THE LEFT SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING IN JUNE 2013 BY ONLY OPENING ABOUT 3 INCHES AND STOPPING, THEN LATER STARTED NOT UNLOCKING AUTOMATICALLY. YOU THEN HAD TO EITHER PULL THE DOOR OPEN OR PULL IT SHUT. IN JULY OF 2014 THE RIGHT SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING AND UNLOCKING AUTOMATICALLY. WE ACTUALLY STARTED HAVING PROBLEM WITH IT SHORTLY AFTER WE BOUGHT IT IN APRIL 2005. IF YOU HAD IT OPEN, IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY NOT CLOSE AT ALL EVEN MANUALLY UNTIL YOU PULLED ON IT FOR A WHILE. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. NOW, BOTH HAVE TO BE MANUALLY UNLOCKED AND ON OCCASION THE RIGHT SIDE WILL OPEN AUTOMATICALLY AFTER YOU MANUALLY UNLOCK IT. NEITHER OF THE REAR SLIDING DOORS LOCK OR UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY WITH THE BUTTON ON THE HEADLINER, THE AUTOMATIC BUTTON ON THE DOOR, OR WITH THE KEY. THE LEFT DOOR DOES NOT EVEN WANT TO OPEN MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE. THIS GETS SCARY WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY SEAT ON THE OTHER SIDE AND OTHERS HAVE LEFT THE VEHICLE BEFORE YOU AND YOU HAVE NO ONE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND ARE UNABLE TO CLIMB OVER THE FRONT SEATS DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VAN WE WERE SHOWN AT THE DEALER HOW THE DOORS WOULD STOP IF THERE WAS A HAND, FOOT, OR SOMETHING IN THE DOORWAY TO AVOID INJURY, SO COULD THE MECHANICALS THAT WORK THIS BE AT FAULT?? WE NEVER WANTED TO TRY THIS TO SEE, BUT THIS IS ABOUT WHERE THE DOOR STOPS WORKING ON THE LEFT SIDE. I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE DOORS NOT WORKING. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS WHY THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER. TO BE HONEST WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THIS VAN SINCE WE BOUGHT IT AND SPOKE TO LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS. WE FEEL THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE VEHICLE IT WOULD SPUTTER OR STALL. SOMETIMES WHILE IN TRAFFIC! IT DOESN'T OCCUR EVERY TIME AFTER FILL UP BUT HAS DONE IT MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE FOR ALMOST A YEAR. *TR
MY DAUGHTER 8 CAN NOT OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS IN THE BACK BECAUSE THE BUTTON IS TO HARD TO PUSH ALSO ON ONE SIDE YOU CAN NOT OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE AND I THINK THIS SHOULD BE CHECKED ON IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A LOUD NOISE EMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. UPON COMPLETING A TURN, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO WOBBLE VIOLENTLY AS THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE SLIGHTLY COLLAPSED TO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FRONT AXLE WAS FRACTURED AND THE FRAME WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED. THE AXLE WAS REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND WHENEVER DEPRESSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER, THE SAME TIME THEY FLICKER THE DASH LIGHTS FOR THE ODOMETER WILL FLICKER AS WELL. I'VE ALSO NOTICED WHEN THIS STARTED THE SMALL LIGHT NEXT TO MY HAZARD BUTTON ON THE DASH FLICKERS AS WELL, EVEN THOUGH NO ONE IS IN THAT SEAT. THIS PROBLEM IS DISTRACTING AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THIS PROBLEM HAS SEEMED TO HAVE GOTTEN WORSE SINCE IT STARTED. I'VE TRIED RUNNING THE VAN WITH AND WITHOUT THE A/C BUT THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. *TR
THE WIPERS WILL STOP WORKING. STOPPED FOR WHILE. STARTED UP THEY STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE .... HAVE HEARD OF THIS BEFORE...
