODGES FOR ME. *TR
THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SPORADICALLY STALLS WITHOUT WARNING. SUV WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IS AT DEALERSHIP WITHOUT AN ETA ON REPAIR. PART IS ON BACK ORDER. VEHICLE HAS 36800 MILES. *TR
INCIDENT DATE START: 11/02/2013. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER BUT THERE WAS EITHER NO FUEL OR IGNITION SPARK. CONTINUED TO TRY TO START THE VEHICLE BUT REFUSED TO START. AFTER ABOUT 6 TO 8 MINUTES OF TRYING IT STARTED. THE VEHICLE STARTED EVERY TIME AFTER THAT BUT THE NEXT MORNING IT REFUSED TO START. AGAIN AFTER 6 TO 8 MINUTES OF TRYING, IT STARTED AND STARTED EACH TIME FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THIS REPEATED ITSELF EACH DAY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED IT AS THE "TOTALLY INTEGRATED CONTROL MODULE" FAILED. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, WOULD START THEN IT WOULD SHUT OFF WITHIN A FEW SECONDS OF BEING ON, THIS WOULD BE REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD STAY ON AND WE COULD DRIVE IT. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, OTHER TIMES IT WOULD BE A CONTINUED PROBLEM THROUGHOUT THE SAME DAY. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 013, AND WE DID TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED IT NEW AND THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY THE COMPUTERS NEEDING TO BE CALIBRATED OR RESET. WE NOTIFIED THE DEALER THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED, BUT THEY DID NOT FIND A SOLUTION. WE INFORMED THE DEALER OF PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM MODULE AND THAT WE FELT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER DENIED THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOW MARCH, 2014 AND IN RECENT DAYS WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE'S FUEL LINE RELAY STAYING ENGAGED AFTER WE HAVE TURNED OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE VEHICLE. THIS NEW PROBLEM WILL STAY ONGOING UNTIL WE REMOVE THE M20 FUSE. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WILL BRING IT IN. WE PHYSICALLY WENT TO THE DEALER AND SPOKE WITH A SALES REP. WHO WAS GIVING US THE IMPRESSION HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND SAID THAT NO ONE THERE COULD COME OUT TO HEAR THE SOUND OF THE FUEL LINE REMAINING ENGAGE, WE WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK WHEN A SERVICE PERSONAL CAN HEAR IT AND ADVISE ON IT. WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT THE FUEL LINE RELAY REMAINS ACTIVE AND ENGAGED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STANDING, THIS COULD BE POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING IF IT WERE TO BE REAR ENDED OR HIT BY A MOVING VEHICLE. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT OUR CHILDREN, ANYONE IN THE VEHICLE COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN. WITH HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS WITH CHRYSLER/DODGE VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THE VERY SAME PROBLEM AND WITH A NATIONAL BACK ORDER ON THE VERY PART THAT NEEDS FIXING, WE FIND IT UNCONSCIONABLE THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL!! *TR
