THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY STOP RUNNING WHILE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT OR WHEN MAKING A SLOW TURN. WHEN IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING I LOOSE POWER STEERING AND HAVE HIT THE CURB.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT WILL RANDOMLY BEGIN TO STALL WHEN DRIVING AND POWER OFF. ONCE YOU LET YOU SIT IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP KIND ROUGH AND THEN DRIVE FINE. THEN COUPLE DAYS LATER IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. MY WIFE WAS MAKING A TURN WHEN IT STALLED AND ALMOST GOT T BONED. WE TOOK IT IN FOR THE FUEL PUMP RECALL BUT NO PARTS HAVE BEEN PUSHED OUT FOR THIS RECALL NOR HAVE BEEN MADE. THEY TOLD.US TO JUST KEEP DRIVING IT EVEN THOUGH ITS ASKING G FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN. I ASKED FOR A REPLACEMENT CAR AND WAS DENIED AND WAS TOLD I CAN TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER BUT THEY SAID THE SAME THING.
SINCE MY CAR HAS HAD 74,000 MILES I HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR "ABRUPT SHUTDOWNS". MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP MORE THAN 1/2 A DOZEN TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE MY CAR SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE. CAR IS ALWAYS IN MOTION AND COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN WHETHER IT BE ON THE STREET, HIGHWAY (LITERALLY HAD TO PUT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE DURING TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY) OR TURNING A CORNER, IT COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AND "FSW" FLASHES. ALL POWER IS TURNED OFF AND LITERALLY HAVE TO DRIVE OFF TO THE SIDE (IF I AM ABLE TO), OF I JUST SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF MY ROUTE, PUT IN PARK AND CONTINUE ON MY DRIVE. I HAVE MULTIPLE PHOTOS THAT I HAVE TAKEN OF MY DASHBOARD, SHOWING THIS "FSW" (SHOWING MILEAGE). LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS DECEMBER 2019
I HAVE REPORTED THIS BEFORE. MY VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC A NUMBER OF TIMES BUT NOTHING FIXES THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IT HAPPENS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WHEN MY VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKS UP MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DIRECT THE CAR. IT HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES WHILE DRIVING AND PULLING UP TO A STOP LIGHT. THIS STARTED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO BUT I'M PUTTING THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED AS THE DATE.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that after driving at various speeds then coming to a stop the vehicle would stall. The contact would restart the vehicle to regain proper function. NOTICED A "TAPPING" NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE ON RIGHT DRIVER SIDE. ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE WAS INTERMITTENTLY AFFECTED. TAPPING NOISE WOULD GET LOUDER AT IDLE AND VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE INCREASINGLY MISFIRING AT TIMES. THIS ISSUE AFFECTED DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IN HEAVY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. THE DIAGNOSED PROBLEM: CYLINDER 3 MISSFIRE/SEIZED LIFTER ROLLER, ULTIMATELY LEADING TO CAMSHAFT DAMAGE. AFTER REVIEW/INTERNET SEARCHING, APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN 5.7L HEMI ENGINES AND ATTRIBUTED TO EXCESSIVE IDLING. I NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH MY HEMI UNTIL MOVING TO VIRGINIA AND SUBSEQUENTLY SITTING IN TRAFFIC FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME ON I-95 (EXCESSIVE IDLING). IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, WHY ARE CONSUMERS NOT MADE AWARE AND MOREOVER, WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM? THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO SPAN ALL MAKES AND MODELS OF VEHICLES THAT USE 5.7L HEMIS, SPECIFICALLY DODGE MANUFACTURED VEHICLES.

TRANSFER CASE SWITCHES FROM AWD TO AWD LOW ON ITS OWN WHICH CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TRANSFER CASE WILL NOT SWITCH TO AWD LOW WHEN BUTTON IS ENGAGED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT ALL THE OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING OF YOUR VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM.
IN THE LAST MONTH INCLUDING TODAY 10/28/2019 THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ABRUPTLY IN MOTION LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES ALL INTERIOR ACCESSORIES LIGHTS AND GAUGES REMAINED ON NO ACCELERATION VEHICLE HAD TO BE STOPPED PUT IN PARK AND RE STARTED AFTERWARDS EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO WARNINGS NOTHING WE WILL BE TRADING IT IN AS WE FEEL IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH OUR CHILDREN
IT GOES INTO 4LOW WITHOUT TURNING THE SWITCH ON. MAKES IT UNSAFE TO TURN SHARP AND FAST. WE REPLACED THE TRANSFER CASE SWITCH AND IT STILL DOES IT.
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE SIMPLY BROKE UPON REGULAR DEPLOYMENT. THE FAILURE HAPPENED ON A LOW GRADE HILL, NOT A STEEP HILL. THE DEALERSHIP, KING'S DODGE, CINCINNATI, REPORTED THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS WEATHER CORROSION TO THE COMPONENTS. THE ESTIMATE TO REPAIR IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. I'VE NEVER HAD AN EMERGENCY BRAKE FAIL ON ANY OF MY PREVIOUS DODGE VEHICLES.
MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF DURING TURNS AND WHEN SLOWING TO COME TO A STOP. IT IS FRIGHTENING. I'VE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER WHO TELLS ME THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING WITH MY MAKE AND MODEL YET I HAVE READ SIMILAR CONCERNS AS MINE ON THE INTERNET WHEN I STARTED RESEARCHING IT. IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS BEFORE IT COSTS ME MY LIFE? IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY BUT ONCE IS TOO MUCH.
TRANSMISSION COOLER IS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID EVERYWHERE AND THE TRUCK LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV AND THE TRUCK JUST SLOWED TO A STOP WITH SEMI TRUCKS FLYING PAST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY

THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT AND CRUISE CONTROL WARNING WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACTED STATED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM OPERATED AS INTENDED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE 4WD MESSAGE STARTING DISPLAYING ON MY DASHBOARD, THE AWD/LO NEUTRAL LIGHT WAS ON, I TRIED FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL TO TURN IT OFF, BUT IT DID NOT WORK. WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY I TRIED AGAIN TO GET THE MESSAGE TO SHUT OFF BY FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS THEN MY CAR BEGAN TO GO IN REVERSE, MY BREAKS WOULD NOT WORK, AND I HAD TO PUT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON. EVEN WITH THE CAR SHUT OFF THE CAR WILL ROLL, I HAVE KEPT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON AND WAITING FOR A MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE DURANGO'S AND DODGE HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECALL THESE FAULTY SWITCHES. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AS I COULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF MY VEHICLE WHEN IT STARTED TO ROLL CAUSING DANGER FOR ANYONE AROUND.
MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST TWO TIMES IT HAPPENED EXITING THE SAME EXIT ON A RIGHT SHARP TURN AT THE SAME PART OF THE TURN. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND I HAD TO FORCE ALL MY WEIGHT TO TURN IT AND PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER AVOIDING GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND AND THE SIDE. DODGE DEALER CLAIMED NOTHING WAS WRONG BUT WANTED TO KEEP CAR TO INVESTIGATE. I FILED A COMPLAINT AND OPENED A CASE NUMBER WITH CHRYSLER CORPORATION. THERE WAS A RECALL WITH FIRST OWNER FOR THIS HAPPENING AND IT WAS SUPPOSIVELY FIXED, I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM WAS NOT ENTIRELY FIXED. I AVOIDED THAT EXIT THINKING I TEMPORARILY TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THIRD TIME MY ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING WAS ON A LEFT HAND TURN. NO ONE WAS BEHIND US SO WE AVOIDED BEING REAR ENDED. CAR WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND MANUALLY RESTARTED. I CALLED CHRYSLER AGAIN USING SAME CASE NUMBER FROM BEFORE BUT I WAS TOLD THERES NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. 4TH AND 5TH TIME MY ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING HAPPENED TODAY , FIRST WAS AT A STOP IN TRAFFIC, NO TURN. I PRESS GAS AND REALIZED MY ENGINE WAS OFF WHILE ELECTRICAL STAYS ON, SO MY AIR CONDITIONER AND RADIO WEREN'T EFFECTED. AND LAST I TURNED RIGHT INTO A DRIVE WAY AT WORK, ENGINE TURNED OFF, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I HAD TO PLACE IN PARK AND RESTART MY CAR. THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIX. THE FIRST TWO TIMES HAPPENED ON A FREEWAY EXIT. I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY NEXT TIME. THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR THAT MY CHILDREN RIDE IN AND CHRYSLER DOESNT WANT TO HELP WITH PROBLEM. I DON'T MIND PITCHING IN TO HELP PROBLEM. I TRIED TRADING IN TO DODGE BUT DIDNT HAVE DOWN PAYMENT FOR NEW ONE.
PERIODICALLY NO START WHICH LEAVES ME STRANDED VERY FAR FROM HOME WHEN TRAVELING FOR SP. MED. CARE. THIS SUMMER I WAS CROSSING AN OVERPASS TO ENTER THE ON-RAMP TO MAJOR INTERSTATE WHICH MAKES ME CROSS IN FRONT OF 4 LANES ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND MY CAR JUST DIED!! I WAS HEADED DIRECTLY FOR THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH MY FAMILY ONBOARD. I WAS STRANDED IN 100+ DEGREE WEATHER BEING DISABLED WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME NOW WITH 2 TEENS NEEDING DRIVING HRS FOR PERMIT I'M TERRIFIED TO ALLOW THEM TO DRIVE MY ONLY CAR. DODGE YOU NEED TO RECALL MY ENTIRE CAR AND REPLACE THIS WITH SOMETHING SAFE FOR MY FAMILY!