FIRST AND FOREMOST, I SEE 822 PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS (MOST REFER TO THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS) WITH NO SIGN OF ANY INTENT BY THE NHTSA-ODI OR THE MANUFACTURER TO RESPOND AND/OR RECTIFY THIS SITUATION. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS: VEHICLE REPEATEDLY LOSES POWER AND STALLS WHILE DRIVING. POWER DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY FROM BOTH INTERIOR SWITCHES AND THE KEY FOB; WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK ANY OF THE 5 DOORS FROM INTERIOR. MANUALLY ABLE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS INDIVIDUALLY. UNABLE TO LOCK BACK HATCH WITH KEY FOB OR FROM INSIDE VEHICLE THEREFORE, VEHICLE REMAINS UNLOCKED. BOTH POWER SLIDING DOORS AND POWER HATCH STOPPED WORKING. OTHER MECHANICAL PROBLEMS: VEHICLE SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN APPLYING BRAKES DOWNHILL; NEW BRAKE PADS INSTALLED, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. MY NEIGHBORS HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 2005 TOWN AND COUNTRY. BOTTOM LINE: THIS IS A WIDESPREAD SAFETY ISSUE THAT REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ACTION. UNFORTUNATELY, AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE BELOW, IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT ANY OF US WILL EVER SEE A RESPONSE BY THE MANUFACTURER, NHTSA-ODI OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NO INTENT TO ADMIT RESPONSIBILITY AND HELP CONSUMERS RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. WITHOUT ACTION BY THE NHTSA-ODI WE AS CONSUMERS DO NOT STAND A CHANCE IN SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VEHICLE WAS COMPLETING STATE INSPECTION WHEN HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK PINION STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *TR
POWER LOCKS SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING FOR DRIVER & PASSENGER REAR SLIDING DOORS. UNABLE TO REMOTELY LOCK/UNLOCK THOSE DOORS AND HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK EACH DOOR SEPARATELY. IF BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED/RECONNECTED, STILL DOESN'T WORK. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR WITH ANY OF THE REMOTE BUTTONS. PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED BY REPLACING DEFECTIVE RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR. *TR
IN APRIL OF 2013, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK. FOUND THAT THE RIGHT SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THAT THERE WERE "BROKEN WIRES." REPAIRED THE WIRING AND SAID THAT ALL WAS OKAY. I WAS CHARGED OVER $220 FOR THIS REPAIR. THERE WAS A 2007 RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND MY CAR SUPPOSEDLY HAD THE FRONT SENSORS REPLACED AT THAT TIME. THEN, IN JUNE OF 2014, THE SAME AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARED AGAIN. THIS TIME I RESEARCHED RECALLS AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER RECALL IN 2010 FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. AFTER CONTACTING CHRYSLER SERVICES, I WAS TOLD TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY WOULD PERFORM THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT AT NO COST. AFTER THEY PERFORMED THE WORK, WHICH THEY SAID AGAIN WAS A BROKEN WIRE, I WAS CHARGED ANOTHER $200. THEY STATED THAT IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH SENSOR, JUST THE WIRING, AND THEREFORE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. JUST WAITING TO SEE WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING AND DRIVING AT 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AFTER REFUELING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. UPDATED 10/8/14*CN 10/24/14*CN UPDATED 02/03/15*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR COULD NOT BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED AUTOMATICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE DOOR INSPECTED. THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE THE INSPECTION REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,950.
COURTESY LAMP SOCKET MELTED NEEDING REPLACEMENT. MORE RECENTLY, THE RIGHT REAR TURN SIGNAL FAILED. WHEN I REPLACED THE LAMP, I NOTICED THAT BOTH SIDES THE SOCKET ASSEMBLY HAD MELTED. THE REPLACEMENT BULB IS NOT ABLE TO FUNCTION AS THE CONTACTS ARE NOT ABLE TO CONNECT. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
