THE BRAKE HAD WORE OUT EVERY 20,000 MILES, EVEN WHEN FIX WEAR OUT AGAIN AND AGAIN. *BF THE DEALER REPLACED PAD/SHOES AND THE CONSUMER DETECTED NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKING SYSTEM. *SC THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THERE WAS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE ROTORS. *JB
MY 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SPORT HAS A NON-FUNCTIONING AIR BAG SYSTEM DUE TO A FAULTY CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY. I ALSO OWN A 2000 CARAVAN THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR A FAULTY AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING ASS'Y. MY NEIGHBOR HAS A 2002 GRAND CARAVAN SPORT THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED. DODGE REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR MY 2001 CAR.*AK
2001 CHRYSLER GRAND CARAVAN SPORT BALL JOINTS WENT BAD.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR *JB
THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS GO OFF BY THEMSELVES. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND NO DEFECTS FOUND. *AK
DURING NORMAL DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED WHICH TEHN RESULTED IN A TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILURE. VEHICLE BECAME UNDRIVEABLE. TRANSMISSION REQUIRED TOTAL BUILD. VEHICLE HAD ONLY 56K MILES AND WAS NEVER USED TO TOW ANYTHING. PER DEALER, CHRYSLER DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND REFUSED TO OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.*AK
THE AIR BAG LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC INFORMED CONSUMER THAT A RECALL WAS NOT FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE RECALL DEALT WITH THE SAME PROBLEM SHE WAS HAVING WITH HER VEHICLE. *TC
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE DIMMER WAS INOPERABLE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE DIMMER SWITCH HAS NOT WORKED FOR 3 MONTHS. THE CONSUMER STATED AT NIGHT SHE CAN NOT SEE HOW FAST SHE IS GOING. *TC
(1) NORMAL USAGE (2) THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT LATCH AND REMAINS OPEN. EVEN AFTER CLOSING BY HAND. A SIDE EFFECT IS THAT IT DOES NOT OPEN WHEN THE CLOSE BUTTON IS PRESSED. (3) TO FIX RIGHT NOW - I HAVE TO STOP THE VAN, GET OUT, AND CLOSE A COUPLE OF TIMES BY HAND. EACH TIME YOU HAVE TO CHECK TO MAKE SURE IT STAYS CLOSED. NOW I AM PAYING $320 TO HAVE THE DEALER PUT IN A NEW LATCH AND ELECTRONIC SWITCH. THE DEALER, JOLLY JOHN, HAD TWO OF THESE SAME FAILURES TODAY! A SEVICE DESK PERSON MENTIONED HE HAD A SIMILAR FAILURE. SEEMS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT A COLD PROBLEM, AS OUR VAN IS IN A HEATED GARAGE AND IT OCCURS ANYTIME SINCE OCTOBER.
WHILE DRIVING AND STEERING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT. RECALL 01V152000 WAS ON THE INTERNET. CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. CONSUMER DROVE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS RECALL NOTICE WAS NOT FOR THIS VEHICLE. *AK
A METAL HOSE UNDERNEATH THE VAN RUSTED THROUGH AND EXPLODED. THIS RESULTED IN ALL THE COOLANT LEAKING OUT. THIS CAUSED THE VAN TO IMMEDIATELY OVERHEAT AND STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP PEFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND DISCOVERED THE HOSE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *JB *SC