ON 10/24/2013 I STARTED THE CAR WITH THE KEY FOB BY THE TIME I REACHED THE VEHICLE IT WAS OFF THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE WHEN I HAD LESS THAN 1/4 OF GAS SO I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. DROVE TO WORK THE MORNING OF THE 25TH JUST FINE GOT READY TO GO TO LUNCH AND THE POST OFFICE USED THE KEY FOB TO REMOTE START BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE CAR IT WAS OFF WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START IT WOULD NOT START CONTINUED TO MAKE A SOUND AS IF IT WAS STILL TRYING TO START. I FILLED THE TANK MIND YOU ON MY WAY TO WORK SO I KNEW IT WASN'T THE LACK OF GAS AT THIS POINT. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED DURING MY LUNCH BREAK TO THE DEALER WHO CALLED A FEW HOURS LATER TO INFORM ME IT WAS THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) WHICH WOULD COST $1,230 NOT INCLUDING LABOR. OH THE CATCH IS THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND HE WILL NOT KNOW WHEN IT WILL GET HERE UNTIL HE PLACES THE ORDER. I QUESTIONED THE FACT THAT THIS WAS A RARE PART AND IF ANY RECALLS HAD BEEN ISSUED AS MY WARRANTY JUST RAN JUST REACHED 41K WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 35K. HE SAID NOT JUST WITH DURANGO'S BUT ALSO WITH OTHER DODGE MODELS SAID HE WOULDN'T KNOW WHEN PART WOULD ARRIVE UNTIL HE PLACED THE ORDER. WELL I CAN SEE NOW I NEED TO EXPECT THE WORST. THIS SHOULD BE A NATIONWIDE RECALL. *TR
MY VEHICLE (2011 DODGE DURANGO) STARTED TO NOT TURN OVER WHEN GOING TO START. IT ALMOST FELT LIKE THERE WAS NO GAS GETTING TO THROUGH. IT EVENTUALLY STARTED AFTER 3 TRIES. THE NEXT MORNING IT WAS WORSE AND TOOK 5 TRIES FOR IT TO EVENTUALLY START. AFTER TAKING IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP THE TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND I WOULD NEED TWO NEW PUMPS. I DECIDED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. HE INFORMED ME IT WAS ACTUALLY THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM THEY MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND IT WAS THE TIPM, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A 700+ WAITING LIST TO GET THIS UNIT, WOULD COST $1200 AND IT WOULD LIKELY TAKE 2-3 MONTHS TO GET IT. NO HELP WAS EXTENDED IN THE FORM OF A LOANER CAR OR HELPING PAY FOR A RENTAL. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I ACTUALLY HAD A 2014 DURANGO IN THE PROCESS OF BEING BUILT BUT THEY STILL DID NOT OFFER ANY HELP. I TOLD MY LOCAL MECHANIC ABOUT THE BACK ORDER ON THEN TIPM. HE THEN TOOK THE TIPM OUT AND SENT TO HIS COMPONENT GUY. HE ORDERED SOME PARTS AND SOLDERED THEM ON THE EXISTING TIPM. THIS TOOK A WEEK TO FINISH AND IS WORKING WITHOUT PROBLEM FOR A COST OF $400. WHY DODGE CHOOSES NOT HAVE SOMEBODY REPAIR THE ACTUAL TIPM LEADS ME TO BELIEVE ITS NOT AN HONEST DEALING. *TR
THE VEHICLE JUST DIED WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT LOSS OF POWER TO EVERYTHING INCLUDING STEERING AND BRAKES. IT WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO WHERE WE WERE STAYING. THE NEXT MORNING IT WOULD NOT START AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALER WHERE WE EVENTUALLY LEARNED IT WAS THE TIPM MODULE . WE ALSO LEARNED THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD BE A DANGEROUS ONE. WE WERE ALSO INFORMED THAT THIS PART IS ON ETERNAL BACK ORDER LEAVING US STRANDED 12 HOURS FROM HOME WITH A CAR FULL OF KIDS. DODGE NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT!!! I AM NOT SURE I WILL FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE NOW THAT I KNOW THIS IS A REAL COMMON PROBLEM! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL SPORADICALLY DUE TO LACK OF FUEL REACHING THE ENGINE WHEN FIRST STARTED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIPM THAT POWERED THE FUEL PUMP TO THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS WAS ON BACKORDER. THE CONTACT DID NOT CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,460.
WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OUR CAR STARTING AND TOOK IT IN AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM OUR WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE REPAIRS SO HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 4 MONTHS TO FIX IT AS IT WAS A $1200.00 OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. AFTER THEY FIXED THAT PROBLEM ONLY A YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THEY ADVISED THAT MY TRANS COOLER WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID AND IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $900.00 TO FIX THAT. MY CO-WORKER HAS THE SAME MODEL DURANGO AND HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. POOR MANUFACTURING I GUESS, I HOPE THEY ISSUE A RECALL THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE A CAR ONLY TWO YEARS AND HAVE TO MAKE TWO MAJOR REPAIRS ON IT. NOT HAPPY WITH THE DODGE DURANGO AT ALL!!! *TR
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START SOMETIMES. TOOK VEHICLE IN TO DEALERSHIP, AND IT DID NOT ACT THE WAY IT DID ON ME. SO THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE, THE VERY NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START REGULARLY. IT WOULD MAKE A NOISE LIKE IT WAS NOT GETTING ENOUGH GAS TO THE STATER. TOOK VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP, THEN WAS TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). THIS ITEM IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS CURRENTLY OUR ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. IT IS THE FAMILY VEHICLE, USED ALSO FOR WORK. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT IT WOULD COST AT LEAST $1,000 TO HAVE IT FIXED. HOWEVER, I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LEAST YEAR IN OCTOBER, THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON VEHICLE OWNED LESS THEN A YEAR. NOW THE PART FOR THE VEHICLE IS NOT AVAILABLE AND I HAVE A USELESS VEHICLE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AND CAN'T DRIVE OR MOVE IT. THIS SHOULD BE ON RECALL!!!!!! AND CONSUMERS SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THEIR SUFFERING FROM CHRYSLER. I THINK THAT IT IS TIME THAT THE MEDIA BEWARE OF THE RAW DEAL CONSUMERS ARE GETTING FROM CHRYSLER. WHEN MY FIANCE DROVE IT TO WORK IT STALLED ON HER, COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED!!!! THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), 14V154000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND STATED THAT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAITED FOR LONGER THAN A YEAR AND THE DEALER DID CONFIRM IF THE CONTACT WAS ON A WAITING LIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REASONABLE TIMEFRAME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO (AT AROUND 50000 MILES), I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH STARTING THE VEHICLE. IF I USED THE PUSH BUTTON, IT WOULD JUST KEEP TRYING TO TURN OVER BUT WOULDN'T START. I REMOVED THE BUTTON, THINKING THAT MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT BUT IT DIDN'T HELP THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE, AND TODAY, IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 TRIES TURNING THE KEY TO FINALLY GET IT TO START. FOR A FEW DAYS I WAS ABLE TO START IT BY REMOTELY STARTING IT, BUT NOW THAT DOESN'T WORK EITHER. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, I DID TAKE IT TO THE DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND WHO HAS PERFORMED ALL MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR SINCE ITS PURCHASE. THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO "ACT UP" BUT GUESSED THAT IT IS THE TIPM AND QUOTED ME $1,067 TO REPAIR/REPLACE. I WAS TOLD THE PART ITSELF WAS $800. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT CHRYSLER WAS WORKING ON SOME SORT OF BY-PASS THAT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN MARCH 2014, AND WILL BE MUCH CHEAPER. BASED ON THE FACT THAT EVERY DAY STARTING GETS MORE PROBLEMATIC, THERE IS NO WAY I CAN WAIT UNTIL MARCH TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. EVERY DAY I WONDER IF THIS IS THE DAY IT WON'T START AT ALL. ON THE OTHER HAND, FROM WHAT I'M READING ONLINE, IT APPEARS I PROBABLY CAN'T GET THE PART ANYWAY, BECAUSE THERE ARE APPARENTLY SO MANY ORDERS FOR THIS PART, THAT IT IS ON BACK ORDER AND PEOPLE ARE WAITING MONTHS TO GET THE PART. I LIVE RURALLY AND HAVE TO HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE. I HAD A 2000 DURANGO THAT NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS AND WAS THE MAIN REASON I BOUGHT THIS ONE. "BOUGHT" - MEANING I STILL HAVE OVER 3 YEARS OF PAYMENTS LEFT, AND AM FACING MAJOR REPAIR BILLS AS WELL, WHICH I CAN'T AFFORD. ON SEPTEMBER 29TH THE VEHICLE HAD TROUBLE STARTING AND WOULD DIE WHEN YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE. MY WIFE WAS OUT OF TOWN AND THE VEHICLE DIED WHILE GOING THROUGH IN INTERSECTION. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET TO HER PARENTS AND AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON LINE I FOUND THE VEHICLE HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS MANY OTHERS WITH A FAULTY TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). DODGE CONFIRMED IT WAS A BAD TIPM AND THE PART WAS REPLACED BY DODGE THOUGH NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY IT TOOK TWO WEEKS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE AND THE TOTAL COST FOR REPAIRS WAS ALMOST $1200.00. *TR