THE BRAIN OF THE VAN HAS GONE BAD IN UNDER 8 YEARS, CAUSING VAN TO READ BAD O2 SENSOR READING EVEN AFTER CHANGING THEM. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STUTTER AND IDLE ROUGH AND DIE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN MAKING REPEATED STOPS SHUTTING DOWN AND TURNING VEHICLE BACK ON, MAKES THE CONDITIONS WORSE. IT'S BEEN NARROWED DOWN TO BRAIN AS AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK AT ALL. WHETHER FROM KEY FOB OR USING SWITCH INSIDE VEHICLE. THIS WAS FAMILY VEHICLE DRIVEN DAILY, BUT REFUSE TO PUT KIDS IN UNSAFE CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000. UPDATED 4/24/13 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVERS DOOR WOULD OPEN WITH THE KEY. HOWEVER, THE POWER DOOR LOCKS AND POWER DOORS WOULD REMAIN INOPERATIVE, UNTIL THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS RESET. THE CONTACT DID NOT CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER OR A DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN ON. THE PARKING LIGHTS WOULD COME ON, BUT NOT THE HEADLAMPS. TURNING THE SWITCH/DIAL TURNED THEM OFF, AND TURNED ON PARKING LIGHTS, BUT NOTHING ELSE. THE SWITCH WOULD TURN ALL THE WAY, BUT NOTHING. THEN THE PARKING LIGHTS WOULDN'T GO OFF AT ALL. THEN I GOT THE HEADLIGHTS TO COME ON AFTER MESSING WITH THE SWITCH FOR A WHILE. THE HEADLIGHTS CAME ON THE NEXT DAY. IT SEEMS TO BE AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM... THERE ARE A LOT OF POSTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ONLINE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. *TR
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS ON THIS 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN JUST STOPPED WORKING. KEY FOB SOUNDS HORN WHEN LOCKING, BUT LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE. VERY DANGEROUS FOR TRAVEL AS LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHEN VEHICLE REACHES 18 MPH. *TR
LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN SWITCH IS TURNED OFF. PARKING LIGHTS STAY ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, TURN THEMSELVES BACK ON WHEN CAR IS UNLOCKED. OCCASIONALLY BLINKS OUT WHEN DRIVING (LESS THAN 1 SECOND BLINK). *TR
POWER LOCKS DO NOT WORK WITH DOOR SWITCHES OR KEY FOB. KEY FOB ONLY UNLOCKS REAR HATCH. ALL OTHER LOCKS MUST BE LOCKED AND UNLOCKED MANUALLY. I HAVE TRIED INTERNET SUGGESTIONS ALL ENDING IN THE SAME RESULTS. AFTER HEARING OF OTHER COMPLAINS ON THIS ISSUE, I HOPE I DON'T GET LOCKED IN AND CANT GET OUT!!! *TR
DOORS WON'T LOCK WITH FOB HAVE TO LOCK THEM EACH BY HAND ALSO AUTOMATIC LOCKING OF ALL DOORS AT APP. 20 MILES AN HOUR DOES NOT WORK EITHER . I READ ABOUT PULLING 20 AMP FUSE OUT THEN PUTTING IT BACK IN IT WORKED . IT LASTED ABOUT 2 WEEKS THEN HAPPENED AGAIN, DID THE SAME THING WITH THE FUSE IT WORKED AGAIN FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS THEN STOPPED WORKING AGAIN, PULLED FUSE AND PUT BACK IN IT WORKED AGAIN FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR ONLY OPENS A FEW INCHES AND THEN STOPS. THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY AT ALL I HEAR ARE LOUD CLICKS LIKE THE LOCKS ARE BEING ENGAGED. THE DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED OR CLOSED MANUALLY. THE PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY TIME EITHER OF THE 2 INSIDE BUTTONS ARE PRESSED OR THE KEY FOB BUTTON IS PRESSED. THE DOORS ARE CLEARLY NOT GEARED FOR MANUAL OPENING/CLOSING, THAT IS, THEY ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPEN OR CLOSE MANUALLY. THIS IS MAJOR A CONCERN AS IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE FOR SOMEONE SITTING IN ANY OF THE REAR SEATS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMOTE KEY FOB WOULD NOT LOCK ANY OF THE DOORS. THE DOORS ALSO COULD NOT BE LOCKED MANUALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 97,000.
PURCHASED VEHICLE USED. ELECTRIC DOORS WOULD NOT WORK. EVEN WITH THE SWITCH THEY WOULD NOT MAKE A SOUND. AFTER READING ON THE INTERNET THAT VIRTUALLY EVERY DODGE OWNER HAS THIS PROBLEM I PULLED THE BCM AND IOD FUSES FOR A FEW SECONDS AND PUT THEM BACK IN. EVERYTHING NOW WORKS BUT MY RESEARCH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THE FIX IS ONLY TEMPORARY. DRIVING THROUGH SOME NEIGHBORHOODS AND NIGHT WITH DOORS UNLOCKED OR CONDITION UNKNOWN IS VERY DANGEROUS. I MUST INSPECT EVERY LOCK BEFORE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE LOCKED. I TRAVEL THE COUNTRY WORKING FOR THE US AIR FORCE AND DOOR LOCKS BECOME A GREAT CONCERN IN SOME AREAS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V008000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 64,000.