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON, THEY WILL, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, SHUT OFF. HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF SPEED I AM DRIVING OR ROAD CONDITIONS. THESE OUTTAGES ARE INTERMITTANT AND THERE IS NO PATTERN TO WHEN THEY WILL OCCUR. LOSING HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT ON DARK COUNTRY ROADS IN MY AREA IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO SAID THERE WAS A "FATAL ERROR" SHOWING ON A COMPUTER MODULE. SPENT $600 TO REPLACE COMPUTER MODULE AND THE PROBLEM STILL RECURRED. VEHICLE IS NOW AT DEALER WAITING FOR A BACKORDERED HEADLIGHT SWITCH. DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHEN THE SWITCH WILL COME IN. THEY ORDERED THE SAME SWITCH FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE 2 MONTHS AGO AND IT STILL HAS NOT COME IN. *AK
THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING, DUE TO LOST OF COOLANT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER FOUND TWO METAL LINES, ONE LINE WAS LEADING TO THE A/C AND THE OTHER LINE TO THE HEATER. BOTH WERE CORRODED THROUGH. *JB
WHEN HITTING A BUMP AT ANY SPEED, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK *SC
AFTER THE CONSUMER STARTED THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE WARNING LIGHT STAYED LIT UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. *JB THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS INTERMITTENT. *SC
CONSUMER STATED THAT THE STEEL TUBE THAT RUNS TO THE WATER PUMP RUSTED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT, EVENTUALLY LOSING FLUIDS. VEHICLE FINALLY SHUT DOWN. *AK
SINCE 8/25/04 30153 MILES I HAVE HAD LIGHT SWITCH PROBLEMS. FIRST IT WAS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS THAT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME. DEALER SAID SWITCH WAS WORKING NORMAL.(IT WAS LIKE AN OLD RADIO VOLUME SWITCH THAT MADE NOISE, IF YOU KEPT MOVING THE SWITCH IT WOULD BET BETTER FOR A WHILE AND THEN START UP AGAIN)THEN 2/14/06 41931 MILES MY HEADLIGHTS STARTED TO FLICKER WHEN I HAD THE LIGHTS ON (THE HEADLIGHT AND DIMMER ARE ALL IN ONE UNIT) AND THE DEALER DID TSB 08-005-04 (WHICH DOESN'T EVEN APPLY TO MY VEHICLE) AND CHARGED ME $41.50. FINALLY ON 9/7/06 46022 MILES IT STARTED AGAIN AND I DROVE RIGHT DOWN SO THE DEALER COULD ACTUALLY SEE IT WHILE IT HAPPENED AND THEY DID WITNESS THE PROBLEM AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT. OF COURSE THE TECH. THAT WITNESSED IT WAS ON VACATION WHEN IT WENT IN FOR THE APPT. AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AGAIN, AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED THE SWITCH AND CHARGED ME $100 FOR MY DEDUCTIBLE WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER MY REGULAR WARRANTY IF THEY FIXED IT RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE BACK IN 2004 OR EVEN IN 2006 THE 2ND TIME IT WAS IN AND ALSO PAID THE $100 FOR OTHER WARRANTY WORK. *NM
DODGE 2001 GRAND CARAVAN IR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYED ON. HAD TO HAVE THE CLOCKSPRING REPLACED AS IT HAD FAILED. THIS WAS A RECALL ITEM ON 1996-1999 CHRYSLER PRODUCTS MADE IN CANADA AS WAS MY VEHICLE. *AK
EQUIPMENT FAILURE - 50,000 MILES - ALL COOLANT STEEL PIPING IN VEHICLE RUSTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. STAINLESS LINES FROM REAR HEATER OK BUT ALL OTHER LINES RUSTING. BLISTERS ON PIPING AND LINES UNDER PASSENGER SEAT RUSTED THROUGH AND LEAKING. HAD TO REPLACE ALL STEEL LINES WITH RUBBER HOSE. STEEL LINES NOT REPLACEABLE WITHOUT REMOVAL OF ENGINE. *JB
LEFT HEADLIGHT WORKED ON LOW, RIGHT HEADLIGHT WORKED ON HIGH. THEY DID NOT WORK TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME. OUR DEALER REPLACED THE FCM AND MADE SEVERAL OTHER ATTEMPTS. THEN THEY INSTALLED "OP PDC FOR HEADLIGHT PROBLEM THAT WA S LISTED ON THE WORKORDER UNDER LABOR. UNDER PARTS IT SAID FP NUMBER 55102969-AB BLOCK NON 8015009" THERE WAS A FORUM THAT INDICATED THISWAS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. TURNING LEFT IN MY 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, WHEN I COULD GET IT TO TURN IT WOULD MAKE A LOUD NOISE. WE HAD TO HAVE THE RACK & PINION STEERING REPLACED AT LESS THAN 50,000 MILES.*AK
