HORNS BLARING , WIPERS GOING, WASHER FLUID SQUIRTING REAR WIPER MOVING AND WASHER FLUID SPRAYING. CAR JUST CAME BACK AFTER FOUR WEEKS AT DEALER THAT COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM, WITH CHRYSLERS STAR ASSISTANCE THE CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE REPLACED THE IGNITION MODULE AND TWO KEY FOBS. DID NOT FIX ORIGINAL PROBLEM. I HAVE LOGGED OVER FORTY HOURS OF PHONE CONVERSATION TALKING TO CHRYSLERS CUSTOMER CASE MANAGERS AND SUPERVISORS AS WELL AS DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR ,SERVICE MANAGER AND MECHANICS. THERE HAS BEEN A COMPLETE DISCONNECT BETWEEN NORMAL HUMAN CARING AND THE ROBOT LIKE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I AM NOT SURE HOW PEOPLE CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT AFTER TELLING FAMILIES TO KEEP DRIVING THESE UNSAFE VEHICLES THAT STALL WHILE DRIVING. LAWYERS AFTER PUNITIVE DAMAGES ONLY DON'T TAKE CASES FOR VEHICLES THAT WERE PRODUCED BEFORE CHRYSLER S BANKRUPTCY. I DON'T BLAME THEM. TIPM MODULES SEEM TO BE RECALLED FOR VEHICLES AFTER BANKRUPTCY. I HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE IGNITION . WHEN TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST CLICK. THE MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED, STILL HAVE PROBLEM. SOMETIMES THE KEY FOB STICKS AND ENGINE KEEPS TRYING TO START. I THEN TURN THE IGNITION OFF MANUALLY. STARTER HAS BEEN REPLACED ALREADY TOO AT MY EXPENSE. I HAVE REPLACED THE STRUT AND SPRING ASSEMBLIES, BUT I GET ROUGH RIDE STILL.WHEN TURNING I GET A SNAPPING SOUND IN THE STEERING.

I WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY VAN REVVED UP FROM 1500 RPM TO 3500 RPM, AND SPEED WENT DOWN TO 30 MPH. SOMEHOW I GOT MY CAR TO MY WORK PLACE AND PARKED IT. I SUSPECTED MY TRANSMISSION HAD GONE BAD. I DECIDED TO TAKE MY CAR TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP. I DROVE THE VAN AT 30 MPH AT 3500 RPM TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP. THEIR TECHNICIAN DROVE THE VAN AROUND, DID SOME OTHER INSPECTION AND REPORTED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH MY TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER HE MENTIONED THERE WAS A ELECTRICAL POWER LOSS WHICH MADE MY VAN GO INTO LIMP MODE. REMARKABLY MY VAN STARTED DRIVING NORMALLY AFTER THE INSPECTION. I TOOK MY VAN TO AUTHORIZED DODGE DEALER. THEY PULLED SOME CODES FROM THE COMPUTER WHICH INDICATED POWER LOSS TO SEVERAL EQUIPMENT. THEY SUSPECTED THE TIPM MODULE, BUT DID NOT HAVE HARD EVIDENCE FROM THE CODES. THEY ADVISED ME TO LEAVE VAN OVERNIGHT AT THE SERVICE AREA, AND HAVE THEM CHECK IT OUT. I DECLINED BECAUSE ARRANGING ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION WAS DIFFICULT. TODAY MORNING, WHILE DRIVING THE VAN, WIPER BLADE SUDDENLY STARTED RUNNING. IT STOPPED ON ITS OWN AFTER FEW CYCLES. NOW I AM UNABLE TO START THE VAN. READING THROUGH FORUMS WHERE DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES, I AM CONFIDENT IT IS THE TIPM ON MY VAN. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, SINCE I DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY A LOT, AND IF VAN GOES INTO LIMP MODE, IT WILL BE A HAZARD. LOOKS LIKE DODGE IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. WHY DON'T THEY ACCEPT THE SITUATION AND DEAL WITH IT BY ISSUING A SAFETY RECALL AND FIXING THE TIPM. PLEASE FORCE DODGE TO ISSUE RECALL, ELSE I WILL NEED TO SPEND $1000 ATLEAST TO FIX TIPM. *TR

I FIRST HAD TO HAVE FRONT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED AT 79,000 MILES OCT 2012, NOW THEY ARE BAD AGAIN AT 127,000 MILES. I'VE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A SET OF WHEEL BEARINGS ON A VEHICLE LET ALONE TWO TIMES IN THIS SHORT OF DISTANCE,"MILES". CHRYSLER WON'T REPLACE THEM BUT THEY HAVE A SERVICE BULLETINS SAYING THEY WILL BUT IT DOESN'T DIRECTLY AFFECT MY VIN # SO I'M OUT OF LUCK TO OVER $1000 TO FIX IT MYSELF. *TR