THE 2011 DURANGO WONT START. A BAD TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. OVER 800 ON BACK ORDERED. SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BY CHRYSLER. *TR
OCCASIONALLY WHEN BRAKING, PARTICULARLY AT SPEEDS BELOW 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL STIFFENS UP AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO TRAVEL DESPITE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS A REPEATING PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT EVENTUALLY THIS COULD LEAD TO A CRASH. I NOTICE THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED AND BY OTHERS AND RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED ON 2012 THROUGH 2013, BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED BECAUSE IT IS A 2011. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DODGE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR COULD NOT CRANK BECAUSE OF A BAD TIPM MODULE. WELL THAT WAS A MONTH AGO, AS I WAS TOLD THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND WOULD BE HERE OCTOBER 20TH. WELL THAT DATE CAME AND PASSED AND NOW I AM TOLD THE PART WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER 19TH. AS I AM A CUSTOMER WHO IS SUPPORTED DODGE I AM BEGINNING TO HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS AND WILL KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN I PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) ON MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO CITADEL HAS ALSO GONE OUT AS OTHER HAVE POSTED. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT THE LAST 2 DAYS I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS STARTING THE VEHICLE. AFTER 65 MINUTES THEY SAID THEY HAD TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AND MY VEHICLE WAS GOOD TO GO. THE NEXT MORNING THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER AT ALL. THE BATTERY WAS GOOD BUT NO ELECTRICAL ITEMS WORKED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHICH TOWED THE VEHICLE IN AFTER 8 HOURS THEY CLAIMED IT WAS NOW THE TOTAL INTERGRATED POWER MODULE THAT WENT OUT. THEY SAID THE COST FOR THE PART AND LABOR WILL BE ABOUT $1,185. BUT THE PART IS BACK-ORDERED. THEY CLAIM THERE ARE CURRENTLY 2085 VEHICLES WAITING FOR THIS PART AND THAT IT COULD BE 1-5 MONTHS TO GET THE PART. *TR
I HAVE A 2011 DODGE DURANGO THAT HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP'S SHOP SINCE SEPT 20TH. THE FUEL PUMPS FAILED BECAUSE OF A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THIS ITEM HAS BEEN ON BACKORDER AND IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH...DEALERSHIPS NATIONWIDE ARE RESTRICTED TO ORDERING ONE MODULE PER WEEK. I WAS HAVING TROUBLES WITH THE AUTO START. READ ABOUT A SERVICE BULLETIN (NUMBER: 08-024-11 REV. A) THAT FIXES THE ISSUE WITH A FLASH REPROGRAM HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER SAID THAT MY VIN NUMBER WERE NOT AFFECTED BY THE ISSUE. THEN FIVE DAYS AGO THERE WAS A FAN TYPE NOISE FROM THE REAR BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAN NOISE STAYED ON ALL NIGHT AND DRAINED MY BATTERY. I JUMP STARTED THE CAR AND IT HELD A CHARGE AND RAN FINE BUT THE FAN NOISE NEVER STOPPED. I'M BEING TOLD THAT THE FAN NOISE IS THE ABS STAYING ON BECAUSE THE TIPM IS BAD. I'M SURE THAT PARTS OF THE CAR STAYING ON BY THEMSELVES ESPECIALLY THOSE RELATED TO THE ABS MODULE MUST BE OF SOME SAFETY CONCERN. THE CAR NOT STARTING COULD BE DUE TO THE FUEL PUMP NOT BEING STARTED BY THE TIPM THIS ALSO IS CONCERNING. THE PART IS ON A 800+ BACK ORDER. SO THIS IS AFFECTING OVER 800 CUSTOMERS. I'VE MET ONE PERSON HERE IN MY CITY WHO SAYS HE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING AND 9 OTHER PEOPLE AT HIS DEALERSHIP ARE WAITING ON THIS PART. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IT KEEPS TURNING AND TURNING AFTER TRYING TO USE THE PUSH TO START, IT WILL CRANK, REV UP AND TURN RIGHT BACK OFF IF YOU USE THE KEY TO START IT, AND IT HAS ALREADY BEEN FLASHED WHICH DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE LEARNED FROM TWO DEALERSHIPS THAT THERE IS OVER 14,000 ON BACKORDER. THEY DO NOT HAVE A ETA AND THEY ARE TRYING TO GET CONSUMERS TO PAY FOR THE VEHICLES IF THEY DO NOT HAVE THE BASIC WARRANTY. I CONTACTED A DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD WORK ON THE VEHICLE AFTER THE HOLIDAY JANUARY 9 2014 BUT CHANGE IT TO THE 21 OF JANUARY SO I CONTACTED CHRYSLER DODGE CORP AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AND I STATED THAT OTHERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS THERE A RECALL. THEY SENT ME TO THE STEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECK OUT. THEY STATED THAT IT WOULD TAKE THEM A WHILE TO CHECK IT OUT ONE DAY AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM (TIP MODULE) AND THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR IT AND IF NOT THEY WILL CHARGE ME 45 DOLLARS A DAY IF I DID NOT PICK IT UP. AFTER MORE CALLS TO CHRYSLER THEY NOW BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS A TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). TIPM IS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER WITH NO KNOWN RELEASE/ EXPECTED AVAILABILITY DATE. CHRYSLER WILL WARRANTY THE TIPM PART. CAR NOW SITS AT THE DEALER FOR ALMOST 30 DAYS AND NO ONE HAS ANY ESTIMATE AS TO A FIX DATE. NOW WAITING ON A CASE MANAGER TO CONTACT ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND POSSIBLE RENTAL CAR AND REFUND FOR REPLACED PARTS. SENDING OFF PAPER WORK FOR LEMON LAW. ON 08/31/2013 I WAS LEAVING THE GROCERY STORE AND MY CAR WHICH HAS PUSH BUTTON START KEPT TRYING TO START BUT WOULDN'T CATCH. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND SAT A FEW MIN THEN WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED I STOPPED AT WALGREENS AND THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING BUT THIS TIME I HAD TO PULL THE PUSH START BUTTON OFF TO GET IT TO STOP TRYING TO START ITSELF AND MANUALLY SHUT IT OFF. AFTER ABOUT 30 MIN OF SITTING WITH MY GROCERIES AND MY DAUGHTER IN MY HOT CAR ON MY BIRTHDAY OF ALL DAYS I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED MOVING AND IT DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC LEAVING THE PARKING LOT. I WAS PANICKING CAN YOU IMAGINE IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY??? I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO GET ASSISTANCE TO GET INTO A PARKING SPACE AND OUT OF THE TRAFFIC AREA. I HAD A TOW TRUCK TOW MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE WHEN WE COULD GET IT TO START IT WOULD START AND DIE IMMEDIATELY. I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THANKFULLY SINCE I JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN DECEMBER OF 2012 IT HAS BEEN ONLY 8 MONTHS AND I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS. ENGINE WOULD NOT START WITH MULTIPLE IGNITION ATTEMPTS. ENGINE WOULD SPORADICALLY START AND BEGIN TO IDLE, WITHIN SECONDS IDLE RPM WOULD PROGRESSIVELY DECREASE INCITING KNOCKING NOISES AND SEVERE SHAKING, ULTIMATELY CAUSING ENGINE TO SHUTOFF. CALLED LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO DISCUSS PROBLEM WITH SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHICH INSTRUCTED THE REMOVAL OF THE PUSH/START BUTTON FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND TO UTILIZE THE KEY FOB FOR IGNITION; CITING POSSIBLE PUSH/START BUTTON MALFUNCTION. THIS IGNITION METHOD RESOLVED PROBLEM FOR INITIAL INCIDENT. THE NEXT DAY, SAME ENGINE IGNITION MALFUNCTION MANIFEST. AFTER MULTIPLE IGNITION ATTEMPTS VEHICLE STARTED AND WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS. SERVICE TECHNICIAN REPORTED TIPM MALFUNCTION WITH FUEL PUMP OR FUEL PUMP RELAY. SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THE TIPM WAS ON INTERNATIONAL BACKORDER WITH NO KNOWN AVAILABILITY DATE. SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THE DEALERSHIP HAD ALREADY CONDUCTED 9 TIPM REPLACEMENTS AND HAD 4 VEHICLES ON THE LOT CURRENTLY AWAITING REPLACEMENT PARTS. DUE TO LACK OF REPLACEMENT TIPM, VEHICLE IS STILL PRESENTING IGNITION MALFUNCTION AND IS HIGHLY UNRELIABLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE. *JB