PROBLEM IS PASSENGER SIDE POWER DOOR. POWER WORKS, BUT DOES NOT RELEASE FROM MOTOR WHEN YOU USE IT MANUALLY. DEALER SAYS OUT OF WARRANTY, REPAIR COST $300-$350. ((38,000 MILES). WHEN DOOR CLOSES BY POWER NOW, NEEDS STRENGTH TO FIGHT POWER OF MOTOR. WHAT HAPPENS IF A CHILD GETS CAUGHT IN POWER DOOR CLOSING?*AK
CONSUMER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS MENTIONED IN NHTSA RECALL 02V293000. CERTAIN MINI VANS, THE CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLY MAY HAVE BEEN WOUNDED INCORRECTLY DURING VEHICLE ASSEMBLY PROCESS. THE DEALER INDICATED THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK *NM
RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT MY 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN HAS A BAD CLOCK SPRING. WITHOUT REPLACING THE CLOCK SPRING THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE NOT YET REPLACED THE SPRING SO COST ARE UNKNOWN. *NM
2001 DODGE CARAVAN WITH 49000 HAS A CRACKED FRAME. I HAVE NEVER HAD A COLLISION IN THIS VEHICLE. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED BY DODGE SINCE BOUGHT IN DEC 2001. DODGE REFERRED ME TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP FOR REPAIR, AND SAID IF REPAIRS WERE EXPENSIVE TO TURN THE CAR OVER TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I EMAILED DODGE AND THEY REPLIED THAT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS OVER 3YRS OLD OR 36,000 MILES I AM NOT COVERED.*AK
THE REGULATOR ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS ARE FAULTY. MY VAN WAS BUILT IN CANADA AND IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON TRAIT OF THOSE VEHICLES. THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURIES. I WENT TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND HAD THE PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACED ONCE ALREADY. NOW BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVERS WINDOW ARE ACTING UP AGAIN. I HOPE I CAN GET SOME HELP. *NM
WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE UPPER POWER STEERING COOLER HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK *TT *SB
STARTED 2001 GRAND CARAVAN EX AFTER SHOPPING RUN,ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL CHECK LIGHTS REMAINED ON. PULLED OVER TWICE AND RESTARTED,SAME LIGHTS STAYED ON. VEHICLE HAD 26,078 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS OCCURRED. CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL,O.K. LUCKILY FOR OUR FAMILY,THE VEHICLE STILL HAD ENOUGH BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE,THOUGH COMPROMISED (SQUISHY,NOT FIRM, SECURE AND CONTROLLED AS IT WAS PRIOR TO THE OCCURRENCE), AND THE BRAKES COULD STILL BE USED TO STOP VEHICLE. CHECK THE VEHICLE AGAIN AFTER A FEW HOURS(CHECKED BRAKE FLUID AGAIN, ABS FUSE CHECKED-OUT O.K.,STARTED VEHICLE)NO CHANGE. NO CHANGE THE NEXT DAY. *LA
THE RELEASE BUCKLES ON THE 2ND AND 3RD ROW SEATS OF 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN ARE ABOVE THE BUCKLE AND CAN UNLATCH THE SEAT BELT BY OCCUPANTS ARMS OR OBJECTS IN THE SEAT IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ON ALL MODELS WITH THESE GEN3 CHRYSLER BELT BUCKLES. THE MINIVANS USUALLY CARRY CHILDREN WHO ARE ALL AT RISK. THE 2004 AND 2005 MODELS OF THE DODGE AND CHRYSLER MINIVANS NOW HAVE THE GEN4 BELT BUCKLES WITH THE RECESSED RELEASE BUCKLES IN THE 2ND AND 3RD ROW SEATS.*AK