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING MY 3 CHILDREN (AGES 5, 3, AND 18 MONTHS) HOME IN OUR 2008 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. AS SHE WAS PULLING UP TO A STOP SIGN, THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. ALTHOUGH, NO ONE WAS INJURED, IT WAS QUITE TRAUMATIC FOR MY KIDS. THEY WOULD NOT RE-ENTER THE VAN AND HAD TO RECEIVE A RIDE HOME FROM A LOCAL POLICE OFFICER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER THE NEXT DAY. IT TOOK THEM OVER TWO WEEKS TO SEND SOMEONE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. DURING THAT TIME, AFTER HAVING LEFT REPEATED MESSAGES WITH CHRYSLER, SOMEONE FINALLY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THAT WOULD NOT PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE DURING THE INVESTIGATION, AND THEY BASICALLY BLAMED ME FOR THE INCIDENT. THEY SAID THERE WERE RECALLS ON THE VAN THAT WERE NOT ADDRESSED. I INFORMED HIM THAT I HAD NOT SEEN ANY RECALL REGARDING AIRBAG SAFETY. THE MAN ON THE PHONE HAD 2 ADDRESSES ON FILE, OF WHICH NEITHER WAS CURRENTLY ACCURATE. HE SAID THAT I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED THEM WHEN WE MOVED. FINALLY AFTER ALMOST 4 WEEKS, THEY WROTE ME A LETTER SAYING THAT THEY WERE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. THEY TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD REPORT THE INCIDENT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO HAVE THEM COVER IT. SINCE THEN, I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL TO THE HVAC DRAIN TUBE AND GROMMET THAT COULD LEAK AND CAUSE MALFUNCTION TO THE AIRBAGS. *JS

JAN 2015 WAS DRIVING 40 MILES PER HOUR SLOWING DOWN FOR RED LIGHT ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND REAR LEFT SIDE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND RELEASED SHORTLY AFTER REPLACED BRAKE PADS. APRIL 2015 VAN FELT LIKE IT WAS DRAGGING FOUND BRAKE PADS WORN AGAIN. AUGUST 2015 SAME PROBLEM REPLACED PADS ROTOR CALIPER CALIPER BRACKET AND GUIDE PINS VAN RAN GREAT. TWO DAYS LATER SMOKE BEGAN POURING OUT OF THE REAR LEFT SIDE WHEEL WELL, STOPPED TO CHECK IT WAS SO HOT COULD FEEL THE HEAT 6 INCHES AWAY. CALIPER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AFTER 2 DAYS (28MILES). WIFE LOVES THE VAN BUT THIS PROBLEM IS GETTING OLD FAST. BEING DISABLED CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM FIXED EVERY 3 OR 4 MONTHS.
VEHICLE STALLED ON SHORT TRIP THROUGH NEIGHBORHOOD DRIVING AT LOCAL SPEED. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION/REPAIR AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. WE HAVE SINCE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE STALLS DURING LOW-SPEED DRIVING SCENARIOS AND HAD THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT AGAIN WITH NO FINDINGS (THROTTLE-BODY WAS CLEANED). WE HAVE MOST RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE NON START OF THE VEHICLE (NO TURNOVER, NO DASH LIGHTS, ETC.), TRIED TO START MULTIPLE TIMES AND NOTHING, WAITED A HALF-HOUR AND IT STARTED. SIMILAR NON STARTS HAVE HAPPENED (ESTIMATE 1 TO 3 TIMES A YEAR) SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2008 BUT IT HAS ALWAYS STARTED WITHIN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, WE'VE SHRUGGED IT OFF DUE TO INFREQUENCY AND LACK OF GRAVITY OF THE SITUATIONS (E.G. SITTING IN GARAGE).

MY 5 CHILDREN AND I GOT INTO THE VAN TO HEAD TO MY DISABLED CHILD'S DOCTORS APPOINTMENT. WE HAD JUST PULLED OUT AND BEGAN ACCELERATING WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF. THE WHEEL LOCKED, AS DID THE BRAKES. IT SEEMED AS THOUGH ALL ELECTRICAL TO THE VAN WAS LOST. NOTHING WORKED. WE WERE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE NOTHING HAPPENED. THE DASH INDICATORS DID NOT COME ON, THE POWER LOCKS AND WINDOWS WOULD NOT WORK. IT WAS DEAD. AFTER THE CHILDREN AND I WERE ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY A UPS TRUCK, I REMOVED MY CHILDREN FROM THE VEHICLE AND BROUGHT THEM TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOLD THEM TO WALK HOME (FORTUNATELY WE WEREN'T FAR). AT THAT POINT I RETURNED TO ATTEMPT TO GET IT TO RESTART. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND 2 NEAR COLLISIONS, THE VAN CAME BACK TO LIFE. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO MY HOME AND PARKED IT. THIS ISSUE BEGAN WHEN, ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO, MY VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. I THEN DISCOVERED IF I TOOK THE KEY OUT THEN PUT IT BACK IN IT WOULD EVENTUALLY START. I HAD CALLED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY WIN MODULE. I CALLED DODGE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO ETA ON A REPLACEMENT PART BUT I CAN PAY OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE IT FIXED AND WOULD BE REIMBURSED. AFTER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE MEANS TO FIX IT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! THE VEHICLE I PURCHASED TO KEEP MY CHILDREN SAFE PUT THEIR LIVES IN DANGER. IT'S THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE THAT WILL FIT ALL 5 OF MY CHILDREN. NOW MY DAUGHTER, WHO IS DISABLED, CANNOT SEE HER DOCTOR TODAY, AND ONLY LORD KNOW WHEN WE'LL HAVE ACCESS TO A VEHICLE FOR THE ALREADY SCHEDULED FUTURE APPOINTMENT.