MY 2011 DURANGO DOES NOT START. IT PRESENTS SIMILAR TO HOW A CAR WOULD IN THE PAST WHEN THE FUEL PUMP WOULD FAIL. THE DEALER DID A "DIAGNOSTIC" AND INITIALLY SAID IT WAS OK AND IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY. FIRST STOP ON THE WAY HOME AT THE STORE, IT WOULDN'T START AGAIN. WHEN WE DID GET IT STARTED, IT HAS NOW BEEN SITTING IN OUR DRIVE FOR A MONTH WAITING FOR A PART THE DEALER IDENTIFIED AS THE TIPM, TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THEY SAID IT WAS 1100 PARTS BACKORDERED, AND GAVE A STORY ABOUT HOW THE PART IS SPECIFIC FOR THE VEHICLE AND HOW THE PART PRODUCTION WERE AFFECTED BY THE RECESSION ETC. THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST DONE WITH IT'S THIRD YEAR PRODUCTION, MOVING TO 4TH YEAR NOW, AND THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE NO PART. WE HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD OCTOBER 22 THEY MAY HAVE THE PART, AFTER BEING TOLD IT WOULD BE "NO LATER THAT 9/23/13". THE DEALERSHIP (AND ANOTHER LOCAL ONE) HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR RESOLUTION, AND DESPITE HAVING A CASE MANAGER AT DODGE, STILL GETTING RUN AROUND. WE HAVE HEARD THIS IS FAIRLY COMMON FOR THIS TO OCCUR BETWEEN 35000 AND 75000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE, AND IT MANIFEST AS VARIOUS ELECTRONIC ISSUES FROM STARTING, TO VARIOUS SIGNAL AND WIPER MALFUNCTIONS ETC, ANYTHING ELECTRICAL.

MY SUV STALLED ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I KEPT DRIVING IT FOR 2 DAYS. THE STALLING CONTINUED DAILY AND IT TOOK A FEW ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE CAR WOULD START. ONE NIGHT WHEN I GOT HOME AND PARKED, IT SOUNDED LIKE I HAD A FLAT TIRE. HOWEVER, THE SOUND OF AIR BEING RELEASED WASN'T ANY OF MY TIRES. THE SOUND WAS COMING FROM UNDER NEATH THE CAR LIKE WHERE THE FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE BATTERY. I PURCHASED A NEW BATTEREY AND TESTED IT OUT OVER THE WEEKEND. I CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AND MY CAR STARTED MAKING A HUMING SOUND WHEN ON AND AS I WOULD DRIVE IT. THE DAY THAT I WAS DRIVING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP A BUNCH OF SMOKE WAS COMING IN FROM THE AC VENTS WITH SMALL PARTICALS. I HAD TO TURN OFF MY AC. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK NOW AND SO FAR THEY FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR ISN'T WORKING.
IT BEGAN WHEN THE CAR WOULD CRANK AND NOT START SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ACTUALLY STARTING. I TOOK IT IN (FIGURING AT SOME POINT IT WOULD JUST NOT START AT ALL AND LEAVE ME STRANDED) AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT AND SENT ME HOME. IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN, SO I TOOK IT BACK IN AND THEY REFLASHED SOMETHING OR OTHER AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. THE REFLASH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT I DID NOT TAKE IT BACK IN, FIGURING I WOULD LEAVE WITH THE SAME RESULT. FINALLY, THE CAR DIED ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT, WITH MY SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR. NO POWER BRAKES, NO POWER STEERING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT GOING TERRIBLY FAST AND THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND. I TOOK IT BACK IN AGAIN, AND THEY TOLD ME IT NEEDED A NEW TPIM. AFTER SPEAKING WITH DODGE, THIS IS APPARENTLY A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE '11 DURANGOS. THE NEW TPIM WAS INSTALLED, HOWEVER, FOR SOME REASON, ACTIVATING THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL NOW FLASHES THE FOG LIGHTS. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THIS IS DUE TO A SECOND FAULTY TPIM. *TR
VEHICLE IS HAVING ISSUES STARTING, EITHER BY REMOTE START OR BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY DOCUMENTED CASES OF THIS ON THE 2011 MODEL YEAR. ALL HAVE BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO THE FAILURE OF THE "TOTALLY INTEGRATED CONTROL MODULE" TICM. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAY IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR IT EITHER. BASED ON RESEARCH IT APPEARS THAT THE TIPM MODULE FAILURE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH DODGE VEHICLES FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS YET NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. *TR
MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. DODGE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AT THE TIPM. THERE ARE OVER 800 TIPMS ON BACK ORDER TO DATE WITH AN ESTIMATED 4-6 WEEKS ON EXPECTED DELIVERY. THE DODGE TALK FORUM HAS OVER 900 BLOGS WITH OTHER DODGE VEHICLE OWNERS HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE TIPM. THE TIPM ON MY CAR IS CAUSING THE FUEL SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION BUT SINCE THE TIPM IS THE FUSE BOX IT CONTROLS MULTIPLE COMPONENTS ON THE VEHICLE. OTHER DODGE OWNERS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH HEADLIGHTS, ELECTRIC WINDOWS, BATTERIES, AND THE LIST GOES ON. DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ONLY WILLING TO OFFER ASSISTANCE IF THE PART IS ORDERED THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEN THE ASSISTANCE IS LIMITED TO EXPEDITING THE PART ORDER. AT THE VERY LEAST DODGE SHOULD OFFER EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE PART ITSELF WHICH COSTS $800 ALONE AND WITH INSTALLATION AT THE DEALERSHIP RUNS OVER $1300.