POWER LOCKS FAILED, THEY DID NOT WORK WITH THE KEY BUTTONS OR BY PUSHING THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. I TOOK THE IOD FUSE OUT AND PUT IT BACK IN AND IT IS WORKING FOR NOW. *TR
I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS AND THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY TIMES WHEN THE DOOR WILL CLOSE WITHOUT HAVING BEEN TOLD TO. TYPICALLY, THE SENSOR WILL CATCH WHEN THERE IS A HAND OR A CHILD PUSHING IT BACK OPEN, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN OCCASIONS, LIKE TODAY THAT IT STARTED TO OPEN, THEN ABOUT 18 INCHES AFTER IT HAD BEGUN OPENING THAT IT REVERSES AND CLOSES AND DOES NOT HAVE THE SENSOR KICK IN. TODAY THE DOOR SLAMMED INTO MY LEFT SHOULDER. I HAD TO USE ALL MY STRENGTH TO PUSH IT OFF MY SHOULDER AND TO OVERRIDE THE MOTOR TO GET IT TO OPEN. I AM SO GRATEFUL MY 2 YEAR OLD WAS STILL ON THE SHIPPING CART BECAUSE THAT WOULD HAVE CRUSHED HIS HAND IF HE WASN'T ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. MOST TIMES IT IS THE PASSENGER SIDE SIDING DOOR THAT DOES THIS. LAST WEEK WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR DID THE SAME THING, WHICH PINNED MY WRIST BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE FRAME, AND TRIED TO CLOSE ON IT TWICE. I AM PERSONALLY AFRAID THAT ONE OF THESE TIMES THE DOOR IS GOING TO FORCEFULLY CLOSE AND CAUSE SOME SEVERE DAMAGE TO ONE OF MY CHILDREN. *TR
I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. TURNED ON HEADLIGHTS AND THEY WOULD NOT COME ON. PLAYED WITH SWITCH AND THEY FLASHED ON. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THEY WENT OUT AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND PLAY WITH THE SWITCH TO GET THEM TO COME BACK ON. THEY ARE NOW, 2 WEEKS LATER, AT THE POINT THAT I CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. FUEL PUMP DEVELOPED HAIRLINE CRACKS ALLOWING FUEL TO SEEP FROM FUEL TANK ONTO THE OUTSIDE OF THE TANK AND ONTO THE GROUND BELOW THE VEHICLE. THE RESULTING BUILDUP OF FUMES AND LEAKED FUEL POSES A GREAT RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH TO OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO ANY PROPERTY NEAR THE VEHICLE IF COMBUSTION DID OCCUR. *TR
THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT BY THEMSELVES DURING NIGHT HIGHWAY DRIVING AT ~64MPH! THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS I HAD MY WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN IN THE VAN. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND CYCLE THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH 6-10 TIMES TO GET THE HEADLIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE AGAIN. EVEN AFTER THAT, THEY WOULD INTERMITTENTLY GO OUT/COME ON FOR THE DURATION OF OUT TRIP HOME. THIS IS A SERIOUS VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE VAN WAS GOING 65 MPH DOWN THE FREEWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL OF THE ELECTRIC WENT OFF, INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. IF THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY HAZARD, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT IS. I HAVE A FAMILY OF 5 INCLUDING MY HUSBAND AND THIS IS OUR MAIN PORT OF TRANSPORTATION SINCE HE WAS UNEMPLOYED OVER TWO YEARS AGO. WE ARE NOW GETTING BACK ON OUR FEET BUT CANNOT AFFORD TO TRADE THIS VEHICLE IN. BY THE LOOKS OF THE COMPLAINTS, THERE ARE 800 OR SO MORE IN REGARDS TO THE ELECTRIC ISSUE. POWER DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY FROM BOTH INTERIOR SWITCHES AND KEY FOB. WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK ANY OF THE 5 DOORS FROM INTERIOR. MANUALLY ABLE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS INDIVIDUALLY. UNABLE TO LOCK BACK HATCH WITH KEY OR FROM INSIDE VEHICLE. SAFETY PROBLEM WITH 1 AND 3 YEAR OLD THAT NEED TO HAVE DOORS LOCKED WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. ALSO UNSAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN TO BE STANDING OUTSIDE VEHICLE WHILE UNLOCKING DRIVER'S DOOR WITH KEY THEN MANUALLY D/S REAR DOOR. AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. I DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND RECONNECT IT AND IT SEEMS TO CORRECT ITSELF FOR A DAY OR TWO, BUT THEN GOES BACK TO BEING DEFECTIVE AGAIN. I'M AWARE OF SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
AUTO LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING FOR DRIVER, PASSENGER AND 2 REAR SLIDING DOORS. UNABLE TO REMOTELY LOCK/UNLOCK THE CAR AND HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK EACH DOOR SEPARATELY. IF BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED, IT WORKS FOR A FEW DAYS AND STOPS WORKING AGAIN. *TR