I HEARD A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM TRANSMISSION, WITHOUT WARNING THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY WENT OUT. I ONLY HAVE 38K MILES ON MY VAN. THE BRAKES WENT OUT AT 20K MILES AND THEY ALREADY NEED REPLACED. THE WINDOWS STICK INTERMITTENTLY, AND WON'T ROLL UP. *AK
I OWN A 2001 GRAND CARAVAN SPORT. AT 35,000 MILES I BROUGHT IT TO A DEALER FOR THE 30,000 MILE CHECK AND TO SERVICE A GRINDING NOISE IN THE AC UNIT AND A SHUDDER WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THEY FIXED THE AC AND SHUDDER BY TRUING THE ROTORS AND NEW PADS, HOWEVER THEY ALSO SAID THERE WAS A BULLETIN OUT ON THE STEERING PUMP AND THE UNIT WAS ON BACK ORDER...WOULD CALL WHEN IT CAME IN...YEAH RIGHT. AFTER AN ATTEMPT ON MY PART 3 MONTHS LATER TO LOCATE THIS PUMP, I GAVE UP TRYING AND CONTINUED DRIVING. AT 54,000 MILES, I AGAING BROUGHT IN MY CAR BECAUSE THE AC COMPRESSOR FAILED DUE TO ANOTHER BULLETIN ON THE PCM UNIT. I INQUIRED ABOUT FIXING THE OLD PROBLEM WITH THE PUMP AND THEY ADMITTED THEY MADE A MISTAKE BY NOT ORDERING THE PUMP OR CONTACTING ME BUT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE REPAIR BECAUES IT WAS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT...EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY ADMIT TO THEIR MISTAKE!!! NEVER AGAIN FOR DODGE...IN FACT, WE ARE SELLING IT TO BUY A HONDA.*AK
CLOCK SPRING FAILURE. AIRBAG LIGHT CONSTANTLY GOING OFF AND ON. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER-STATED THAT NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE, BUT THERE WERE SOME RECALLS FOR THAT YEAR AND MODEL, BUT MINE WAS NOT MANUFACTURED DURING THAT TIME FRAME. (???) TOLD THAT THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT WORK WHEN LIGHT WAS ON. RECALL NEEDED!!!!*AK
1. NO EVENTS OR LIGHTS LEADING UP TO THE CRASH. ( LIGHTS, ERROR MESSAGE FOR AIR BAG, ETC. ) 2. SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG - DID NOT GO OFF. I WAS IN A SIDE IMPACT CAR CRASH AT SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR ON OUR DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. 3. OVER $6,000.00 WORTH OF WORK DONE ON VEHICLE. NOTHING WAS DONE TO COORECT OR EVEN LOOK INTO WHY THE AIRBAG DIDN'T GO OFF. GOT RUN AROUND FROM THE DEALERSHIP, CHRYSLER CORPORATE OFFICE ALSO THE AUTO BODY SHOP THAT FIXED OUR VEHICLE. I WAS REFERRED TO THE AUTO SHOP BY MY "REPUTABLE" CAR INSURANCE COMPANY STATE FARM.*AK
VEHICLE HAS 37000 MILES AND HAS HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED (25000 MILES) / NEW DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW MOTOR ASSY. INSTALLED (NOT UNDER WARRANTY @ COST OF $210 +) / FRONT SWAY BAR REPAIRED (NOT UNDER WARRANY EITHER) AND NOW THE AIR CONDITIONONG IS NOT WORKING.....DEALER SAYS IT WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE SYSTEM...ESTIMATE IS FOR $1,284 PLUS TAX!!!) ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE DODGE GRAN CARAVAN PRODUCT. THIS IS A $30K VEHICLE. IT SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE KIND OF ISSUES W/ ONLY 37000 HIGHWAY MILES.*AK
1. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS, ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC IT WASN'T GOING BAD IT JUST WENT. 2. I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPED MOVING. I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AND INSTEAD OF GETTING OUT AND GOING I GOT OUT AND ALMOST GOT HIT. THE CAR COMING TOWARDS ME SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS AND WAS ABLE TO SWERVE AROUND ME. 3. THE REAR PLANITARY GEAR WELD FAILED, THIS FAILURE WAS DESCRIBED AS A SUDDEN CATASTROPHIC FAILOR. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE PUT INTO PARK. IT WAS TOWED INTO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THE FLUID WAS BAD AND THE FILTER CLOGGED. THE VEHICLE HAS 55,000 MILES THEY SAY THE 7/70 WARRENTY DIDNT APPLY TO MY MODEL. THE SECOND MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FILTER OR THE FLUID THAT THEY HAVE TO REPLACE A LOT OF THESE PART THE WELDS FAIL ALOT. I CALLED DIAMLER/CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM WHAT THE MECHANIC SAID THAT I WANTED TO SEND THEM BACK THE PART THAT SHOWED THAT THE FAILURE WAS MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT DIDN'T MATTER THAT IT WHY IT FAILED JUST THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE THE PART. I WAS LUCKY THE NEXT PERSON MAY NOT BE. THE VEHICLE IS 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SPORT. SO FAR THE HATCH DOESN'T WORK WHEN THIS PART FAILED I WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THE WHEEL CYLINDER ON THE REAR BRAKES FAILED AND THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED FIRE TO THE VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP WANTED 4.000 PLUS TAX TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. THE ENTIRE REAR BRAKING SYSTEM HAD TO BE REDONE AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REBUILT. I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO DEAL WITH FIXING THE HATCH SO IT OPENS.*AK
AIR BAG LIGHT WILL LIGHT UP WHEN DRIVING. HAD VEHICLE SERVICED AND CLOCKSPRING WAS REPLACED. THIS ITEM HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MY OTHER VEHICLE SAME MAKE AND YEAR DIFFERENT MODEL. WONDERING WHY IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS VEHICLE AS WELL.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH TRANSMISSION FAILED. VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD, MADE A LOUD NOISE, AND THEN IT WAS HARD TO SHIFT GEARS. *AK
BUSHINGS ON RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILED. PROBLEM WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY PRICE DODGE IN NEW CASTLE, DE, IN NOV '03, NECESSITATING REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION IN FEB '04.
DRIVING AROUND A CURVE AT 35 MPH THE CAR WOULD NOT STRAIGHTEN OUT AND INSTEAD BEGAN FISHTAILING AND SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL. CAR RAN OFF THE ROAD UP AN INCLINE WHERE IT CAME TO REST. RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS PERPENDICULAR TO CAR WITH TIRE HANGING OFF OF RIM. WE LATER LEARNED THAT THE RIGHT CONTROL ARM HAD SNAPPED. MANUFACTURER CLAIMS I MUST HAVE HIT A VERY DEEP POTHOLE, BUT WE ARE UNAWARE OF ANY SUCH OCCURRENCE. NO DEEP POTHOLES EXISTED ON AREA OF ROAD WHERE CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL. ALSO, THE TIRE RIM WAS NOT DAMAGED. *JB
IAM THE OWNER OF A 2001 GRAND CARAVAN SPORT AND FROM DAY ONE THE POWER WINDOWS DRIVER AND PASSENGER ACTING UP.THEY WILL GO DOWN BUT I CANNOT BRING THEM UP AGAIN IMMEDIATELY,I'LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR A WHILE AND THEN COME UP A FEW INCHES , AND WAIT AGAIN, IT TAKES 5 MINUTES TO ROLL UP A POWER WINDOW.THE FIRST TIME CHRYSLER REPAIR THE SOLENOIDS UNDER WARRANTY, A YEAR LATER THE SAME WINDOWS START ACTING UP AGAIN TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE TO PULL THE WINDOW UP WITH MY HANDS AND SOMEBODY ELSE PUSHING THE BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME, A PROCESS THAT TAKES AT LEAST 10 MINUTES, SO MUCH FOR THE OPTION OF POWER WINDOWS .I CONTACT CHRYSLER ABOUT THE WINDOWS AND THE RESPONSE WAS IT'S NOT COVERED ANY MORE UNDER THEIR WARRANTY.A CAR COMPANY AS BIG AS CHRYSLER-BENZ ARE, IF THEY CANNOT MAKE POWER WINDOWS THAT WILL WORK , THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO OFFERED AS AN OPTION.*AK