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE WAS SWERVING FROM LANE TO LANE TO IGNORE FROM HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE HOWEVER, CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING LOT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND, LOST POWER AND IT STARTED SLOWING DOWN. I GOT IN THE RIGHT LANE AND COASTED TO SIDE OF ROAD. I CUT ENGINE OFF AND THAT WAS IT. I TRIED TO RE START AND IT JUST KEPT TURNING OVER. IT IT ONLY HAVE 61,522 MILES ON IT. MANCANIC CAME OUT AND SAID IT'S THE FUEL PUMP.
THE ACTUATORS FOR THE AIR CONDITION GOING OUT.
MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO HAS TROUBLE STARTING ON THE FIRST START. MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS A BULLETIN REGARDING THE ISSUE AND INFORMED ME THAT WE SHOULD TRY UPDATING THE SOFTWARE. THAT DID NOT WORK. DURANGO CONTINUES TO SPUTTER WHEN IT IS STARTED. IT EVENTUALLY DOES START EITHER ON ITS OWN OR AFTER ANOTHER TRY. WILL ATTEMPT ANOTHER SOLUTION AT NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED SERVICE.

MY DURANGO HIT 130K MILES AND THE RPM WHERE GETTING TO ALMOST 5K BEFORE SHIFTING AND THIS WOULD HAPPEN ON FREEWAY AND IN TOWN . THEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON A P306 CODE IS WHAT IT WAS GIVING ME . THAT'S A CYLINDER NUMBER 6 MISFIRE SO I HAD ALL PLUGS AN NEW COIL ON CYLINDER 6 AND PUT BRAND NEW INJECTORS IN AND IT RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT 5K MILES AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN SAME P306 . I'VE REPLACED PLUGS AGAIN AND SAME PROBLEM . MY DURANGO IS A 3.6 I'VE READ A LOT ON THIS AND WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS ONE THAT HAS DEFECTIVE L HEAD ? I'VE PUT SO MUCH MONEY IN THIS SUV IDK WHAT ELSE IT IS I CANT DRIVE IT FOR TO LONG BEFORE ITS STARTS THE MISFIRE AGAIN .
VEHICLE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. TWO MILES LATER SHUT OFF WITH NO CONTROL OVER STEERING OR BRAKING. VEHICLE HAD A FAULTY ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS NOT COVERED BY THE T36 RECALL. ALTERNATOR OVERHEATED, RUINED THE BATTERY AND PCM. THE ALTERNATOR WAS SENDING REVERSE POLARITY WHEN TRYING TO JUMP START. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE MODEL YEARS. IT SHOULD BE COVERED IN RECALL AND ISN'T. THIS PART HAS RUINED MY WHOLE MONTHLY BUDGET AND IS CHRYSLER'S FAULT.
THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. BEFORE I WAS AT A PLACE TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY (TWO MILES) THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. SO THERE I SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK. THE 220 AMP ALTERNATOR HAD THE FAULTY DIODE LIKE THE ONES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. THE DIODE FAILED AND CAUSED A DEAD SHORT. THE ALTERNATOR SHORT RUINED THE BATTERY AND THE PCM. THIS IS THE T36 RECALL TO A 'T' BUT DODGE SAYS MY VIN NUMBER SHOWS IT'S NOT RECALLED. THE PARTS AND LABOR WERE 1411.88. THAT'S NOT INCLUDING THE TOW SERVICE BILL OR THE RENTAL CAR THAT I HAD TO USE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT CHRYSLER IS BEING ALLOWED TO RIP PEOPLE OFF KNOWING FULL WELL ITS THEIR WORTHLESS PARTS AT THE ROOT OF IT ALL. NO GOVERNMENT AGENCY SHOULD SIT BY AND BE A SPECTATOR AS CHRYSLER ROBS THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AT OVER 1000 EACH. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKE AND QUIT STICKING IT TO THE PEOPLE WHO WERE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO BUY THIS GARBAGE.
OIL FILTER ADAPTOR HOUSING RECALL - WHEN I TOOK THIS TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC HE STATES THIS HAS BEEN ON BACK ORDER FOR 6 MONTHS. PER THE INTERNET THIS AFFECT MODELS FROM 2011 TO 2019. THIS IS CAUSING AN OIL LEAK. THIS CAN CAUSE THE WHOLE ENGINE TO SEIZE AND IS CAUSING OIL TO LEAK INTO THE EXHAUST.
HAD THE FUEL PRESSURE RELAY RECALL REPLACED. IS NOT HAVING STARTING ISSUES AGAIN. ALL INDICATIONS ARE THE TICM AND IN MY RESEARCH THIS IS A NATIONWIDE ISSUE. CAR WILL SPIN AND NOT START OR START, RUN POORLY AND DIE.

BATTERY IS BRAND NEW HAS BEEN TESTED ALTERNATOR TEST GOOD. MECHANIC SUGGESTED COMPUTER PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD DODGE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO.