AUTO LOCK AND AUTO DOORS OPEN FAILED. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT A YEAR AGO TOO. RESETTING BCM MODULE BY REMOVING BATTERY LEAD FOR A FEW SECONDS FIXED PROBLEM. PROBLEM IS BACK. I CONSIDER THIS UNSAFE SINCE DOORS DO NOT AUTO LOCK ONCE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS SHOULD BE A FREE FIX BUT DEALER CHARGES. I HAVE READ REFRESHING THE COMPUTER FIXES THE PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR HOME AT ONLY 35 MPH, MY WIFE HEARD A LARGE BANG AND IMMEDIATELY LOST THE POWER STEERING, BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO CHECK UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE, I FOUND THAT THE ALUMINUM CASTING HAD BROKEN THAT HOLDS THE BRACKET FOR THE ALTERNATOR. THE ALTERNATOR AND SERPENTINE BELTS WERE LAYING NEAR THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I TOOK PHOTOS OF THE PROBLEM SINCE I KNOW IT IS NOT USUAL FOR THE CASTING TO BREAK. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER THAT WE HAVE HAD ALL THE SERVICE FOR THE VEHICLE PERFORMED. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS CONCERNED THAT THE CASTING BROKE AND THEY SEEMED CONCERNED ALSO AT THAT POINT. THEY STATED THAT THEY HAD NOT SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I HAD THE REPAIRS MADE AT A COST OF OVER $1500.00. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE CVR PKG-ENGINE BECAUSE THE BREAK WAS PART OF THE CASTING FOR THE COVER OF THAT PART. I THEN CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND TOLD THEM I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND THAT IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN GOING 75 ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND ROUNDING A CURVE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, SUCH A BREAK COULD EASILY CAUSE CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE, INJURY, OR DEATH. I TOLD THEM THAT I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OR MAINTENANCE ITEM, BUT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT SINCE THE ALUMINUM CASTING BROKE AND NOT THE BRACKET. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CASE MANAGER ONLY CAME BACK WITH A STATEMENT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD 138000 MILES AND THEY COULD OFFER ME ONLY $465.00 TOWARD THE REPAIRS. THERE WAS NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, OR CONCERN THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE I BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY FOR THE ENTIRE REPAIRS, I AM MORE CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING SITUATION FOR OTHER UNKNOWING DRIVERS. I HAVE THE PICTURES AND I HAVE THE PART IN MY POSSESSION IF ANYONE NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THIS! *TR
OUR DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING WITH BOTH THE UNLOCK BUTTON AND THE REMOTE KEY. WE CANNOT UNLOCK OUR DOORS UNLESS WE DO IT MANUALLY, AND THERE IS NOW NO WAY TO LOCK THE BACK HATCH. THERE IS ONLY ONE KEY HOLE AND THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

POWER DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING. UNABLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK DOORS WITH EITHER KEY REMOTE OR BUTTON LOCATED ON THE DOOR. THIS IS A CONCERN BECAUSE THE LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MODE OF TRAVEL. THIS FIRST STARTED IN AUGUST OF 2012 WITH THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR AND NOW BOTH SLIDING DOOR LOCKS ARE INOPERABLE AS WELL AS THE TRUNK HATCH. HAVE TRIED CHANGING FUSES WITHOUT SUCCESS. I RESEARCHED INFORMATION ONLINE AND FOUND A SITE THAT INDICATED THAT A BCM SOFTWARE UPDATE COULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT DEALERSHIPS CHARGE FOR THE UPDATE. SHOULD THERE BE A FEE INVOLVED WHEN THIS MECHANISM IS SECONDARY TO A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD? BECAUSE SAFETY ISSUES ARE AT HAND SHOULD THIS BE LISTED AS SAFETY RECALL? *TR
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT LOCK/UNLOCK WITH KEY REMOTE OR INTERIOR CONTROL. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FEATURE THAT LOCKS ALL THE DOORS WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES 20MPH. THE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WITH THIS FEATURE EITHER. *TR

THE AIRBAG DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND HAVE NOT SHUT OFF. AFTER RESEARCHING I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ONLY WHEN I CALL I'M TOLD THE SERVICE FOR THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. I EXPLAINED THAT IT HAD NOT, THAT I HAD NEVER TAKEN IT IN FOR THIS BEFORE. HE STATED IT HAD BEEN DONE IN 2007, YET THIS RECALL WASN'T IN EFFECT UNTIL JUNE OF 2010. THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING. WE TRIED THE PULLING OF THE FUSE AND UNHOOKING OF THE BATTERY AND THAT WORKED. NOW A FEW YEARS LATER HERE WE ARE AGAIN. THE ELECTRICAL LOCKS HAVE COMPLETELY QUIT AGAIN 09/2014. THIS VAN HAS HAD ONE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER. OUR ELECTRIC WINDOWS HAVE GONE OUT AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND BEEN REPLACED. WE HAVE FINALLY GIVEN UP REPLACING AND THE PASSENGER WINDOW WON'T GO DOWN. *TR