I OWN A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. I ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT POWER ON. THE VECHICLE WAS BROGHT TO THE DEALER WHICH SAID THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE WINS MODULE AND IT HAD TO BE REPROGRAMMED, AFTER THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE AND THE WINS MODULE WAS REPALCED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND IS FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE WITH THIS PART. THE PART WAS ORDERED, AND WAS BACK ORDERED AND DUE ON 8/27, NOW I AM BEING TOLD THAT THE PART WILL NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 9/15. MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR A MONTH ALREADY. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE IS A VOICE BUT OFFERS LITTLE OR NO HELP TOWARDS RESOLUTION. THE PART IS OBVIOUSLY PROBLEMATIC AND THEY CAN'T KEEP THEM IN STOCK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THE TOLD ME THE PCM MODULE WAS BAD BUT WHEN THEY TRIED TO PROGRAM IT, IT SHOWED THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD SO I PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY. ONCE THEY COMPLETED IT THEY STATED THAT THEY STARTED THE DURANGO AND IT STARTED WITHOUT ANY ISSUE BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO PICK IT UP, IT STALLED AGAIN AND IT TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED. I DROVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS UNTIL ONE DAY I WENT TO THE STORE AND WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE STORE IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT SAT THERE FOR ABOUT A WEEK UNTIL THEY FINALLY DIAGNOSED IT AS HAVING A BAD TIPM MODULE (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE).THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE TIPM MODULE IS ON BACKORDER (1352 AHEAD OF ME TO BE EXACT). THERE ARE LOTS OF REPORTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING A BAD TIPM. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON IT. I PRESENTED MY CONCERNS TO CHRYSLER\DODGE ABOUT THIS AND THE ONLY THING I GOT WAS AN APOLOGY. PLEASE, PLEASE INVESTIGATE. DEALERSHIP MADE US PAY $900 PLUS FOR THE PART AND LET US DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT. ISSUE STILL OCCURRED FOR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK BEFORE THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE GOING 60 MPH DOWN THE ROAD. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER BEFORE BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP AND CONTINUED TO BEHAVE THE SAME UNTIL ONE DAY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START ANY MORE AT ALL. NOW WHAT HAPPEN WAS THE TIPM WAS CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO STAY ON ALL THE TIME AND THUS DRAINED THE BATTERY, AND NOW THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AT ALL. THE VEHICLE IS JUST OVER TWO YEARS OLD. TODAY WE CONTACTED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND WERE TOLD, THEY WERE NOT EVEN SUPPOSE TO LET US DRIVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT WITH THE TIPM BEING BAD. WE HAVE WAITED OVER 10 WEEKS FOR A REPLACEMENT PART AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE MONEY AND WERE TOLD TODAY BY CORPORATE THAT OVER +1000 OF THE TIPMS ARE ON BACK ORDER WITH NO EXPECTED DATE OF DELIVERY. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT A PART LIKE THIS WOULD GO OUT ON A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE. THIS DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE MADE A MANDATORY RECALL AND REIMBURSEMENT BY THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS PUSH BUTTON START. THE BATTERY IN THE REMOTE THAT CONTROLS THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DIE AND THE VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO START. TOOK THE REMOTES TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE BATTERIES CHANGED. THEY MANAGED TO DAMAGE THE PROGRAMMING TO THE VEHICLE. TWO DAYS AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AT ALL.