THE ANGLE OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO BLOCKER ON THE UNDERNEATH TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURING MADE THIS AN EXPENSIVE ORDEAL. I OWN A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SPORT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER WINDOWS ON BOTH THE DRIVERSIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE WINDOWS WILL INTERMITTENLY WORK. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PAID 210.72 JUST FOR THE REPAIR OF DRIVERSIDE. THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE PART IN STOCK FOR THE PASSENGERSIDE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY REPLACED THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE PASSENGERSIDE REGULATOR TO COME IN SO THAT TOO CAN BE REPLACED. DODGE GC 2001 STALLED WHILE IN MOTION WITH NO WARNING DURING A VERY HEAVILY TRAVELED AREA IN A SCHOOL ZONE WITH MANY POTENTIAL HAZARDS. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 10 MPHS AND COMING TO A STOP. I INTERRUPTED FLOW OF TRAFFIC AT TIME OF FAILURE AND WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME. A POLICE OFFICER HELPED DIRECT TRAFFIC. MECHANIC SAID LEAK DETECTION PUMP WENT OUT WHICH CAUSED THE PCM (POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE) TO SHORT OUT. THIS PCM CONTROLS MANY ELECTRICAL ELEMENTS. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, THE SPEEDOMETER AND PASSENGER WINDOW DOESNT WORK AND I AM TOLD THAT SEVERAL SYSTEMS COULD FAIL BUT IT IS DRIVEABLE. I HAVE SEARCHED MANY DEALERSHIPS IN MANY STATES WITH ALL THE SAME ANSWER. THE PART I NEED, THE PCM, IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THERE ARE NONE AVAILABLE IN THE US. THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE TO TRANSPORT MY CHILDREN. I CONTACTED DC CORP AND THEY WILL NOT TELL ME IF IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE W/ A FAULTY PCM. IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND MY VAN IS NOT FIXED. I AM AT THEIR MERCY AND THEY HAVE DENIED RESPONSIBILITY AS WELL AS A RENTAL REQUEST UNTIL MY VAN CAN BE FIXED PROPERLY. "UNFORTUNATELY, YOUR REQUEST FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE HAS BEEN DECLINED." THEY CLAIM "WE ARE UNABLE TO BE OF ASSISTANCE IN EXPEDITING PARTS THAT ARE NOT ON ORDER" THE PART HAS BEEN ORDERED. AGAIN I QUESTIONED THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY PCM WITH NO ANSWER AS OF YET. THEIR ARE OVER 250 PCM'S ON BACK ORDER.*AK
BRAKES PULSE WHEN STOPPING, ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE AT LOWER SPEEDS. VAN MILEAGE IS ABOUT 22,000 MILES. FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM AT ABOUT 8000-10,000 MILES, AND IT HAS STEADILY GOTTEN WORSE. IT IS QUITE PROMINENT NOW. PRESUMABLY THE ROTORS ARE WARPED. THE (ORIGINAL) BRAKE PADS ARE STILL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. WE ARE VERY CONSERVATIVE DRIVERS AND RARELY MAKE FAST STOPS. DEALER SAYS BRAKES ARE WARRANTEED FOR ONLY A YEAR. APPARENTLY, SO ARE THE ROTORS. THE INCIDENT DATE IS THE DATE I POSTED THIS NOTICE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. WE DIDN'T NOTICE IT MUCH AT FIRST, BUT IT IS NOW PRONOUNCED ENOUGH ONE CANNOT MISS IT. *AK
WHEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT MY SONS SEAT BELT UNLATCHED CAUSING HIM TO BE THROWN FOWARD, LUCKLY HE SURVIVED THE ACCIDENT WITH ONLY BUMBS, CUTS AND BRUISES. THE REPAIR SHOP TOLD ME THE BELT SEAMED FINE, BUT I HAVE BEEN BOTHERED BY THIS EVER SINCE AND DID MY OWN RESEARCH TO DISCOVER THAT THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM AND THEY NO LONGER USE THIS TYPE OF BUCKLE. CRYSLER REFUSED TO CHANGE MY BUCKLES TO THE NEW KIND AND I FEAR IF IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT IT COULD BE FATAL.*AK
